Yawahada (Soft Skin)

Beautiful and fruity opening with very realistic Pear note. The style is like in J-scent's perfumes - very Japanese, subtle, sophisticated, cozy and classy. The opening in these scents is attractive and unique, even intoxicating but the scent itself is shy and doesn't bother anyone. They are somewhat skin scents. Even "Roasted Green Tea" which is very strong tea in the opening fades out during 5-10 minutes and if thinking the opening and the rest part of the scent it seems that those parts are from the different scents. There is a logical step between though. "Yawahada" is comforting lactonic scent with the most delicate rice powder and Jasmine. The fruity aroma from Pear lasts longer than the fruity notes in "Hanamizake" but after the opening it settles down into the same level with the middle notes giving it a shy sweet character until the dry down. Rose is recognisable as well, it's innocent and fragile. All this beauty has the matching base with the softest white Musk which you can find, the most delicate Amber note ever and the most velvety Sandalwood in perfumery instead of a dense and creamy one which we are used to in Western perfumes. The longevity in these scents is good but there is not so much sillage in them. Each of these three J-Scent's perfumes are suitable not only to wear at the office but to enjoy the calmness in them at home as well. They are so cozy and comforting offering you some kind of inner peace whether it s needed at work or at home. "Yawahada" is absolutely my favourite of these three mentions perfumes but I definitely want to discover them more. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. I am a bit disappointed. I had a sample of Yawahada and fell in love instantly. It was a bit soft, but I loved the scent so much, I didn't care. It was creamy, beautiful sandalwood, I also sensed the milk note (which I adore) and a pinch of sweetness from the pear note. Sexy and musky. I've ordered a full bottle of it and couldn't wait to get it. But now, everything is different. The pear note is really strong, sweet and sticky on me. It gets softer after awhile but it still stays dominant for quite long. At the end, it is something similar to what I've experienced with the sample, so I still love it. But really didn't expect it to be so different. EDIT: I am wearing it for a couple of months now (not constantly) and it has became one of the irreplaceable perfumes in my collection. Although I am still not in love with the initial pear note, I have definitely fallen in love with Yawahada. I find it very special and important. The feeling it gives me is very unique and I mean this in the most positive way. I find it modern, rich, comforting, but exotic at the same time. It may not last for long, but it definitely doesn't disappear. It stays on my clothes and hair and mostly, it has a very good influence on my mood even after I don't smell it anymore. I have tried some other samples from this house and I love a bunch of them, I think they offer a variety of very interesting niche scents, that I have never smelled before and are very special and beautiful. They are maybe a bit faint, but for the price, it is totally worth it.

A pure delight. I didn’t really get the pear others pick up on and primarily got lactonic on initial spray. There was something a little grandma ish about it, like it smelled a little more mature to me but not in a bad way more like you’re hanging out with your cool stylish grandma who’s gonna take you out shopping or something else comforting and endearing. Then on dry down I got a really really subtle paired down combo of like a skin scent but almost mixed with a hint of their roasted green tea fragrance (which I find to be quite similar to the now discontinued Tea Escape by Maison Margiela) but with this beautiful floral hint shining through that actually reminds me of the also discontinued Miss Dior Cherie L'Eau! A very welcome nostalgic throwback! But don’t be thrown off by the potential intensity of all those references- it’s way more natural and subtle than any of the other scents mentioned- just some reminiscent notes that work wonderfully together and feel so balanced. My only real complaint is the scent overall is truly subtle, truly intimate, truly a skin scent, and with limited projection. I personally like just a hint more projection but it does have decent longevity. A bit on the fence about whether I’ll commit to a whole bottle but regardless, it is fairly affordable for the quality and it’s been a joy to experience nonetheless.

I’m honestly scared that it’s going to get discontinued someday because when I smelled it I immediately knew that not only was it a full size but it was an immediate favorite. There is something in here that reads very sensual to me. It does smell like pear for sure, but on the dry down you get this very soft skin (yeah) scent that I could only describe as the scent of a postcoital steamy shower and you’re washing yourself down with a lightly scented soap. It’s sweet and the milk comes through very appropriately without veering into curdle territory. The jasmine and rose are light and not overly domineering to the point where the fragrance becomes too floral. And the rice just sits beautifully. No major projection but I don’t mind, this is meant to be intimate. I can see how some may think “baby wipes” but to me this is just gorgeous. Be careful with how much you spray though. Main criticism though is that it really could use more of that juicy pear throughout, because it can become a one dimensional lactonic fragrance after a while. Love it badly though.

The opening of this perfume is the juiciest asian pear, but it isn't overpowering. It's just like the smell of the fruity juice and a fresh fancy hotel towel. But it also smells like a clean white marble countertop you just wiped spilled milk off of. Then you get the essence of rice steam specifically from a high-end rice cooker in a clean cozy apartment that belongs to a modest yet interesting person, and that is the type of person who would wear this scent. The silage is pretty intimate, but if you spray a lot, you can get some mild projection. It stays close to the skin because it is a skin scent. About an hour in you start to get more of the milky and amber notes. It turns warm like a steamy meadow sprinkled with dew in the early morning on a sunny day in May. The smell of a mild sweat from riding your bike through a path lined with flowers. It's all these mild yet beautiful smells mixed together perfectly, no one note overpowering another.

When I first tried the sample, the first impression I got was this baby's skin smell, which I didn't like (seems to be the milk note ppl voted for). I didn't think much of it, and wore Sumo Wrestler instead which I liked immediately sniffing out of the bottle. Then I found Sumo Wrestler to actually give me a headache when applied (too sweet on the vanilla/amber) and I came back to this. It's a really addicting smell. The pear note is sweet and fun but is there for a really short time, and the milkiness(?) or cream of the middle just settles immediately into your natural scent. It's not too sweet, it's very comforting and clean smelling, like you took a bath in sweet rice water. It does remind me of this Korean rice exfoliator that I use, which is why I think I smell rice in it. Couldn't stop smelling myself lol. I ended up buying a whole bottle. Doesn't last very long, maybe 1-2 hours, but apply with lotion and maybe it'll last longer.

“A Comforting mothers hug” is apparently what I wrote down for this when I tried to write a review months ago. Weird how fragrantica saved that text here in the review box for me all this time later lol. But I guess that’s accurate. The perfect perfume to feel cared for if you ever need to. Actually my mom steals this from me a lot and has used most of the bottle which I was fine with bc I got obsessed with my other scents and barely reached for this but today on this tepid Sunday evening in late September it means the world to me. This is my favorite month bc of how close to heaven it feels and this aroma enforces that gently of course. At it’s worse it may come off flat. I stopped using it bc all I got was rose. But when I’m in tune with it my nose can pick up every note fluttering under my nose one feather at a time. I’m glad to have this

This is an odd scent to me. At the start the milk note almost comes across slightly sour. Not in a bad way just not in the creamy way most perfumes with a milk note smell. After that I swear there's a salt note. I know it's not listed but I swear it's there. The rice is not like other rice note perfumes (White Rice by d'Annam or L'eau Papier by Diptyque). It's not as paper-y. The florals are very subtle. To me, this perfume does smell like what it's meant to - soft skin. Like the skin of someone who's been at the beach. Not sunblock smelling, but a sort of saltiness with light powdery notes. At first I wasn't sure about this. The best word for it is 'subtle' and I tend to like scents to be a bit bolder. But the longer I wear it, the more I like it. It smells like clean, soft skin. A sort of 'your skin but better' scent.

Best lotion smell ever IMO. Not fruity despite the pear note, definitely floral. It has a lactonic addictive quality, creamy (and less harsh than soap) in a non-gourmand way. It's work safe and more of a skin scent meaning not strong on longevity though I can smell it all day. Very Japanese non-offensive public wear feminine quality, a bit on the humid side like the island nation, where beast mode is despised. Unfortunately J-Scent just raised their price of their bottles from $80 to $100, so if you like to overspray for extended wear, this may not be worth the price. And samples may not be enough to give a proper test.

i wore this to the hospital today. combined with the slight clean, bleach smell, it created such a comforting bubble of fragrance. i love how soft and sweet this fragrance is- as others have said, it is a very japanese perfume. very personal and close to the skin, but acts as a second skin. it starts as a very soft powdery scent, then quickly jumps to a sweet, almost sharp candied pear scent with slight florals- very much a safe blind buy. i will say though, i really don’t get baby head smell!! it really just smells like a candied asian pear. my favorite scent along with ghost in the shell

Tried this for a day of staying home and it was such a treat. I really do not enjoy soapy-clean scents and want skin scents to evoke warmth, so I was delighted that Yawahada kept a milky, soft richness all day. Pear can be tricky because it so often veers into shampoo or body wash territory, but this pear stayed creamy on me and lasted all day and into the evening. Also as someone who is still using baby wipes, lotion, and powders on my actual child I can say I felt like Yawahada was feminine and very me, not blending into my son's territory :D

Yahahada feels like a luxurious, comforting second skin. It’s warm, softly floral, and brightened by a touch of pear essence. The star here is the blending: the unique rice note stays perfectly balanced, allowing the sandalwood and amber to shine through the dry down that is nice and creamy. Savory, calming, and feminine-leaning, it’s an ideal daily reach for close quarters. The downside is that it is just a whisper after a 1/2 hour of indoor wear.

Lovely slightly soapy and musky skin scent. I don’t feel milk accord here but it definitely very comforting! What I feel here is a subtle fruity note - smells like a green pear with a tart yet powdery undertones. Nice and clean! Btw I have Zara Mochi and it smells completely different: the pear note there is more bright and fizzy and the base is way sweeter. So they have some similarities but not too many of them. Skin that smells good. The milky scent is suitable for all seasons and bedtime so I use it as bedtime perfume everyday. I don't think anyone would dislike it. Btw it may be similar to the "Deoco" that was talked about as "the scent of high school girls" in Japan though it is from my distant memory. 良い香りの素肌。ミルキーな香りは四季問わず就寝時にぴったりで、私も毎日の寝香水として使っているところ。この香りが嫌いな人はいないと思う。そういえば日本で「女子高生の香り」と話題になってたDeocoに似てるかも、私の古い記憶によればだけど...。

A gorgeous soap, floral and rice skin scent. Yawahada smells natural, fresh and the dauber vial I’m testing went on strong, considering this isn’t a spray I’m testing. I only picked up the pear note in the first 20 minutes, after the opening fades Yawahada stays linear. Luckyscent sells the 50ml size for $80. I think it’s a great deal considering the quality inside the bottle.

One of the softest pear scents, it's so smooth - like a pear jelly. There is an underlying creaminess to which really reminds me of being back in Japan and smelling a nashi (japanese pear). It's a very simple clean skin scent and because it's so simple it makes a great perfume to layer other scents with. The perfume reminds me of a softer version of 'Olfactive O Skin'

Was looking for a scent i could wear to remind me of Tokyo in one of those 8 floor department stores. I love to wear this after a shower. It starts off crisp and dries down into a sweet, milky scent that's more cool than warm. Smells like kissing the neck of a woman hanging white shirts up on the line. Subtle but lasts forever.

i got this last year around springtime and since then ive been waiting for march to come back around just so i can start wearing it again I wouldnt describe it as Dated or Grandma-y but more nostalgic and innocent It makes me just want to lie in bed and read all the early 2000s shoujo manga i used to read in high school

I love this so muchhh. The pear is juicy and fresh with rice and cold creamy milk... Really does give the impression of soft, freshly bathed skin. Projection is moderate but I find it surprisingly long-lasting for an otherwise more mild fragrance. Suitable year round honestly, don't think I'll ever get sick of this.

this smells exactly like Johnson& Johnson’s pink baby wash. Or a cheap “milk scented” body wash. I can’t say it’s not good, just not what I expected. It’s definitely lactonic and stays lactonic though. Im personally not smelling green notes or rice. A very safe scent for work.

one of my favourite perfumes and this perfume will always remind me of tokyo 2024. it smells like baby skin (so soft skin is an accurate title for this). the pear, milk and rice notes stand out most to me. an inoffensive scent and i wear this in the office sometimes

bought a tiny little sample from lucky scent and wow. it smells delightful on my skin!! like i just stepped out of the shower, absolutely lovely. it doesn't last all that long unfortunately, I'd say around 3-4 hours. my friend said i smelled like an old lady :(

Smells like a powder room in a nice way. Sort of reminds me of my nana. It is a pretty scent and I enjoy spraying it on myself before bed. I have not worn it in public, however. Lovely smell, I can pick up the rice in this but I wish the rice lasted longer

Don't understand the baby wipe comparison, it's much more than that! It's a soft sweet, milky-pear scent, almost like the asian milk candies paired with a juicy ripe pear. The dry down is quite delicate and supple as well.

In the first few minutes this perfume is a little grandma-ish/floral, but quickly becomes a little more masculine on me. It smells like I just came in from outside on a cold day. I love this.

sweet milk candy. soft and cozy. i ADORE this scent and although to my nose it disappears fairly quickly, this is surprisingly a compliment-getter for me. i end up reaching for this a lot.

Powdery, milky, and just a touch sweet/fruity. It’s calming and comforting to me but somehow a bit sensual and mature too. Very quickly becoming an easy daytime reach for me.

Such a cutie! A milky, soft, juicy pear skin-like scent. The longevity is indeed quite poor with an intimate sillage, but I love it nonetheless!

This is a light, airy, pleasant pear scent with absolutely zero longevity, sillage, or projection. It doesn't last much more than an hour, and it's a very, very light scent. I think this is made to be appealing to people looking for a true skin scent, one that's barely even a perfume. It has a certain Japanese aesthetic, I suppose, but it's a little too translucent for me. The scent itself is nice. I thought the fruit I was smelling was peach initially before looking at the notes here, but now I get the pear. I am usually very averse to lactonic fragrances, mostly because they are generally sweet and/or gourmand and that is not my vibe. It's a very light touch here, there's nothing too sweet turning it sickly. I really don't get much of the base notes at all. I think the pear, rose, and green notes work very well together, and the rice and to a lesser extent the jasmine give it a fuzziness like a cream-colored cashmere sweater. It comes across as a skin scent in the way that a person's scent is a mix of their own natural chemistry, plus soap, shampoo, lotion, detergent, all of those things we come into contact with on a daily basis. It's exactly what it says on the tin, a soft skin scent. Give this a try if you're looking for a real skin scent. There's nothing wrong with the fragrance; my gripe is with the performance, but I think I'm not the intended audience. I don't think the price is worth it to me, but I can see how someone would absolutely love this. 7/10.

Not very baby wipe to me. It’s probably my skin chemistry, but it’s white floral heavy with underpinnings of rose. I get someeeee milk, pear, and rice on the first few smells. It lasts pretty long. I put it on in the morning and still smell it when going to bed (morning showerer). It sits close to skin. Kind of something that would stick to bed sheets after the person wearing the scent left. After a while, it’s sandalwood and amber heavy, but still keeps its clean, sophisticated scent profile. I understand the people saying it’s soapy but I wouldn’t describe it as soapy, just clean. I always describe the scent as when you’re laying in bed and someone is showering, opens the door, and the steam and smell of clean trails in the room. Smells best on pulse points.

Delicious sparkling sweet pear with an undercurrent of something musky and doughy like steamy hot rice and then in about an hour ....nothing. Literal nothing. It’s a skin scent for me after that because all I smell is my own skin. Zero sillage and extremely short longevity. Sad because the pear was wonderful for the few minutes it lasted. And I agree with other comments about it smelling like a babies head. This would be a good sleep scent if you fall asleep pretty fast because it lasts just long enough to deliver you into dream land. Or for situations where you really want to wear a scent but other people absolutely should not be able to detect it.

This is distinctly Precious-Moments-core. It feels very like potpourri satchel in an underwear drawer in a bedroom decorated with all things Laura Ashley. There's definitely a bed skirt in this room, and it's scalloped. Bed is like 4-post. Oh my god, what am I smelling?! There is something from my childhood that smells EXACTLY like this. It's like a starchy, linen-y, clean but juicy pear, that feels distinctly frilly. I have not smelled the Love Shack Fancy scents yet, but it feels like that aesthetic, so I hope they smell like this. Really comforting and cozy but in a muted florals, clean & freshly laundered-feeling kind of way.

I was pretty put off by this at first. I thought it smelled like green jolly ranchers and baby powder, an odd combo and much too fruity and green for my preferences. But after a couple of minutes it dried down to a lovely lotion-like scent. It truly smells like soft, clean, skin. It’s fast becoming a favorite among my collection of samples. It makes me curious to try other scents from the brand - like Yawahada, many of them sound almost appealing to me based on the notes list but contain something that puts me off. I’m glad I took a risk on this one and I will be upsizing to a travel size once I finish my sample.

Soft Skin indeed. If you want to smell like you have pampered your skin in an expensive facial toner, this is it. I wore this opposite White Rice by D'annam and much prefer this, although I get a lot less of the rice note. Initial spray reminds me more of apricot/peach than pear, but that doesn't last either. I get the comments about baby wipes; there is a definite watery aspect to this, and a prickly, precise clean aspect that defines the "skin scent" that may be a good alternative for people averse to the warm and cozy kind.

Soft, delicate, and creamy. This is like Liis Studied but fluffier and more powdery. It is truly a dainty whisper of a perfume. The pear here is really delicious and photorealistic, and the touch of lactonic and powdery rice makes this a beautiful skin scent. I find most pear scents too soapy and synthetic, like Pear Inc. and English Pear and Freesia. Liis Studied and Yawahada are frontrunners for me. Unlike Liis Studied, a full-size bottle of Yawahada is under $100 which is not totally unreasonable.

It brings me back to when I was a kid and stayed at my grandma's place. I cannot stop smelling this, such good memory. It doesn't mean it smell old, it's just very nostalgic to me. It's definitely a skin scent. A good one. The pear is not prominent so it doesn't have that overly sweet and alcoholic smell to it, the florals are very blended also not prominent either. There is definitely lactonic quality especially in the dry down, and it will linger. It's soft, creamy, and beautiful.

on the card, it's baby powder on ice, then morphs into pure baby's head smell. really lovely. unfortunately, what i think is the pear note pulls pretty sour on my skin for a few mins before settling down to a Dove beauty bar + baby skin type of smell. this would probably be beautiful and a safe blind buy for most people looking for a "skin scent", my chemistry just doesn't totally agree with these types of fragrances. good office or bedtime/post-shower scent.

I can see why some say it smells of baby wipes, but a more sophisticated, luxurious lactonic facial toner fits better. The perfume is not nearly strong enough to evoke the image of baby products, in my opinion. It's a very soft, gentle, and elegant skin scent. A mature and youthful innocence would describe it, in that it neither leans too heavily into childishness nor elderliness. It can come off as being quite sensual in how natural and intimate it is.

The notes seemed right up my alley so I sampled this. Well, I like it but this is not exactly what was expected. Pear note is fresh and crisp and stays present from opening and through dry down. Rice note is barely there, overshadowed by green notes. This is not milky either, instead it’s slightly creamy/powdery like a body lotion scent. So overall, fresh green pear+soapy notes+florals Nice but not what I was hoping for.

absolutely gorgeousss scent. so so soft and pretty; strongly considering purchasing a full bottle! initial spray is very powdery and sweet but dries down into a soft and milky scent. i think i'm quite fond of lactonic accords. definitely a skin scent but also lasts surprisingly long? i applied this once in the morning and kept catching whiffs of it throughout the day, even after showering

just got a sample of it and it's so subtle and delicate; after applying, i only really catch whiffs of it on myself when i'm moving around. it's a soft, creamy pear, with a slightly tangy note (sour, but not unpleasantly so). not very sweet, which i appreciate. i just wish it wasn't so quiet... it's too shy for me, at least on its own.

What can I say other than wow mmhmmm yes. Ultimate comfort skin scent. This reminds me of what a lot of korean women would wear, along with chloe chloe edp. All my sisters liked it as well. Also if anyone has suggestions to similar vibes with this fragrance please message me!

This is a pretty almost delicate scent. I get milk, green, flowers, pear most prominently. I don’t get rice unfortunately. I will probably test on clothes. I have noticed that I get starch notes on clothes, not so much on skin.

This is a very understated and inoffensive skin scent. Very clean and soft, I do see how some may interpret this as smelling like a baby wipe, but I think it's pleasant and good for situations when you want a quiet scent.

this is gorgeous and should be a love, but the performance leaves a lot to be desired :/ it's pretty weak and doesn't last long, but ugh it's so pretty for the little bit that it lasts!! overall rating: 🩷🩷🩷💔🖤 3.5/5

Soapy pear opening, then fades into a pleasant warm musky skin scent. Smells like when you hug someone and smell the skin of their neck. Comforting and soft. Very intimate and low-projection.
