Andaluiza

I feel like J U S Parfums is such an underrated brand. Not sure why... Anyway, during a recent holiday in France, I had the opportunity to try a couple of their fragrances and some of them are really good! Obviously, not everything will suit my taste like with any other brand. Case in point, Andaluiza. If you’re into a linear, sweet, fruity, vanillic, resinous, ambery, lactonic fragrances with a good performance you’re in for a treat! Andaluiza belongs to the warm and fruity fragrance family, offering a mixture of warmth and sweetness within the gourmand category. It opens with a sweet, juicy mandarin orange mixed with overripe pomegranate. The fruity character stays throughout the entire life of the fragrance, but the middle and base notes add a subtle hint of creaminess from the milk, a strong note of warm amber from the labdanum and amber wood and a good amount of sweet vanilla from the tonka beans. I can’t understand why people would say this is similar to BR540 Extrait. It’s not. Yes, it’s an intensely sweet scent like BR540 Extrait, but Andaluiza has a very pronounced fruity smell and a creamy texture that makes it distinctive in my opinion. This is a standalone fragrance and a good one! I would rather say it’s a sweeter version of Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming, but without florals and amped up on vanilla and amber. Performance wise, it lasts well. It’s a long lasting scent with great sillage for the first 2-3 hours. I see this worn mostly during fall and winter season since it’s such a strong scent with an intense sweetness and creaminess. Presentation on this brand is kinda unique, very interesting, comes into a burgundy metallic cylinder surrounding a cranberry rounded shape glass bottle with a black, heavy cap with the name of the brand on the top of the cap. Not the most luxurious packaging but it shows attention to detail and it’s definitely different from the norm, things that I always appreciate.

Spicy fruity but so delicious! 🍊 Perfect for end of fall and winter 🍁 This is exactly what i imagine Persephone smells like when she's in the underworld. Ambery warmth and that sweet embrace. ❤️ Sillage is strong and i smell it throghout the day (sprayed on neck). Maybe one spritz is enough, why i did two this morning is a mystery to me 😅

Pour les personnes qui disent que ça sent le parfum bon marché, n'avez-vous donc pas de nez ? Je trouve, au contraire, que c'est un chef d'œuvre, par la simplicité de ses notes, avec le combo grenade/ambre qui est sublime. Je sais bien qu'il en faut pour tout le monde mais de la à dire que ça sent le parfum bon marché, c'est insensé.

Extremely complex; 9/10 I have made this the only fragrance I wear on Christmas and thanksgiving days

A strong, spicy-fruity perfume with a bit of woodiness (from cedar). Very synthetic but nevertheless pleasant. Overall effect is festive, Christmassy. Opens with a strong blast of ambroxide, but this settles nicely in the background soon after and isn’t too bothersome. The fruitiness registered as fairly generic to me, but does have that pleasantly dark-acidic feel that pomegranate tastes like. The most prominent note is the tonkalactone. I usually dislike tonka, I find it not only too sweet but also very scratchy, like inhaling cinnamon. But the tonkalactone is a big improvement on typical tonka notes. It creates a much smoother effect, and the spicy facets feel more natural. In the far dry-down ambroxide unfortunately completely takes over.

When I smell this (and I know it does not make any sense) to me this smells like Christmas tree. Labdanum and orange could give that vibe? Either way I can no longer look past this first impression thus I have put this aside for December. I`m strange, I know.

For amber / woody lovers. East and West! Pomegranate (acid and fruity) with a strong amber note and a woody base. More for fall and winter, a very warm fragrance. 100% unisex. It is a bold fragrance, with excellent sillage and longevity.

This perfume smells like walking into both an antique store and incense store at the same time. The fruitier notes don't last long (on me personally), but it leaves a nice warm spicy undertone. Perfect for the winter and fall seasons

Juicy, Sweet, Creamy, Spicy Opens with a juicy slightly spicy sweetness progresses to a creamy vanillic sweet and spicy musky woods. I really like this one too!

Intriguing and quite strange scent. Opens up very fruity and sweet from the pomegranate, dries down to a spicy, fruity creamy scent. The dry down reminds me of 'PEZ Raspberry/strawberry candy'...quite strange.

I was really excited for this one, but it's not for me. Smells synthetic and caused a headache. The opening on my skin was actually lactonic, which was interesting, but then the synthetic sour pomegranate note came through and stayed. I don't get much else, no labdanum, no wood. Just one note synthetic fruit scent. Disappointing.

Smells like the experience of going inside of a new taxi car with the cheapest car scent and getting a headache for the rest of the day. Horribly cheap and synthetic smelling. Nothing niche about it. The bottle looks and feels cheap too. The scent and bottle would make me think it costs €5,99

wonderful semi synthetic pomegranate- though a bit cologne-y in the opening. im getting a hint of passionfruit thats reminiscent of kirke. though this is much more beautiful.

The perfume is named Andaluiza, not Andalusia. Isn't it? It's on the box (see Fragram Photos).

Fragrantica, please change the name of the fragrance!!! it's incorrect on the page!
