Imperial Oud

If you like the smell of leather, wood, smoke and vanilla then this EDP fragrance is a must for you. Let me introduce the entire package. Inside the packaging is a box with wooden finish and brass placard with J. engraved. Uncovering the box reveals an almost cube-shaped bottle that represents luxury, solidity and simplicity of the fragrance it contains. Stained wood cover, of same shade as the fluid within - a clear venetian-red, sits atop a clear and elegant bottle that feels like a paperweight. The fragrance designer must have envisioned Imperial Oud as a fragrance that belongs on a desk within arm reach of someone who is destined to create wonders. Imperial Oud reminds you of subtlety in luxury, elegance and resolute yet soft tones in the art of perfumery. The fragrance is floral vanille on its application that initially is a but harsh. This phase is short lived and within a few moments its main accords are revealed - a soft-warm-sweet, steady, fresh and discernible blend of sandalwood, leather on a vanilla base. Amber and Oud are present but not quite distinguishable. The trail from this fragrance is as addictive as your favourite TV series with each episode delivering the same thrill and drama as the previous one. Apart from the discoverable for those who care about gourmand ingredients, the scent leaves a mark of sweet leathery-wood and a slight hint of smoke and forest that is pleasant over time, and does not fade away easily on skin. Lastly, just like everyones testimony, I would consider it as a worthy fragrance from the J. line that resembles a blend of T.F. Ombre Leather and Tuscan Leather, but not the same and a phenomenal quality substitute offering long lasting performance. Overall, a great buy.

My first ever fragrance from the house of J. Amazing scent profile, and the longevity is decent too. Warm dry down and fills the room. I've had this since 2023 I guess but barely used it. Until recently a couple of months ago I used it. The packaging is also excellent, as expected from the house of J. J. Fragrances are really underrated. Do give it a try especially during the winters. Would I buy this again? Probably yes as I love it's scent profile.

the opening is a bit of a head-turner, then comes the oud mixed with vanilla... after hours you're only left with vanilla n leather n oud in the background .. women can use it if layered with another sweet perfume... but it's more male.. great for formal wear ... can be used for casual wear too ! anyone who's new to oud, you can try with this one, you might love it !

Nice dark fragrance. Good for those trying to buy their first oud scent.

First of all let me say that I am not among the fans of Tom Ford Tuscan Leather - I find it more of an artistic statement fragrance than a people pleaser and if anything repels more ladies than it draws - which is a disaster for a male scent let's face it. Ok so I hit the button on this for £24.99 on eBay UK after being dazzled by the packaging and bottle presentation. Janan (aka Junaid Jamshed) Imperial Oud arrived in a fantastically packed shipping parcel with some nice branded touches. The box and bottle are very impressive indeed - look and feel niche, high end. The scent inside has a gloriously sweet-tobacco-amber opening which is really lovely and has a more than adequate sillage for a good 4-5 hours. Then there's the dry-down which for me is the part I was hoping wouldn't be what it is reported to be - my bad I guess. Yes, I'm sorry to say the dry down is pretty much all bitter, green, dry Patchouli and Leather with a very, very small hint of vanilla sweetness. This is so similar to Tuscan Leather as to be sibling. I have some other sweet autumn fragrances which I will try layering with this hoping this will temper that harsh dry down. I so hope it does work because the opening as well as the presentation are worth owning this fragrance for. If I can't make that dry down work with my skin chemistry then it'll have to be sold on, unfortunately. Update 21/09/2023: Ok, what just happened?! I've had my bottle in a dark drawer for nearly 12 months now (since last autumn) and today decided to dig it out and have a spritz. Wo! Some extra time macerating plus some oxidation has really worked wonders. This is so much nicer now. It still has the same overall character but the bitter-sour accord has dropped back considerably and Imperial Oud has become a standalone fragrance in the process. Much smoother, vanilla-amber-spicy opening tinged with a slightly dirty leather and some soft Violet-like florals. The dry down holds the Vanilla-Amber warm sweetness as well as the earthy, dirty leather. At this point there is also a noticeable, peppery, Patchouli adding its voice to the ensemble. All in all a totally different beast from when I first bought it. Definitely a very wearable cold weather scent for smart or casual occasions and I would agree with @Fahadurk this could reasonably be considered more of a unisex style scent too albeit still masculine leaning. Glad I hung onto this as I very nearly sold it and looking online it is harder to come by now. Phew! 😏

First off, though it doesn’t matter towards the scent itself, the presentation is great. Better than most that I’ve seen in the same price range. For the scent, be sure you’re interested in oud fragrances before you buy. There is the undeniable musky body that comes with the territory. All that being said... I like it! It’s smoky, it’s dark, it’s sophisticated. For some imagery, it literally smells like a cigar lounge with a lot of leather and wood. On the back end of the experience, I do pick up a rose pedal like note... Not in a bad way but I could see how people would claim this as unisex. The only complaint is it could be slightly spicier. If you’re looking for an exciting new niche fragrance in your collection, try it out!

Honestly, this is noway near to the Tom Ford at all. Infact, I feel this should be a Unisex perfume rather than a "Male only". Overall a good perfume with long-lasting fragrance. But, I'd rather not purchase this again.

Its similar to Imperial vellay,a very strong sweet leather oud beast performance

Presentation vide the wooden box and top are pretty nice. Now in terms of scent it’s a 3/5 for me. The atomisers is amazing but for a perfume this strong it’s an overkill the first spray kind of drowns you in its smell instantly and is harsh on the nose. Later on the dry down gets better as more of the vanilla kicks in. The performance isn’t that great for an oud based perfume tbh I’ll last atleast around 3-6 (6 being a stretch ) hours unlike most oud scents which stick to u like paint. Ps:- My friend asked why my car smelt like cough syrup when I had this on. A real estate agent asked if I had just comes from a leather factory when I arrived to his office wearing this perfume

Dont pick up this perfume it gets unbearable after a while the leather is just way to nauseating at the dry-down I've genuinely never had the urge to throw a perfume bottle.

In Short, It is a lighter version of Tuscan Leather.
