21 Conduit St

When I compare it to two other perfumes with rhubarb arm-to-arm-to-arm (yes, I'm a hindu god), this one wins. Compared to Hermes' Eau de Rhubarbe Eclarate, this one places the rhubarb note in a much wider context, it's richer, less sweet, while Hermes' is much simplier and designed to please a much wider audience. However, the rhubarb note is prominent in both and is very pleasing. In 21 Conduit St. it's put in a bit more dry and sour company, it's not a rhubarb candy, like the Hermes. And it's a little more interesting and mysterious, and building mystery is what I'm wearing a perfume for. The lavender is innoticeable, it's just there to create a context, it's masterfully blended with the rest of the notes. Oh, it's just gorgeous (snaps a handheld fan). Compared to Jovoy's L'art de la Guerre rhubarb is much less prominent in the latter, I have an impression that L'art is about something else: the imortelle, the leather, which are more for conesseur noses, while 21 Conduit St. is all about rhubarb and rhubarb is like a theme for this perfume, it stays much longer than just to bring a nice, round opening, like it does in L'art. Don't get me wrong, LADLG is a great perfume, but if your starting your journey with high perfumery and still training your nose you'll find 21CSt. much more pleasing. Comparing L'art and the Hermes makes no sense whatsoever.

I can see this being a flanker in the L'Homme Ideal line by Guerlain. Some variation of a liquored fresh Parfum without the leather facet or thickness from the latter. Bright, this is fresh in the opening! It overtook Vibrato on my top5 fragrances in the collection. Goes super well with my personality and how I dress. Something to reach for during the entire year, but during fall/winter only during the day. The added complexity of the balsam fir, but especially amaretto made this a winner. Almondy, fresh, and a tinge salty - I do get the weed vibe but doesn't dominate the fragrance. Signature scent worthy for the versatility and uniqueness, to be honest. I've smelled quite a few grapefruit "Tygaresque" fragrances and I get the comparison but they don't smell alike to me. This isn't as dry and I don't "taste" the fragrance every wearing, which some like Rosso Pompei and Ingenious Ginger make me do for the stronger citruses. Paid ~$120 for my 100ml bottle. Presentation is on point, along with the bottle (quality of the glass, heavy metal cap), but the sprayer really isn't the best. Performance clocks in at around 7h with moderate projection, with the first hour being rather loud but dies down nicely to be worn in closed quarters too.

I thought this was just lovely, a sort of lighter, more ethereal version of Tygar (linear, grapefruit ambroxan bomb). Not sure about the rhubarb up front, but this perfume does develop through several phases and is interesting because of it. I loved the whiff of amaretto. Didn't pick up much lavender? Also see comparisons to Burlington 1819 which to my nose is creamier and closer to Tygar. Whilst all the same ballpark this is my favourite because of the more natural feel (which doesnt mean it isnt all aromachemicals but they've been beautifully blended). The development of the notes through the mid and late drydown are just lovely. 21 CS is also half the cost of the others, Jovoy get extra points for fairer pricing for what is a genuine niche experience. 4/5

It is a blast of grapefruit at first, like spilling grapefruit juice all over yourself. After the opening, it turns slightly nutty, which is a nice and crazy curveball. Then piney. What a Journey in a bottle. Pay attention or you'll miss it. This happens in the first minute. 10/10 scent itself. This is a magical experience that you can wear guys. It is a year round fragrance. Day or night. Wow. Will comment later about longevity. I have many MFK citruses and many others. This is my grail citrus, but it is so much more. It's nutty, citrussy, piney, sexy, elegant or can be dressed down. It has complex notes. Although Remember Me and 21 Conduit St. are created from different noses, it retains that Jovoy DNA of absolute unisex class.

Man, this beautiful! Oh gosh! That is what im talking about. Jovoy is making a excelent job. Its starting to be my favorite niche house. Like many frags, they make all the notes very balanced, not agressive or noting to complain. 21 conduit is light, fresh, relaxing, you can wear anycase, anytime, safe to any situation. Easily beiyng a signature scent. Age: Above 20 Longevity: Long Lasting Sillage: Moderate I would buy: yes, i need it Blindbuy: Yes To resume: The drydown give you that fruity freshness, I felt a note of green tea, with a touch of spices, ambroxan present, a hint of light sweet, pleasant woody and very present lavender. I like how the Rhubarb, balsan pin and ambroxan work as maestro. Amazing! Overall: 9/10

Like everything I've tried from Jovoy, they never lack depth or quality. The surprising thing for me in this is that the Lavender here is quite earthy/dirty, which is very unusual in this type of scents, but it adds depth and subtle earthiness to this beautiful scent. If there was an inspiration behind this, I'd def think it's Creed's Sublime Vanille, not that they are similar, not at all, but they are both in the same direction, Bright citrus with a hint of sweetness, which is very rare in my opinion, the examples of sweet citrus scents are few, I haven't tried Burlington, but most of the Roja Dove's that I tried has exquisite openings but lack depth in the dry down. This is good, original and unique.

Another hit from this sadly underrated brand. Blind buy big smile. Simple fresh lavender very Smokey at first and slightly dusty turns into a smooth purple heaven. The drydown is a gorgeous fresh but dark smooth lavender bodied out by the creamy slightly vanillic woods (the amaretto and tonka) on the base. On top you have a touch of tartness with a touch of spice on top of the Rhubarb seemlessly and beautifully blending with the lavender helping to body it out further. Pure heaven for its simpleness and decent performance. Whilst I have many lavender scents that have impressed this is the only one to come close to TF Lavender Extreme in its performance, quality and uniqueness. Thank you Jovoy.

CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED . I guarantee you the people that gave this fragrance a negative rating haven’t tried a full days wearing. I obtained a free sample of this along with a fragrance bottle I purchased online. Very screechy and sort of cannabis like opening. After 15 to 20 minutes the cannabis note fades away, the synthetic screech tones down and you’re left with a juicy bitter grapefruit and rhubarb pie with a dust of cinnamon(even though cinnamon is not listed) . Super delicious and very versatile . Perfectly unisex Performance is just okay on my skin I got about 7 hours longevity about 2 hours of moderate projection. Overall- 9.4/10

I bought a 7ml decant of this one from Max Aroma because I love Jovoy and wanted to sample all of their perfumes and it’s nice but way too masculine for me to wear . I mean it’s not even wearable for me. Too much rhubarb and fir, and I’m not a fan of lavender, almost all mens fragrances have lavender . This one is very strong. You will smell it all day and so will everyone else. So while it’s so not for me, it would be very lovely on a man. I shall gift my decant to hubby,

An elegant blend of light airy citrus: bergamot, methyl pamplemousse, mandarin. Some vetiver and lemon, magnolia, and rhubofix in the dry own. Then there is just a massive amount of ambroxan which sits so well in the citrus, it is a perfect marriage. Not listed in the notes is the orris by way of Methyl Ionone Gamma, which gives it the dry powdery soapy clean Grey Vetiver-like uniqueness. Its way more woody and dry, less sweet and fruity than Tygar.

I just picked this up and have been struggling to pin down what it reminds me of and then it hit me- lacoste l'homme. So much overlap in note breakdown- rhubarb is shared, citruses are shared, almond vs amaretto, vanilla vs Tonka, woods are shared. I love the Lacoste when I smelled it years ago but it did not perform well at all. The Jovoy addresses the performance and moves up on the quality scale. This is a winner for me.

I love this ! The opening is sparkling and fresh. The citrus notes burst out with the zing of the rhubarb taking a central position. I get a good 4-6 hrs off skin. I owned RD Burlington first, one of those 7.5mls travel bottles. In the air and in my opinion, these are indistinguishable from one another. This is a delicate perfect blend. If I ran out of both, this is the one I would repurchase.

Blown away by this one! Don’t see much Tygar resemblance as it is quite one note. This one, however, is layered masterfully. It opens with bright blend of citruses with rhubarb. After 10 minutes the lavender note becomes more dominant, and after and hour or two lavender goes away and leaves the amaretto sweetness. Didn’t expect much from this blind buy but this is going on my top shelf.

A nice, muted grapefruit opening leads to a warm amber-woody dry down. Roja Brurlington 1819 is probably the closest to this one. Roja is a little more complex, so 21 Conduit might be an easier to wear fragrance amongst the two of them. Average performance. A very contemporary release from Jovoy (if you know the house, you'll know what I mean).

Update a few months in a few more wears later. I like it more. It was between like and ok at first but i now love it. Very smooth and original Very original, smooth and soft fougere scent with strong rhubarb note. Very reminiscent of L'art de la guerre from Jovoy. Mostly a day scent and can be a professional scent very easily.

I like this playful take on lavender! It is very strong and intense, and you can smell its complexity right away. I enjoy the combination of rhubarb, lavender and balsam fir. At first it is a bit jarring, bc it is so strong....but then as it begins to settle, you realize it is something unique and special. Well done.

Hard to come by these days, a fresh citrusy & a bit fruity with a woody ( from the ambroxan I suppose ) drydown,last quite a while for a freshie, a very gentlemenly scent. People say its smells like Tygar, I say its a better value than tygar since its more complex & the notes changes during several phases.

I like this but can't wrap my head around what im smelling. I went to vote and voted up amaretto before seeing the totals. I was surprised how different I seem to perceive this blend. to me the first half reminds of Seminalis, while the last half of Tygar. YMMV versatile unique pleasant quality

I likened it to a vibrato in a comment that I made and deleted before for this perfume. This is true, but in addition to looking like perfumes like vibrato and tygar, I discovered the similarity of pure malt in a strange way. This perfume also smells like pure malt for summer.

21 Conduit street is one of my favourite scents for spring and summer. It opens with a fresh grapefruit and fruity Rhubarb. Zesty and tangy. The lavender is so special in this fragrance. Turns a bit green, aromatic and a little bit of fruity sweetness in the base.

Very nice. I own hundreds of Niche perfumes and none smell like this one . I have a 8ml decant, need to buy a bottle. This perfume just gets nicer as it dries down. Really beautiful. Very realistic rhubarb smell. Nice addition to my JOVOY collection.

90% ambroxan but in a way that works. It's a tried and tested formula, the huge ambroxan + zesty citrus top, but this is a good one. It does smell quite boring after a few hours but I can forgive that for the joyful first couple of hours.

At its core, this is a niche freshie. That's not even a knock, it's a well-constructed stunner of a perfume. The first two weeks I owned this, it was a legitimate struggle to not wear it most days.

This is nice,easy to wear,citrus - lavender - and a touch of rhubarb scent. Let it mature for two weeks and it'll perform better.

Tried the Jovoy discovery set, and this is my fav. Reinind me of Blue Parfume from Chanel, but more interesting.

The fresher yet equally as sexy cousin of Burlington 1819 scent breakdown - Immediately, you're smacked in the face with juicy, bitter grapefruit and fruity, green rhubarb that's wrapped in that iconic musky ambroxan cloud. As it begins to dry down, I notice a slight aromatic fougere accord popping out to support and fill out the scent that I can only assume comes from the aromatics like lavender & balsam mixing with the natural sweetness of ambroxan and the amaretto accord. In the deep dry down that ambroxan really takes over, and it becomes somewhat hard to distinguish from other Tygar-esque counterparts. personal thoughts - This is related to Burlington 1819 as much as Cedrat Boise by Mancera is related to Creed's Aventus; tangentially related, sure, but directly different use cases and scent profile. Obvious comparisons out of the way, this is a wonderfully well-executed fresh fragrance for when you want something fresh, clean, and easy to wear, but still want a little bit of intrigue to keep you hooked. If you're a fan of the grapefuit ambroxan combo, go get a sample. performance - Good performance of 8-10ish hours, with good projection for the first 2-3. The smell is at it's peak under the hot summers sun. rating - 8.3/10. Signature Scent Worthy when to wear - Summer strolls through the park on a lazy Sunday morning; Open-air market runs to get the pasta you love from the old Italian grandma who's been making it for 50 years; Lounging in the sun on an evening after being SUPER productive. song vibe - Pick up the Pieces by Average White Band TLDR - Juicy Grapefruit + Fruity Rhubarb + Light Fougere Elements + An Overdose of Musky Sweet Ambroxan. Almost as if you took the best elements of Burlington 1819 and the Bulgari Tygar DNA, combined them, added a touch of modern fougere je ne sais quoi, and slapped the Jovoy label on it. A must-try for fans of any of the aforementioned DNAs, but it's not nearly as complex as some of the house's offerings.

I bought a 2ml sample of this to try as I am looking for a fresh summer fragrance that is fruity. My 1st impressions were that the grapefruit is very bitter and hangs around for a long time. I didn't read the note pyramid because I like to guess first. I was reminded of some sweets from the 80s but couldn't quite place it. It was weird at first but settled down to a pleasent, fresh lavender fragrance. I bought a full bottle and waiting for it's arrival. However, every time I try this on my skin it is a different experience. Day 1 was lavender - Day 2 was Abroxan - Day 3 was lemonade - Day 4 was sherbet - Day 5 was a very pleasing, dry woody drydown. It is a good fragrance but make sure you test it fully before purchasing a full bottle. I was never a fan of marzipan or rhubarb as a kid, but the way these notes is blended works on my skin. Eating is one thing, wearing is another. Jovoy is a great brand with interesting ideas. I like this and psychedelique (so far).

I'm reviewing a sample that a got with another purchase. Aromatic citrus with rhubarb in the background. It has a slightly boozy note coming from the Amaretto that I can detect. Because of that note you can probably wear this one all year long. It's not just another summery citrus scent. On the dry down it is slightly more spicy and sweet because the tonka bean becomes noticeable. Longevity is beast and it smells refined and expensive. But... In my opinion it is not unisex, especially because of the quite masculine opening. This is really a gentleman perfume and as a woman I would not wear this one. Each one our tastes I guess ! It is a "like" because this a good scent, not just for me.

The folks that claim this reminds them of Tygar are off by miles. 21 Conduit St changes multiple times over it's scent life. Forget the top notes listed for this one. The opening on my skin was smoke, lavender and something vaguedly sour. After 10 minutes the amaretto and tonka notes come up to provide some balance. After 30 minutes it very much reminds me of Bentley for Men Intense. It has the same dry, woodsy, boozy vibe overall. The lavender goes in and out of the scent profile as it ages. I can see this working for a professional male as a going out to the bar or dinner fragrance. But I don't think this will be attractive to anyone under 35 yrs of age.

Yes, this leans masculine but I’m a woman and feel I can pull it off. It’s the slightly spicy balsam which reads masculine yet the way the ambroxan lifts and radiates it off skin is sexy on anyone. The sour and bitter grapefruit and rhubarb provide a nearly mouthwatering opening and the lavender doesn’t veer too clean or artificial. Considering these are all notes that often give me trouble, it’s remarkable that they are balanced so well in this beautiful composition.

I have to admit that I get a similar vibe to Burlington. When I tried Burlington, I found it quite sharp, with a slightly bitter edge that occasionally felt a bit unpleasant. This fragrance smooths out those aspects considerably, offering a more earthy and balanced character. The performance is on a similar level to Burlington’s—not bad, but not a beast either. Since I find it more wearable and it’s also far more affordable than Burlington, I’m quite pleased with it.

Anyone else get vibes of Burlington 1819 from Roja? Maybe it's just he grapefruit opening but I'm smelling similarities. Woody citrus with some sweetness/booziness. Opening is a medicinal grapefruit then the almond-y sweetness/booziness kicks in. The mid's sweetness is a bit fruity. There's woodiness from start to finish. It's very nice but not for me.

This is a “like” for me. It’s a clean, easy to wear spring/summer fragrance. It lacks anything unique, but sometimes that’s ok. I get the citrus and there is something grassy and earthy. I would swear vetiver was in there, but maybe it’s the lavender. It actually reminds me of Terre d’ Hermes Au Givree. I would rate it 7/10.

Took me a few cautious wearings to understand this. The opening is peculiar which I would blame it on the Rhubarb. Once passed the middle notes toward the dry down, it gets way better. I get Elysium dry down nuances with a tad more powdery quality. Like I said, the opening can be a bit of a challenge.

The opening is rather challenging at first, its rather starchy and green, after 30 its turns in to a lovely beautiful scent and one hour in the vetiver and rhubarb shine. It is certainly unique and really nothing I know smells this this and I really like it but I will need more time with it.

Very unique citrus woody combo. I find the rhubarb— grapefruit combo is sharp and a bit screechy in the opening but the drydown is really magical! You have a fougere nuance with the lavender/pine and gingery musky feel. Very interesting and well blended

Refined, unique and artisan. Grapefruit and rhubarb...originality! Smells objectively good, but if you’re into bitter, semi-sweet fragrances, you might just fall in love.

The juxtaposition between wanting to be taken seriously and not being self-aware enough to actually care. Felix Keane from On The Rocks wears this.

Wore this a couple days in a row now, & there's this slight bitterness to it which I'm not a fan of.

Jovoy 21 Conduit Street: up the conduit all the way to the niche. I over-sprayed this--two squirts on the flat of the arm on each arm. The shower only activated it more. I did five scours with Dove soap and washcloth and the next morning I could still smell it. Whatever you do. . DO NOT overspray or it will be running you instead of the reverse. So. . . we try again one spray each arm--on the flat. First ten seconds really does smell like "weed" of the skanky sort. Is it the Tonka? Gone. Is it Ambroxan? Ten seconds more and a brief animalic sensation that is very interesting. Gone. Kind of a fleeting, very cool animalic that is strong and mostly for animalic lovers of wild. Probably Ambroxan. Got Wood?: Now I am starting to get it. The Balsam Fir and Woody Notes are there for some time. With only two sprays it fades to a skin scent on my arms in about twenty seconds. You like quickies? Rhubarb: I love Rhubarb pie but descriptions of Rhubarb as a scent not don't work with my snoot. I Love Lavender: I am of the belief that ,for Lavender, synthetic may work better: The lifelong fascination with Lavender that Oli Marlow professes is why I bought this fragrance. I do not find the Lavender to be that defined and Marlow's search for contrast with Lavender is a great idea. Getting it right on Lavender has to be one of the all-time, most ambitious pursuits of fragrance formulation. (whew! wordy as hell) I think Lavender is easily overwhelmed and Oli Marlow is visionary in this pursuit of contrast. I DO NOT think the Lavender is captured in its exquisite form through the conduit of 21 Conduit Street. No one said that Lavender would be easy so I am thrilled. Keep at it!!! Lavender is not a marathon: It is just me. I am used to Caron pour Homme or Dunhill Valensole. As for Dunhill Valensole, many do not sense Lavender. I DO sense the illusive Lavender on Dunhill Valensole and confess I am a true Dunhill fanatic. British fragrance houses do wonderful Grapefruit, Lavender, Black Pepper etc. Sideline: Lavender does not seem to last that long or project much unless you go synthetic. I am a true synthetic lover. In my opinion, only Montale and Mancera really get synthetic/natural interface. Both houses are just so advanced. You know. . . . I think I might BE a synthetic. Jovoy 21 Conduit Street should be evaluated in decant. I cannot wait to try the world famous Psychedelique patchouli fragrance from this house.

The article I read mentioned this opened up similar to Fougere Royale, yet nothing about this fragrance reminds me of it. Nothing. Simply a marketing ruse or simply a bad nose behind the detestable article. Anyhow, the scent itself starts off similar to L'art de la Guerre, but quickly heads towards boozy, gourmand territory, with a hint of freshness coming from the ambroxan and rhubarb. Once the sweetness settles it becomes more of a woody aromatic, not a Fougere. The dry down does get better as it becomes smoother and fresher over time, however, this is definitely a fragrance one needs time to get used to, to appreciate. Rhubarb is such an interesting note -- sharp, sweet, bitter, and when used appropriately it can add a layer of tartness citrus can't quite pull off. Overall, it feels like a cross of De la Guerre and Guerlain Homme Intense.

Got a sample of this because I wanted to like Roja 1819 but that cumin note was too overbearing. Without that cumin it would’ve been a masterpiece so I tried this since people said it’s like the Roja without the cumin note. After sampling my travel size I don’t really get any resemblance of Roja 1819. The scent itself is ok, not amazing to me but good. The grapefruit lasts for about 60 seconds and then it settles into a slightly sweet/woody fragrance to me. I think what I’m getting the most is the Amaretto accord mixed with the tonka beans and ambroxan. Not bad at all but doesn’t amaze me, and isn’t as similar to 1819 as I hoped it to be. It’d be hard to dislike this fragrance but I wish there was more citrus present than the sweetness

Vivid start of grapefruit hand in hand with rhubarb, thah I have not yet smelled anywhere else than in freshly cut versions of those fruit. It is held back by some artificial odor of too hot iron placed for a bit longer on a quality white linen shirt. Not fully burnt but recognizable. No amaretto, no tonka and no other sweetness thank god, its clean, spring and summer scent that can be signature.

21 Conduit St opens with an outstanding rhubarb note — fresh, tart, and slightly bitter, instantly recognizable and beautifully lifted by grapefruit. It’s one of the best rhubarb openings I’ve encountered in perfumery. Unfortunately, after this promising start, the fragrance quickly loses its presence. Within two hours it becomes a soft skin scent. Up close (nose-against-skin close), it turns woody with a slight bitterness and a gentle toasty amaretto nuance, but it remains too subtle to fully enjoy. Spraying on clothes helps a bit with performance, but the dry-down I was expecting from the note list never truly appears. Instead of evolving into something richer, it stays quiet and restrained. A stunning opening followed by a rather underwhelming performance.

Probably should be renamed to a street in California, such a weed-heavy scent. Unfortunately that is also one of the #1 scents that give me a migraine with nausea so I would avoid if you don't like the smell of weed. Initial scent - sour, smokey, lavender, fir tree with some kind of herby scent which I assume is the bergamot. Within an hour - fades to some kind of maybe spicy, sweeter smell that's a bit more tolerable, less smokey, still like weed and some other herbs. Over an hour - fades to skin scent in about 2-3 hours, not mad about it because my headache is finally clearing. ;) Reminds me of Higher and Higher by Dirty Heads.

Unisex but masculine leaning. Very synthetic, screechy and overpowering of the other notes (it's the Ambroxan for me). It reminded me of some vintage mini perfume samples my parents had from Amway called La Collection Classique. Woody and clean but not in a soapy way. I could pick up the lavender notes, but was not getting any citrus. I can pictured it as a room fragance. Kind of dated, vintage and somewhat complex.

Not a bad fragrance but extremely weak. So disappointed. Similar to L'Homme Ideal cologne Guerlain (with an almond vibe). If you can find it, L'Homme Ideal cologne Guerlain is a better option with greater longevity and projection.
