Pavillon Rouge It smells of ancient, sea-soaked timbers from forgotten galleons. It carries the scent of Scottish sailors, of dried sugarcane sweat upon weathered decks. The fragrance of whisky aging in oak barrels deep beneath the ship, among the damp, shadowed stores. The scent of pirates. Of drunken mariners singing over the gold coins they have just plundered from a fallen ship. The scent of sinking into the abyss of the dark sea. The storm before the assault, and the fevered joy of victory after the conquest. No, this flag is not red, never! It is black. Utterly black. It is the scent of Captain Edward Kenway, of Shay Cormac, of Jack Sparrow himself. It is the fragrance of the mighty Jackdaw, the alluring Morrigan. This is the scent of those who command the sea the men whose laughter echoes through salt and thunder. I wear Pavillon Rouge tonight. The air is cool; the night is silent. From the very first breath, I cannot imagine myself anywhere but aboard the Jackdaw, watching over the vast, merciless ocean. Below deck, a grand table stands before me spread with maps of seas, islands, cities, and hidden treasures. The room is lit by countless dim candles; the air thick with the scent of rum, tobacco, and damp wood. The silence feels alive and heavy with untold stories. Then come the shouts- wild, growing, transforming into the roar of men. I step outside. My crew is ready, a merchant ship has appeared, the one we’ve hunted for months. I command them: “Hoist the sails! No time to waste!” The drums roll. The cannons thunder. The sea trembles. When the battle ends, laughter fills the deck, the scent of gold, tobacco, rum, and victory mingles with the salt air. Pavillon Rouge opens with this storm - raw, unrefined, deliberate in its roughness. It burns the senses with rum, whisky, and harsh tobacco, for this is no time for calm. Then, gradually, the storm subsides. Leather emerges, not loudly, but proudly, saying: I am here too. And as peace returns, balance is restored, like the silence that follows triumph. It whispers of the truth: that men, though marked by turmoil, can be purified again, cleansed of deceit, restored to sincerity. And yes, the soul of man, can be changed. For I call “perfume” only those creations born of art, love, and philosophy, not those made merely to please the crowd or chase profit. Pavillon Rouge is not a perfume. It is a work of art. As beautiful as a Da Vinci painting. A creation clothed in love, artistry, and thought, holding within it everything beauty requires. May you always be scented with love.

As per Jovoy’s tradition, this is an elegant and discreet fragrance, with a truly remarkable evolution that unfolds in three very distinct stages. The opening greets you with a lovely boozy, woody, and fairly dry note that strongly recalls a well-aged whisky of fine quality. After the first half hour, it’s occasionally joined by spicy and almost fresh nuances, creating an extraordinary effect. In this first stage, which on me lasted exactly one hour, the perfume reaches its maximum strength and projection, with a noticeable but never intrusive personal scent bubble — on the contrary, it’s thoroughly pleasant. In the second stage, everything becomes softer, even gentle, as the boozy facet fades almost completely, lingering only as a faint background hint. The dominant notes now are leathery tobacco, tea, a touch of coffee, and very delicate spices. Perhaps some benzoin too, though I’m not entirely sure I can truly pick it up. After another couple of hours, Pavillon Rouge loses a bit more strength and I begin to detect a further evolution — a sweet accord that manages to surface, though only lightly so: rounded, subtle, and miles away from anything cloying. At this point, it gradually fades until becoming a mere skin scent after about five hours. Longevity on clothes is roughly the same. Pavillon Rouge exudes great class and stands far apart from the messy concoctions made by certain so-called “master perfumers” in the niche world. It’s definitely not the right choice if you’re looking to leave a strong trail or be noticed from afar. In my case, the only regret is its limited persistence within the personal scent bubble — a fragrance this good, I’d love to feel it more, and for longer.

I really love Parfum by Dee April, how its sweet but not sweet, spicy leather but clearly unique, how saffron tones down tobacco so its luxury itself, serious but not dull, young but not incomplete and even with all this it can be rough around the edges, it is too harsh in few moments... ...then I found Pavillon Rouge with its peanutty-sesamy cozyness, coffee fullness - like a silhouette, interesting person of opposite sex that becomes important to you almost instantly...matte brickly orange lipstick on her lips, richly thick hair ending just above her waist and the semi-transparent dress...only if the light could shine from your direction, she is going to kiss you, perfectly aged brandy in a glass that was sipped from but the alcohol soaked amply into the wood of the barrel that its not a drunken kiss but you are left there intoxicated, opening eyes for just a glimps of WHAT THE F**k where is she damn it!?! Yeah, can someone explain to me why the longevity is SO WEAK? After an hour you are left with...nothing. No i refuse. That perfume is so well rounded, so essential, so voluptous please...make a version that lasts at least 3-4 hours. Im tempted to try layering of two aforementioned and see how their baby looks...or smells in this case. Is there a fragrance like this that lasts, have you encountered? This smells amazing! Once the boozy opening settles, a woody, spicy, warm, leathery, dry tobacco and not so sweet vanilla follows, that is just my type. I personally like that the booziness doesn't stay dominant, atleast it doesn't from this sample and that's fine by me. Its not too loud but has a present and confident quality. I don't find anything animalic here, though I would fully welcome it if it is more prominent in the full bottle. I have had a few instances where a spray from a full bottle unfavorably differed from a sample so I hope that isn't the case here. Jovoy, where have you been all my life...since exploring the house I feel like I could've saved so much time and money just starting here. Everything Ive tried so far has excellent quality and Yet I know experience is only forged one way so..the road here probably highlights the appreciation. Looking to welcome Pavillion into the scent-drobe soon. I'll add the other half of my 2 cents after a fuller wearing experience.

This is one of my favorite perfumes. There's some fragrance houses where I like everything they make, Jovoy is not one of them, they have some of the most putrid crap I've ever put on my body. However this one I loved!!! I got a 2ml sample from my last purchase in their store and just picked this up as I finished the sample. It's not as common as other brands so I needed to take a train for an hour to go to a store that sold it. This is a perfect scent for a cold day, it makes you feel cozy. I see it as fitting for a man who is assertive but has a sensitive side too, the type that would enjoy wearing a cashmere jacket. It's sophisticated, doesn't smell synthetic at all. it has restraint yet it's quite a pleasure to smell at the same time. This is an appropriate perfume for a date night, it's intimate and sweet. I feel like it's unisex leaning more manly

Pavillon Rouge does not bring to my mind a swashbuckling scene, but more of a high stakes card game on an expensive leather table where there is no smoking; and a player still opens a pouch of fine tobacco for the aroma, while sipping a glass of Three Ships whiskey. There are some other drinks at the table, but not as aromatic, coffee and maybe a vanilla/tonka chai tea off to the side somewhere. The fragrance is definitely unisex and maybe leans ever so slightly masculine on my skin. It is not overpowering like some Jovoy scents where you might feel a bit self conscious if you were wearing them in close quarters. Well blended and classy. Get wafts from this after it had seemed to disappear and imagine the trail it leaves is quite pleasant.

This fragrance is a clear signature perfume for me (I am not ready to have only one signature perfume). I can relate to most comments below except that I do not find any sesame scent and I am not appalled by the scent after spraying it on, quite on the contrary. I can relate to the opinion of the person who finds cannabis in it. I find Pavillon Rouge round and comfortable, great for winters. The gourmand aspect makes me want to repeat the sprays throughout the day. The whisky, wood and tobacco elements suggest that it would tend to be more for men and I agree (I am a woman). I do not really understand the name though. A true gem if you ask me.

The crème de la crème of boozy tobacco fragrances. This smells exactly like a humidor of unlit fine cuban cigars, Demerara sipping rum (think El Dorado 12yr Old), dark woods (ebony) and a few spices. This is the fragrance for men who like wearing suits, sipping fine spirits and smoking fine cigars. Sadly it has a limited sillage but I'm glad it's not over-the-top either. It could be too much, but it sits quietly in the background, giving people little whiffs of these wondrous notes. I wish I could find it on discounters. I'll have to bite the bullet and pay retail for it. It belongs on my shelf amongst my favourites.

What an extremely wonderful fragrance! Juice quality is just pretty good. I would say it's a gourmand fragrance for night and cold time, hangouts with friends too. My favorite perfume by Jovoy. The opening is a little boozy but pretty fast and start all the notes untill the end. Age: 30 above Longevity: Long Lasting Sillage: Moderate I would buy: Yes, for sure Blindbuy: No. it's not for all To resume: Sweet, spicy and little boozy. The combination of vanilla, tabacco, benzoin, leather and spices are worked very well with no strong notes. Well balanced.

It's a high quality whisky matured in fine wood barrels, it's a brand new leather jacket. It's a vanilla flavored tobacco burning with balsamic resins. It's a lively alcoholic note as soon as it's sprayed, opening up just after a minute with warm woody accord and then closing up in a bitter and enveloping scent, like ground coffee or cacao, with benzoin and spices that are keeping up the vivacity throughout all the evolution, with a soft leather note as a foundation from beginning to end. It's a dance of all the colors of the fall.

Excellent Fragrance ! Elegant, Classy, Sophisticated, Boozy, Spicy and Unique. I tried it in store and I received a sample of that. This is on my Radar and I must try again. In my opinion, It has a masterful and Well-blended Composition. The Tobacco note is very unique in this perfume. It opens up with slightly sweet, warm spicy, boozy and Tobacco note in the background then dry down is semi sweet Ambery and Woody with Tobacco vibe undertone. Longevity is good. It smells similar to the box of cigarettes. Thumbs Up. Rating : 8 / 10

Jovoy is synonymous with excellent perfumes and absurd quality of raw materials. And Pavillon Rouge is no exception, where excellent alcoholic notes of whiskey and rum blend in a masterly way with spicy, leather and tobacco notes to give life to a unique and quality composition. Warm, enveloping, boozy, with these spicy and leathery notes that give it depth and character. A perfume for self-confident people, adults and masculine, I consider it a fantastic perfume and a must have for lovers of this genre!

Come at me if you want, but this is 100% walking around a Pier 1 Imports store back in the early 00s. Also, the initial blast reminded me of sauteing apples with bourbon, sugar, and spices for apple pie filling. Only lasted 5 minutes before going full-on Pier 1 mode. Still a great start to the ebony-leather-spiced-tobacco-walking by a cafe while eating a sesame candy-woods-scotch switchover (Pier 1) for the remainder of its life. Full bottle worthy. Unisex as hell.

Masterfully blended. Spices atop whiskey (no rum). Very alcoholic but doesn't ruin my nostrils or explode my brain (*laugh in Jeremy lol*) like Fan Your Flames (I hate this) or Pirates' Grand Reserve (so sweet), which I personally find more ostentatious. Its wearers are so fancy and classy rather than spicy. Dries down spicy, dry wood perhaps that's ebony. One of the best liquor perfumes, in my opinion. I don't think I'll pull this off.

One of the most accurate blended scent. Boozy, leathery and somehow Delicately sweet. 50% similar to M.M.M Jazz club but far better. It projects mild in comparison to jovoy’s other perfumes however it portrays a middle age, serious man with a fade smile in formal suit. It will satisfy you if you are into boozy perfumes. Love it. My signature scent, I have 4 bottles and plan on getting more. I will never forget when I first sprayed this I thought it wasn’t anything special, then 5 minutes later it turned into this gorgeous boozy tobacco scent. It’s unique, it isn’t for anyone, you need to enjoy these kinds of scents. It’s dirty, it’s boozy, it’s mysterious, and dark. Absolute masterpiece. And highly underrated.

Amazing boozy tobacco scent. It has a freshness (fruity?) that I can’t pinpoint and it disappears pretty quickly when applied on skin. On clothes this freshness lasts a long time and is what makes this scent a 10/10 for me. Too many of the tobacco scents have a honey note that make them sickly sweet to my nose, this is not one of them 🥰

I love this one. Rich and indulgent. Sometimes I find the sesame a little too strong, imparting a kind of anise flavour I don't enjoy. Then it settles and everything is fine. Something to wear whilst enjoying a decent aged tipple in a cigar lounge in Cayo Coco, bathed in jazz. This is what I'd hoped for in Jazz Club.

Absolutely love it. I love boozy and tobacco fragrances and this one does both very well. I find performance to be great too, so it is a bit baffling that some folks here have a different experience with it. Every nose is different, I guess.

Oh my! Oh dear! THIS!! This is heaven in a bottle! Cinnamon, Rum, Tobacco glory. Give it some legs and it'd be the sexiest thang walkin'. But m'lady is weak I'm afraidst. Performance is to be desired. But still, I shall BATHE IN YOU!!!

Sometimes (not always) there is nothing more satisfying than sinking into a scent like this. I’m amazed only 3 of the 16 “reminds me of” current suggestions have benzoin listed as a note as for me this is what elevates PR to greatness.

somehow so dirty yet clean at the same time. a little too masculine for me to pull off but oh so sexy on a man. leather and tobacco are very strong, but on me it also has a bit of a clean linen scent at the back of the scent.

Been wearing this everyday for years. On my 7th bottle. This stuff is intoxicating. I have gotten tons of compliments as well. 10/10

Awesome! Rich, elegant, and sophisticated for nights in cooler weather. This is exactly what Jazz Club MMR should smell like.

This is the mature version of Jazz Club, and it lasts longer. Not sure it justifies the high price point though.

Gene Kelly in The Pirate (1948). Particularly the "cigarette kiss" scene. I feel deadly when I wear this.

I don’t agree that this is a unisex fragrance. This is very much masculine to my nose

This is the fourth Jovoy I've sampled, and quite easily my fave. The opening is a little harsh which I don't find unusual and the boozy and spicy notes are the most detectable. Tobacco then briefly comes to the fore before a delicious Tea note dominates about 30 minutes in. The Tea note for me is the dominant note for the remainder of the fragrances duration, supported beautifully by initially leather and tobacco (I didn't pick up coffee) and later by the benzoin and vanilla. The previous Jovoy fragrances I've sampled have been rather bold beast mode scents. This is quite different. The silage is close to moderate, and the fragrance is comforting and cosy, quite delicious. I got around 7-8 hours longevity before it became a strong skin scent for at least another 6 hours. EDIT I wanted to make some amendments to my review after a 3rd wearing from my sample before going ahead with a full purchase. For me this is an ideal day to day winter office fragrance, and while I have many fragrances that are winter/fall only they tend to be on the potent side. Pavilion Rouge while being unique and memorable it's quite understated, the silage is fairly close too making it an ideal fragrance for the office. My main concerns with the fragrance were around its longevity. After a third wearing I can adjust my original estimate of 7-8 hours to 9-10. I look forward to meeting the lovely people at Jovoy Mayfair to make a purchase next week.

Very well built perfume with good ingredient quality and blending. What's interesting is it's unique, but at the same time it's not. Jazz Club, Blvgari Black, and Vanille Havane? Sure it shares some notes with those, but saying they are similar is like saying everyone with blonde hair looks the same. But that's what we do here, we try and find something to compare it with. If you put a gun to my head I'd say it probably shares the most characteristics with Atkinson's Oud Save The King, and perhaps Penhaligon's Blazing Sam. I think it's better than the Atkinson's, but not as good as the Penhaligon's. So yes, the relation with many scents are there, but it's not really that close to any of them, hence my feelings of being unique but also familiar. The sweetness jumps out but it's balanced out with the coffee, tobacco, leather. The booze is there too along with a smidge of tea, some vanilla and wood round things out. I think it's a good perfume but it doesn't jump out as being a top notch tobacco, leather, booze or wood. It's almost too balanced and proportional to really stand out or excel in any particular genre. Don't get me wrong, this is a really good perfume, but it's not exceptional IMO. Scent 7.4/10 Performance TBD

This is like a 50/50 mix of Whisky & Cedarwood and Cafe Vetiver (both by Jo Malone), but in the drydown the leather pops out and is like ELDO Tom of Finland. It’s hard for me to find the same resemblance with any of the other “reminds me of” suggestions (except, maaaaybe, a little bit Don by Xerjoff, but just a little bit). It’s ebony (nice dry dark woodsy touch, goes well with the whisky); whiskey (pairs well with the hint of sesame seeds, which tames the abundant booze in the composition, but supports the flavors), tea + tobacco leaves (like in Tea for Two), a mix of spicy vanilla and benzoin + rum (feels a bit like tonka, it’s the same rum I smell in the gold bottle of Black Orchid), polite leather. It’s a well blended scent that I wouldn’t mind smelling on a cold day in an office, because it’s understated and elegant. I like it enough to try and wear it for myself. It won’t suit me, though, it’d be best on a man. If you are not looking for a monster-sillage that lasts for days based on suggested resemblance with Red Tobacco and the likes - but a more intimate scent to blend with you and compliment you naturally, it’s an easy blind-buy recommendation from me! It doesn’t last much and needs reapplying.

Pavillon Rouge was my 5th full bottle from this incredible house. I have to admit I overlooked this one in initial testing round and when I got back to my samples I loved it and had to get a bottle. It’s very well blended tobacco fragrance, unisex (leaning more masculine on me). It starts with boozy mild whisky accord mixed with sesame which I find super rare and very unique. After 3minutes tobacco starts to play main role till end. When I say tobacco, don’t imagine smell of cigarettes or heavy smell of burning cigar. Image a mild, dry and almost sweet smell of tobacco leaf used for final roll of cigar. Like very well-maintained humidor in high class whiskey bar. Mild sweetness is coming from very mild leather/vanilla accord combined with slightly dry woody accord with coffee (coffee here reminds me golden dallah from xerjoff). It has a good projection (5-6 hours) with solid silage. This is a fragrance suitable more for night and autumn I would say. Will definitely wear this one for chill dinner evenings in a good restaurant finishing with glass of good scotch and cigar. It really increases my mood every time I wear this gem and I am super happy to own this bottle.

"Drunk" coffee tobacco vetiver patchouli benzoin Although Pavillon Rouge feels quite rough around the edges and at times a bit brutish, i can't help but grin when smelling it. Its essentially a woody composition based around a good dose of vetiver and patchouli in the core, dressed in a smoky slightly leathery tobacco cloak, sweetened via coumarin vanillins and round sandalwood compounds (particularly Ebanol jumps out at me) from below. It feels initially encased in a rough textures of spice and coffee grounds, feeling quite angular and at times oddly blended. The cherry on top is a large whiskey opening accord, sweet yet slightly caustic, very much like smelling an recently emptied whiskey vessel. Where it really comes alive is on the skin, mainly the dry coffee ground like accord, but also the woody notes gain depth and dimension. In terms of gentleman's lounge noir type fragrances that make you feels like a stumbling Arthur Shelby, Pavillon Rouge is on the top of the list, a more refined streamlined evocation of a similar theme, more so introspective and sombre rather than all out debaucherous, is indeed Lubin Idole.

Dressed up and elegant. Captivating and delicious. Potent but not too potent. A polarizing winner. Pavillon Rouge has familiar notes but I haven't smelled a blend like this before, it's niche level in both scent- and blending. The tobacco note was familiar right off the gate, as well as whiskey, rum , tea and benzoin . Everything in this just mixes with each other perfectly. Dry and somewhat rough on the edges, PR can be polarizing as it has a rather strong presence and there's something in the notes that makes this smell a bit raw and harsh, to put it bluntly? The blend itself smells fantastic and you can easily wear this with semi-formal fashion, but this "raw green"-quality has me on the fence, it seems to rub my nose the wrong way. I don't do drugs but this "raw"-quality reminds me of something in that area..? Pavillon Rouge leans male and I can see this as unisex scent, but it takes a special type of woman to pull this off. IMO this has nothing to do with pirates and buccaneers. It is worth sampling. A polarizing winner, in my books.

Rich, strong, intoxicating, boozy, tobacco, leather perfume! Masculine, cold weather only and signature worthy fragrance. I decided to get a sample of Pavilion Rouge because I saw it has rum and whiskey and I do love a boozy scent. And I liked the name, it’s very unique named. Unfortunately, the alcoholic beverages scent is just at the forefront of the fragrance, in the opening, for about a minute and then evolves into a deep, dark, spicy, woody, tobacco/leather scent without any hint or vanilla or sweetness, and it pulls very masculine on my skin. It’s not a bad scent, it’s amazing actually, but it’s one for the masculine gender! As suggested in the reminds me of section, Pavilion Rouge is indeed similar to Beat Caffe by Jusbox and somewhat similar to Jazz Club. Jazz Club is more sweet, aromatic, less intense and more unisex in my opinion. Therefore, if you like this scent DNA, get Pavilion Rouge since it’s way cheaper. The performance is great as well, so you don’t have to compromise on anything!

A lot of great reviews have been written, so I'll be short: this is a beautiful boozy vanilla, with a hint of tobacco (or leather, maybe?) in the background. Quite linear to my nose. While not exactly identical, it is very probably inspired by MMM Jazz Club. But PR is a big improvement on JC! I found JC overpriced for what it is, and so do I find PR. That said, if one plans to spend JC's dollars, it's worth putting the extra bucks and go directly for PR. Whichever should be your choice, what you are primarily going for is not booze or tobacco or leather... Keep in mind that in both, the main player is VANILLA. (but a very balanced one, not a cloying sweet pastry) For a more speakeasy/underground bar 'vibe', I can't recommend enough Jovoy Les Jeux Sont Faits (best suited for 30+ crowds). There are some very good descriptions on this already that I agree with below, especially the one that describes an ebony liquor cabinet. I'll go with that too, I was first thinking a dark chocolate and tobacco but I think the strong woods and bit of coffee are what's giving me the dark chocolate vibe. I could imagine a dark wood liquor cabinet or table, that has had booze soak into it many times so it has that tannin yet fruity sweet essence infused into it...then you are using this surface to roll your cigarette or pack a pipe with fresh tobacco. In the background there are sacks of spices being transported for sale. It is somewhat gourmand with a dates like sweetness and vanilla rum, but not fully so due to the darker notes mentioned earlier. Excellent stuff, another winner from Jovoy in my book.

This is a very nice tabacco leather fragrance and I love these notes. These combined is a feast. I definitley get patchouli, even though it ain't listed, and it gives a slight smokey-ashtray burned tabacco fume, but not offputting heavy. The opening is very boozy, but I don't know if I smell the whiskey over the rum or the other way around. And the best thing for me is that I don't get coffee at all, because I don't like the coffee note in perfumery. Could be the coffee note that act's like the patchouli note, that would make sense. I only hoped for this one to have more longevity and a more heavy scentbubble. But I'm not oversraying this one either, that would be to dense for my comfortability. Because this still is a powerfull concoction.

There is a sweetness at the heart of this fragrance that immediately draws you in. Like all good compositions, the notes - notably of sweet tobacco and tea- are skilfully interwoven, as if you are passing through an elegant hotel lobby in Paris, en route to the opera. A woodsy, vanilla and incense dry-down sends forth comforting waves of quality and balanced good taste. Forget all the perfumer's nonsense about pirates and buccaneers (as well as those tedious reviewers, arguing about what this fragrance "reminds" you of!) Pavillon Rouge is an invitation to relax into a large, well-upholstered box at the Palais Garnier and snooze luxuriously, wrapped in a warm blanket of fragrance until these dramas have reached their noisy conclusion.

Recently I got a decant (wanted to try it for the tobacco and coffee notes) of this and it is different than expected from the note breakdown. The scent starts off with a boozy-dry spice accord, which is quite nice. Later on the leather comes in, and I also get hints of tobacco and mate type of tea (but no coffee). However, it is all very smoothly blended without rough edges. Towards the dry-down (6-7 hours later) the smell kind of disappears on my skin and only a faint sweet woody smell stays, not really impressive. Concluding, the scent is nice, but far from giving me a wow-factor. I'll give it a 7/10, and not FBW in my opinion.

Starts a bit nutty (sesame) & "minty" with persistent light booziness (more whisky than rum) and leatheriness; tobacco—rounded by vanilla—slowly rolls out and becomes prominent yet seamlessly blended. Overall feels dry & sleek like polished ebony with a cool aloofness that's surprisingly calm. I picture a late-20s male who's an "authentic" hipster (not the trend-following wannabes) with dashing mustache wearing a messenger hat and a vest, sitting at a quiet & dimly lit bar sipping whisky while exchanging conversations in an interested, down-to-earth, yet sophisticated manner.

An undoubtedly enjoyable fragrance more or less. It starts off a bit too sweet for my liking, which is often the case with tobacco compositions. So unfortunately for me, the magic does not really happen until it dries down. It is there when you are greeted with ebony wood, leather, and benzoin. It’s such a wonderful aroma of burnt creamy woods with a bit of tobacco leaf. I get more ebony wood out of anything though which I truly enjoy. Might not be full bottle worthy, due to its thick sweetness, but regardless, my respect for this fragrance remains untouched.

I’m not a fan of leather or tobacco in perfumes. This was a free sample I received with a purchase. I didn’t even look at the notes when I smelt this. Looking at the votes, it’s funny... I didn’t get leather or tobacco. I did test my sample as soon as it arrived, so maybe it would be different if I’d let it recover from shipping. I mainly get rum and spices, with something in the background I can’t identify. I’d describe this scent as spicy, smooth and kind of fiery. It’s an enjoyable scent. Not full bottle worthy for me, but nice. Perfectly unisex

Pavillon Rouge is exactly what it says on the tin: boozy, sweetened tobacco. It’s rich, it’s bold, it’s masculine-of-center. There’s a slight, unexpectedly savory smoked-peat note that I enjoy. One of those “den fragrances” — it’s Dad’s Wood-Paneled Study, with leather overstuffed armchairs and an ottoman, and an antique globe, and his cigar box and his liquor cabinet. This sort of thing is not too original, but done right it’s a pleasure, and Jovoy delivers reliably high-quality instances of this type.

Pavillon Rouge opens with sweetened, dark liquor. Hints of barrel woods, spices, tobacco and fresh green tea gradually add to the scent. A background of leather and styrax/vanilla is gently presented The heart of this scent reminds me of both Jazz Club (Replica) and Homme Parfum (CdG). An interesting smell both fresh and boozy, spices on top of sweetness. Skew more masculine. A worthwhile sample and a good purchase if you don't have anything similar.

I can see the reference to jazz club but it’s not really at all similar. Jazz club differs with a rum accord instead of whiskey, Neroli and lots of pink pepper. Most of the sharpness/harshness in jazz club isn’t present here. To me PR is the better option. Excellent opening and realistic whiskey/tobacco accord. This is just so much more nuanced, complex and versatile. Not my favorite from the jovoy line up but still very classy and wearable .

Parfum complexe... Un mélange de tabac et d'alcool ( rhum et cognac ) l'ouverture est super forte , âpre et amer avec le tabac froid. Ca dure à peu près 5 min Passé ce temps des notes sucré et douce commence à venir et il est vraiment beau , classe et unique. Malheureusement le sillage et la projection sont tres moyen comme la plupart des parfums de la marque Jovoy... La tenue aussi est décevante 🫤
