Miami Shake

Edit: After a couple weeks of testing I've concluded that Miami Shake is a Strawberry Daiquiri with white florals. Here is what I think the notes are: Strawberry syrup, strawberry liquor, rum, coconut, milk or heavy cream, musk, jasmine, and maybe gardenia, ylang, cashmeran, and ambroxan. Miami Shake by Juliette Has A Gun is an example of the marketing not matching the product. Miami Shake is NOT A GOURMAND like Yum Bougee Marshmallow! There are additional notes/accords making it a creamy fragrance with a strange strawberry note and maybe a touch of banana. It has a milky lotion-like aspect with a slightly savory buttered popcorn accord that pops out in the dry down. The strawberry is strongest in the opening and then blends into the sweet milk with interesting heavy floral molecules that are reminiscent of gardenia or abstract white floral, which could explain the "plastic" note that some people are detecting. I agree that this smells like a distant relative to Blanche Bette, which could have been the inspiration, but overall MS is a very original, high quality release. You will probably like this if you like Blanche Bette, Burberry Her (in the opaque light pink bottle), and Ode to Dullness. You will probably not like this if you are expecting the ice cream version of Yum Bougee Marshmallow that the notes list advertises. Performance is very good. This is going on my full bottle list. 5/5

JHAG is my favourite perfume house. You can read my review for how much I love Vanilla Vibes and consider it to be a masterpiece. I’ve also lately been really enjoying Superdose and Miss Charming. One thing about JHAG is they are quality! Especially for the price point their fragrances out perform even the most luxury ones in terms of longevity and sillage so it will be money well spent And as a gourmand lover, I’ve been waiting for this release I just got my sample It’s everything I wanted it to be and actually reminds me a lot of my other love Boardwalk Delight it’s sugary juicy fun with some creaminess and in typical JHAG fashion a salty note. It’s very airy and cold, great interpretation of the ice cream note, so this isnt your typical heavy, syrupy warm bakery gourmand. This is a flirty spring summer candy like gourmand. Part of me wishes that in typical JHAG fashion it had their signature healthy dose of ambroxan for extra longevity but still, I absolutely love it and it will be my summer scent. Will update the review once I purchased the full bottle. **btw for those who want a sample JHAG offers for you to pick 3 for $20 on their site, and this is an option**

I really like this, to me it smells like a strawberries and cream chupachup! Sometimes it dries down to if someone had lit a pocky stick shaped and scented incense stick, sometimes it stays a sticky strawberries and cream chupachup and condensed milk, I really love it in colder weather but it works in hot weather too. The longevity of this is insane, I wore it all day layered with Annabelle’s birthday cake this morning and it completely over powered ABC, I wore it to work, then set up a wrestling ring and then showered and I can still smell it on my skin, I think the JHAG base they use in all their scents can make some go nose blind easily, their vanilla vibes scent which I love always fades fast to me because I go nose blind quickly to it but still get compliments hours after I can’t smell it anymore. I can see why it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I personally love it! Not a safe blind buy.

Thissss one, omg. This one knocked me flat over, but like not in a bad way. I never knew a fragrance could be so powerful. That first hit is almost too strong, I wont lie. But give it a few minutes, it turns into the brightest, fruitiest scent with cream, just like a milkshake. If you ever complain about not being able to smell a fragrance on yourself, trust me on this one, this one you absolutely will. After a couple hours, you're left with a softer, milky scent that is still super noticable. Just 10/10, a wild summer in a bottle. I will say, because of its strength, I have to be in a really certain mood to want to wear this one. One spray is plenty, btw, which is fantastic because the travel size is huuuuuge and well-priced for what you're getting. I will also always adore the name of Juliette has a Gun, like she's just iconic like that.

Oh wowwww! I love a gourmand scent and this one is absolutely delicious! I love strawberry milkshakes, so what’s better than eating one when you can’t have one? Smelling like one! The strawberry is so yummy and sweet and it evolves into a beautiful creamy vanilla. Smells exactly like a strawberry milkshake to me! I could also smell it on my clothes days after I first wore it. My sister loved the sample so much I let her keep it (but sometimes I secretly steal a spray or two, don’t tell her I said that, though). If you’re going on a cute summer outing in the daytime and love strawberry, milkshakes, both, or super sweet gourmands in general, you’ll probably want to wear this one! It’s so fun and makes me instantly feel happier once I wear it.

I'm not a fan of the JHAG house - the past decade or so, every time they release a fragrance, I'm just never drawn to what I smell. But Miami Shake is different! There's something so sexy about it. You'd be forgiven for thinking it's "just another" feminine, fruity scent, but something about the "musky whipped cream" - what the brand calls it - just makes it so fun in a more grown-up way. I love it. It's been my late summer-going into fall staple. One spray and I get gentle wafts of thick strawberry vanillary custardy warmth all day, literally until I tuck myself in at night. Two or more sprays and people around me notice it. Love this! I will use up my travel size for sure.

The hate on this perfume is forced. It's beautiful, creamy, like a vanilla cake with strawberry frosting. Like the user before me, it is nostalgic in a grown up manner, and I couldn't agree more! Seems like a lot of people hate on things just for the sake of it. I don't get where people are getting vomit from, it's just throwing random words to show disdain FFS! I have had a tester and I loved it and received it as a Christmas present! Can't wait till Christmas day to try this one out and look out for longevity! But so far it cosy and nice, last long time! The reviews for this perfume crack me up. I seem to be in the minority here; I love it! It's the only perfume (so far) that I've decided to spend big bucks on and get the full size. I just love how sweet and happy it smells. The strawberry definitely fades fast, but it turns into this yummy creamy cotton candy on the skin that I just can't get enough of. I'm not sure where some people are getting "vomit" from... I guess that's just a testament to how different some perfumes are on people. Anyway, I recommend that you keep scrolling to read these reviews. Y'all are funny.

I got my sample today. I’m definitely going to get a full bottle. I was reading on here about people saying it’s nothing like Burberry Her. I agree. I didn’t like that one at all. It’s a strawberry scent I’ve been searching for. It has the same kind of scent as the other JHAG fragrances have, but definitely a sweet, strawberry and creamy fragrance. I’ve worn it now for 4 hours and still going strong. It’s not overpowering maybe arms length projection, I usually like beast mode scents though. Its definitely Husband approved. 😃

My sample just arrived today and oh my god, I love it. I used to religiously wear strawberry perfume and lotion as a kid, and this fragrance is like meeting a childhood friend for coffee after many years, all grown up. This is a sultry, classy gourmand. The strawberry feels real and bittersweet more than sweetshop sickly, the vanilla dries down to a gorgeous skin scent and there's a hint of something marine, salty or ozone creeping through (perhaps the fresh note). I hope to get my hands on a full size when it's released.

I don't understand the bad reviews. Is it a serious gourmand? No, but with all the seriousness in my life, I refuse to let my perfume be a part of that. To me it smells like strawberry milk. I don't really get the "milkshake" part of it, but there is definitely a lactic smell to it - the strawberry is sweet and it lasts FOREVER. JHAG is notorious for developing into a richer scent after some maceration and I'm certain it will be the same for this one. If you don't like it, okay - but the hate is insane to me. lol

Miami Shake has a plasticky opening but I kinda love it? Maybe it's because of the nostalgia it brings as it reminds me of when I would play with Barbie and Bratz dolls in my pink room growing up. It also smells like those strawberry scented lipglosses you would get for like $1 as a kid. You definitely have to have some kind of emotional attachment to enjoy this fragrance or else it will just fall flat. I will say though: it is quite long lasting on the skin if you're looking for a sweet fragrance that lasts.

This is a masterpiece in my opinion & the only JHAG that I actually like. I get a really sour & synthetic milky strawberry syrup, with something bitter & boozy like a liquorice or rum note, & a burst of white florals like orange blossom or jasmine, it's complex with many layers & it really takes you on a journey, so it's something you either love or hate. I shouldn't love it as much as I do, but I can't help but to be so drawn to it, this perfume is an anomaly & I'm afraid I love it.

First sniff and I was in LOVE!!! I find it to be a tiny bit similar to Powder Love by JHAG? That sort of chalky sweet smell feels present in both scents. Miami Shake is fun, girly, playful, and just the right amount of sweet. It's got a nostalgic scent to it but still feels mature. It's just too good, what's not to love? It immediately hits with one spray and lasts a pleasing amount of time. I got this in a discovery set but may just have to splurge on a full bottle!

Smells exactly like YSL lip gloss used to (I'm not sure which one), which was unexpected, but I adored the smell of the lip gloss so it was a pleasant surprise. It only started to smell like that once settled into my skin - in the opening, it smelled very much like a super-sweet strawberry ice cream. Though the opening was nice, I much prefer the sweet and powdery berries and makeup smell. Longevity is meh --> 2-3 hours. Silage is intimate once settled into the skin.

I bought the travel size after seeing so many mixed reviews and I'm ngl I really like it. I layer with the plur heavy cream or a vanilla oil and it works really well. For me it is definitely more of a summer scent, it feels beachy, playful, and young. The strawberry smell is for sure more artificial compared to Burberry Her Elixir, but I kinda like it. It's like getting a strawberry shortcake milkshake from Nifty Fifties lol. I will get a full size by next summer.

I really like this Perfume. I got many compliments from my coworkers. And it lasts really long! I wore it at 10 am and until now around 8 pm, i still can smell it. Although, I haven't reapplied it. I don't know whether people around me still can smell it or not, but i dont care, i wear it for myself. Don't understand, why ppl don't like this perfume. Yeah, people nose are different. In my nose, the scent is really nice and airy. I like it!!

i expected this to be plasticky and kinda bad but i honestly love it!! it's surprisingly complex and woody and honestly just really sexy but not in a way that makes it too much for daytime. i've had the travel size bottle for like a week and there's already a huge dent cause i'm wearing this thing daily. as a certified floral hater it's so nice to find a sweet summer scent that isn't too cloying OR floral

It's sweet and delicious smelling! It's a bit simple, which is great for it. I wore it to a fair, full of greasy and strong smelling foods, and every time I turned my shoulder I could smell the spritz of Miami Shake. I could still smell it once I got home, which was six hours later. It's not strong, but the sweetness is distinctly notable! Not an everyday for me, but definitely perfect for fun outings.

I really love this fragrance! I feel like it’s a soft gourmand, but with a more perfumey feeling to it, not edible. For me, when I think of gourmands, I think about mouthwatering photo realistic smells. This one is unique in its own sense. I think it really depends on how everyone experiences it on their own skin, but I think it has a really nice mature summery vibe. Justice for Miami Shake!!

Smells excellent on me! Not fake at all or chemically as one review describes! It’s not fruity as in being immature! It’s soft strawberry ice cream on me. Lasting power is excellent for a JHAG! Even though this winter/holidays I love it! It fits this time of year! I can say I really like it! Im in my late 50’s so Ive been around the block with fragrances! 😂

MS is exactly what the notes talk about, a cone of yummy strawberry ice cream over a large spoon of vanilla cream. Exactly. What. The. Notes. Are. Big Love!

It gives Artificial flower shop to me. Not in a bad way! It smells mature on my skin so I think ill shelf this one for a later time in life. This would be stunning on an older sophisticated, fashionista type woman.

My ABSOLUTE favorite fragrance. I wear this DAY and NIGHT. The dry down just smells so good on my skin!!!!!! I'd recommend letting it dry on your skin before you judge it right off the bottle fragrance . I LOVE IT

I do not understand all the hate for this one. It smells like summer. Like a late night stop at an ice cream shop on your way home from a day outside on the boardwalk. It's sweet, creamy, and nostalgic. I love it.

This is very cutesy! Raspberry/strawberry shaved ice drenched in sweetened condensed milk. Very uncomplicated and very wearable. It's a yes from me!

I’m surprised I like this so much because I don’t really like vanilla scents but the strawberry dries to a pear and coconut and I really love it!

Something about this makes me so nostalgic. Love it

Sweet, vanilla, fruity, powdery, musky, creamy, airy, feminine, sensual, flirty, playful, whimsical, dreamy, even a bit unique On me this opens with a sweet yet synthetic leaning strawberry that comes across more as strawberry syrup rather than fresh strawberries. The strawberry is swirled with a sweet, airy, and quite musky whipped cream, which is all topped on creamy and cool vanilla ice cream. The strawberry fades some as this dries down, and the musky whipped cream and vanilla ice cream take center stage. The dry down is where this starts to really shine for me. The strawberry and musky whipped cream smooth out as they melt into the creamy vanilla ice cream, leaving a yummy, creamy, and cool vanilla with swirls of strawberry and powdery musk. This isn’t as sweet as you might expect, and it is quite musky and creamy. I can see how this is a very hit or miss fragrance. If you’re expecting this to be something like Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow, it’s not particularly close even with its similar notes. YBM is sweeter, more light and fluffy (or marshmallow-y), less creamy, and with a more realistic strawberry. I definitely recommend trying it for yourself first, or only ordering a sample or travel spray if you’re unable to test it in store. I blind bought the travel spray, and I’m glad that’s what I went with. I like this (particularly the dry down), but it’s not a love for me (whereas YBM is my current signature scent). It’s something that I really need to be in the mood for, and I don’t reach for it super often. I get great performance from Miami Shake. The longevity is very good, it lasts about 7 hours on my skin before needing a touch up. The projection is moderate, it radiates out about 2-3 feet from me. For reference, I do own several other JHAG fragrances including: Lust For Sun, Vanilla Vibes, Powder Love (my 3 favorites, the rest are nice enough, but not loves for me), Not A Perfume, Pear Inc, Magnolia Bliss, and Juliette. Pineapple punch!? To my nose, this smells tropical! I know, shocker. I pick up a pineapple scent, it's quite reminiscent of the Ouai scent Barts. I really like it for the summer, especially in combination with Wavechild. It creates a perfect pineapple-watermelon cocktail, very yummy and summery. Nevertheless, this fragrance definitely surprised me in a good way, it doesn't smell as artificial as people say, at least to me, and for the price, I think it can be a solid summer wear. On me, it lasts around 4/5 hours with medium projection (I do overspray). Hope this review is not very confusing, as I'm describing a whole different perfume than the notes show. On second thought, there is some aspect that reminds me of ice cream, cold and crunchy (because of the cone). I just don't get strawberry at all, and the vanilla is quite faint, it's not very sweet. Another comparison I can make is with Akro Rise. I had both of them on a blotter next to each other and they smell strikingly similar; but Akro Rise had a bit too much of a sunscreeny linger for my taste.

This fragrance triggers a sense of nostalgia for me, which definitely makes me biased. Trying to be as objective as possible, I’d say it’s overly sweet and very synthetic, almost to the point of feeling childish. That said, I personally still love it. The fruity notes don’t smell realistic, instead they come across as very artificial, it is a chemical fruit smell. It strongly reminds me of the scented glitter pens we had as kids. They smell almost identical. The opening can be quite intense and invasive, so I’d recommend waiting about 15 minutes after spraying before going outside. Longevity could be better, while projection is on the stronger side, especially during the opening, but it settles down a little afterward. It does smell cheap and doesn’t really justify its price tag. If it were unbranded, it could easily be mistaken for something you’d find for around €6 at Primark. However, the “cheap” impression comes from the character of the scent itself, not poor blending. It’s actually quite well rounded, and the notes work well together.

Upon the first spray, I get this burst of sweet, juicy strawberries, and as it dries, a beautiful hint of cream comes through. It truly settles into a strawberry milkshake scent after about 10 minutes. As it wears down, some of the fruitiness fades but is replaced by a rich, milky warmth that I genuinely love; it's super creamy with a nice tinge of vanilla. My mom described it perfectly: 'A cute surfer girl gliding down a hill on roller skates while a vanilla-strawberry swirl cone melts down her arms.' It’s just a fun, joyous, and innocent scent. I say this with nothing but love, but some of the negative reviews feel a bit discerning to a fault. Yes, it may be perceived as OVERLY sweet and too youthful, but look at the notes and the name! If super-sweet gourmands aren't your thing, this won't be either. But if you love a true dessert scent, this is it.

plasticky, sweet, musky. it’s weird but i kinda like it? i can’t stop smelling myself when i wear it but it’s not something i need in my collection all the time. it’s funky. borderlines a tropical feel at times but then turns into a sticky bubblegummy concoction. i always smell pina colada when i first spray it and then it slowly turns into a musky artificial strawberry scent. definitely one of the strangest scents i own, i like it more as a novelty and “just for fun” fragrance. i wouldn’t wear this to work. this is strong and it projects far on my skin. sticks to clothing forever!! 7+ hours of wear. this is cloying (on me) during warm weather. i had better luck with it in the cooler months. fun and quirky scent, in my opinion!!

Incredibly strange... but very interesting. To me, this doesn't smell much at all like its listed notes. I can kind of force myself to interpret it in that milky, strawberry icecream way, but my default impression of it is just grape soda. I have never smelled anything like it. I don't think it's an everyday scent. It reads as very carnival/county fair to me, which is fine and fun, but not as practical and usable as I would assume the intended scent would be. I would not reccomend this fragrance to a strawberry lover who goes into it dying for that promised strawberry milkshake aroma. But to somebody who wants to smell like they've just spent an evening eating cotton candy and riding suitcase-coasters? 100%. 7/10

I am so confused. What I'm smelling does not match the notes listed at all. I'm getting floral and something woodsy/musky. I can kind of smell strawberry since it has been suggested, but without the suggestion, I don't think I would have pinned it down as more than just barely a hint of some fruit. Zero vanilla, zero cream. I'm smelling the tester from their discovery kit, and I just sprayed it again to double check that this is indeed Miami Shake. This is very strange. I wish I could elaborate more, but my nose is still pretty new to all this. That said, I like it a lot more than I expected, because I hate creamy vanilla scents, lol. It's nice, it just smells nothing like the description.

When I tested this in store on a paper strip, I didnt read any of the fragrance notes. To me this smelled like watermelon, beachy vanilla. Really really enjoyed what I was smelling on paper strip. After buying the bottle, yes I can get a bit of that "vomit" vibe on my skin, but thankfully its only in the very initial blast opening and lasts like 15min and then the rest of the fragrance is very nice. Overall, .....its a summer gourmand with red fruity, creamy vanilla laid over a sunscreen type backbone. I got a "tester" bottle online for only like $65 for the 3.2oz, and at that price yes its worth a buy. But not for $150 retail....no way.

Strawberry cupcake... But one taken from a Barbie playset. Or better yet, one of these circa 2008 plastic cupcake lip balms... For some reason these Juliette perfumes ring sentimental for me especially for childhood summer - Lust for the Sun is just like a suncream I had as a kid and Banana Rush reminds me of banana and honey ice cream we had in Poland in early 00’s. They bring back specific memories to the point I can’t even tell if I like them as scents separated from the nostalgia. But as a gourmand lover I find Miami Shake easily wearable and fun without being overwhelmingly sweet or too complex for the summer

🍓🍦🫖🥭🌺🤏🍹 On me, it smells like a bitey spiced strawberry wine cooler, vanillic, overly ripe mango, tropical florals and a tiny bit creamy overpriced strawberry margarita on the finish. I don't hate it but it's nothing spectacular or a must-have scent. I'm happy with my mini splash bottle and 2ml spritzer. I won't need more than that. EDIT: It's been about 4 months and I found a combination that just hits all the right buttons! Layer this under Chanel's Mademoiselle. Creates an instant 10/10 dusky sweet, floral fruity aura, mature and beautiful! 7/10 Better than Born in Roma but not Flowerbomb. Still.

I don't get the hate towards this fragrance... I find it to be one of the nicest, most subtle sweet strawberry fragrances out there. After a few hours the strawberry is gone any you're left with a warm, milky vanilla smell. If you want a fresher note it's surely not for you, but you shouldn't be considering this one in the first place. Quite similar to the Nest Santa Barbara Strawberry perfume oil, with better performance. Nice gourmand that is fresh enough for summer.

Miami Shake is the brand's first true gourmand, built around creamy wild strawberries, musky whipped cream, and vanilla. It really does smell like a rich, sweet milkshake and leaves a lasting scent trail. The strength is intense; the vanilla and coconutty notes linger for ages and stay strong throughout. The only downside for me is that the dry down can be a bit headache-inducing. Not blind buy safe. Everyone's nose / skin is different. Your experience may differ.

I don’t get why this has so much hate, I actually really enjoy this fragrance it smells sugary sweet, head turning and absolutely gorgeous, the hate is just forced at this point it needs to be stopped cause it’s not even bad, I can definitely smell the the icecream vanilla and then u finally get the strawberry at the end, nothing clashes and everything is blended in well, although it isn’t my typical scent that I normally go for but still gorgeous 7/10

Strawberry milkshake, with a hint of something else. Don’t try this expecting Strawberry Shortcake vibes, this is more Frenchy drinking a milkshake at the diner. It’s sweet but musky, far more complex than just sugar. It reminds me of evenings spent at the carnival, cotton candy mixed with smokey warm air. It can be worn in the daytime on a spring day, but it’s far more suited to summer evenings spent reclaiming your youth.

Super sweet strawberry and vanilla. I've seen many other perfumes be compared to the scent of strawberry shortcake dolls and to me this one is the closest. It does have a bit of that synthetic plastic smell but I personally love it in conjunction with the super sweet strawberry, its very nostalgic and comforting. When it dries down its a nice powdery strawberry with some vanilla subtly underneath.

Lovely frag! What is the hate though??? This is LITERALLY a strawberry milkshake summer vibe. Sweet, creamy, pink, fun. If you don’t like gourmands... Why are you even trying Miami Shake?? It does exactly what it says. Milkshake, strawberry, summer. Not everything needs to be complex, mysterious, enveloping. Sometimes you just want to smell like a cute dessert in the sun and this DELIVERS.
