Ambraser

A piece of Amber repeated dunked into the dead sea and dried, covering it in crystalline salt. This is a modern, ambergris recreation, IES dominant in the opening drying to a leathery, amber accord which then turns a Little soured and resembles Amberome base, which isn't in here but is actually real labdanum according to the formula. Strange though because it has a distinctly rubbery, mineral odour that I associate with it, bit odd for me. Reminded me of 'Slate' a perfume from Bath House in the drydown. The saltiness with the largely modern, woody, amber is kinda interesting I suppose? Would I wear it? No.But it's not offensive. Anything interesting to note about the formula supplied for this one? Not really other than it's considered as an 'Oriental Vanilla' by it's creator(???) bit odd. 30% Iso E Super which is not surprising or haute compared to some.

Don't know how to describe this but I like it. This is the second fragrance I'm trying from this house, and both develop very dynamically on my skin - the opening is woodsy but in a matter of minutes turns more amber-y and then settles in a comforting amber veil. The citrus is present all along, but in the back seat. Longevity is not a strong point, though, and after the 4-hour mark the scent acquires a certain saliva-like quality.

100% unisex, I smell the beach with salt, sand and the amber. More for hot days, I really think the description is perfect to describe this perfume: "A childhood memory: I have three grains in my hand: a grain of salt, a grain of sun, a grain of skin. I put them on the top of my sandcastle. The sea and the wind carried them away. Three grains of sand remained in my hand, in my closed fist, three fragrances warm in my memory." 6/10, too mineral to me, but I appreciate the originality, it is unique!

Smells like the new version of Oud Minérale, synthetic and metallic. It's no surprise who made this, as like all of the perfumes in his own brand (Matière Première) there's a backbone of harsh, screechy fixatives. Some people will like this - those who can tolerate the amberwoods - I don't really.

I get the sea analogy, but this reminds me of a shrine: like candles, metalwork, incense and old damp wood. It brings memories of childhood, so though it’s very warm, dark and intense, it feels a manageable nostalgia. I can still smell it on my arm the next day, like a distant memory.
