Viva La Juicy Rose

This was a birthday gift from my friend.I was so happy as I collect Juicy Coutures and this one has such a gorgeous bottle; but I didn't think much about it's scent because I'm not the biggest fan of peony. I used to like rose but after buying a lot of rosey perfumes, I was tired of it so I didn't expect to like VLJ Rose but boy I LOVE it. It's as pretty as it's bottle: girly,dreamy,fairy-like,sparkly,youthful Rose reigns this perfume as it's name suggests and peony is pretty strong too but it also has a hint of viva la juicy's yummy DNA and it has an amazing pear note. it opens kind of sparkly as if it has a champagne note and has a juicy, fruity freshness but it gets warmer and deeper as it dries down and the pear, which was juicy and watery in the opening, feels like a delicious baked pear in drydown. I can even get a hint of something like caramel in drydown. in this stage, rose is still the queen of this fairytale but it's followed by a whisper of other flowers and wrapped in smooth,delicious base notes. there's also a soft veil of powder probably caused by iris. I read in a lot of reviews about this perfume's soapyness or it's detergent-like scent. fortunately it doesn't evolve to a soapy rose on me.not even a bit. it's very clean by not in a soapy way, it's slightly powdery but not in a dusty,old way, it's also sweet and yummy but not in an overly gourmand way One may consider Viva La Juicy Rose a simple perfume with nothing special.well,it is simple but what can be more lovely than being so beautiful as well as simple?! it's the epitome of feminity and truely sensusl and chic.fresh, clean and sweet and yummy at the same time and it's very easy to wear.it won't offend anyone in work place or school,suits a romantic date,girls day out,going to cinema, and various other situations.I didn't expect this but I can't get enough of this rose,peony,pear heaven I can see that it's mostly a spring/summer perfume.now I'm wearing it in the dead of winter and surprisingly it's so good and delightful,maybe because of it's milky sweetness and warm powdery base.I can't even imagine how pretty it can be in it's right season It's too soon to comment on it's longevity and sillage but I guess I'm lucky in this case too.I sprayed it 3 hours ago and it's still pretty strong on my skin,however it seems to stay close to skin as my husband couldn't smell it on me sitting a meter away,but when I moved my hand close to him,as soon as he catched a whiff said that it's great and smells as good as Aqua di Parma Rosa Nobile(and he loves that one) This is my 6th Juicy couture perfume and a favourite (I also like VLJ Gold and VLJ Glace) Edit: sprayed it 6 hours ago on back of my hand before sleeping and now I can smell a smooth rosey skinscent on my hand 2nd Edit: today I wore it and I asked my friend to guess what I am wearing.original VLJ is her signature.she said immediately:have you layered VLJ with Gucci Envy Me or some other rose perfume?? Hello fragranticans, A member that used to love Juicy Couture, had as a signature Viva la Juicy (EDP) after first snif, loved to the moon and back La Fleur (EDT) edition, had and still have almost all Viva La Juicy editions and graduated from JC College. What I will say? I am expecting soon a new edition that will be the oriental one VLJ. Who knows? I love when houses have a signature scent and don't play much with it. It starts to be boring from a point and after, specially for fans of JC perfumes. Example, what's the point of VLJ Noir (EDP)? Why we faced the discontinuation of VLJ La Fleur (EDT)? Why VLJ Gold Couture (EDP) was that much advertised and now you can't even find it in their website when it didn't suppose to be a limited edition? Let's get straight to Rose. Excellent and catchy bottle, great lasting power and sillage, I couldn't except anything less although JC plays a lot now days. I am not a fan of rose in perfumes and by reading reviews I thought I will find a candied rosie-bubbly result. What really happened? An opening extremelly similar to the original, berries are missing but the sweet part is still delicious and more serious. Middle notes are again similar to the floreal feeling the original gives but peony is the bright star and the ending is clean and fresh. Of course rose plays a good role here, we have Rose edition, but it's so light and almost gourmandise that I don't care. The total feeling VLJ Rose gives me is an expensive shampoo-type of perfume that is as sweet as serious. Belongs to a family of Chance Eau Tendre-Chanel, Blooming Bouquet-Dior but it's way better and full of senses! Like you just jump out of the shower. A bit earthy, light and intense but so romantic. I like it and I am sure everybody will. p.s: Although not a huge inspiration and effort was made to create VLJ Rose, please, please don't discontinue it!

This is a more regal, refined version of Viva La Juicy. It has VLJ’s youthful enthusiasm but is also a more dignified fragrance. Now, though very beautiful, rose can be a very difficult note to pull off well - its use in a perfume can age the composition, giving it a dated feel. Here, the rose shines, remaining vibrant and young. It is a romantic, queenly scent, the rose dominant throughout the fragrance’s entirety. The opening is very reminiscent of Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Wild Flower, so if you enjoyed that scent, this one is for you. This is a sweet floral, the rose, jasmine, pear, and mandarin orange are at the forefront with rose leading the way. It is fruity yet not cloying, it’s somehow gentle and powerful at the same time. Longevity and sillage are both moderate on skin, though they last longer on clothes. When I initially looked up the notes of this fragrance, I could’ve sworn there was a cantaloupe/melon note in the opening. All in all, this smells like a walk through an exotic royal garden on a calm, clear night. The flowers lead you to a table with platters of fruit and the scents of rose, jasmine, pear, orange, and cantaloupe dance together well.

Very surprised at how much I love this perfume! It has quickly become a favorite. I'm not a fan of most juicy couture fragrances. I like a few but no more than like. I thought this would be sickly sweet like the others despite its name "rose." When it came out I wasn't in a hurry to sniff it. I had been receiving a lot of paper samples from Ulta and other magazines. Wow! It smelled amazing! I recently bought a big bottle and I can't get enough of it. I have been wearing it everyday and have received many compliments from loved ones and strangers. It's not groundbreaking but it makes me smell PRETTY. I am very happy with my purchase. I love peony and rose notes. They play out beautifully in this perfume. A gorgeous fresh floral! Lasting power is decent, wish it lasted longer than 4 hours. The other day I sprayed at 5pm, I woke at 9am the next morning and kept catching wiffs of the scent. I guess lasting power differs. P.s. I love that the glitter of the bottle doesn't fall off everywhere. I was worried about that but it's not a problem.

I have several of the Juicy line, and next to Couture LaLa this is my hands down absolute fave. When I originally saw the bottle I fell for it off the bottle alone. Then when I tried a tester at Macy's I was hooked. I waited around and just got the GRANDE EDITION for Christmas! 6.7oz! Just a huge beautiful edition of this fragrance. I have worn it a few times since and I love how clean it is, even with the heavy Rose notes and the fruity undertone. I think it's actually a sheer and chic fragrance. In this colder weather it stays strong on my body and clothes. I feel in the summer in heat it won't fair well at all, maybe in the evenings or during a breeze. This one also does well in rainy days. The chemistry of the Rose and peony and white florals really holds up well in the weather. I love this scent. 10/10!

After buying this I'm deleting my original review and rewriting it. I love this! It's like a fresher, less serious version of Stella or Chloe. It's very girly and feminine but in a fun, laid back way. I think Stella and Chloe are serious and sophisticated rose perfumes. This is a fun, young, fresh, happy girly one. Rose is definitely strong in the notes but it's more like a rose water drink rather than actual roses. There are hints of pear and mandarin. For about 30 seconds in the beginning the mandarin reminds me of VLJ original but then it forms into a very different scent than VLJ Original. The bottle is indeed GLASS not acrylic. It's soapy, clean, fresh. So glad I gave it another chance!!!

I actually love this fragrance, which was surprising as I don't typically rate the juicy couture fragrances. But this is a new daytime favourite. It lasts beautifully and is delicate yet still prominate. The rose is definitely the strongest note, however I'm in agreement with other reviews that it's more like a rose water smell. So complementary to a lot of people. It's very sweet but more classy than a lot of sweeter fragrances which are similar, in my opinion. The bottle is the cutest too, super girlie.

I am not sure what happened with this one. The magazine fold sample smelled amazing on me so I bought a bottle. The bottle smelled NOTHING like the sample. The rose was powerful in the sample but completely undetectable in the full bottle so I returned it for a refund. I already have three different incarnations of Viva la Juicy so I don't need another clone. The rose was what really set this one apart. Very disappointing. I wonder if I got a factory screw-up or something.

I absolutely adore the scent, because I'm the biggest fan of anything with a peony note. I love roses, so with those two notes blended together it reminds me of my garden at home. On me it lasts at least a day. I originally sampled it using a scent subscription service, and knew I had to get it. If you like fresh cut blooming giant flowers like roses and peonies but mixed with some fruit to make it nice and even, then this is for you.

This is the rose perfume for those who want to try a rose scent, but are wary of those super strong, sweet and cloying rose perfumes. This is a mild rose that is mixed with a fruitiness that is pleasing to the nose. It isn't overly sweet or strong and this perfume can be worn during the day, unlike a lot of those strong, rose perfumes. I'm not a big fan of rose, but I do love this one and it doesn't give me a headache at all.

My favorite viva la Juicy, I love noir so much over the original because of the extra fruits, but this... This is gorgeous the rose is not powdery or sharp, is soft and sweet! I hate rose scents but this is absolutely stunning perfect balance of rose and sweetness, can smell some fruit here and there, and the other flower notes ride in the back peacefully. I received compliments.

this perfume smells as the bottle looks. Exactly. it is a very light rose that is so happy... i can see it: red and fresh and someone has sprinkled this sweet baby rose, with sugar! because i don't like roses, but... this one is so cheerful as perfume, i want it for spring to forget my vanillas without suffering from dependence symptoms haha :D

My daughter bought me a great big bottle of this for Christmas! I love it!! It smells almost exactly like my signature scent Escada Especially Escada. Only thing is, the longevity is lacking and sillage is very close to my body. Which is okay, because I've never been the type of woman to killl everyone off with my choice of fragrance.

It’s very realistic rose marmalade. Nauseous sweet, so if you don’t like girly gourmands stay away from that product. Yesterday I’ve been eating rose marmalade straight away from the jar using my fingers, laying in white bed sheets. Aaaaaand viva la juicy rose immediately pop up in my head - that’s the whole vibe

First off, I’m not a big rose fan but I’m a huge VLJ fan. The fact that this has enough of the VLJ DNA to sort of balance out the rose scent makes this a love for me. Rose is definitely the prominent note but the sweet VLJ undertone balances it out. I also find that it lasts longer than my other VLJ perfumes.

My #01 favourite scent on top of victoria secret's bombshell. The dry down is certainly warm and pleasant. I can still smell them from my used clothes 2 days later when i bring them for laundry haha. Only bad thing is we are unable to see how much content is left? but oh well beautiful bottle who cares

While Glace is my favorite Juicy scent, Rose is a close second! It's light, girly, sweet and flirty! I love the gorgeous rose scent, with a touch of champagne, jasmine and fruit. While I can't smell it as long as Glace, Rose still has pretty decent lasting power. My husband loves this fragrance on me!

I had a tester of it and didn't think much of it, but then when it ran out, I wanted more. It lives up to its name: Rose. I like it more now that I have the bottle. It's not too harsh smelling. It last awhile. My only complaint is that the bottle was like $60 or $70. I think it's worth about $40.

This smells shampooey, and lovely, roses in the beginning but it goes, I could douse myself in it, and this would be innofensive and delightful. Buuuut! The longevity is so crap I totally want this, but it annoys me so much that it's like shampoo water strength! :-(

It's sparkling, bright, fresh, citrusy rose and absolutely perfect. I get so many compliments on this, and it layers well too. If you need to edge up any kind of sugar bomb- this will do it and do it well. This lasts all day on me. I can smell it the next day even.

I don’t think this is a fresh clean rose. It’s a fruity, juicy, sweet rose. Halfway the orris and ambroxan are peaking through. Too sweet for hot summer days imho. Like it a lot! Sillage and longevity are moderate. Very female scent. No VLJ dna whatsoever though.

ive loved this in the past but the longevity was poor, today; very hot and humid, snf i likd the top notes but the middle was some kind of synthetic gentle metal floral, wasnt keen on it, longevity was fine. i would agree on the accords listed

I have rediscovered this one and I absolutely love it. If it were a drink I would definitely drink it as it is like a sparkling rose. It is fresh like flowers with dew drops, zesty with fruits and light with aquatic notes.

Although I LIKE rose, I don't always LOVE it. This one tho ...man, it's gorgeous. The only thing keeping me from stocking up on FSB's and bathing in it is it's longevity. You just can't find one that has it all, can you?

If you're looking for a good way to layer this scent I highly recommend Bath & Body Works Rose lotion/body wash. Very, very similar. If you want to smell even more like it, try the Rose Water + Ivy hand soap! :)

i love this perfume. the bottle is AMAZING. The fragrance too, it reminds me of Especially Escada Delicate Notes, which I LOVE too. But Viva la juicy Rosé has his own style anyway. it lasts a lot too.

I really enjoy this. Fizzy, sparkly and happy, is how I would describe this perfume. The rose is not overwhelming at all. This scent is light and fresh; a beautiful summer/spring scent indeed.

It’s not super deep or serious it leans more fun, cute, and easy to wear. Perfect if you like sweet floral scents that feel youthful and a bit sparkly without being too heavy.

Have this on skin. Givenchy nectar is out shining it so far. Not getting much rose, McCartney still kicks ass in the rose dept. Don't know if I'd buy this

Aaaahhhhh! Mmmmmm! Try wearing it in the bright sun on an almost warm day. It makes me feel like I should be laying out in the yard in a lawnchair.

Smells EXACTLY like Bandung (AKA rose milk) Its a very popular drink in Asia. All I get from this fragrance is a very sweet milky rose.

A guy's review. This is a 10/10 sexy fragrance on a woman. I couldn't let myself throw the sample paper away, that's how sensual it is!

Love roses and love this scent. Feel amazing when I'm wearing it! Furthermore I love the bottle. Travels well because it's so solid.

Sugared rose petals and sparkling pear!

I was very pleasantly surprised to like this, considering the fact that I don't normally like Juicy Couture fragrances. I agree with flowers-in-the-springtime. It seems like Juicy Couture creates fragrances targeted towards a younger audience; but this is quite a lovely adult fruity-floral. In the department store, this turned out to be more juicy-fresh than fresh/clean like I originally thought from another review. It in no way reminds me of JLo Glow (which I have and love. That one is more soapy-soft Jasmine, and fresh/clean). My husband agrees that on first spray, it starts out sweet and juicy, but quickly dries down to a rose/peony fragrance with tiny little "juice drops" instead of "dew drops". It's not as watery or sparkly as, say, Alessandro dell'Aqua Woman in Rose...or even Cabotine Rose...but more juicy; and dare I say, slightly more elegant? In comparing this to the other two rose scents, I'd say that the other two are probably easier to wear as everyday and everywhere scents, though this can easily be turned into someone's signature scent and be worn everyday too (though probably more for work than just running errands). When sniffed close to the skin, it smells almost powdery; but the fragrance wafting away from the skin is floral with hints of sparkling fruit. The base notes appear early on me (which I'm glad about) and tones down the juiciness even more. Instead of being "full-frontal" like it was in the beginning, the fruit/juiciness becomes mild and weaves in and out of the rose/peony/powdery/resinous base. I can see this being worn during the day or night; in the Spring and cooler weather. In humid or extremely hot days, I can see it becoming too much for some. However, if sprayed with a light hand after a shower, I think it would smell refreshing and delightful. On me, the scent lingers for 2-3 hours and then I can't smell it much unless I put my nose to my wrist. My husband and children seem to still be able to smell it for at least another hour or two; but then have to sniff closer after that. 2 sprays allows for more than enough sillage for me (but I'm sensitive to fragrances in general; especially anything with even a little bit of sweetness. For those who are used to Angel or Alien sillage, 2 sprays might not be enough.

Now let me start by saying that I am not into floral perfumes. Not one bit. But I like Viva la Juicy Rose, to a point. There is enough mixture of fruity notes to offset the heavy floral presence. The downside of this perfume is it has zero staying power. I can no longer smell the perfume two hours after application, which is unfortunate since I could wear the dry down all day and be very happy. Viva la Juicy Rose starts out fruity and sweet, then goes into a heavy, yet beautiful floral presence before moving to the simplicity of a powdery floral as it fades away. While this perfume doesn’t last, it owns whoever wears it for its short life. Viva la Juicy Rose walks into the room 10 minutes before you do and takes command. In my opinion this is a perfume you don’t buy blind. Either get a sample or go to a store and spray a LITTLE on. Not because it isn’t beautiful, but you don’t know how your body is going to react to this scent. I would caution those who are sensitive to scents, be careful with this perfume. Those middle notes are strong and present and while I like this perfume it did cause a pretty bad headache on me. Even as a migraine sufferer that is rare since scents aren’t one of my triggers. All I’m saying is drive this beauty with care.

I like this a lot more than the original Viva La Juicy. The rose is unique and classic. The other fruits still maintain the famous youthful, sweet appeal of Juicy Couture but it's definitely not as childish or commonplace as the original Viva La Juicy. I keep going to Sephora to get free test vials because I really like this but I don't think I like it enough to buy a full-sized bottle. While beautiful, the rose and peony combination smells a little synthetic with my body chemistry. It's a little sharp and soapy in my opinion. I'd recommend trying before buying because spraying into the air or on a tester does not produce this result with my particular body chemistry. About 2 sprays of this on my warmest areas gives me about 3 hours of wear before it fades too much and I re-apply. That's a fairly good longevity for an EDP with this type of light composition. I get a fairly close sillage which is perfect for school, work, or just about any kind of setting. Overall, I *may* purchase a bottle if I find a deal on eBay. Right now, I *like* it but it's definitely not a love. Maybe when I finally wear down my current fragrance supply... so basically never.

This smells young, but respectable! The bottle is a pure joy to hold while spraying. It's lovely through and through. I can't produce a negative thought when using this. It's a glass bottle, but the sparkly spray is like sprayed on like they do truck bed liners. It has a more firm rubbery feel than sticky flakes. It's there to STAY. I like that because I can take it with me and show off without leaving a mess in my bag. The scent itself is sparkly, bubbly, fizzy, effervescent! It's spring and summer baby showers and weddings in a bottle. I just feel it's a bit too lovely for jeans and a t-shirt....not that you CAN'T. This smells like color pink with sparkles. I'm so happy I got this in a trade. This is a perfect Easter scent. If I were to suggest a scent for a mom and daughter dress alike for Easter Sunday, this is the scent they should share. It would shine on child and mother both. I won't be trading this off on ANYONE. I'm not normally excited about rose but, as the greedy Daffy Duck would say...It's mine, ALL mine, MINE MINE MINE!

I had a mini of this that I just passed on to my DD (21). It's pretty and perfect for her age. Smells light and bright on her and has decent longevity. I had bought if hoping for something that resembles Especially Escada but the rose note is not nearly as pronounced or as deep in this scent as it is in the Escada. I do get the 'wine' aspect of the rose that some posters have mentioned which reminds me somewhat, unexpectedly, of the rose in Kenzo's Flower in the Air, without the latter's powderiness of course. The peony, however, dominates this fragrance and thus it really resembles Bright Crystal to my nose. Update, November 2023 - well I just reacquired another mini of this cause I've really been liking how it smells on DD. This one I'll keep for myself. Update #2 - July 2024 - Nope, it's not working for me. The 'wine' note makes me nauseous. Going to declutter this one.

Viva La Juicy Rose is a pretty, fresh peony-rose scent, more heavy on the peony than the rose, giving it an almost aquatic feel. Because it's peony heavy, it's a bit like Prada Candy Florale, but minus the caramel note. I see why people have said there are similarities with Especially Escada Delicate Notes, but that one is fresher, cleaner, and brighter, while VLJ Rose has almost a wine/alcohol note. To my nose, it does share similarities with Paris Hilton Rose Rush, but it doesn't have the tropical fruits (litchi & papaya). I think it's nice and pretty but, in the end, it's a little boring. Also, I happen to love both Especially Escada Delicate Notes and PH Rose Rush and would just as soon wear those than reach for VLJ Rose.

This is a very soft and light fragrance. It's a little fairy in a pink tutu flitting by then falling asleep. I would normally want to spray quite a bit of this because I'm accustomed to stronger fragrances. This is for someone who likes a very subtle rose with an even more subtle peach which blooms within a few minutes. The sillage is poor unless generously sprayed, and it doesn't have great staying power on my skin. It lasts a little longer on clothing. It's sweet but not cloying. This is a pretty perfume; however, for myself, I would only purchase a full bottle if I found it very cheap.

I like. I thought it was very weak when i first bought it (on a whim, as it was on sale) but as the weather has started getting hotter and i’m wearing less layers it’s becoming more distinctive on my skin and seems to last longer. The scent itself is actually really pleasant and is reminiscent of pink champagne! But has a beautiful amber dry down that was very surprising. This fragrance may not be the most luxurious, niche scent but I like it and I think it’s decent for spring and summertime! May not have purchased if it wasn’t in a huge sale but I definitely don’t regret it.

This is so different from the scents I normally like, and yet it’s one of my favourites. Mostly what I get is the smell of fresh rose petals, which I find very pleasant and uplifting. I’m not big on florals but I guess I like the smell of roses now. The longevity is about medium. I can still faintly smell it an hour later if I sniff my wrist but it’s gone by midday (at least to me it is, sometimes others can smell perfumes on me when I’m sure they’ve worn off but I’ve never had any comments while wearing this one).

I had the chance to try out one small vial I received on a recent purchase and this did not disappoint but,it still need a little improvement. The rose is really nice & it is very prominent on initial spray, In fact once and a while I can get whifts of this lovely scent on me 3 hours after spraying. Its just that the pear is very faint on my skin.This is a fairly average nice rose scent but still, it needs more " KICK" and a little more bit of longevity but overall, its easily a 3.7 out of a 5.

What an interesting perfume. Initial spray is Juicy Couture original DNA. A bit alcoholic, eww (not a nice kind, just cleaning alcohol). But then, wow. Pink roses, and synthetic pear syrup. And then the dry down is chocolatey. How strange. But, I enjoyed it. Got it for $40 Australian and am happy with that. Wouldn't have wanted to pay anymore because I the initial spray and the dry down are so starkly different, you don't really know what you're getting yourself into.

i love the rose note in this!! i just wish it was stronger and long lasting... this does not last on me at all! i hardly even bother to wear this because i just cant smell it after 10 minutes. i had a travel size version with a few other juicy perfumes when i was younger and loved this one from the collection the most, the rose was definitely stronger then so i wonder if they changed it. the full bottle gives off much more of an alcohol smell...
