Secrets du Paradis Rouge

Orange blossom and honey surrounded by benzoin, vanilla with some hints of smokiness made me fall in love with this beauty! Admittedly, it was not love at first sniff albeit it was a big like! The travel size was more than enough to make me love this enough for it to become FB.Great performance and a compliment grabber at that, although I do not wear my fragrances to get compliments, it is nice to get noticed. For those of you who love sweet, fruity honey+orange blossom combos, this is a must try!

Oooohhh I’m so seduced by this fragrance. It’s really sexy. A huge burst of sweet white flowers, orange flower, honey and spice. It’s narcotic. This would make an incredible bridal scent. It really blooms when your skin warms up. I got a decant in winter but I bet this sings beautifully in hot weather. I’ll have to find a full bottle by then. Just gorgeous. 9/10

I am wearing Secrets du Paradis Rouge and I think it's more floral than fruity with the orange blossom and neroli being the biggest projectors. As the top notes settle the slightest hint of honeyed vanilla and almond open up giving it a softer sweetness though it's fresher than it is sweet. After a few minutes it smells like i've just peeled into a fresh nectarine or orange. The rind opens up and the oils from the citrus burst out. The citrus never really goes away, just blends into the florals while the rest of the notes hover gently underneath them. I think this is a beautifully composed fragrance but it isn't as sweet as I would have liked and it has fairly moderate projection. On the whole, I think this would be a great addition for someone that likes soft, citrusy florals. I'll enjoy testing out my sample.

Goes on a fruity floral that I thought was derivative then the Jul et Mad magic happened. I wouldn't buy a full bottle of this but it is like nothing else. So rich and deep and layered. The citrus up front fades while the floral rises. It still remains fruity. In the middle I can smell the vanilla. In the dry down, the woods and patch rise. It end up being a musky woody scent that is much more than a fruity floral. It's worth a sniff.

This is super beautiful. I'm a big orange / orange blossom fan, but this is a really interesting and fresh take on it. That said, in the end, I don't think it fits my personality. It's a bit too ... stately? I prefer my fragrances to be a little more pulsating and alive. This one is absolutely gorgeous — especially the almond note — but it feels very mature in a way that doesn't quite suit me.

Undiluted orange blossom/neroli juice from concentrate with honey. Very very (very) sweet with plenty of projection and great lasting power. Linear yet quite grand and luxurious-smelling. Would do very well on a freezing cold winter day where the sun is out and the clouds are hidden, and feels equally as clean (as far as sweet gourmand scents go being clean, anyway).

To my nose this is as if PDM Oriana slathered herself in rose-infused coco butter then laid in the hot sun on the beach all afternoon whilst chewing on a honey stick....that's what Secrets du Paradis Rouge smells like. This is a warm, balmy, somewhat oily/humid floral with a lot of sweet, ambery creamieness. It's faintly powdery, the rose deepens the white flowers so that they don't screech; it's rich and viscous. I couldn't wear this in warm weather...I would suffocate. Would be a wonderful warming sweater-scent for autumn or winter, or perhaps a cooler evening. It's lovely, though not a DNA that completes my soul. 7/10

Secrets du Paradis is pleasant but not at all what I was expecting. Comparisons to Lancôme Poeme are apt; this is a vintage-y floral fragrance. Yes, there’s orange blossom here but a highly synthetic perfume-y type. There’s also something very scratchy in the base that kind of hits the back of my throat and makes me not want to keep smelling it close-up. Very glad I started with the travel spray size. Normally I like a lot of vintage style perfumes but I’ve noticed I don’t like orange blossom done in this perfume-y style. I love OB so much in it’s more natural, pristine state that I prefer the realistic and delicate versions of OB (like L’Artisan Fleurs d’Oranger, Histoire d’Orangers, Memo Sintra, Houbigant Oranger en Fleurs, SL FdO, L’Artisan Seville a L’Aube). Secrets du Paradis is not FBW for me. I can see why others might love this but it’s not my style. That’s a no for me dawg.

This fragragrance has a very dominant note of Cocoa Powder, I was very surprised not to see it in the note pyramid. Orange blossom is also present. I dont detect a vintagy vibe others mention and just to say im not a big fan of Vintagy scents. it was nice at first spray but became quite cloying so I had to go wash it off. My top favorite from Jul et Mad are Stariway to Heaven, and Stilettos on Lex.

Bought travel size from the website based on notes and reviews. Here on the screen combination of notes seems so close to my ideal frag. But unfortunately I don't get any of citruses, honey or vanilla. It rather smells very mature. Ladies in their 60s or older could wear this perfume. Not me in my 40s. Glad I didn't buy full size. Don't like it.

I was gifted a sample today. A lovely scent but a bit weird on my skin. The mandarin and orangeflower notes turns metallic'ish on me and gives a sharp edge to the scent. On paper it is a stunning soft and lovely scent but on my skin -nope. Worth trying for orangeflower-lovers, I think

I don't like to disect a fragrance. I am no perfumer to know each and every note or accord, but I can FEEL joy or sadness, curiosity or tediousness when I smell a new perfume. This is why I will concentrate on what Secrets du Paradis Rouge made me think and feel the moment it touched my skin. This perfume opens loudly, with a blast of sweet, cheerful bouquet of floral notes covered in something gourmand and delicious. I think that might be the honey, a note that I love to find in the perfumes I wear. I can picture Julien and Mădălina walking hand in hand, laughing while they get to know the streets of Marrakesh. The air is filled with rich spicery, the weather is warm and sunny and their hearts beat as one. After about half an hour, Secrets du Paradis Rouge is not loud anymore. Its sweetness seems to be more mature now, and on my skin it becomes ambery and waxy, in a good way, but the beautiful orange blossom is still there, sparkling, because she knows she is the star of the show here. Anyway, there is a change regarding the sweetness that I could sense the first minutes after I sprayed the perfume on my skin. Now, it is not as perceivable and I feel that Secrets du Paradis Rouge migrates to a floral-woody type of scent now, instead of a fruity-floral, as I thought it would remain. This fragrance makes me feel feminine and positive, it brings happy memories to my mind. It is amazing how a scent can change my mood instantly. In my opinion, the most powerful type of comunication does not use words. Sometimes you just have to close your eyes and FEEL. The fragrance is quite linear, it does not change very much from the opening to the base and I think this is exactly what Luca Maffei, the talented nose behind Secrets du Paradis Rouge wanted, in order to better illustrate the story behind this perfume. Just like true love, it does not have to change, it just have to become one with the one who wears it.

Beautifully composed citrus floral balsamic amber fragrance, with good performance. Sweet citrus opening is tempered by slightest hints of spicy clove & herbaceous artemisia, all very smooth & powdery. Gourmandy heart notes of honey & almond make their appearance without delay, and then hand off to a rosy floral heart that also is somewhat camphoraceous & indolic. Floral heart is nice & strong, and reasonably persistent before gradually transitioning to balsamic amber base that slowly reveals woody notes. To me the most interesting thing about this perfume is the clever opening, which made me think about leathery saffron at first, before hitting the citrus & herbs. The composition to my nose is exquisitely well-balanced at all phases & progresses smoothly & monotonically, without even a fleeting rough edge to be found.

I bought this online at a re-seller for a great price [new, unopened]. It was definitely a risk, since the notes looked eerily similar to Elie Saab, which I sadly had to declutter, because the jasmine note in Elie Saab went too far into the "grape soda" territory on my skin. But somehow this one, with the main notes of honey /orange blossom / almond are JUST enough outside of the "jasmine-grape soda" chemistry (for my personal skin) that it seems to be working. I've only been wearing it for about 15 minutes as I write this review, so we'll see. This is clearly a beautifully-constructed quality fragrance, and I'm glad I discovered the brand, and especially this particular fragrance. Probably not a safe blind buy. If you can sample it beforehand, I'd recommend it.

I bought a travel size of this and then a full bottle, so much it grew on me! It's a sweet and powdery orange blossom, the perfect balance between floral and gourmand. Imagine L'instant de Guerlain but with orange blossom instead of iris. I know most say that neroli is the strongest note, but I don't feel the bitterness of it at all, most likely because of the honey and almonds. It's definitely year-round, it blooms in the heat and gets even more airy. It's linear, projects well and lasts the whole day. Definitely worth a try!

gorgeous smokey citrusy heliotropey gourmand. Right in my wheelhouse. Nothing cloying or adolescent about it. slightly on the Guerlain l'instant magic side of things but the rated R version of it. Sillage is impressive and longevity is too. And also wonderful that they now sell it in a plain box version (for a lot cheaper) if you don't want the full presentation (skip it).

I smell mainly orangeblossom and orange jam. I feel i love this fragrance almost the same as Nea. Very good scent. I cannt detect sharpness of neroli at all. Lucky me i guess.
