Viva La Juicy Bowdacious

I love Juicy scents. Most of them, in fact. Especially all the ones that come in the over-the-top, square flankers. The only one I haven't enjoyed in recent years is Juicy Couture Noir, which is a shame because I wanted to collect them all and it came in a beautiful bottle. But on to Bowdacious... It is definitely a bit of a departure for Juicy Couture. There is only a hint of the original Juicy DNA in this. It is definitely mainly fruits and lots and lots of COCONUT! Which isn't a bad thing if you love sweet, fruity, girly scents. Especially gourmands. The bottle is over the top and I adore it, some may say it's tacky but to me the Juicy bottles are interesting and that's the main thing. This does not have a lot of complexity to it, and it remains almost the same from first spray. Right away is when you can smell the classic jasmine and floral Juicy Couture DNA, then it becomes sweeter as time goes on and the coconut comes out. It is a gorgeous scent for summer. Inoffensive. Some may say generic. But is has a little bit of tart note at first that I have just fallen in love with. Also, the coconut has a real smell to it. Not plastic or fake like a lot of coconut scents tend to be like. I think if you are a Juicy fan you will like this, especially with the warm weather coming up. It's so cliché but it really does transport you to a beautiful beach or a tropical paradise. It takes me back to a couple of vacations I went on. Especially one where I had fresh coconut every morning. And I would assume in the hot weather/sun the coconut would come out even more with this scent. Some may also say that a million body sprays smell like this - though first of all no body spray comes in a gorgeous bottle like this, secondly, this scent is definitely a bit more complex and lasts longer. In terms of sillage, it's pretty good. Longevity, not so much. But I think sillage/longevity are not always the easiest to judge on yourself. I've worn perfumes that I thought were long gone but others could still smell them going strong. So it depends. Anyways, if you have the cash, and are a huge JC fan, then I say go grab some bows! This smells like real coconut and the bottle is fabulous!

Dang it Juicy! Just stop! My wallet is saying NO, but my nose is saying YES! I don't even need this, and I 100% think it is not worth the typical Ulta US price tag of $106+ for Juicy Couture flankers. I would be willing to spend about forty bucks on it, tops. I guess I'd rather save my money and go to an actual beach. I really liked this from first whiff. Coconut and "beachy" smells are growing on me, but they have to be blended well or I just smell a soapy mess. To me this is done nicely. It is a very strong coconut note, so if that is not your thing, stay far away! My husbands job involves him having the territory of Hawaii. All of it. (I know...how awful...lol), and sometimes I get to tag along. This scent reminds me of a lot of the drinks I've tasted there that have coconut milk in them and the florals are very "white" floral, and very pretty. I can imagine wearing this and sipping a fruity cocktail by the beach while the scents of all of the native flowers and trees waft all around me. I just tested two other Juicy fragrances that were not my cup of tea at all~ this somehow snuck in to my strict Juicy interview process & passed. All noses are different and we like what we like. If you like Kate Spade's Live Colorfully, you will probably enjoy this very much. They are very very similar in strength, quality of ingredients, scent, and longevity. In fact, it's almost a copy cat version of LC. This is a "happy" , summer smell to me. It is solidly based on the original juicy, but the coconut holds its own ground. This is absolutely a scent I can imagine would be annoying to a lot of people (especially if you spray to much), so use judiciously. Thanks so much! <3

I tried this at Ulta last week and fell completely in love with it! I've used the original VLJ since 2008 and am familiar with every flanker. I never pay retail for Juicy perfumes but couldn't resist buying this baby. I was gonna just wait til its price lowered to like $45 on Ebay & fragrancenet (as all the VLJ flankers do hehe) but I just could not wait. This has the amazing VLJ DNA but it's so much better! It's less warm, rich & heavy. The tart fruity notes here are very toned down & it's much more creamy/delicate (in a good way). The coconut is super strong! The coconut note is sweet, so refreshing, creamy and yummy. It's not a sunscreen coconut, it's more of a fresh natural coconut. It does NOT smell like bath & body works' infamous coconut note. With the floral notes combined, for a brief time smells similar to the dry down of the original (vanilla, sweet goodness) with fresh, natural coconut added and all of the tartness of the mandarin and berries removed. The dry down of this smells a little similar to VLJ Sucre except MUCH less sugary/sweet and much more delicate/fresh. It's a nutty, sweet scent that is very slightly powdery. I'm really confused as to why vanilla is not listed as a note because it's definitely there. I personally love the girly pink bottle but the marketing of this perfume is very weird. I think it would've been way cooler if they gave this a tropical vibe using cool summer colors and a beach theme. How cool would a beachy type of Viva La Juicy bottle be!? :) I love any kind of girly pink stuff though so I don't mind this design lol. Overall it's definitely my FAVORITE VLJ flanker

Surprisingly nice. Goes on very sweet. Too sweet for me, as although I like sweet things within reason, I don't have a very sweet tooth. But, after a few minutes, it becomes more than bearable. I have smelt something almost exactly like this before, but I just can't place it. Have a feeling it was a scented eraser (or rubber, as we call them here!)? I loved scented rubbers (erasers!), when I was a child, so that could have been it. Think this particular one may even have been pink and in the shape of a bow...? I'm a big fan of melon notes (I'm practically addicted to Melon Juicy Tubes!), so that part is very nice. Ends up a delicious, vanilla, melon, gingerbread gourmand, with a hint of coconut and pear. It's very slightly savoury, too, which I like. Might even buy this one. Despite the fact that the last time I would have, truly, appreciated a bottle like this I was 4 years old. Edit: Sadly, there was something about the drydown I really didn't like. It was sort of hollow and artificially musky (even though musk isn't listed as a note). Drydown is really important, to me, as that is what you are left with, for hours, unless you try to scrub it off.

I got really lucky and managed to buy a 50ml brand new bottle of bowdacious with cellophane sealed box - from a owner who does not care for this fragrance and have never opened it. This is pure coconut with some floral and very little fruity notes, very unique - not coconut vanilla, not coconut milk. Not lactonic. It's very clean and oddly does not really have the usual viva la juicy DNA but still pleasant. I like how it smells but I like to smell sweet on myself. I hunted this down because the perfumer Honorine Blanc for this is the same as gold couture and JC Gold Couture is a really beautiful caramel scent I enjoy. This was launched in 2019 so this is about 4 years old even if you get a bottle of this now. Good news is - I don't think it is so heavenly you absolutely need to hunt this down. It is okay, you are not missing much. This note is very niche....you would like this if you really like a clean coconut scent. I happen to really enjoy the tacky over the top solid plastic pink bows...haha. But I would much prefer milky coconut, lactonic and sweet scents.

You don’t appreciate a good thing till it’s gone they say.. oh how true! I purchased the EDP from Ulta years ago & savored every spray, only wearing it for my most special moments. I’m devastated it’s discontinued now. Reading reviews of people’s experience finding this at TJ MAXX now is confusing, but also makes sense they are saying it’s not the EDP. This frangrance is youthful, playful, flirty femininity bottled. It’s everything I want to smell like. Upon first spray you are dazzled by lively, juicy, mouthwatering red berries, melon, & orange, then delicate white florals, then a sweet coconut and vanilla amber lingers but never takes over for me. All I’m left with is strawberry, raspberry, pineapple sorbet with a side of coconut whipped cream imprinted on my mind and I want to smell that yummy forever. On my skin, it’s even better and develops so beautifully. I get SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on this, more than I ever have with any other perfume ever.

I'm comparing the EDT that a bunch of us have been finding at discounters with the original EDP right now. To me, the EDT is much lighter (natch) and I get a lot of the coconut milk vs. with the EDP, I get more of the melon and pear. The woody base is also more noticeable in the dry down with the EDP and it's all around deeper in feel (again, as expected). If you like the overall Viva La Juicy vibe and are ok with a lighter, fresher version, the EDT will probably be worth trying. I got mine on FragranceNet and it was 100ml for $35 so overall, I'm happy. I can always layer it with the original EDP or Gold if I want it to have more oomph. Bowdacious is my fave flanker from the line so I was excited to find this EDT, even if it is lighter or more 'grey market' or whatever, lol

This is freaking amazing. I love an ozonic fresh coconut smell and this is seriously fantastic - especially for the cost. I'm going to be bold here and just say it - if you ignore the bottle, this can easily be a niche 'holiday scent' perfume. Why? Because it is not your typical teenage scent by juicy. It has something special that you wouldn't expect. I think the blend ion pear and mellon does something magical on the skin that creates a unique scent bubble that is atypical of a 'sweet coconut' perfume. In conclusion, I purchased this on a whim and got SO MANY compliments - to the point I was a little embarrassed to say what I was wearing - but the truth is, this is a great scent! I'm on my second bottle. Sillage 8/10 longevity 6/10 originality 7/`10

This is such a hot girl fragrance 😍 I have the EDP and it's easily the best out of the Viva La Juicy line. I find it to be incredibly alluring so it's a shame that it's been discontinued. The coconut milk and honeydew melon are at the forefront but I can also detect a bit of the pear, tiare flower and white ginger lily. Driftwood and tonka are heavily in the base; elevating it and giving it that certain allure and "hot girl factor." Overall, Bowdacious is a creamy, beachy, melon coconut with a good dose of woodiness and a hint of a soft gingery/tonka spice. Basically a more summery, coconut version of the original VLJ. It even gives me a bit of a Hollister vibe - like something they'd release for the summer.

Such a summer scent, would probably not work any other time of year. Second to Gold Couture (which I use fall, winter and easter so they complement one another wonderfully) this is by far my favourite Viva la Juicy scent (the others I tried I find boring and "safe for all teens" to be honest). My only complaint would be they have the lasting power of body spray and I use the double amount compared to my other perfumes - so heavy on the alcohol they just evapourate. Too bad on such totally adorable scents, just want more of these two! Edit: Definitely a vacation or week end scent, would not use to the office.

Best and sexiest tropical, coconut scent. It smells so clean and sexy, delicious and beachy. I got so many compliments when I wore this and I wore it in the middle of the snow and winter which made it standout alot. There is a crisp and cold element to this which makes it suitable also for winter. Like when you go in after laying on a tropical beach. I wish they would bring this back, this is the sexiest coconut/tropical scent I have ever smelled.

I need to add and say that the sillage and longevity is actually pretty good on clothes for a VLJ Flanker. I think it's as strong as the original, maybe even better. I sprayed my sweatshirt last night and can still smell it right now (24+ hrs later). I get these constant whiffs of yummy, sugary coconut and vanilla. I could smell it even before I put the sweatshirt back on and it was sitting on my bed next to me.

I found it at Ross for $34.99 3.4oz so I bought it. It smells great for 10min, easy to wear but not ground breaking. I am happy with my purchase though! I will wear this to the gym. It's smells like soft coconut vanilla with a hint of mandarin and jasmine. What's not to like?! The longevity and sillage are very poor on my skin though. I still feel confident, fresh and pretty when I wear it

I think this fragrance is really cute! The coconut/tonka notes are really prominent, it's like a vanilla coconut cream. The fruity notes are sweet, but not enough to be overwhelming. I like layering it w/ more citrusy scents for a bit more sourness, but it's just fine by itself. It isn't anything crazy, but I got it at Ross, so it was well worth the price.

Bowdacious is very, very nice. It's one of my best blind buys. The coconut is nice and creamy, but not overpowering in that tropical, suntan oil kinda way. This is fresh, creamy and fruity, but not tart. The melon and pear are blended nicely with the coconut and florals. This seems more like a daytime fragrance, but I'd wear it in the evening for sure.

I was really hoping to get that coconut note but my nose just doesn’t detect it unfortunately, it still smells great though and I’m happy to add it to my collection. It smells like a Viva La Juicy flanker. I love all of the Viva La Juicy flankers that I have tried, in fact I find them all better than the original VLJ.

I bought this as we already have it at my store.(Lord & Taylor). It is absolutely beautiful! It definitely has the same vibe as the other flankers of VLJ, but this one has amazing sillage and you can definitely pick up in the coconut milk in this. I think this will be a big seller. It's my new favorite for sure!

I agree with everyone who said that this smells like B&BW Coconut Lime Verbena, but the florals keep it from being a dupe. They add a nice sharpness to what would otherwise be a creamy coconut citrus frag. I also lucked out, $39.99 for a set at Marshalls! Because your reviews, I bought it blind. Thank you

This is the best out of the juicy couture flankers. It’s a super sweet and tropical coconut fragrance that smells very girly and lovely. It’s also a compliment getter. The sillage and longevity are moderate and overall it’s a cute and fun summer scent if you love girly fragrances. 🎀🥥

I found the EDT today- and had the same question as someone down below. Does anyone know the differences in notes if there are any? I like this scent and I'm excited to wear it in summer. I'm definitely layering with my Harajuku Lovers G scents! ☀️🥥🌴🍹

Best smelling VLJ for me (and I love almost all of them). I think the coconut is very distinctive. it will only be highly noticeable at the first hour then will fade unless you hold your nose close at which you could identify even 12 hours later.

Coconut done right! The tonka bean and driftwood notes balance it out perfectly. It's not a loud and overbearing coconut; it's soft and sweet, with a woody chaser. Very sexy and warm.

I found this at ross for thirty four dollars and it's the edt version it last so long but it's so pretty and Is coconut deliciousness it's great and lovely

Such a hot girl perfume. Yes you will smell like a stripper....but a hot one. This will always be one of my faves, so sad it’s discontinued 🥺

They need to brings this back, one of the best sweet scents ever made. Sweet, but clean and fresh at the same time!!

Mixure of sweet, coconut with vanilla in the base note scent. Vanilla is being heavy in the base note by the time after opening the bottle. This perfume will be more suitable in winter during the day or at night. It lasts 4-6 hours on the leather and less than one day on the clothes. I think it is will be more suitable in mixing with another perfumes. I don't like to re-buy it again, I think there is another perfumes in market lasts longer and give me more stability. I forgot to mention that this also ticks off the box of the melon scent I've been searching for. It's lovely, I'm so very very pleased by this fragrance! I've never had a melon fragrance work for me and this is IT, this is the one I've been searching for. It's bright, fruity, floral, coconutty, creamy, sweet blended perfectly and the melons in this are dreamy. This is intoxicating to the senses and if you love sweet and creamy perfection then give bowdacious a try! I never would have tried it on my own but I saw the notes and ignored other ppls comparisons and gave it a try and I'm so glad I did because this is one I'll always have a supply of. Like I said below, there's no comparisons. This lasts, the scent stays boing in its beauty and doesn't turn into something different or meh later, it's strong and lasts and smells the same fr beginning to end. It's a beauty!

The previous reviewers hit the nail on the head with this one (especially LEM922 & courtney2915). This smells nothing like advertised, instead it's the original 'viva la juicy' in a different bottle (albeit an ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS one). Maybe there is a little bit of coconut milk, but not enough distinction to warrant paying a high price...Unless you want that bottle! Now don't get me wrong, this is still an absolutely delicious scent! I'm just disappointed that there isn't any melon, driftwood or distinguishable coconut. Honestly it smells too similar to Katy Perry 'Meow!' except that 'Meow!' actually projects, lasts better and is mouth-wateringly delicious. If you're looking for a tropical 'Viva La Juicy': I 200% recommend 'Pepe Jeans for Her' EDP. It's basically a much creamier, better performing 'Bowdacious' (yes I tested both side-by-side).

I do really enjoy this scent, but it's not exactly show stopping. I'm not saying I dislike it, as it is important to have classic staple scents you can put on in a rush or mix with other scents; but it's not one I find myself gravitating towards often. The Tonka Bean works really well the coconut, and the florals help tie everything up together nicely. I have a hard time making out any of the top notes unfortunately, and the brightness from the citrus probably would've given me the wow factor I'm searching for. I'm also a bit disappointed in their decision to revamp the bottle, the screen printing and fabric bow as opposed to the embossing on the original bottle is just unfortunate. Juicy couture definitely has better scents, but this one is still enjoyable.

I am pleasantly surprised with this perfume. I'll admit I was a bit judgmental about this one due to the name and packaging, but the scent is quite nice, and softer than I expected. The opening is a bit louder with the coconutty thing, which I generally don't care for, but it fades quickly and is then quite pretty with the fruity combo of melon and pear. It then becomes very soft after a couple hours of wear, on my skin anyway. One interesting thing about this perfume is it kind of acts like it's slowly falling asleep on my skin with that gradual fading effect, but it's very pleasant to experience rather than negative. This is delightful, I'm glad this one is getting some love.

This is the best Viva la juicy ever! It's the exact fruity floral coconut drag I've been searching for 💝. Most fruity scents just don't develop on me nicely and this scent just loves me and I love it too! And honestly, I do Not smell the comparisons others have made at all. This is an original and has not been done before, at least on my skin. I've had a very hard time finding the sweet fruity , coconut floral that works for me, and finally I have found it! I hope it stay around forever ❤️ and btw, I've never been a fan of Viva la juicy original, it smells weird and cloying on my skin. This is my magical elixer of the Viva la juicy line🤗

I picked up Viva La Juicy Bowdacious at Ross. It's a pretty, summery version of the original Viva La Juicy. It's lighter than the original and I do get a creamy coconut scent throughout with the same caramel, floral base as the original. My only complaint is that I wish they had kept the original bottle with the big plastic bow, instead of the cheap looking bow. It would've been prettier to display and I wouldn't mind paying more for the original packaging. Update: I pick up hints of melon in this as well and the scent lasts a few hours on me. Bowdacious is longer lasting than the original, gold couture, and noir.

This is very nice. I tried this because a shop assistant recommended it, although I am not a huge fan of Viva La Juicy. It is sweet and I can definitely detect the coconut. The sillage and longevity are moderate in my opinion (she claimed it lasts all day but I disagree). I personally think Viva La Juicy should cost like a celebrity fragrance. I would never spend 100$ on this. The bottle, if that is possible, is even more horrendous than the other flankers. It's an eye sore. I would never have it in my house for any reason, unless I find something very similar rebottled.

Wonderful scent! One of the best coconuts I have ever smelled. It doesn't pretend to be anything special, it's just a cute tropical coconut cocktail. Perfect for dating, parties and cheering up. I can't smell melon and pear, but for those who love coconut, this fragrance will be ideal! Sillage and longevity are all day long. Unique and interesting scent. And look at the bottle! It's beautiful! These big and small bows, so girlish! It reminds me of the tropical island and a coconut paradise.

At first I get fruity melon and a synthetic note similar to that in Gold Couture which I can't stand and you can tell it definitely shares DNA with the other VLJ flankers. Then it calms down quickly and I'm left with a fresh melon and coconut scent. Which then turns into a melon and coconut scented sunscreen scent. There's something a little strange. I don't find this as headache inducing as the other flankers, it's lighter and fresher to me.

this smells EXACTLY like Victoria's Secret Noir Tease which i heard also smells exactly like the original viva la juicy there's something about this scent and the vs one because when you smell it directly it smells like cough syrup but when i smell it from a distance it always smells SOOO GOOD. it has pretty good sillage too so i do smell it strongly enough even from a distance so i do spray this on clothes instead of skin.

I like this, it smells EXACTLY like Bath & Body Works Coconut Lime Breeze, I have them both on each arm & cant tell the difference. Its not at all floral, just coconut & fruity. Definitely a daytime, spring, summer scent. It smells like a body spray and not perfume, something for the younger teenage crowd if I’m honest. Nothing special or unique. I just really like the bottle.

Delicious sweet coconut scent, smells like piña coladas (my favourite cocktail)! Nothing groundbreakingly unique or special, but really cheerful and gorgeous for hot weather, if you're in the right mood for it. A nice alternative for those oily sunscreen-y coconut scents for the summer. Decent longevity but soft sillage.

I know this is discontinued but I saw it at tjmaxx and immediately grabbed it. When I opened it the perfume bottle didn’t have the plastic pink bow at the bottom and it didn’t have the metal juicy couture emblem. It smelled nice but is juicy couture re-releasing this with new packaging?

What a cute bottle. But this does NOT last at all. Maybe 4 hours, even if I overstayed. To me, coconut/melon stood out a little too much which made me not love this. It just wasn't the best VLJ (and I have a bunch!) -- if anything possibly the VLJ I like least.

Found this at TJ Maxx. This is Yara Tous without the powder/laundry scent. This is a nice gym scent and summertime for sure. I really like it! Will wear on days when I don't want to deal with Yara Tous' powderiness, both literally smells the same to me.

Found the EDT at Ross and picked it up. The Tiare flower gives it a very bubblegumy scent with a touch of coconut. I dont get much else from it but thise two notes but it's still very nice.

I would love to try this. I love the original VLJ as well as Gold Couture. I’ve been really digging Tonka Bean in my fragrances lately, seems like a popular note these days.

It’s giving photorealistic coconut to me. I am quite impressed. I dont know if that was planned but having something so elegantly natural in this price range isn’t common

I immediately loved the scent, but not so much the packaging. One of my least favorite juicy bottles.

A creamy fresh topical fruits and flowers floating on a creamy tub of fresh coconut milk. Very nice.

Um... yeah...*exhales* I have had several variations form the viva la juicy line, and tested many more. This one is not how it reads on the accords or notes. I was really hoping to get coconut, melon, and aquatics, ozonic... nah. It’s a nice scent but similar to *all the others*. In the ‘reminds me of’ section there’s nothing that jumps out... bowdacious is really another viva la juicy... i should do a side by side but the vibes i get are what they are. Similar to the new bubbly version... ill tell you what its not... Not similar to VLJ rose Noir The original Couture Ive got royal somewhere which I don’t even like really... Anyway Bow is cool, rounded, the sweet has white floral overlay giving a cool dew feel, there’s a bit of eraser feel or maybe doll head plastic at a push. It’s pleasant. But i never pay $200 for one Edit - ACTUALLY while i think of it... =melon - Ck escape is calone melon on steroids, one could layer it here. =Or, issey miyake one of the d’issey summer editions, there’s a blue one in the last few years which is floral and aquatic which might do well, they are both rounded and lush kinda. =Even dare i say it ariana’s coconut one - the pink bottle which looks like cloud - that’s synthetic coconut but lasts like a champ - there’s some coconut. =White florals also - I’ve got some older ones and they could do with modernising i suppose... could layer with Bow. =any ck summer sprays - they don’t last forever, usually 4-5 hours, but gosh are they decent - try that. There are so many Vivas, so little time

I tested the edt version at Sam's club and loved it, but when I came back, it wasn't available anymore :(, but I found it today at Marshalls, for $40 dlls.
