Couture La La Malibu

Tropical Orange-Blossom & Peony with Guava & Frangipani... Opens with a tropical fruity burst of mandarin & guava with citrus, clean, fruity, velvety, sweet, watery, fresh & tropical nuances, that transitions to a tropical floral heart of peony, orange-blossom & frangipani with powdery, tropical, floral, powdery, aquatic, velvety & sweet tones, all resting on a floral support base of musky-sweet woods. Overall I get a tropical fruity-floral with a shampoo & tea vibe in the drydown, and smells a bit like tropical Herbal Essences shampoo. Overall: Average or slightly above average performance for a light spring-summer wearing experience. It's a love for me. Enjoy! Contrast to Coach Poppy Flower: My first impression of this was that I was smelling Coach Poppy Flower, but this isn't a clone, and Couture La La Malibu leans a little more tropical but without the crunchy green ivy in the opening. A very similar vibe. Update 02/20/24: Coming back to this after smelling Clinique Happy and I realize it there is a similar vibe here of orange-y citrus over a fluffy near-peony/peony, except this leans a little more orange-blossom. Way into the drydown there's the Juicy Couture tag/signature that distantly evokes the drydowns of other Juicy Couture scents. Still a love. Update 05/25/24: Sprayed this on my arm today, and it's so nice - really shines in the heat. Overall an orange-blossom & peony scent with some tropical accents from guava & frangipani. There's also a very faint hay note there a little bit into the drydown. Every time I spray this I love it more.

At the checkout line, you pull on her sleeve and point at the display holding miniature beauty products and weird tech accessories. “Would you get that for me?” It’s a double-sided roller ball with Malibu and La La. You cross your fingers behind your back in hope. You have seen the most beautiful “women” (15-year-olds) you’ve ever laid eyes on in your (10-year-old) life dressed up in that exact font. You want to breathe and be it: the spray tan, the belly button ring, the bleach blond chi-flat-iron straightened hair, but most of all, those velour sweatpants with the rhinestones on the butt. This is it. Your first step towards womanhood. She says yes! This is now your signature fragrance until you turn 18. The pink side is for school. The orange side is for church. You ask for it for birthdays. You revisit Kohl’s with birthday and Christmas money. But someday, you’ll forget about it for years — until it’s 2:43 am and you’re 26 going, “what was that rollerball perfume called again?” I’m nonbinary now so I hate this fragrance on me but when I was trying really hard to be a girl it was absolutely my favorite. So if you too want to be a girl — hard, full-stop recommend for both Malibu (orange) and La La (pink), but I will say La La is my favorite of the two. But while Malibu is semi-restrained and refined, Malibu is a SOOOOO flirty, fruity, and playful. Truly the perfect scent for a young girl; embodies the spirit of eternal summer!

When I smelled this in the mall a few weeks ago, and in magazines, I knew I had to have this. It's a light perfect for late Spring, and Summer Fragrance. In my opinion the pink one Couture LaLa Malibu is better. This fragrance is easy with 3 notes it kinda of a laid back perfume. If you are feeling down this fragrance will cheer you up. The blend of the Mandarin, and Pink Sugar go so well together. For me this is a happy perfume. It's spendy, but you can find it cheaper on ebay. Honestly I really like this fragrance more than I thought I would. I thought I was going to like the orange one better, because it has passion fruit. If you had to make a decision on what one to get, the pink one is worth your money more. I got the 5.0oz, and this should last awhile. Also there is 2.5oz on ebay for around $60. I know some are going to be surprised by this, but overall I give this a fragrance a 10/10, it's one of my new favorites. Before this I didn't care too much for Juicy Couture. Honestly with Couture LaLa Malibu they are stepping it up, even though it only has 3 notes I still think that. I also like this more than any other Juicy Couture fragrance.

First whiff on Warm Day: A Mimosa cocktail at brunch with your girlfriends in the sunshine. Dries down to: the gentle fresh floral aqueous basenotes from a vintage Calvin Klein Escape for women. On a Cold Day under 10°C: The Orange and Orange Blossom becomes bitter. This twists all the other accords to seem metallic and odd on the skin, but evens itself out a bit by drydown if only worn on fabric or hair. Avoid on cold days, is what I suggest. Very light, delicate. Lovely. Doesn't last long with most skin chemistry, but DOES last for about a week on fabric. FABULOUS in the spring and summer heat. It doesn't bother any "Fragrance-Sensitive" individuals I know, and so it's one of the safest picks for any event in warm weather.

I cleaned my perfume shelves today and almost forgot about this! Coach poppy flower is my all time hands down favourite fragrance and this is VERY close to an identical dupe, the major difference is coach lasts longer and is slightly more fresh while this one is slightly more fruity. Also comparable to DKNY Be delicious fresh blossom (dupe for CPF)/Versace Bright Crystal/Dior Addict 2-addict eau fraiche/Armani Sky/Nina Ricci Luna Blossom-the list goes in really. It’s everything to love about a Pink fragrance (those that get that Get that lol) while playing it safe as to not enter into sickly sweet perfume. This is such a beauty, buy it if ya find it on sale . SDM often has it on the $19.99 shelf!

Today I found a two-sided roller ball with La La malibu on one side and JC malibu on the other for $3.99 on clearance at Burlington! Perfect opportunity to see if I like La La more than JC...which I don't care for. I do like fruity perfumes, and tropical fruit with coconut are my favorite for warmer seasons. I really like the La La Malibu on my skin, enough that I'll be looking for other fragrances like it to be my signature. The JC Malibu I don't like as much. I agree with another reviewer: JC Malibu is more floral while La La Malibu is more fruity. This will be fun to have this year, but due to reviews I will be looking for a similar scent that has more longevity.

On me, nothing like JC Couture La La, especially on dry down. JC Couture La La ends up being musty due to the combination of Muguet/Lily of the Valley, violet leaf, and musk. La La Malibu retains its fresh and sweet personality on my skin. I definitely don't prefer smelling like a vintage, musty, dusty boudoir. La La Malibu is a fresh, sweet, citrusy floral, good for hot, humid areas like Florida. Sadly, Couture La La isn't for me. JC Couture La La Malibu is a summer time easy grab for me. Edit: I decided to try layering La La Malibu with Couture La La just to see if it offsets the musty vibe I was getting, and yes, it sweetened it up enough to smell nice.

Scents are of course completely subject to interpretation so it's hard to buy based on reviews. A few times I've blindly purchased a scent based on the "smells like" perfumes listed, only to discover it smells NOTHING like the perfume others have listed that it smells like. You'd expect it to at least be somewhat similar but sometimes they aren't at all. That being said, to my nose Couture La La Malibu does smell almost identical to Coach Poppy Flower. Just maybe slightly softer. However it doesn't last as long. If you like Poppy Flower, you will for sure like this one.

Finally a fragrance that reminds me of the oh so beloved roxy pink that has unfortunately been discontinued, beachy fresh & summer/vacation in a bottle. Wearing this fragrance makes me want to go surfing in Malibu. :) I love this blind purchase that went very well. This has that Victoria Secret vibe to it. This is a youthful smelling fragrance perfect for young females & the young at heart. The opening is citrusy & fruity like a fruit cocktail & the soft whiffs of floral is very playful :) summer fragrance approved!

I feel cute wearing this scent, it's bright and cheerful. I saw someone compare this to Coach Poppy, but I also get a Clinque Happy kind of vibe from it. I think it's the citrus florals that remind me of that. It's sweet, but in a fresh fruity way. I get the apple on the initial spray, but it's very quick and doesn't linger for me. I want to start collecting the Juicy perfumes to compare and find my faves, but this was a pleasant surprise for a blind buy.

This is a much sweeter version of the regular Malibu (which I prefer). It's really nice, but more of a daytime scent, where as Malibu would be for nights out. I love them both! They do NOT last long though, which makes the ticket price a little too much for me to splurge on. I'll cherish my tiny tester bottles until they're gone!

Despite other negative reviews, I really like this one. I think it's fresh and just sweet enough. The last Escada fragrance I bought was sickeningly sweet compared to this. I definitely get the mandarin, green apple, and the rose and I love them together. It's going to be a nice light summer fragrance.

In love with this fragrance! I do have a few other Juicy's but this has instantly become my favorite. Clean and fresh, a bit fruity and also, getting that 'aquatic' vibe. Just wish the longevity was better but once my roller ball is gone, buying a big bottle.

One of my all time favorite perfumes! It takes me to a magical forest full of mystical creatures like water nymphs & mermaids. Very aquatic, fresh & floral... slightly sweeter on the dry down. (Smells sweeter than Couture LaLa but almost identical)

They should have sold this around $20 here in Canada... its more regular than Bath & Body products and other regular perfumes. Just like Calgon Body Spray....

It has a very pretty citrusy, lemonade vibe to it. Not too sweet, just fresh and clean.

Just got a bottle of this for my birthday (found it for $21 for 2.5oz), along with a couple other perfumes. First spritz on my wrist and I get alcohol, mandarin orange and sugar. The alcohol smell is gone within the first minute, and over the course of the next five minutes the mandarin steps back for a shower of flowers. I'm not precisely sure which flowers, but I think it's a combo of the rose, peony, and lily-of-the-valley with musk blurring the lines. As time continues, the lily-of-the-valley starts to stand out more, along with another floral that reminds me of the mandarin, maybe the orange blossom? My skin tends to bring out white florals with a vengeance, but thankfully it's not coming across too sharp. The musk is lending a soft background for the lily-of-the-valley to pop against with a hint of the sugar again. An hour later and the scent is still strong on my wrist. I could imagine it being very easy to over apply this perfume. More than a couple spritzes and I would be in a cloying cloud of lily-of-the-valley. In moderation I do quite like it though. For me this will probably not be a go-to perfume, but it will be a nice once-in-a-while scent. A note about the bottle. I thought the heart thing would be a thin plastic piece, but it is thicker and more solid than I presumed. I do still find it a bit tacky, but thankfully, at least on the 2.5oz, the heart part is easily removable. It's attached to a ring that simply clips onto the cap's neck, below the jewel. Easy to take off and to put back on, if so desired.

Couture la la Malibu Immediately after drying- smells very fresh, aquatic, fruity and general floral. Like a punch bowl full of sea water, sliced fruit and flower petals. Not as tropical as i expected but definitely a pleasant, feminine, sweet scent. May be a bit generic to some, but is office-friendly I wore it at work today and i kept getting whiffs of myself all day. It's such a cute and fresh scent. I sprayed it onto clothes for more longevity Tapers off around 3-4 hours on skin, i would layer it with something stronger if you like it. Bought this at shoppers from the 21.99 shelf It is a bit of a dated scent. It smells like my mom in the 2000s-2010s. Clinique happy was mentioned in another comment. My sister smelled it on me and commented that i smell like a middle aged woman. I don't take it as an insult, i think my mom is a classy lady, but if that is a worry of yours, wouldn't recommend this scent

I cant explain it but when i smelled it in the store, i thought, gosh this is familiar, what does this remind me of? I sprayed it on so i could keep thinking, and eventually i realized, its twirl. At least on me. I cant explain why, but it is really like twirl. I have a hard time selecting the difference which is crazy because according to the notes of the two there should be all kinds of differences. Overall, its a fresh sweet fruity smell to me. Very fruity, i dont get any floral so fruity lovers only. Its is pretty light, take that to mean wont choke people around you at work, or meaning, not that strong and have to use more,.up to you. But i really like this since i love twirl, but i can get twirl for cheaper online and twirl is a bit stronger Im not sure how much this is running online, if at all, so probably wont get this one, at least not unless i get a really good deal on it.

I managed to get a tester of this. Only slightly used. To me, it smells like the original Juicy couture La La with just an aquatic note added. If you have the original La La, put that on and then added a spritz of Davidoff Cool water, you would pretty much have Malibu La La. I havent worn cool water since I was in my 20s and it's bringing up memories. That being said, if someone else had reviewed it this way, I probably would have just stuck with my original La La and not spent more money on this. Others have mentioned an aquatic note in it, but not actually mentioned Cool water. I do think this is slightly stronger than the original La La as well, so I guess that's a good thing. I also ditched the cheesy plastic love heart that was attached to the lid. It's actually a really pretty bottle without it.

This has a nonintrusive tropical feel with an initial scent of citrus and sugar that blooms into more of a citrus and very subtle musk combination over time. This is a simple scent and seems good for summer but there's nothing remarkable about it. If you want to smell like oranges, and just regular grocery store oranges, then this is a pleasant fragrance. Just smelling the tester there's a lot more sweetness, but when I applied it to skin that initial sugar faded quickly. I do like its simplicity but I feel there are other options at lower prices. (E.g., buy an orange at the store and peel it. Ta da!)

Sweet and fruity, but burns down to just musk with a hint of vanilla and maybe orange blossom very quickly. The citrus here is more orange flesh than orange peel, and the sugar is fruity, rather than a pure sugar or pastry note. This is not a gourmand fragrance, either, if that's what you're looking for. If you like this, I would recommend Escada Ibiza Hippie or Salvador Dali Eau de RubyLips as well (or instead). Both of those options are a little more complex and dynamic.

A yummy sugary mandarin summer scent! Sadly, it's another one of those perfumes that only lasts for a couple hours like a body mist. I would of not bought this if I had known that; it smelt so delicious in the bottle I just went ahead & purchased it right then and there. You'd be better off investing money into something that lasts longer such as Coach Poppy Flower. However, I will be keeping it in my perfume collection as the bottle itself is simply adorable!

I like the juicy couture bottles, they are all pretty but I removed the plastic heart off this bottle. This fragrance reminds me of Brittany spears Circus, and a little like Clinique Happy. It’s fresh and I mostly smell citrus and peony.I like it. It was a blind buy for 21.99. If you like fresh scents, you may like this.

I have the mini spray vial of this. I sprayed one spray on each arm and one on the front of my clothes. I could barely smell it at all, and it became a skin scent after an hour or less (and even then, a barely present one). It smells nice, but I'm wondering if I have to bathe in it to be able to smell it.

Sweet , fruity with a nice hit of musk. i think for the price it’s great! sits on my skin well and i get lots of compliments, silage is moderate however longevity could be better, i get around 2.5 hours from 4 sprays but for the price (29.99 at shoppers canada 75ml) i’m not mad:)

Lala malibu, skin test, humid and hot. Semi sharp freshie like the other Malibu which I have. A nice freshie, a bit less greenthan other malibu, a smidge sweet, fresh, airy, cooling.

We have this one and the orange one at my store and these both don't impress me. What's more, is the price is simply ridiculous! $92.00 USD for this?! The silage is not good either.

Smells fresh with pleasant citrus undertones. Not too overwhelming and lasts for a few hours, and because of that, I find that it's best for layering on top of other fragrances.

It's a very yummy scent in my opinion. Reminds me LA girls. Great for summer and beach vibes. A little musky but I don't mind it because of the sweet and fruitiness of it.

I like this, it's fresh and a little fruity but not overwhelming. Unfortunately it fades really quickly so I don't think it's worth the price.

Very fruity at first spray. I get the mandarin loud and clear. The florals are in the background. This is primarily a fruity-sweet scent. It's lovely but after about an hour I could barely smell it with my nose right to my arm. And in saying this, I'm applying it on a very warm day today where a sweet and fruity scent should thrive. I wish it was a little stronger, a little more lasting.

Is this for real?!!..I can go for the palm trees on the bottle, but that big plasticy heart looks tacky AF!...&& doesn't go with bottle, they couldn't of maybe put a ribbon on it with like a beachy or bright colored print on it with the signature charms?!...&& agreed only 2 notes I'm sure there's prob. more in it...no doubt this will be over priced && so so tho... Update (2/13/14): I tested these out at Sephora last week...low && behold of what I predicted came true && I'm sure most of the negative reviews are due to it's generic-ness && price...Yeah these weren't terrible, but they were nothing wow...just simple typical fruity summer fragrances...bordering fruity body sprays && something maybe Escada would put out (No diss on Escada b/c I like Escada && they're @ least reasonably priced)...but for this $92 US for what some generic fruit body spray...is sickening && just no!...&& that tacky heart is even uglier in person...PASS!

This is no better than other perfumes of Juicy Couture. I keep trying because of the bottles but the perfumes always disappoint me. This was very sharp at the beginning. I find it floral, but it's not mentioned in the notes. There's some sweetness, but that's kind of nauseating. Wouldn't wear it!

After a quick scent of orange, it smells to me like peanuts with a small bit of citrus oil. I have a small sample vial but I would never purchase this. Not long-lasting and minimal sillage on my dry skin.

Very nauseating to me. I would not like to be near someone wearing this. Going in the giveaway pile!!

I bought it yesterday as my NEW spring/summer fragrance and it is my First purchase of a JC fragrance. I have to admit that I have already regret it and I feel that it was not worthy (luckily I bought the small bottle, so hopefully it won't last me for a long time). First of all I would like to mention that its name is really misleading (Malibu). I do not get any exotic result out of the bottle ...despite the palm trees on the bottle/on the box and its name Malibu....on the contrary the smell is quite light and fruity (mandarin orange) very, very common and boring....the duration of the fragrance, is not very good either...My previous experience from other perfumes by JC, judging from the times I had tried them out in the stores, was quite good. I considered them complex perfumes with very good, in majority, duration/longevity. The big disadvantage was always the price, they were always quite expensive and overprized in comparison to other perfumes....Yesterday there was a sale in the fragrance department in the stores, what's why I got into the temptation of buying it....Unfortunately, it was not worthy...I think it is my First and my last time, I am getting a JC perfume....

What's happening here is what always happens with Juicy Couture. If a perfume goes well, they give out a softer edition of it, maybe plus a note and they introduce it like a 'new' release. It smells a bit sugary 'sweet' when you just spray it and then it turns exactly like Couture La La's 'ending time' after 1 hour. To be more specific, soft musk and the flowery-fruity-feminine notes of Couture La La. All in all it's dissapointing and you can see that Juicy ended it on their site/promotions. 2/10 for me :(

Disappointing. I've smelled about 30 other fragrances that smell exactly like this once it's just the default smell for fragrances basically nothing special it smells like one of those weird green Versace perfumes or some shit you get on SHEIN. It's not good either it has no note that stands out I really think juicy couture went broke and ordered this fragrance from alibaba, only kept this bc the packaging is cute lol

Couture La La Malibu by Juicy Couture is a fresh citrus with a light musk. Sparkling mandarin orange top notes, tart green apple, peony keeping things fresh with a very light skin musk base. Generally I avoid overly fruity or sugary scents but this is quite fresh and not overly fruity or cloying. Apply liberally and frequently. A lively citrus scent that adds a little pep to your step!

I really like this one because of how light and fresh it is. I don't always like to wear a heavy perfumy perfume, sometimes I just want something light, clean, sweet, fresh and flirty. La La Malibu is perfect for that. But I wish it lasted longer and yes price tag is too high for what it is.

It's very nice, especially for summer. It's not seductive, but it's very fun. Mainly I can only smell citrus and sweetness. I can see someone wearing this to the beach, or to a neon glow party, but not me. It doesn't mix with my chemistry very well. On me it just smells like mossy wood.

This fragrance is no where near worth the price tag. First of all the bottle is tacky and the juice inside is worse. It smells like all the popular fruity florals out there rolled into one and then diluted a thousand times. The Malibu colletion is just a gimmick in my honest opinion.
