Emerald

I have several Judith Lieber frags, Emerald would likely be my fav if the longevity and sillage were better. It is such a versatile scent, mature, sexy, classy. You get greenery at the top, like fresh cut grass in Spring. If pictures of Ireland in the Springtime were a scent, this would be that smell, captured in a bottle. That's the bergamot, perhaps the raspberry as well, a bit tart, and it lingers at the forefront, along with a gentle musk, even as this morphs into an enchanted island nymph and a biker babe all at once. You can smell the dried fruits, and then the suede, oh, my! The suede is a bright, warm, fine leather jacket, giving off a hint of cigarette, as others have mentioned. Sexy, slightly sharp but not bitter, a tad sweet but no sugar bomb. That smoky suede sitting beneath the greenery. I want to douse myself in this every day, but I am not fancy enough for that. The bottle is elegant and classy, lovely on display. Totally fitting for this bright, sparkling green goddess perfume. I can't get enough of it. This one's a dressy lady, office on the upper floors, pointy heeled pumps and tailored slacks. Sexy but not shouting, "Look at me!" She doesn't need to, she understands the art of subtlety. She's put together, appreciates things that are a bit antique and styles that never go out of fashion. A nod to the past, with a twist on the modern. Totally a vibe, though a fleeting one at that.

Judith Leiber got me Again! Leather is a difficult but fascinating note for me. In this fragrance, I get a surprisingly strong, almost "Tom Ford or Cabochard kind" leather combined with some berries and sweet pralinary almonds. I find sweet dried fruits, fresh bergamot, nutty almonds and sweet praline too, but on top I definitely smell that, even little ashtray nuanced leather. For that reason, this hardly suitable for a novice gourmand enthusiast, I think. But if you’re looking for some sweet, unique, smoother, easier-to-use, "Tuscan Leather" with nice, little aquatic presentation and reasonable price, then ineffectively, I recommend thecking this hidden baby out!

Sophisticated and elegant. A beautifully balanced blend of dried fruits, supple leather, and powdery almond, softened by a delicate hint of praline. Sweet, leathery, and airy-powdered all at once—it evokes La Panthère vibes. And that bottle? Absolutely worthy of praise—pure elegance.

this starts quite sweet- i get the dried fruits, bergamot and praline quite strongly, then the woods and suede come through which helps tone down the sweetness a bit. then i get a smokiness from the leather. this seems like an experiment with opposites. it's a bit too sweet but i think i will re-try in cooler weather. trying in cooler weather: still way too sweet for me starting out. i get all dried fruits, praline and that strong hairspray note i get in some modern fragrances...usually it's musk but i don't know what it is here. it gives me a slight headache. it's much better when it dies down but the beginning just won't work for me. i wish it did but something here just goes too sharp with my skin chemistry.

I absolutely love this perfume, but this is not a safe blind buy and I wouldn't recommend for someone young or just starting their perfume collection. When you first spray this, you can smell the rich sweetness of the dried fruits and rasberry, tempered by the almond. In the dry down, the sweetness of the fruits takes a back seat, allowing the suede to really comes through giving the fragrance a deep smokey, almost cigarette type smell, but in a very soft and sexy way. This perfume reminds me of the late 80s when I was young and would wear a sweet perfume, a leather jacket, and go to clubs. It's nostalgia in a bottle.
