L’Enfant Terrible

Date-licious Sandalwood... LET is basically an aromatic sandalwood fragrance to me. This one is love for me since spray one. When I fist spray LET on me I don't get the top notes listed right away. What I get is a combination of dates and sandalwood right off. Strange because top notes are supposed to hit you first for presentation. No? Or call me crazy. LET right away comes across as a moderately and pleasantly sweet fragrance, mostly from the dates. But this is the game LET plays on me--wonder if this explains the name of the fragrance. After a few minutes then I can start detecting the spices from the top notes better. The nutmeg, coriander and caraway come together to add a dry, woody and fragrant spicy sweetness. Now. I did not notice the orange scent until after my third trial. It is there, but sometimes I get it and sometimes I don't. I'm not sure if the weather is a factor since I'm in Florida and right now in January our temperatures and humidity fluctuate greatly. But when it does come out it adds this fresh citrusy sweetness that constrasts the drier spiciness from the top notes. I don't get any of the alluded green notes by Fragrantica. Despite having musk at the base I don't detect any. Silage is moderate and longevity is above average. LET is bottle worthy for me. It is fragrant, redolent and easy going. 8.5/10

One night I was in a party with a friend of mine and we were chatting about perfumes since we both are perfume frick! Suddenly I smells a new scent which I have never tested before. I looked for the person who had weared It and I found him. It was a guy around 30. I asked him about the perfume he had weared and he gave me the name. It was L'enfant by Jovoy. Next day I directly went to a perfume shop to have a try on that perfume. First of all I can say It is a masterpiece. An spicy and woody perfume with a lot of sweetness. The dominant scent blongs to Dates, Nutmeg and Caraway which means that I am wearing a sweet fragrance. Sandalwood and Cedar in the notes has made it a spicy and woody perfume with a great longevity and projection that absorb all the attentions in Winter and fall. It is not a good choice for Summer; however, It is acceptable in Spring. This masculine perfume is a great choice for male indeed.

The French maison Jovoy Paris has been creating fragrances of rare beauty, inimitable, refined and surprising since 1923. L'enfant terrible is characterized by opening notes of green, very green, fresh juste pulvérisé, a damp grassy mantle, while dry takes place at the forefront a sensational triumph of joyful spicy, bewitching scents, which blend with sweet and enveloping notes of ripe fruity heart (dates) more sour citrus notes than orange, magically united by the sensual notes of sandalwood. At the dry down, the base appears a reassuring musky scent that makes it welcoming and powdery with renewed and surprising spicy notes. Like all Jovoy Paris creations the Sillage is magnificent... and the duration noteworthy. Marvelous.

I used to dislike this but now I absolutely enjoy it. It is like a sexier, dirtier, night time version of Feminite du Bois. It is very pleasing and I like how bold it is. It is also not linear at all it has amazing staying power and changes as different facets of it are taking center stage.

Wife hates but i love it ... One of my favorite gourmand fragrances. I think this is the best composition of dates with caraway which is very balanced and well blended. Perfect for cold weather.

As for its similarity to Feminité du Bois, it's there, that's true, however Feminité is lighter, fresher and less smoky-powdery than L'Enfant, which makes sense because their notes differ quite a bit, which should be immediately obvious to most experienced perfume lovers if it's obvious to me whose nose often has trouble differentiating notes. It also does smell quite like Sensuous in the drydown. If you're familiar with the Eastern European drink Baikal, this perfume, in the beginning makes the impression of the syrup concentrate for this drink. If you're not, imagine nutmeg, cola syrup and miscellaneous herbs working together, one not overpowering the others. The second phase is the even smoother and somewhat sweeter sandalwood/dates, and the last one is incongruously fresh, light and surprising Sensuous smellalike. All three phases are delicious, pleasant, playful and fit the character of the description well. A sort of neon-noir daylight scent. Projects very strongly for about three hours and then reduces its radius to about one feet; shocking no one the skin eats it up easier, stays pretty much indefinitely on clothes. When layering, tends to be overpowered by stronger chypres and suchlike. Additionally, if it's so similar to Feminité, I would suggest it costs cheaper to just go with the Jovoy version. As for any, ah, unusual ingredients, like metal shavings and whatnot, my skin chemistry manifests no such things.

L'Enfant Terrible open citrus and spicy, slightly fresh, with a synthetic green note that unbalances the entrance, after a while the fragrance begins to sweeten with a central note of dates steered axle makes the rest of the fragrance. This sweet note gets into the territory gourmand attached to a nice drying with a soft musky sandalwood, which is the best part of development. So much like a mix between Dzhari Phaedon and féminité du Bois meeting. L'Enfant is nice, easy to use, especially, is good for cool days, have a good time and a moderate trail. The grades are averages and can not find any new, original or striking contribution that makes you stand out. Rating: 4

The image conjured up is that of a rebellious young child. But the scent in itself is quite the opposite! I get whiff of Nutmeg, Coriander, Sandalwood, Cedar, Orange, Date. This aromatic concoction is spoilt with a touch of cumin which I suppose is where the image of the mischievous child comes to play. To me, this is the most appealing of the Jovoy fragrances. It starts off a bit harsh with all the spices, but it gradually dries down to a very aromatic and pleasant scent. Perhaps this is creating the vision of a hyper-active child that eventually gets tired and calms down, perhaps even falls asleep. And then the neighbourhood is quiet once again!

L'Enfant Terrible is absolutely delicious to be a menace! Really edible, like orange-cola chewing gum in all its sweetness. Loads and loads of orange, softened by the date and oakmoss notes. I'd describe it as spicy, loud, infantile, warm, sweet and confident. I promise you, I would eat my arm now if I could, it's that delicious. I've never tried F du B although I've had the chance many times but definitely will next time. If you have a chance to try this Jovoy, please knock yourself out.

i tested this today ,very good frag indeed ,freshly spiced and woody ,i smell cumin,wood,not too sweet as i do not detect on my skin dates or anything gourmand ,in the drydown very similar to feminite du bois shiseido but more masculine in a certain way . projection it's not too high ,longevity on my skin more than 8 hours .very woody oriental frag but it didnt impressed me so much to say i ll should buy a full bottle soon 7/10

I get bit of an old school vibe and it's a nice scent, but longevity is weak. 30min and it's a skin scent, a nice one but still. Wouldn't pay the price for a full bottle. :edit 1:30h in and it's coming around, my nose is buried in my elbow, it's kind of addicting. Im getting some Oud Wood spiciness out of this. Nice.

Sweet Coca-Cola with a splash of extra orange. Does not resemble any of the perfumes that have been mentioned earlier. A relatively sweet and heavy scent, so make sure to wear it when the weather is not scorching hot.

Similar to Aziyade Parfum d`Empire, but much lighter and with less character. Musk is not present. Nice fragrance.

Caraway and nutmeg combo beats all.

Like a child you adore; and then it pisses you off so much that you start to hate it, just for it to charm you again, so that you love it again. I have the same relationship with this one.... Just so very sweet. Too sweet, but then again ever so endearing in the very cold of winter as it bings you comfort. However, there is something a bit disharmonious and overpowering in this composition, perhaps the date or the nutmeg in combination what turns out to be smelling like an old-fashioned lipstick note. It's that toddler that one minute is all peace- and cheerful, and the next moment throws all his toys out of the pram. Gives me headache at times, like that shrieking hi-pitched noise that children are capable of. It might sound harsh but I can only spent a few hours with this child, i.e. the scent for it is just overpowering and jarring for me. Hate to love it and love to hate it. 5/10

مرت فترة طويلة منذ آخر مرة تفرغت للكتابة عن عطر للوهلة الأولى ذكرتني افتتاحية العطر بعطر امتلكه منذ عدة سنوات، كان الجميع يعتبره بديلا رخيصا لرائعة فريدريك مال "مسك رافاجار" وهو عطر ميهاريز من دار ليربولاريو، وهي دار إيطالية محلية بارعة في مجال الكوزماتيكس - Cosmetics "مستحضرات التجميل" وعلى الرغم من التشابه النسبي بين ميهاريز ورافاجار، وبين ميهاريز ولونفو. لم أجد تشابها بين لونفو وبين رافاجار قد يظن البعض أن البداية لحلاوة التمر ولكنني أراها لجوزة الطيب التي أضافت لها الكراوية طبيعة سكرية. ولكن مع وجود الكزبرة سيكون الوسط التابلي رائع لأن تشعرك بأن التمر يبدأ منذ البداية لكن بعد ربع ساعة وحينما تزداد الرائحة "الشهية" الدافئة دخولا إلى الميدان فسيكون هذا إعلانا لظهور التمر التمر هنا ليس جافا وليس رطبا ولكنه أميل إلى رائحة التمر اللدن "الطري" وهو أشبه ما يكون بالتمر المجدول العسلي اللون. حاول أنفي كثيرا أن يبحث عن القرفة ولكن دون جدوى المسك الجرانيتي الأبيض زاد من اتجاه العطر للعطور الجورماندية وأضفي عليه لمسة من الأناقة بقية المكونات لا تعدو كونها مكملات لا تؤثر على جوهر العطر العطر حتما ليس للجميع ولا يصلح بشكل كبير لأجواء العمل ولا للحفلات الرسمية وبشكل صريح هو أحد العطور الخاصة التي يمكنك أن تستخدمها في المنزل أو الخروجات الخاصة وربما مع الأصدقاء. محبي العطور الغريبة والغير مألوفة سيستوقفهم العطر. وأصحاب الأمزجة الخاصة مدعوون لتجربة العطر بشكل صريح. ويبقى أمر التقبل من عدمه للذوق الخاص.

Like others, I see this as a poor copy of FdB. The opening is horrid. There's a really pungent rubbery smell. Fortunately, it passes within around 20 minutes and then I get what I can only describe as FdB without the depth. I don't get much spiciness from this at all. I was expecting more cinnamon and more date, but what I get instead is cedar and candied fruits. It's fine, but compared to FdB it just doesn't cut it. This is something I'd expect to find as a cut price dupe rather than an expensive niche perfume. The sillage is very, very soft and the longevity is around 5 hours.

I perceive it as a fragrant sandalwood-dates scent. Caraway, Nutmeg, Coriander, and Green Notes are the top notes; Dates, Virginia Cedar, Sandalwood, and Orange are the middle notes; Musk is the base note. mildly pleasing and sweet smell. All three phases are scrumptious, enjoyable, and lively, and they all nicely reflect the description's mood. Longevity is above normal, and silage is moderate. It has a pleasant aroma and is laid back. I adore it.

Big blast of natural cinnamon and chewy dates. I'm very familiar with caraway seeds - the European version and also the Asian ones. And I don't get a distinct caraway vibe, more cinnamon and nutmeg. Definitely like Feminite du bois, but I would say less overwhelming and not quite as sweet, but definitely the festive gourmand category. Love! **Cumin note steps in on the drydown.

amazing sandalwood. this is very spicey, which I didn't like at first because sandalwood was burried under all the spices, but as I started wearing this in warmer weather everything balanced out, spices took a few steps back and sandalwood shined. all in all this is beautiful, easy to wear, quality is excellent (as usual for Jovoy) and performance is good.
