Call Me By Your Name

I have been on the search for a dupe for Gourmand Coquin for years, like 5 years, because I will not spend rent money on a perfume ($800-$1,200) even if it is my favorite perfume of all time. Gurlaine is evil for discontinuing GC, when they have some scents that have been available since the 90's, not fair, and I know why they're doing it, because when (if) they ever release this scent again they know they can get away with charging $500-800+, GAH, so unfair bc it was originally only like $200. Anyways, let's get onto my savior Julianna's Perfume, their dupe is the closest I've ever gotten back to GC, it's gorgeous, and a large amount of perfume for a affordable price, plus they give you two samples that come in a high quality glass atomizer (their LDBS dupe is amazing). Now onto this dupe, super similar, there's some differences obviously because it's not a luxury brand making it, but it has the deep boozy chocolate that you loved in GC, I do detect more powder in this one, it has spicy undertones that blend with each other and melt into your skin. It's definitely gourmand for sure, so if you don't like sweet, almost edible sweet, I would test this first. This is very much a date night perfume, or spray this and take yourself on a date, give yourself a treat on a rainy fall afternoon after a long bath before bed. Thank you so much Julianna's Perfume for making an affordable dupe for my favorite perfume that I can no longer (affordably) buy, and I will for sure buy your LDBS dupe and others, I am a long time costumer now! Only complaint I have is the bottles are kinda boring but it is a dupe company, and you can't beat the affordable prices lol. They are a very professional company that sends you newsletters about new perfumes and also ask what perfumes you'd like for them to recreate, they care about their costumers and products, and they're always putting new scents out. Also they send you a sample of the order you made along with the other two samples, so if you don't like it, you can return it for all your money back. Ugh, I just want to give Julianna's a kiss, mwah! 💋

I want to talk about all of these from this house since this is the only on here on Fragrantica. I want to start by saying I am sooo picky when it comes to refinement and all of the nuances in frags that make or break them as a whole and I cant stand dupe houses. This is my favorite ** AND ONLY acceptable dupe house so far because most are very cheap smelling and poorly constructed. Even though its not as pretty as some of the originals, it's not cheap smelling at all. These are all extremely close to their inspirations, and although they are 95% I will still say that the 5% missing is that magic twinkle that makes these original fragrances so incredible, but ....with that said, these are actually good fragrances. As far as comparison to gourmand couquine, this is not really that close to the original which has a raspberry liquor and a deep rich chocolate ( I have them both). Call me by your name is more of a dusty lighter chocolate fragrance. I was thinking about returning the fragrance after spraying on my pjs before bed, but when I woke up in the morning I couldn't stop noticing how incredible I smelled and I kept thinking, what was it? It couldn't be call me by your name.. So I re sprayed that morning and sure enough, the dry down wears soooo creamy and smooth and good. It doesn't stay smelling like chocolate per se but just smells sweet and very inviting which I love, more than a lot of more expensive gourmands. I would say try this and give it a full wear before making your decision. I like most from this house so if you can get your hands on them I would say these are much better then any other dupe quality that I have every tried, which I usually wont even touch, this is more along the lines of your typical Sephora or nordy designer line up. Surprisingly impressed ..

I never experienced Guerlain "Elixir Charnel Gourmand Coquin" or Guerlain "Feve Gourmand." One is out-of-production and both are prohibitively expensive. Julianna's Perfume "Call Me By Your Name" is really wonderful. I actually am awestruck by this lovely little perfume. CMBYN performs in a way that makes me think the ingredients are good quality. And if CMBYN is a Guerlain clone or dupe, I can only imagine the beauty of the original Guerlains. CMBYN opens with an unmistakable burst of cocoa powder that is rich and slightly dense but not cloying. The cocoa opening pairs with spicy pink pepper. At this stage, the perfume has somewhat of a boozy quality to it but is not syrupy. CMBYN develops with a powdery, dusty dryness that perfectly blends with gorgeous floral notes. Wonderful vanilla and amber emerge, which support the chocolate-floral accord. Throughout its development, the cocoa note is never lost, nor is the pink pepper. Brown sugar adds a touch of sweetness and musk adds the perfect amount of powderiness. Love it!

This scent is gorgeous, one of my top faves. My bottle is over a year old now, so maybe it's blossomed into something the other reviews didn't get to experience? It's such a deep, warm, slightly boozy chocolate and you feel enveloped in a powdery fog of it - but not a dry powder. This reminds me of a spicy and warm lava cake with a side of vanilla ice cream, but more complex than that even. I get a slight sense of the floral being there more than I can smell it, if that makes sense? It's just blended very well. I don't get tootsie roll at ALL. I get compliments all day long when I wear this, which is often. People want to smell me, my husband wants to eat me up...maybe it just meshes with my chemistry. I love Grand Coquin as well, and just ordered one of the new Feve bottles. I'd definitely say it has the same DNA. If you like warm and spicy gourmand, this is it, especially if you don't want to spend a bundle but want to smell like you did.

I had ordered a perfume from Julianna's Perfumes and the order came with two samples, and Call Me By Your Name was one of them. I sprayed a little on my wrist and oh my gosh, what an eye roller!! A slightly peppery chocolate vanilla dream! After a week or so i couldn't stop thinking about it, so I just went ahead and ordered a full sized bottle and received it yesterday. I love gourmand fragrances and Call Me By Your Name shot it's way super fast to the top of my all-time favorites immediately. Love, love, LOVE! I have never smelled Guerlain's Gourmand Coquin (which this perfume was inspired by), so i can't say how close they are or anything, but as a stand alone perfume, Call Me By Your Name is stunning!!

I appreciate Julianna’s Perfumes because of the artistry behind creating, basically, unattainable or very pricey scents that are staples in the fragrance community. Bad Bitch from this house is breathtakingly similar to Rouge Malachite which I only sampled. But Julianna’s Perfume allows you to not break the bank on hard to get or pricey fragrances and experience them safely from being a victim of blind buy failure. For those who were lucky to obtain Gourmand Coquin while it was available, I applaud you. But don’t knock this house because you have the real deal! Julianna’s Perfume is the perfect dupe house for many great fragrances. FYI: who doesn’t want to smell like a tootsie roll🥴

This is a delicious chocolate, deep vanilla with spices. I can’t imagine what the OG Gourmand Coquin smells like! Also, to me it’s smells like a brownie made from Abuelita chocolate. This is my favorite gourmand fragrance to date.

I love this so much. I have lots of perfumes - and lots of chocolate perfumes - but this one stands alone for the uniqueness of its dry chocolate note and the light touch of sweetness. It lasts for hours and is so well done.

I desperately wanted to try the original but I'm too picky and cheap to spend $$$$ on something I might or might not love. I kept hearing this was the next best thing... it's nice. CALL ME BY YOUR NAME is not as smooth or as chocolately as I was hoping. The pink pepper really pops and stays spicy on my skin throughout the whole wear so it's fun but not as comforting as I wanted. This is a fresher vanilla gourmand with a high sharp spice note and warm sweetness. Most of my collection is unisex and this fits in perfectly. The really great part is that I only spent $55.20 to add it to my collection! I think it's nice for the price and I got to experience a taste of what the original had to offer and so now I can quit dreaming about that fantasy fragrance I had built up in my head. If I had paid the ridiculous amount the original now demands and received a scent similar to this, I would have been so disappointed. As of now though, I'm quite pleased with this purchase and would consider buying more from Julianna's Perfume if they release any other dupes of discontinued, rare beauties.

This is a pleasant surprise - I get a very realistic take on gourmand notes without being overly sweet or feeling like I'm wearing a tub of chocolate frosting. I have several rich gourmands and there is a richness here but it feels less heavy than others I have. The chocolate is powdery and It's very enjoyable to wear. Delicious without being too foody. The spice opens gently without overpowering and the musk lays nicely in the background allowing this to remain a soothing gourmand throughout the wear for me. For this type of perfume - I would also say you could wear it nearly year round without overwhelming everyone around you. Recommend.

I had the opposite experience as Balexae’s review below. I purchased this and at first, second, third, and fourth wear I was disappointed. Zero chocolate that everyone raves about. It was a powdery assault, and nothing more. So I put it away. It had been over six months since then, when I took her out again on a cool, rainy spring day - and there was the chocolate! The powdery assault had waned to a soft powdery chocolate scent, rich and sweet, but not just sweet - there’s an uncomplicated complexity to the scent. Lovely. I do wonder how people are able to smell it all immediately upon getting the fragrance, mine needed to brew for months.

I would say this is mostly a pepper/spicy scent mixed with a sweet powder. I was actually surprised at how spicy it is. It’s definitely a cozy/warm scent, so it fairs better in colder weather. I don’t foresee myself grabbing for this as much as I thought, but I do like it. It’s a perfume for a night occasion. I like the spicy. I like the powder. I like the sweetness. But I do pick up on the rose note and it makes the fragrance pull more mature in my opinion. Edit: Doesn’t even have rose, but maybe it’s the labdanum?

It’s been too long since I’ve smelled the inspiration, “the queen herself,” GC, but this scent is addicting: a black and white milkshake, on an elevated level. So even if this may not be a close dupe (again, I can’t comment on that since I do not currently have a bottle of GC to compare side by side), I would recommend this scent if you want to smell like a divine dessert.

I just ordered this and I guess I will be the first review .. c ya tomorrow with my thoughts ! Update This is supposed to be a dupe / same DNA as gueralin gourman coquin . Never smelled that before , but this is nice. I do not like the opening at ALL.. very sharp pink pepper .. wait 5 mins and it turns out nice..its warm and chocolatey , but not too sweet.. It's an ok fragrance.. This is second fragrance from julianna and so far I am not impressed with them.. I have red carpet affair and that one is same DNA as gueralin Angelique noir , again never put my nose on that one , but if it smells anything like julianna red carpet affair , well then it's a big no!!! and not worth the hefty price tag.. red carpet affair. Sticks to high heaven. Hate to say it.. some reviews on you tube people like it . I dont know if A. I got a bad batch or mine went off. Or B. You tubers get sent this fragrances from the company and are sponsored, so they have to say nice things... I dont know. But that one is a scrubber! Again this fragrance , call me by your name is a decent one...

Starts out w/ spicy pink pepper, has a an almost chewy cacao note, some vanilla, and a musky base. It is a nice scent. Not quite I was looking for. Let's just cut in to what people want to know. Does it smell like Goumand Coquin? Last year...seeing the hype that this was a dupe for Gourmand Coquin, I ordered. It arrived. NO. Not a dupe for Gourmand Coquin. I don't even find it close, but again, it is a nice scent and if you like chocolatey scents, you enjoy this. I would call it an original scent creation.

I just had to get this, as it is one of my fave's that Guerlain has discontinued. Well, (sound like Reagan). To me, it might only be 50% close, if that~to Gourmand Coquin. It is a nice fragrance, and I will purchase it when they stock it again. But boy, I sure do wish Guerlain would make it available again. Don't get me wrong, Julianna's is a very nice fragrance. I think anybody who hasn't experienced Gourmand Coquin will love this if it's their type, and DNA. The price is great compared to GC. So, if anybody knows if Guerlain is going to bottle this up again, please do let me know! Julianna's has a few that I really do love though.

I LOVE this fragrance! It is the soft, sweet, dusty chocolate of my dreams ❤️ This smells exactly like what I wanted Hugo Boss The Scent Private Accord to smell like! I have not yet smelled Gourmand Coquin (I want to so badly) so I can’t compare, but this is everything. I honestly might order 2 bottles when it’s back in stock because I’m utterly addicted.

I understand this is meant to be a Gourmand Coquin dupe. It's not bad, but not strong enough, lacks that touch of fecal chocolate and is more like a cup of cocoa in a powdery chocolate way. Still really nice for a chocolate scent but less successful as a GC dupe

This is not comparable to Gourmand Coquin. This is a cheap tootsie roll by comparison and doesn’t scratch the deliciously spiced cocoa rum itch. Immediately sold it and I will cherish my 15ml remaining of GC decants.
