Lost in a Forest

The opening is a sharp pine lasting for only about 5 seconds. The scent then decays into a strong resinous, almost floral quality with the lavender, rosemary, and frankincense notes really coming out with a sort of freshness. After 30 or so minutes the true dampness of the scent weighs in with a notable petrichor and unlabeled damp moss note. To me this fragrance reminds me more of a lakeside scene with cattails and waterlilies rather than a forest; some of the woody notes are harder to find my nose. The dampness that occurs when the fragrance develops more is a truly truly gorgeous scent, and it layers well with other perfumes. I have layered it with the perfume November by For Strange Women (which is more woody and less damp) and this gives a more true deep forest scent to me. Its a shame that the warmer season is coming since this fragrance perfectly complements cooler weather with its crisp resin notes (though that hasn't stopped me from wearing it :P). Overall, I have to say I really like this scent and the mood it evokes. Deliberately smelling it on my clothes transports me to a woody lakeside vacation, and idly smelling it throughout the day is really soothing and melancholic in a good way.

My favourite heavy, wet, green scent. I cannot express just how damp and weighted this scent is. Incredibly green, in fact I struggle to detect and floral to it bar the lingering undertone of lavender which carries throughout the whole perfume. The pine, tomato leaf, and woody notes are the notes which immediately hit strong and demand attention. This scent lasts and it CLINGS, it lingers on clothing, leaving a lasting ambery oud. The scent is, to me, made up of deeply perennial greens and hence works across seasons: on a dark summer day, this would be haunting and reminiscent of the Pacific Northwest; on a drizzly spring day, it evokes a cool walk in botanical gardens. It would suit the change of seasons, the smell of damp leaves matches the experience of leaves browning and falling on your path. Finally, the aforementioned perennial greens, especially of pine, makes one think of deep winter, frosty and still. Truly a phenomenal scent.

Such a realistic forest scent, at first spray I was initially put off, but after wearing it a few times I found it utterly addicting! It got to a point where I was sniffing my arm at work just to immerse myself in the scent! Smells like forest at night, the rain is heavy and you can smell the wet earth. I wear this at night sometimes too and its great, cover yourself in soft textured blankets and pretend you’re buried underneath the earth one a rainy day. Very melancholiac scent, not everyone’s cup of tea! If you’re looking for something slightly lighter but still green and melancholiac then I’d recommend ‘Ghost cat’ also by Juliet rose, similar vibe just less heavy on the forest, more like a rainy graveyard, someone has left baby’s breath by a loved one grave - it’s a very gothic, haunting, cold scent that smells what I imagine being embraced by a ghost feels like!

I wasn't crazy about this one at first. The initial rosemary alongside the mulchy notes read a bit strange to my nose: slightly more cut grass than deep forest. But after spending some time getting used it (or perhaps after giving it a few days to age on my shelf), that initial punch blended with the woody notes, and I'm really quite addicted now. The pine and lavender are wonderful. Lots of unisex perfumes lean too masculine for me but this sits squarely in the middle. It's a perfect signature scent for those that want to stand out.

While it takes time to develop, I find the vetiver and frankincense to be the defining and longest lasting notes in this fragrance. Starts out piney, green, and fresh before deepening into something warm and resinous, like stepping out of the woods and into a church. I absolutely adore this scent.

A perfect forest in a bottle. The tomato leaf and petrichor initially brings a bright green scent that would make me think of a greenhouse if not for the pine, oud, and cedar bringing me right into a deep forest.

immediately i am assaulted with a deep, piney scent - something i personally find to be very offputting. i'd thought this would be green and wet as in "soaked soil and hydrated plants", not straight up pine forest. it smells quite like aftershave, which puzzles me, as this is intended to be unisex. there's a bit of a herby undertone as well, likely from the clove used. after the inital violence - 10-15 minutes - it's a bit more bearable. a few hours after that, it settles into a light, mossy-green scent that's more appealing, but still feels somewhat bland and old. it's dusty, making me think of long-forgotten perfume bottles on my grandma's dresser. it's just not something i would like to wear. my best advice is to buy a sample, and be aware that it'll likely be very, VERY strong on first application. don't apply it right before leaving the house!
