Boise

a precious expensiv smelling luxury puristic woodsy scent, strong, sexy, sensual unisex. i share it with my hubby with pleasure, it smells amazing on him, i use it for layering to give depth and sillage to a floral scent. lasts very good. thumbs up, bottles of this glorious serie are awesome simple and chic. true must have for perfume lovers who like to experiment.

To me this is identical to Serge Lutens Feminite du Bois which I dont mind at all.. its lovely.. like pencil shavings on a crisp cold sunny morning

thye are meant to layer. i love layering oriental with bosie.... beautiful together... the poudre and oriental is also nice...

I can see how some could draw comparisons between Jovoy Paris Boise and Feminite du Bois, however I must note that I enjoy Boise far more. It is much softer and less fruity on my skin. Boise is my first foray into the house of Jovoy Paris, and so far I'm impressed. Despite being a fragrance marketed for men, I find Boise to be very unisex. A note of red cedar appears to be the most dominant accord on my skin, having a somewhat damp, rain-drenched wood aroma. Sandalwood, rosewood and cumin further add to this fragrance's woodsy charm. What I find most appealing about Boise is its creamy woods texture. It smells inoffensive and delicate on my skin, a scent that works in harmony with your own unique skin scent. It's a simple yet strangely alluring fragrance. The violet, although barely discernible, adds a light, powdery touch. Despite its rather light projection, Boise has great lasting strength. I own a generously sized sample of Boise, which comes in the form of a rollerball. Not the easiest fragrance to find, but well worth testing. Boise is highly recommended to those that liked Feminite du Bois but were turned off by its sharpness.

I didn't know what I expected - but it's even better! The rosewood is quite strong(from the get-go), the caraway isn't strong but ever there, and the best: the violet and freesia give it a velvety, powdery but not distinct flowery, feel. this smells to me what I expected cashmere to be like. it's not sweet, and the name fits it to a T. its lasting power is quite good (already 4,5 hrs) and it's still very much there. but never too strong and wafting. it just gives you a kind of 'aura' and only people very close to you can smell you directly. perfect even during the day. Oh, it somewhat reminds me of the feel i got from merveille hermes and le feu.

Opens with a very aromatic cedar and a mint cooling accord,later settles down into a vanilla and inmortelle fragrance; sweet but not cloying,a little boozy with the cedar fading away very slowly, well balance,well constructed and one of the few perfumes I like with a dominant inmortell note. A day time fragrance with a possitive vibe and sophistication.

Seeing now as this was placed from 'women' to 'men', I would vote for 'unisex'-I see myself as my BF wearing it (not only seeing but moreover smelling)... and as I find it gorgeous on him, he likes it on me, though I have to admit, I bought it for myself... well, since I love it on him I will postpone a talk about 'my perfumes-your perfumes' ;)

The spicy beginning is interesting and a bit different. After a while the violet comes trough and smells nice and very light purple in a way... the wood in the fragrance are a bit hot and spicy, but never in a loud way, just subtle... A powdery and dry fragrance. Non-offensive and medium stayingpower.

Yes, this is indeed very close to Feminitè Du Bois minus the dried fruity quality. Probably a tad less sharp (which might result as something positive to some). Probably my favorite in the whole Les 7 Parfums Capitaux range but still too derivative to warrant a full positive rating. Rating: 5.5-6/10

Wood smells are not my love, but Bois Jovoy Paris pleases me. There is traditional: spicy, simple, warm. It differs that, it delicacy. Wood in Bois is very subtle - not hard, but velvety. Nice, frendly smell and as all compositions of Jovoy - very elegant.
