I have many Whiskey and Rum scents (see bottom for perspective). This starts out like a sweet fruity blended Japanese Whisky. A few minutes in and a gorgeous overload of spice hits you - exactly like my Firey Goan Indian sauce - after 30 - 60 minutes the sharpness disappearS leaving the beginnings of a sweet vanillic, fruity rum with a touch of spices and a teeny touch of tobacco (not the ashtray type some suggest which is misleading). After that the vanilla becomes more prominent so I’m not sure why it’s so low on the table vote. Like my bottle of Jovoy Remember Me this lasts 8-12 hours and can project magnificently at a linear level though it is not thankfully too in your face other wise people may think you are drunk. Ultimately this is a gourmand as the vanilla is what lasts and the other notes play around it in the long drydown but the notes give it an edge that makes it very male orientated. It is anosomic to a degree but a movement of my arm send a powerful waft - I don’t get reviewers claims as I just received my bottle after sampling it for a year so it surely isn’t a reformulation - so hmm I wonder where everyone else got their juice? @blackrussian always has honest reviews and his would indicate nothing has changed. It also reminds me of Ex Idolo Ryder vaguely which I own - it’s more syrupy and has a slight camphorous tinge but I prefer this now. If you like Rum and gourmand this a goer. This was my second Jovoy, and I went into it mainly because I have a soft spot for tobacco notes (and it was a blind buy). That said, tobacco is not really the dominant player here, at least not on my skin and not throughout the evolution. What I get instead is a very spicy, sharp, almost peppery composition, even though pepper is not listed in the pyramid. The softer boozy facets and the vanilla are there somewhere in the background, but they feel largely overshadowed by the spices. This is not a smooth rum-and-tobacco comfort scent; it has more bite, more tension, and more character than that. I really enjoy the opening minutes. They push hard, with a pungent, aromatic force that immediately makes the fragrance feel serious, dark and elegant. But what I appreciate just as much is the way it slowly settles down. It becomes thinner, closer to the skin, more intimate, almost discreet — without losing its personality. To me, this feels deeply French: refined, slightly difficult, elegant without trying to please everyone. Not an easy fragrance, not a blind-buy fragrance maybe, but a very classy one. Spicy, mature, intimate and unmistakably niche.

may the perfume gods forgive my earlier blasphemy regarding les jeux sont faits. this is not a fragrance, a mere perfume, it is an experience. i admittedly have gone over the deep end after wearing this again. maybe it was one spray too many, or maybe just the cold dry day which made this hit me over the head with a bat. whap! there is nothing that i can compare to this. it is all the negative and all the positive things others have written. it has all the complexity of blackstrap molasses. a thousand micronotes submerged in the darkest sugar/burnt caramel perhaps, it is simply when the stars align and one can sense the intense glory of lying in the gutter, shitfaced, looking at the heavens and being at one with a universe. notice, i did not write "the" universe; but, "a" universe of a complete experience. an experience involving all the senses, the mind, and emotion. i have no idea how it projects, nor how others may perceive it on my skin. but do i care? no! this is poetry. dark, inscrutable, unsettling, on this side of nausea. the sweet sweet acrid prevomit. ugh, you say. lick an ashtray, curse the dawn.

I'm not sure if I received something else in the original discovery set labelled the Les Jeux Sont Faits on vial, but the scent doesn't quite match the pyramid mentioned. Anyway, what I got is a beautiful bitter green and strongly herbal mugwort charge with a shot of absinthe that lasts. Not much of a gin there, but if I think ilong enough maybe there was some... for sure no leather and no warminess, not any hint of tobacco. This was vividly deep dark green herbal and clear booze, after an hour there goes drop of high society rum with non sweet vanilla - but masterfully blended. A gentleman or ...tall woman dressed only in a black jacket with a neckline all the way down under her navel, no bra underneath and unbuttoned...for people who know their worth and are not afraid to gain others attention. Mystery, obscure, erotically attractive... Anyone has tip for perfume that could substitute this one? Seems discontinued and renewal is not planned :(

I could've sworn I'd reviewed this one already...oh well. I'm wearing it today and I have to say this is exactly my kind of scent. It's a resinous, warm but slightly dirty perfume which definitely embodies the heavy tones of amber/booze/tobacco vibe which is both sweet and sour. Sticky prune in the top as it settles a bit. There's a definite earthy, vegetable vibe from the angelica root and patchouli but perfectly balanced with the rich labnanum and general balsamic feel of Les Jeux sont Faits as a whole. All in all, a well balanced scent which is a nice blend of notes. Personally I felt the performance let it down slightly and not because I was expecting a longevity and projection beast more because a heavy scent like this deserves to shine. I must say I like Jovoy's own creations they definitely have something about them, without setting the world alight.

I deleted my old review because I ended up getting a full bottle and all 100ml just came in the mail today. Boxed with such care like a bar of gold was in it. The absolute best offering from the house currently, imo. The longevity on this stuff is amazing! Silage is right where is should be, don't want it to be to loud or it would ruin it. I find this to be my mischievous scent bc I know when I pass by people they are going to smell this and wonder who I am as they have never smelled anything like this before. It's boozy, it's smoky, it's subtle, it's soft it's sweet, it's woody it's everything I want it to be and wears different each time..the bottle and packaging are second to none, heavy cap beautiful Amber color juice..heavy thick glass..just perfect. You earned my attention and coin on this one Joyvoy...just what I expect when I purchase niche.

I am a BIG fan of traditional masculine scents. When i saw the note break down on this fragrance I knew I had to try it. So I did a blind buy of a bottle And I am so happy I did!! WOW! Just WOW! Boozy, tobacco, woody, smoky and a little sweet opening, what is NOT to love about this scent?? Les Jeux sont Faits is a deliciously well balanced scent that is warm and rich, with hints of darkness. Wearing this one puts me in a speakeasy in the prohibition days. The booze, the smokey tobacco, the leather chairs in the dark wood of the secret bar. I find this one to be incredible. It is quickly climbing my favorites list. Bottom line: If you like Masculine scents, you should try a sample of this one.

83)Tested and approved, I think the cumbo cumin-tobacco drives me crazy in perfumery. At first I was surprised by his fruity-liquor side, this fragrance is really sweet and reminded me of The Dandy d'Orsay. This fruity notes held long on me and it was only after several minutes that I recognized the description of notes here. So after a moment the perfume passes at the illegal table games, people smoke unfiltered, drink without regard to road safety, there is the retro side of the toilet water from the mafiaso seated. It is a little bit intimidating, but in fact I find it rather wearable for a woman too. Ignoring the 60' macho decorum it is mostly a very addictive spicy oriental.

Beautiful fragrance, here the weight of the aroma falls on a beautiful combination of rum and tobacco on a woody bed of patchouli. The fragrance is sweet but not gourmand, amber and not overpowering. The trinomial contributes en bloc to the resulting aroma, adding the other essences within a set where the balance is very harmonious. The resulting aroma is nice, pleasant, directed towards the masculine side, but without too much impact. I like the aroma of tobacco here, it is somewhat shy in potential, but it smells very rich. I am not very convinced by the projection, since, although it performs well, it immediately sticks to the skin. Rating: 7.5

Have worn this regularly for a few years. A great perfume, especially in the cool air and rain. Has a sharp bitter-sweetness to it that cuts right through any grayness. I find it very unique but easy to wear. Could be that it's an acquired taste, as it doesn't have that typical men's designer background to it, and some might find it overly smoky and spicy. It's its own thing, and has much to say. Leans masculine. Probably won't win the hearts of those around one. A very special perfume. I need this one in my wardrobe for wet, gray days.

Smoky, boozy spiced rum+rum resin fermented in a wooden barrel. It's also got cooling, fresh herbs from the backbone, so it doesn't get cloying. Smells just like aged rum raisin colour. Not as sticky or sweet as many other rummy fragrances. Dries down smooth, spicy tobacco. Full of style and class. Utterly unique and memorable — so attractive. Cumin doesn't scare me in this one. I’d like to praise this as masterpiece, for both the scent design and the blend. This is easily my favourite scent from the brand.

A splendid tobacco and boozy fruit compote, with one of my favorite herbal green notes, Angelica. This feels decadent, thick and yummy—a masterpiece in blending. All this and with a very natural profile, Les Jeux sont Faits has a new fan. Les Jeux sont Faits has been labeled and gendered for men, but I got my sample from a female Fragrantica swap partner, and I think l could pull this off too.

A gloriuos scent! My favourite in the entire Jovoy line-up. A very rich and deep masculine scent, dominated by rum, tobacco and cumin. I get two unlisted notes very distinctly too; chamomile and incense, somewhat reminiscent of Biehl Parfümkunstwerke’s Mb03, but without the pink pepper. Had to order myself a full bottle on first sniff. Longevity is really good but not exceptional.

i remember some old time bars where there was a large, i mean really large, jar of pickled eggs. although, i don't get any sulfurous notes of eggs, i do get the waft of pickle juice in a bar. i get the wood. i get the boozy smoky "dirty." and then there is the perfume. she is not here now, but a "lady" had been here. her scent lingers.

I just tried this from a lucky scent sample, And oh my god this stuff is beautiful! It reminds me a lot of marquis De Sade 1740, but without that disgusting imortelle note, I love this stuff, And unfortunately, lucky scent is out At the moment , I was ready to order my bottle! Also the tobacco note and the cumin really add to this..

Oh yes, this one I like and want! Of all Jovoy samples I received today, this one impressed me most. Too bad I can't pronounce it's name without errors :) Rum, tobacco, and even something like gunpowder. This is the scent of Fidel Castro's or Che Guevara's office - manly, militaristic, powerful, Cuban. DO WANT!

Initially I found this as a boozy tobacco scent. Now my perception is this is rather boozy amber. Nevertheless it's great. Perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness (not a sweet-bomb like Pure Havane or Herod) and projection (it's not going to offend anyone; it is just fine). My favorite from Jovoy. 9.5/10

a more balsamic/herbal amber with lots of angelica, tobacco, petitgrain, cumin, patchouli and labdanum in the top then it sweetens and smooths out and is a lovely tobacco/labdanum in the middle and an incredible ambery fragrance in the base; very dry, nonsweet and smooth but lovely

Just got a sample today. And wow . The Cumin,Patchouli, Tobacco and Labdanum are quite dominant. When combined it gives off a Woody scent. Quite appealing to me. I love it. The opening you might need to get used to. It is a strong opening . The Angelica is what that strong note is.

Still have a soft spot for this. Slightly sweaty sweet rum and cumin giving a blended whisky vibe pushes out a touch of vanillic entertainment in the background two hours in. Not as strong as some of Jovoys other offers but quite addictive none the less.

An old wooden Parisian café, alcohol stains already deep into the sticky wooden floor, a regular client is sipping gin as smoke leaves his lips. It might have been raining all day long, but it is warm and safe in here looking through the windows.

Took me a few wearings to truly appreciate this fragrance. This is one of the most boozy fragrances I have smelled, this is what jazz club should smell like. Jovoy puts out some good bangers! And is an underrated house if you ask me.

Interesting, I didn't know this was a male fragrance until looking it up on here. Overall, I really like it. Boozy, syrupy, sweet. Reminds me some of Laurence Dumont's Vanille Noire. Average sillage, good longevity.

Fantastic boozy spicy fragrance, It is very mature and masculine. Great for dressed up occasions and works perfect in cold weather. Performance and projection are no joke.

You gotta love Jovoy. They say Cuban rum on the website, what i get is rough barrel proof ocean aged Cachaca. This is what the titty twister smells like inside...

heavy clove-like cumin on my skin initially then dries down to a dry and boozy vanilla. It is wonderful, if not the best performer.

Smells like vermouth - spicy booze. Nice

Labdanum absolute is a rich and complex material, which just by itself can suggest dried fruits, herbs, liquor, leather, and faint vanillin like sweetness. Its tremendous fixating power and longevity has the ability to dominate the composition, and that seems to be the case in Les Jeux Sont Faits. It overshadows all other artistic strokes, but thankfully it possesses a wonderful aroma. Late into the dry down, we see a similar accord to the one in Costume National Homme EdT, where the labdanum is tempered by some sandalwoody molecules and patchouli distillates. Overall a very mature and sophisticated aroma, one that I envision for a self-assured man, who has no interest in mass appeal, brand names, or claims of the use of expensive ingredients. Labdanum truly works in every season. In cold weather, it suggests spicy and resinous warmth. In warm weather, it suggests fruits and sticky aromatic poplar resin.

Les Jeux sont Faits is the second Jovoy I've tried. The first, Private Label, I tried last year and I rated it pretty low due to it's sugary, smoky BBQ sauce scent. Les Jeux, OTOH, is really nice. It opens with more of a bite from the angelica with some sweetness from the dried fruits note. Soon after, a beautiful woody-resiny-boozy blend appears, including the patchouli, tobacco, labdanum and rum with a touch of cumin to give it a slightly dirty edge. I mean, this is really good stuff. Not so obvious in the air, but close to the skin, the bite of the angelica is initially still there but it slowly fades. Longevity is excellent. I got almost 12 hours out of it. Projection is at the top end of moderate. More of an evening fragrance and very masculine. Could work on a summer night in AC. Jovoy has a real winner here.

Les Jeux sont Faits is a classy tobacco-woody scent with a serious old-school vibe. It opens with a bitter, herbal punch — almost like a shot of strong liquor mixed with dried herbs, gin-like in character. Then come the rum and tobacco — warm, boozy, and a little rough around the edges. Unlike many modern tobaccos, this one isn’t sweet at all. Cumin, patchouli, and labdanum take center stage, giving it a dry, spicy, and slightly smoky feel. It smells like dark wood, aged leather, and a glass of rum in a dimly lit bar. Very grown-up and confident, with that “gentleman who’s seen some things” energy. If you enjoy rich, boozy tobaccos without the sugar, this one’s right up your alley.

Boozy, green, the angelica and the sweetened dry fruits, and the airiness of the gin balances dense and slight fresh elements well in this, while maintaining the green fern like vibe throughout. It evokes an image of sitting by the fireplace in a wooden cottage on the hills somewhere when it's cold, dressed up. Patchouli comes through in the opening, and as it dries, an ambery incense-like nuance is detectable too. Overall a seemingly old-fashioned, boozy, upscale scent, slightly reminds me of Ombre Noire by Lalique as well. If the notes catch your interest this is a worth try as for me it did not surprise me much. 6.5/10

This is listed for men but me, being a women, LOVE this!! It is lovely and dark at the same time and it has a huge sillage! I must admit that this isn't the only masculine perfume in my wardrobe. But this one is really unisex in my opinion. Of all Jovoy's this one and Private Label i like most. But all are masterpieces in their own way depending on the person that wears them. PS: I have Eau dÍtalie Bois d'Ombrie and that's not even close to this one. Not the same family, not the same skincolour, not even the same bloodtype! So Piscopo, go wash your nose because yours is definately misleading, lol!

This one is a really interesting take on an amber. I see some people have tagged Amber Absolute as a reminds me of, and yes I do get that too but its AA in the background with other things infused into it, as unlike AA this isn’t a sticky warm amber this is a darker, dry sandy amber. I think its the ashy burned tobacco and cumin that is giving this sandy feel to the fragrance, and they fit in very well. Booziness comes into play a touch for me but I don’t get as much of that as I do the herbal yet dry amber and tobacco, but maybe that will come with future wearings. Quality stuff.

I can't tell if I like this. As others have said, it's related to Tom Ford Amber Absolute - one of my favorites - but its inclusion of angelica and cumin make it greener and somewhat reminiscent of a spice rack. It certainly performs well at least, with great projection and good longevity. I'm going to keep testing this but I probably won't end up getting it. Edit: I'm still conflicted over this. Sometimes it smells quite similar to Amber Absolute, but with a bit more tobacco and the added cumin, and other times the cumin is overwhelming. I think I'll settle for a decant.

بوی مشروبی خیلی خوبی داره. تغیرات بو نداره و بوی مشروب در کنار رگه های گیاهی خیلی نافذی داره. بوی تلخی گیاهی نداره ولی حس گیاهی رو هم حدود ۳۰٪ منتقل میکنه. بوی توتون رو باید تمرکز کرد که متوجه شد و بوی توتون خشک نمیده و بوی توتون دود شده رو میده It smells very good. The changes have no smell and the smell of alcohol is very penetrating next to the herbal streaks. It does not have a bitter herbal smell, but it conveys a herbal feeling by about 30%. You have to focus on the smell of tobacco to be noticed and it doesn't smell like dry tobacco, it smells like smoked tobacco.

More Gardenia from Jovoy. I don’t want to be a vegetable, and I don’t want to smell like one either. Luckily, the scent does develop. Strong petitgrain and tobacco leaf in the overtone. Masculine, smokey and deep. The harmonics come on slowly but this does turn into a smooth, balanced blend. Mild rum mixed with strong cumin in the undertone. Powerful, interesting blend. Challenging, mature wear. Overall, the herbaceous vegetable garden accord is too redolent for my nose.

Beautiful boozy gourmand, with a soft juniper opening. (Gin) I'm not normally one for juniper but it's soft enough to just give in an edge of herbal. Lots of spices, quality resins. Definitely not a sweet fragrance but still feels like a Christmas cake, with the rum and raisins and spices. Soft tobacco adds to the slight masculine lean of this fragrance but it's definitely unisex.

Angelica and I don't get along - she knows what she did. And her bitter little friend petitgrain gets on my nerves as well. I can appreciate this fragrance after the strange sour herbal opening rolls off, but then it turns into a somewhat subdued amalgamation of TF Amber Absolute and HdP 1740 Marquis de Sade. Excellent, but redundant for me.

This smells like Carthusia 1681 x prunes. It's got that old cedar chest vibe with something distinctly pruney. Like a witches creeky old apothecary type-smell. I love that this feels evocative for all who smell it and I can just imagine the many differeing scent of memories this scent would conjure up.

Boozy , patchouli fragrance with angelica on top and heart. A real mature male scent. Its the mixture of 1740 and La liturgie des heures. Big bold tobacco boozy scent which only meant for cold winters Scent:4/5 Performance:4.5/5 Age:+40

This is one of those French concoctions that hovers dangerously close to parody : an old world mix of musty fruits and alcohol alongside a brave attempt at distilling the essence of existentialism, as portrayed in Sartre's novel of the same name. To be fair, the phrase "Les Jeux Sont Faits" is also used in card games, meaning "the chips are down," but the French would never allow ambiguity to get in the way of quirky word play (or the presentation of a new fragrance). The fragrance settles down into a patchouli and sandalwood base but there is also a lingering bitter and rather stale element in the mix (the angelica? the booze?) which denies this fragrance "like" status in my mind.

Opened veeeeeery greeeeeeen. Almost like crushed fresh herbs were added to the bottle. And yes, bitter too. Dank bitterness similar to what you smell in Chinese medicine shop except there its dry bitterness. I bought this because it’s supposed to be somewhat similar to Amber Absolute which I can’t find in the market. Can’t seem to find the amber here yet.

This is HEAVY. Its spicy, boozy, woody, sweet, boozy...boozy and boozy. Imagine a gentleman's club. This is where this belongs. Right by a cigar and some high quality liquor. And dont forget a tailored suit.
