Hydrangea

This perfume was indeed different for me. I usually lean towards heavy thick florals. {Bvlgari Magnolia Essentielle, Sergé Lutens Datura Noir, Velvet Rose & Oud, Gucci Bloom, Isabey Perle lys noir} I came across this while looking for a nice violet perfume. Something that's green not dry, floral not flat, Violet that's fresh not powdery. Something ethereal and young. Not antiquated has the infamous old lady smell. Well, I just described this scent. J-Scent Hydrangea. Hydrangea has many varieties. Only the Japanese Hydrangea is the one with an actual fragrance. Because most Hydrangeas don't have much of a scent, if any. This perfume is really quite lovely. As it smells very ethereal (not weak). With a airy floral and honestly a fresh/green violet scent that's surprisingly detectable. I liked the idea of using different notes and blending them so well they actually smell like something else. In this case a hydrangea -violet smell If you like perfumes like Mojavè Ghost or Molecules. You'll enjoy this.Not that it smells like them. But it performs like those types of perfumes. Very ethereal, airy, and cloud like.But, with a freshness and light floral scent This is hands down the most unoffending fragrance I've ever smelled. Nobody would be offended by this. Great for work. Especially if you work in nursing or with patients or very close to people. Most people enjoy the scent. It's longevity is moderate. Spillage and projection is close to the skin. Maybe 8 inches away someone would smell this very well. I sometimes add a little violet oil to my Argan lightweight oil. After a shower I spray it then rub the oil in. Then spray the perfume on. It doesn't change the scent of the perfume. Boosts a little violet, seems to increase the silage and longevity. The price point isn't bad at all. Around $100 for a 50 ml bottle at Lucky Scent. Maybe less if you can get a Promo code. I did. I ended up paying only $80 with free shipping and a few nice samples.

I'm a flower girl. (Six decades in). Raised with every possible garden and farm flower imaginable. Bulb, seed, succulents, shrubs, bushes, trees, vines, wild, annuals , periannuals etc etc.So, I know what is meant by yellow florals and white florals. But, this perfume smells like the colour "VIŌLETTE" (blueish-purple). When I close my eyes and inhale. I immediately see purple. A light to medium shade of violet-blue. Every time I sniff. I smell the exact colour of the violet blue hydrangea. Now, typically Hydrangeas don't really have a strong floral fragrance. But, it is interesting how though it doesn't smell like hydrangeas per-sáe. When I smell it, it is the exact thing I think of. It's very nice perfume. Not powdery, a bit sharp violet in the beginning. Surprisingly more floral than I imagined it would be. Though not a over the top floral scent. Most violet perfumes rarely have an actual flower smell. Usually dry powdery. But to me, a violet perfume that is a bit green, and decently floral. Oh colour me violet, & happy. Nice. I can't give silage and longevity an accurate review right now. Because I've only worn it once. I loved it so much I kept applying a little more frequently than I should have. Not that it needed it. But, I sure did. Lol

I love a moody floral and this scent really hits the spot. The manufacturer describes this as watching flowers bloom in the rain, and I think that is quite accurate. Its a very clean floral, bordering soapy, but that is the sort of floral I really enjoy. There is something really quite enchanting about this scent. It lasts decently long, the opening it is a bit strong to be honest, and that is where that soapy quality really cuts through, but it dries down into something powdery and lovely. It makes me want to sit outside in the grass and let the rain pour over me. If you are a fan of a melancholic type of floral, than this is definitely at least worth getting a sample of.

I am what one would call a crazy flower lady. (No I cannot grow a flower for the life of me trust me I have tried.) I LOVE powdery floral, and I am a die-hard fan of anything with flowers. And it just so happens Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers! (Next to Jasmine, and roses along with other things) But I find myself smelling this and swooning. It is moody, flowery, and it tickles that part of my brain that goes monkey mode for anything with flowers in it. I highly recommend this, and if you still have some coin after this, totally buy the ramune one! It is SOOOOO good! And I am usually obsessed with flowers but the ramune perfume also tickles my fancy!

This was so enjoyable to sample! It is such a lovely and captivating fragrance. And although it could be warn year-round, it really sings during warmer months. This smells of spicy sweet, musky white florals on me. So gorgeous.

Hydrangea by J-Scent smells identical to its name - this literally smells like a fresh hydrangea bush blooming in Spring. This is a gorgeous white floral scent that has some powder and musk elements that somehow manage not to overtake the whole fragrance, but rather provide some much-needed depth. More than anything, this perfume smells FRESH! I honestly couldn't believe all the notes in here because it literally just smells like hydrangeas, musk, and powder (probably the jasmine). Upon further inspection, the cedar and rose are definitely apparent in the dry-down. Sileage and projection are literally perfect - not too much, but certainly still there. The longevity is decent too - a solid 4 to 6 hours. This is what Musk 12 by Kayali thinks its doing. Overall, if you are looking for a photorealistic hydrangea scent - this is IT!!! Beautiful spring time fragrance. Rating: 7/10

This is opens as a delightful melange of hyacinth, muguet and jasmine with its opening somewhat reminiscent, oddly enough, of Royal Bain de Caron, growing more violet musky its development. Further on, its dry, paper-like, powdery, and more vanillic. This begins as a lovely hum but fast withdraws into a whisper, holding so much promise only for it to slip through a sieve and become a silver candy-wrapper phantom scent within an hour. It just makes want to reach for Paco Rabanne Metal and have a rip-roaring hyacinth ultra-green blitz—far more satisfying.

It's a very clean floral, predominantly hyacinth along with some jasmine and lily It is very fresh floral, clean and indolic with some musky powderiness in the background I have been really enjoying the hyacinth scent lately so I like this a lot But I'm wondering, could it smell like a bathroom cleaning product to somebody else, idk haha

This smells like smelling a Jasmine flower. Personally, this smell is very Jasmine heavy, but it I really like it (not being racist but my family said this reminds them of Indian people). It is a clean, green, and like a sweet nectar from a flower typa scent. I'm really sad I accidentally broke this perfume.🙁 I'd give this a 7.4/10!!

Hyacinth, cold cream, soap and dewy greenery. I know hydrangea doesn’t have much scent, but if I was guessing what it smells like, I’d probably go with something papery. This is the opposite. Cool and moist with the intense early spring perfume of hyacinths blooming in rain speckled gardens. Feels like a vintage perfume.

I agree with the reviewer below me, this really does smell like the color purple, and this is what I imagine fairyland would smell like, I didn't enjoy the opening though. It smells different on the tester and my skin. If you could, try this first before you purchase it. Scent: 6/10 Projection: 7/10 Longevity: 8/10

Up front, this is a super beautiful lush, humid, realistic Jasmine-forward scent. The first thing you get are those realistic florals. The only thing I don’t like is there’s this green, vegetal, almost banana candy-like quality in the first few minutes of the opening, but it does fade. Overall, it seems to be a great realistic floral scent! I’m still wearing it though so I’ll update my review if that changes. Edit: there’s a weird, powdery, almost cheap candy-like thing in here. I don’t like it as much as I did.

At first spray this smells like Always maxi pads and Lysol crisp linen disinfectant spray before the dry down. Straight up public bathroom cleaner. Then thankfully once it settles smells like a REAL vivid jasmine and hydrangea bouquet. This is as real as you can get - if you don't do well with green and realistic indolic white floral accords then stay away. The initial whiff is offputting to my nose - was expecting it to be a more soft, pale blue/purple and dainty floral scent.. my bad for falling for the listed violet and iris notes along with my fond memories of hydrangeas outside of my childhood home. This is not a purple fairy scent to me!! Extremely white and green to me. Interesting how scent and color association differs from person to person because others got purple from this. Not for me but is for someone else.

This is hands down the most indolic fragrance I've ever smelled. First spray smells like floral bathroom spray to cover up the smell of poop, but the drydown it's truly 99% poop to me 😂 my husband started gagging. I can't think of a less safe blind buy at all. Definitely sample this but know that there's a chance people around you are going to think you smell like floral poop.

Hydrangea is an odd number. To my nose it's primarily a sweaty white floral, that flickers between lush and soapy over the wear time. It opens with wonderful, and surprisingly indolic jasmine. Within a few minutes however, it's joined by a soapy, cloying, fairly nebulous white floral note, that I suppose is hyacinth. Unfortunately the mix of the two is a little sickly for me. Bringing to mind old fashioned soaps pressed into little flower shapes. Through the dry down it gets a little dry and powdery, not at all aquatic as the Fragrantica notation suggests. The iris is barely-there, lending more texture than body to the composition. I detect no violet or cedar anywhere in the drydown, indeed the late drydown turns rather softly vanillic on my skin. Ultimately there's quite a lot here to like. It's an interesting take on a white floral. Not at all shrill, instead, rather grey and melancholy. If not for the soapiness threading in and out of this, it would be a firm 'like'. Projection is at the low end of moderate. As is longevity. Enjoy on warm, rainy days. Jump in a puddle.
