Cafe

All fragrances in this line are pretty poor performers, and are fairly linear. However they are extremely photorealistic to what they claim to portray, and this scent is no different. It smells EXACTLY how Japanese sweet bottled coffee from vending machines smell. It is NOT how you expect espresso or a European cafe to smell. I never wear this, I just spray it to feel nostalgic about Japan.

I don't understand why people hate this. This smells really nice and comforting. it has that coffee note, but it's quite subtle. This actually reminds me of a local coffee shop that my friends and I frequented when I was still living in Nakano-Shimbashi. Scent: 8/10 Projection: 7.5/10 Longevity: 8/10

This is what my grandmother drank back in the '90s—Nescafé with milk and two sugar cubes. I love it. It lingers close to the skin, a sweet, liqueurish, granulated coffee scent with a sublte hint of generic white flowers.

I would never have imagined coffee and orange blossom going together, but this is blended so well and not overpowering. Love it!

A nice sweet and almost chocolatey coffee fragrance, I like it, but the performance is a bit lackluster

I like sweet coffee fragrances, but every time I try to a full wearing of one, I get tired of it after about an hour and scrub it off - my favorite for this is Coffee Addict from Theodoros Kalotinis, but like all sweet fragrances, I just get sick of it after a while. So while exploring J-Scent via samples, I wasn't particularly interested in Cafe, thinking it would be another variation on my usual experience of coffee fragrances, but ended up grabbing a sample impulsively anyway. Surprisingly, this is maybe the first coffee fragrance I actually want to wear all day - the vanilla is downplayed and the orange blossom instead adds a less smothering floral sweetness to the coffee, which is also subtle compared to a lot of the more well-known coffee fragrances. It's definitely light, like all the J-Scents, but I think that's the only way this combination of notes would have worked. It's like you sprayed on a really nice orange blossom fragrance and then spent several hours in a coffee shop - you've absorbed the smell of coffee and the orange blossom has had time to die down and soften. Very comforting and cozy. Edit: Hmmm. Third time wearing Cafe and this time it's reading as just stale, sour coffee. Not sure what happened there.

This one is very nice! Other than what you might expect, that „Kōhī“ /„ Cafe“ is not a full-fledged coffee fragrance. Rather than that, it is wafts of florals (there are orange blossoms in here, but I mostly noticed the purple flowers which must have been violets according to the pyramid) interlaced with pleasantly bitter coffee. You smell it in waves: florals-coffee-florals-coffee; you get the picture. Overall, the fragrance felt cozy without being warm. Also, it never gets too sweet, which I like. I would call this one unisex and suitable for most age groups. The fragrance lasted around 6 hours on me. After testing it once on my skin, I remember thinking that „Kōhī“ /„ Cafe“ is going to be one of my probably-will-buy candidates. It gets a strong like from me.

This is very interesting. In the air, there is a floral (i'm guessing its the orange blossom and lily of the valley) smell and it smells really nice. Up close, you get the coffee and orange (smells more like orange chocolate to me). It's very interesting that its got a different character to the smell up close and in air the. Projection on this one is definitely on the better side (strong to mid) and longevity is pretty good too. I was not expecting that cause most of the frags from this brand are on the lighter side. As it dries down further, the chocolate orange smell goes and the floral notes stay with a hint of vanilla. Overall, it's a very interesting multi faceted perfume that can work in both spring and autumn.

The coffee scent is there, but it’s neither strong nor rich—it just feels like neroli mixed with coffee. In the base notes, much of the coffee fades away, leaving behind a sourish scent. It’s my first time smelling a coffee perfume with this kind of progression—quite unique.

Coffee...maybe a touch of chocolate? Then mostly violets with a touch of orange blossom. Nice. I like it a lot as a violet lover but don’t see myself wanting these notes together often, I think it’d have to be a fall scent/sweater weather fragrance.

J Scent Cafe is like hot coffee with a lot of brown sugar added, with aroma of creamy white floral and golden crisp marshmallow skin. Overall it is light and lovely.

Okay this is totally artificial grape mixed with coffee. It's good in a weird way? Should I be adding grapes to my coffee in the morning?

smells like coffee and sugary orange chocolates

It’s a very bizzare scent: I have mixed feelings. I can’t say i dislike it but also I can’t say i love it. It’s definately different to perfumes i know. It opens with a sharp scent -I’d describe it as artificial floral, alcohol like. I jonestly don’t smell any orange or lemon. Coffee is there but under this first sharp scent. With time some vanilla sweet note appears. No cedar for me to notice. 2 hours later - Cafe becomes much nicer, softer, pleasant. Definately a perfume dedicated to more adventurous:)

This is extremely floral, with only a hint of coffee. The opening does have a tad bit of that coffee bean smell, that lingers throughout the smell but it’s really only in the background. This doesn’t smell bad it just doesn’t smell like a “cafe” lol. This is more so orange blossom forward with a very powdery violet and some airy lily of the valley. I’m not huge on florals so didn’t love this but it’s an otherwise okay scent.

A coffee drunk among a sea of fragrant flowers. Cafe tastes of slightly burnt, delicate coffee, made creamy by the violet and balanced by the slightly bitter traits of the orange blossom, which also give it fresh undertones. Very realistic, for lovers of this really wonderful note.

a surprisingly light fragrance. vanilla coffee with some citrus and powdery florals. it's sweet yet unisex. i think it's maybe a bit too heavy on the powder (which is like a fancy white floral-scented talcum powder), which when combined with coffee turns a bit harsh on the nose.

I really liked this when i first got it, idk how. Sometimes it smells soft and cozy, and other times it smells like a gas station bathroom. One of the weirdest frags I have for sure. Do not recommend unless you really like unique coffee notes (definitely dont blind buy)

orange and orange blossom but hardly any coffee... strangely rustic and natural for a scent titled cafe? unsure what the name is supposed to be getting at. fine perfume, smells cheaper than it should, don't know if it's for me

I'm a big fan of J-Scent but this one doesn't work for me. I found the orange blossom a little overpowering and it just didn't work with the coffee note, which pulled a little sour or bitter on me.

Smells like coffee and urinal cake and gas station bathroom pink soap. The base is vanilla or a tad amber-y. Not a fan. I actually found it a bit nauseating and disjointed.

Woah, VERY powdery. Like baby powder with a bit of coffee. Not for me.

Artifical grape mixed with a cheap latte. It's not good. 3.5/10

smells like artificial coffee candy at a retirement home

On my skin it smells very strongly of raisins/ artificial grape and a touch of a roasted coffee bean. I’m not too sure why the only thing I smell is grapes when none of the notes listed are grape adjacent but the smell of this reminds me of exploring Shinjuku and randomly walking into a old Timey coffee shop that serves dark chocolate mouse and really, really bitter black coffee. Although my judgement might be clouded by my own experiences in Japan, I do think this scent is a bit too grapey for my liking, which is odd because I do love the artificial grape scent that this gives off on my skin. I bought this for my mom as a gift, and she loved it so much she went back to Japan on a work trip to get another bottle.

I’m really surprised how low of a rating this gets. This is a beautiful, soft, comforting scent. A little sweet, a tiny bit flowery, grounded nicely with a subtle coffee. Dries down really pretty on clothes, but also unique, almost ethereal. I’m gonna get a decant.
