Stairway To Heaven

I’m really enjoying this modern take on aldehydes! I received a sample from my favorite niche perfumery, Indigo Perfumery, and later bought a FB. Although Igsoltek can draw associations with other earlier works, these are too obscure to my untrained nose. In the universe of perfumes with which I’m acquainted, I think this perfume is very unique, if not boundary pushing with the overt aldehydic quality which isn’t so popular nowadays. The closest approximation I could draw to this perfume would be Chanel No 5 Eau Premiere. As much as I love No 5 EP, there is a melancholic nuance to it. Stairway to Heaven is lighter, brighter and happier, but with depth brought by the vanilla, patchouli and incense (these notes are not detected individually; this is an abstract blend), as opposed to a woody base in No 5 EP. The perfumeurs’ attempt to conjure “whiteness” was a resounding success in my view. The overall feeling I get while wearing this beauty is meditative, comforting and uplifting. The perfume is a play of opposites—warm and cold, fresh and deep. The opening is cool, bright and fizzy with a touch of citrus in a soft, aldehydic burst. As the fragrance develops, soft florals, and warm vanillic musks bring a sense of comfort. The interplay between warm and cool exists through the duration of the development/drydown. Another fragrance that comes to mind is TF’s Metallique, which differs greatly in that Metallique has two distinct and somewhat disconnected stages—aldehydic opening followed by a vanillic drydown. Stairway to Heaven is smoother with seamless transitions, less synthetic, and the aldehydes are felt throughout. Simply lovely!

THEE absolute best aldehyde scent on the market. Aldehydes get a bad rap due to their overdose in Chanel #5. They are notorious for being super soapy and a difficult note for many. Here, they are not soapy, they are effervescent, light, fresh, and give the fragrance a fizzy, bubbliness that makes my nose tingle a bit when I smell it up close. This is not fruity, nor is it floral; it is citrusy, musky, aldehydic with a little sweetness from the red berries and a super soft vanilla. The heliotrope is here to smooth out any harshness, creating a dynamic textural element of both being fizzy and soft. The ambroxan with the white musk create a very modern profile and I would classify this in its own category. I also foresee me using this to layer with other perfumes, especially light aquatic florals or other citrus perfumes. If you're in the market for a unique, fresh musk perfume, give this a sample. This is my signature scent (especially in warmer weather). I dress mostly Victorian gothic so I don’t know how well this fragrance pairs with my overall aesthetic but I love it just the same. It smells ethereal and almost otherworldly. It’s unlike any other perfume I’ve ever smelled, it’s very abstract. There’s a sweet strawberry-like note from the red berries, but it’s mostly aldehydes at first. It’s extremely fizzy and quite fresh with a hint of citrus. I live in a quite humid climate and it wears well in hot humid weather. It also has a coldness to it from all the aldehydes that makes it work equally well in winter. The gunpowder note isn’t extremely prominent but there is a slight smokiness in the dry down from that and the incense. It lasts fairly long on me and projects enough that I’ve gotten compliments on my fragrance after wearing it a few hours. I want to gatekeep this fragrance but I also don’t want it to ever be discontinued.

I just love this one. My fav type of clean girl fragrance. It’s somehow wistful, mysterious and a touch remote. It’s a cool (but sunny) windy late autumn day and this is so comforting. Not heavy or thick.... It’s like you’ve been meditating in a cedar lined room on a mountain top complete with huge windows. The windows are open and the fine gauze white cotton sheers are dancing in the wind and you’re seeing the periwinkle-blue-fading-to-lilac tinted skies in the far distance. Feels like there’s snow in the air but there is sun on your skin. Intriguing, intelligent, light weight in texture, yet very present. Expensive smelling yet not overpowering. I am a big fan of the fine grained aldehydic opening and the metallic powdery mid. It’s lightly sweet and slightly feminine leaning. In the direction of Tom Ford Metallique (strip out the thick vanilla and apply it in watercolour) or Mizensir Elixir de Musc...

This is THE avant-garde fragrance I've always wanted . . . too bad it doesn't suit me enough to not feel like I'm layering a masterpiece around me instead of on me lol. There's something so uniquely fizzy and fun about STH, with a (fresh and very literal) air of synthetic indifference that keeps me coming back to this fragrance like no other. It manages to balance immensely artful creativity with wearability ~ I get scent memories of bright summer poolside concrete and sparkling chlorinated water at a school swimming carnival - yet somehow only the positive associations. To me, it's so cold it's hot. The crisp aloofness makes it ultra modern - more youthful than childish, upbeat, and so, so stylish. If you can rock this please do so for the sake of humanity because the world needs to smell this abstract wonder - plus, you'll definitely smell cooler than me d:

Unique freshie for sure. Sweet and ethereal, STH transports me to a mountaintop on a bright sunny day with a crisp breeze. I am surrounded by fluffy white clouds and fresh blooms while I sip a handcrafted orange/rose soda. 🍊⛅ My heart wants to call this the adult equivalent of cotton candy. Included is the scent of the industrial metal spinner the candy was spun from. This is so beautifully blended. I do get a pretty hard metallic punch from the mix of aldehydes and gunpowder in the beginning, but that initial blast quickly blends down within minutes. I've found my signature scent in this. I cannot stay away and am planning to get a backup bottle soon. I do recognize this may not be a scent that's quite for everyone, but I don't have a single reservation here. Happy to have found this gem! Stairway to Heaven will always have a place (or two) in my collection!

I am joining the choir of all who sing praises of this masterpiece. At first my nose doesn't know what to pick up, there is so much and so well blended. A good bit of sweetness, iris-like powder, citrus zing and the sparkling aldehydes. I am not an aldehyde fan at all, but this is beautifully blended and doesn't choke me out. This is such a versatile scent. Yes it can be worn as a white blouse + jeans fragrance but where I find more interest is the subtle seduction that this scent encompasses. The picture: white, cool silk sheets, crisp, but you and your partner left your perfume on those sheets after a steamy night. Suggestive but classy! And yes, this would smell soooo good on a man too! One of my best purchases this year. LOVE

One of the most ethereal perfumes I've ever smelled in my entire life. First spray I get a hit of citrus and aldehydes but both blend together super well. Its an amazing clean skin musk. I haven't smelled the gun powder note yet on the dry down and I am hoping it comes up soon! I love the smell of gun powder. The rose isn't super dewy and the heliotrope makes it super powdery. I know this was made in 2019 but it reminds me what the soft gen x moodboards would smell like to me. Long lasting power. Also I love how the perfume liquid is very light blue. I would wear this everyday for any season. I feel like it'll shine super well during wintertime. Can't wait to buy a bigger size soon <3

Ok let me start by saying I do not like Aldehydes, all the Aldehydic fragrance I smelled makes me thing of vintage. This is not that at all, I’m so in love with this fragrance. It’s so well blended, I can’t really pick out any notes. It’s so addicting to smell. Works so well in the heat. A little sweet but with something creamy, I do get a little smoky pleasant note of incense here and I think that’s what makes it so addicting. It’s creamy smooth so smooth and airy. The performance and longevity is outstanding. If only all Aldehydes would smell like that I would be totally into them. It’s gorgeous and honestly it needs to be experienced because it’s very hard to describe.

Man, this is incredible. Had a sample of it some time ago and couldn't get it out of my mind, and recently bought a full bottle. To me, it's very airy with the aldehydes and gunpowder notes being the most prominent, but it's so well blended. It's fresh, inoffensive, and smells like no other "freshie" I've tried before. I feel like this is a fresh fragrance you can wear all year round for sure. Try this one out, especially if you're tired of citrus fragrances and are looking for a lighter fragrance for the warmer months.

This is absolutely stunning. I think it’s so wonderfully named. It does smell like you’re standing on the highest mountain and smelling the freshest air and the clouds and ozone and the sparkling rays of sun. It’s brilliant and beautiful and happy. This fragrance has more texture than anything I’ve ever had my nose on. The aldehydes make it sparkle and fizz and the gunpowder makes it sharp and zing like tiny glass shards. Honestly I’ve never encountered another fragrance like this one. It’s a masterpiece.

I could easily choose this as a signature scent. It is so abstract, it doesn’t become annoying to me and even though it has quite a weird composition, with the gunpowder next to sweeter notes and aldehydes, it is actually super pleasant. Longevity is excellent, I can easily smell it the next day, especially on clothes and hair. It is airy and bright, so you won’t bother anyone with it. In a perfume world flooded with gourmands, this is literally a breath of fresh air. Not boring either.

Such a unique aldehyde fragrance. Fizzy, bubbly , fresh, with a powdery touch . I also get some red berries and a light mandarin that provides some sweetnesss. I detect something just a bit metallic which is think helps give it some something refreshing and almost cold . I love it , I think it’s appropriate for all year round and even might be a cool scent for the dead of winter . Probably the equivalent of chewing minty gum when it’s chilly outside

I love this one so much! The gunpowder note is fascinating amidst the incense and musks. It is so good and clean smelling and mysterious and bold. Both my husband and son, who are usually indifferent to whatever perfume I am wearing or make them smell, both remarked that they really like it, with a surprised look on their faces. This is super significant. I would definitely call this my favorite EVER... Top 3 at the very least.

A very aptly named fragrance. This is one of the cleanest fragrances I’ve ever smelled without smelling like cleaner. The aldehydes in this are very sparkly and fizzy to me. In fact all I really smell is aldehydes - in a good way. This is 100% backup bottle worthy in my opinion. Will make you feel like a snow queen in winter, and laying on a fluffy cloud (with a pillow that is always cold) during the summer.

this perfume just smells incredible,,, and it maintains an expensive and full smell without being too thick.,., its super fresh and citrusy but is balanced by the musk notes,, its hard to describe but it is so unique and beautiful. If I smelled it in passing I would not rest until I found out what perfume it was currently only used a sample as its expensive but may be investing soon...

I’m a little heartbroken that this perfume is suddenly getting attention🔫 Because back then comments were like "this isn’t wearable" and which secretly made me happy because I wanted it to stay underrated The first moment I tried it I was... this is straight up sexy 🧊 a fresh-clean perfume is on crack. The more I wore this, the harder I falling for it.🩵

To me this smells like “summer in a bottle “, its fresh but not too much, is sweet but not too much. It smells very clean aesthetic girl, very beautiful, is musky and fruity, I would say this smells like grapes (red grapes). I know for sure that this scent will be in my collection forever. I’m obsessed with this 😍😍

Ha. It ́s fascinating to read as other people perceive the same smell. I love Stairway to Heaven. I really do. I don ́t get any musk, gunpowder, fruit, nor aldehydes. What I get is Fanta drink with ice cubes. It feels fresh and fizzy, and I can almost feel bubbles tickling in my mouth. Amazing.

A beautiful bright burst of aldehydes gives way to a clean skin musk. This is probably the nicest aldehydic fragrance I’ve smelled to date. Stairway to Heaven is a really great main player in the your-skin-but-better category.

I wanted to make a review because this fragrance touched my heart but I don’t want to reduce it to a special song. Very transparent, well blended, for delicate free souls and maybe little ghosts. Enough words.

Beautiful. It is similar to TF Metallique but the drydown is much prettier and a little more floral. This was a blind buy that I'm quite happy about.

It’s like Junoon Noir (or Dama Bianca) had a baby with Tom Ford Metallique. Powdery, feminine, clean and with a bit of sweetness. I love it!

One of my absolute faves. I love a powdery scent but the gunpowder and incense turn this into something more punchy. A sharp suited assassin

the rapture, the bliss, the exaltation....if there was a scent for that...this would be it. Not easy to describe, but strangely beautiful...

If you want to stand out, this is for you. The wafts of this masterpiece are polarizing and very pretty, oddly. Don't overspray!

Squeaky clean, sudsy aldehyde. Soapy, but not a fatty creamy soap, just light, ethereal and bubbly with a little sweetness. If cleanliness is next to godliness then this is very aptly named. I generally lean towards dirty, earthy, animalic, but I would reach for this if I wanted to feel fresh and angelic. It smells totally synthetic but in a very good way - I can't imagine anyone finding anything unpleasant about this. Still trying to decide if this is going to be a purchase - I don't feel it's really me but there's something unique and interesting that keeps me coming back to it. I can't think of any social situation where this would be my first choice, but spraying this after a long shower, wrapped in a clean fluffy white robe, lounging on fresh white sheets, would be just perfect. Longevity is amazing, I can still smell this on my wrist the next morning. Intriguingly it's turned a little smoky at this point - I guess this is the gunpowder, which didn't hit me in the opening as it does for others.

Wow, this one is fascinating. I've been testing this for a few weeks now and although on its face it isn't super complex with radical niche transitions, in a way it is because it's so unique. This scent was not a love at first sniff for me because it's so strange. This scent is all about texture. The 8 different musks combined with rose, berries, orris, heliotrope and airy diffusive aldeydes make me think of think of being on a mountain top in the heavens. Overall it's a silky smooth, musky, laconic and tranquil experience that reminds me of fresh, air dried linens, strawberry fields, ice cream, and fluffy clouds. I think the perfumer did a good job of representing a heavenly headspace. It's also got a pleasant berry note that smells like an airy strawberry. The sum is a pillow soft clouds, fresh mountain air, with strawberry or berry patch in the distance. 🫧 ☁️🍓 Scent 7.8/10 Performance 9/10 P. S. Easy on the trigger, this one is beguiling with its soft and cold texture, but it's also potent.

Fizzy and tingles your nose the way a harsh disinfectant does seconds before you can smell its aroma. Very very clean, but not in the typical laundry fashion. Clean in the way an angel has never been touched by filth before, unmarred by any worldly impurities. The striking of a crystal clear bell, a primordial chime purer than any physical form, yet the frequency still makes the space between your eyebrows ring. But there's still something unsettling here. Sour gummies dunked in blue fizzy soda in a cold sterilized room, with hints of citrus left behind in the marble tile grooves. Someone or something had met a grave fate there. But everything is squeaky clean now, just as it should be. Definitely very unique and well blended.

A sparkling bottle of sugary Ramune left in a cold fridge. A little metallic but oddly cozy as well, the juxtaposition is interesting. Straddles the line of "interesting" and "wearable" very well, I wonder why I don't wear it more. I suppose it's because I have trouble deciding which season to wear it in. Sunny and cold days in the spring and autumn might suit Stairway to Heaven the best, as in summer the scent is too thick and heavy, and it may be too cold-smelling to wearing the cold winter. Would be great for the office as I think Stairway to Heaven is a bit too formal for me on a daily basis.

White musk carried by the distinct sparkle of aldehydes plus citric fizz, with faint undertones of incense and powdery heliotrope. "Flavorless" would be an accurate one-word description, as this really smells like almost nothing. Fresh, clean laundry washed with unscented soap and line-dried? A church filled with snuffed candles, but the candles weren't recently burning and the building is brightly lit? It's like a combination of textures without taste. Moderately soft projection for 3-5hr, longevity 12hr+.

What this scent smells of to me: Gunpowder on a white marble table, cotton candy clouds, a frozen can of fruit cocktail, an angels breath, a mothers hug, strawberry soda (or Big Red), compact makeup mixed with vanilla scented lipstick, falling in love, watching romantic comedies in your pajamas, the sensation of an icy raindrop falling on your cheek, childhood tea parties, white scalloped plates and slices of pound cake topped with whipped cream and maraschino cherries.

Stairway to Heaven smells like a number of different things. A bubbly soft drink, a vanilla sherbet candy...or even an abstract impression of a sugary gunshot. I don’t know how else to describe the unique dimensionality of this fragrance, other than it that it truly does smell ‘far away’. The aldehydes and musks play clever tricks here. While it’s a bit too sweet for me, I can see Stairway to Heaven coming across as magical and allusive on the right person.

If it weren’t for that sweet orange note, this could have been an amazing fragrance. What I get is mostly a sense of freshness; clean, airy, and a lovely musk. Like a celestial being... No matter how many times I’ve tried, I just can’t detect the gunpowder note. All in all, it’s extremely easy to wear, innocent, and pleasant. The story mentions the Himalayas, but rather than a glacial chill, I find it serene and calming; like inner peace

Never smelled anything like it! Truly sparkly and mineral feeling. If I had to compare it to anything it reminds me of what I imagine fruity poprocks smelling like. It literally smells “tingly” to my nose. In terms of functionality though it is too sweet for me, comes off as a bit too much.

Thought I found my favorite refreshing, clean scent until a friend brought up that I smelled like chocolate... but in a good way :D Other than that, it's a lovely powdery scent that doesn't clog your nose or smell like baby powder! This one's my favorite from Jul et Mad.

Strong aldehydes with interesting fizzy undertones and lots of sweet and slightly sour berries. Dry down is more powdery and “fatty”, more similar to traditional aldehydes with soft florals and lots of musk. Interesting, but quite strange.

Easy to wear frag, stays close to skin. Although its not my type of frag, but I like it. Not powdery, just cozy, musky and fresh.

very interesting! i love the aldehydes in the beginning, i believe it’s doing most of the heavy lifting in this fragrance. i was hoping it would take me on more of journey but after a few minutes of it drying down, the notes in the dry down smell a little on the stale side to me. i was expecting a clean musk with a bit of funkiness from the gunpowder and maybe the incense but i'm disappointed.

This reminded me so much of my grandmother it’s all I could perceive, I believe it’s the aldehydes and heliotrope combo ... I wanted to love this so badly because the notes are genuinely badass, especially with the gunpowder, but all my nose can perceive is aldehyde super powdery and grandma floral, love you grandma but I don’t want to smell like you queen 😭

Smells like the inside of a new fridge. How did I end up on this weird side of niche? I love their Stilettos though, so do give this brand a chance.

Drops of morning dew appear on the petals of a precious snowdrop as it emerges from a snowy and icy barrier. Suddenly the drop falls onto the glistening snow, leaving a misty trail behind. In the far beyond, the sun shines on the mountaintops, a chilly wind blows through the trees. The air is crisp. Breathe. I wanted to paint the cleanest, whitest, most refreshing picture I could because that is what this fragrance reminds me of - total clarity and purity. Cecile Zarokian created Stairway to Heaven - a very opt name! - for Jul et At Mad; a modern and unique take on aldehydes. This fragrance is aldehyde heavy, but do not imagine a No.5 kinda aldehyde sensation; this is totally different - on the top, citrus and aldehydes blend together which is throughout accompanier by a faint floral trail, heliotrope with rose - but this is also not a floral creation in my opinion. This fragrance is truly hard to write about because it resembles so many different things - the aldehydes and the citrus give it a fresh feeling throughout, the floral notes make it slightly sweet, and the base of musk, gunpowder, ambroxan make it truly deep and unique - it is almost mineral and salt-like in the drydown on my skin, and has an edgy undertone to it. Truly, truly unique. A fragrantica review said that after the initial spray its like a celery-accord would appear - and I kinda agree. But eventually it becomes this slightly sweet, aldehydic, freshly mineral fragrance. I would just absolutely love to ask Cecile how she came up with this particular formula because this is just so incredibly unique. ❄️ And let me just add that this is absolutely mindblowingly long lasting - talking about days and days on clothes!

This is a very interesting & well-composed fragrance, but is not super to my taste. Opening is strong aldehyde & citrus, and very sweet. Interestingly, this opening immediately strongly reminded me of the celery accord of Skarb, by Humiecki & Graef. This citrus aldehydic accord extends for a very long time as it introduces heliotropin floral heart accord, also very sweet, which is super smooth & powdery. Base is well-balanced musky balsamic with enjoyable olibanum slightly smoky incense facets, sweetened by plenty of vanilla. Base becomes prominent pretty quickly, so the floral heart is really only forward briefly & takes a back seat to the top & base. For me, the unifying theme is that this is MEGA sweet. So if you like that, this is absolutely worth a try.

شروعی چرب و پودری با دوز سنگینی از کره زنبق که به شدت وایب لوازم آرایشی داشت همراهی یک مُشک سفید و تمیز و پودری با کارکتری مخملی که به زنبق اضافه میشه و آکورد پودری رو قوی تر هم می کنه اما به مرور زنبق از قدرت اش کاسته میشه و میشه گفت نت های میوه ای نیمه تُرش،طَعم شیرین وانیل،رگه های گیاهی خاکی پَچولی و سایر نُت های عطر؛شروع به کنترل زنبق می کنند و رایحه رو از یکنواختی خارج می کنند از ابتدا تا انتها هرچی می گذره رایحه عطر پخته تر میشه و تغییرات مثبتی توش اتفاق می افته قشنگ بود اما تست اش برام کافیه ************************ scent:7.5/10 longevity:7/10 silage:6.5/10 purchase value:3/10 ******* overall:6/10
