Sexycrush

On my skin I get a core of Dial Gold Soap (soapy, thick, musky and clean) that is accentuated with patchouli, rose, vanilla, sour lemon, an incense stick, dry amber and woods (a lot of gurjun balsam, which is something like a soft mix of cedar pine and patch). I think there's a strong note of earthy and faintly lemony geranium in that core soap accord, adding a fatty waxiness. I also get hints of coffee beans, honey, and even a touch of Zino Davidoff. Sounds kind of odd and it is. Part of me feels like it should be more floral, or more vanillic, or more oudy...just overtly *more* of something or other. And yet it is the thick soapy core that makes this such a comforting scent to wear for me and one I reach for often. It's an oriental dumb reach and I do not say that disparagingly. The little nuances of this and that keep it interesting with repeated wearings. You can sniff deep and pick up some new subtle facet, or sniff casually and just enjoy that warm soapy ambery goodness. The name is a bit of a misnomer, at least in that it elicits thoughts of something far more out there. It's only a sexy crush in the way of say, smelling your lover's hair (during a non-sexual embrace). Comforting and warm and enveloping; not the throes of passion.

J.U.S. sexycrush smells like marshmallows, in a good way. I'd describe it as a vanilla marshmallow scent, with some faint leathery undertones. There is some minute overlaps with Armani stronger with you parfum, so if you like that, you might like this.

This is really potent scent. Is warm, and dark. Spicy, leathery and then citrusy. 15 minutes after smells different, leather and wet soil. Really not for everyone. I love it.

For me this opens up more woody citrus rather then ambery and woody, great smell and in the opening it kind of reminds me off vanilla shot from Olfactive studios, but don’t get me wrong it’s just in the opening In the drydown this is more earthy and ambery, aswell as the patchouli start to come trough Projection is 3/5 Longevity is 4/5 Smell is 4/5 Great fragrance and is at the point between overpriced and fairly rated price.

Leathery, Smoky, Rosy, Woody, Hint of Sweet Vanilla Musk Smells like wearing a leather jacket with a rose in the lapel while sitting by a fireplace. Starts with a very oud-y woodsy rose then I get earthy woodsy and smoky patchouli and rose with a hint a of vanilla, followed by a musky slightly sweet vanilla musk. Sillage: 3/5 Projection: 3/5 Longevity: 3/5 Leans unisex.

A modern fragrance. Dark streets and neon signs of night clubs come to my mind. The top is quite vibrant and screechy but wears off quickly to reveal a powdery oud heart. Can't believe I'm saying it, but I actually like it (it's totally not me).

Sexycrush is far from being a crush for me. I was genuinely expecting to like it, if not love it, judging by the notes listed but the labdanum, the Indian oud and a very dirty, damp, musty patchouli are the core notes that I detect and overpower everything else in this composition. Because of this reason, I perceive Sexycrush as being more of a masculine scent, very bold and strong! I would like to smell this on a guy. It’s a statement type of fragrances that makes you noticed in the crowd! Smells very leathery, earthy and slightly bitter. I can detect, but very subdued, a touch of a deep, dark rose and some vanilla in the dry down. Not much else comes up on my skin! Very intense and powerful scent. Not my favourite from JUS Parfums but they have solid scents for sure.

This potent perfume is an oriental woody with strong notes of oud, wood and patchouli, with a small touch of rose. I don't smell vanilla. Sexy for a men, more for night, winter and fall to my opinion. The sillage and the longevity are excellent. You can try this brand with the discovery set. 6/10 for a man Perfume description: "A perfume of infinite contrasts, in which Rose, Oud and Vanilla commingle to create an addictive olfactory imprint with all the emotion of the Spice Road. The fragrance evokes a memory of visiting a relative's place. It was hot and humid inside. Smoke from the burning joss sticks filled the air. There was something unique about the old furniture pieces in the living room; they smelled kind of balsamic and musky. For me, Sexycrush doesn't really live up to its name, and I don't think I can pull it off, but it is definitely a nostalgic number.

Citrus, amber, patchouli, musk. Nice. Nothing ground breaking but nice. This is very soft. I suspect longevity will be subpar because at best this is a skin scent but it is lovely nose to skin.

Reviewing a sample from 2024. Sexycrush was launched in 2018. A clean rose-oud clobbered by overbearing synthetics. Not sexy. Sexycrush opens with a short burst of citrus followed by synthetic florals and woods. This is all gone in minutes leaving a generic clean musk. Does not seem to have a coherent concept other than taking rose-oud into the superclean powdery musk territory. Someone thought this was a good idea? Quality-fair ( not enough or any naturals, where is the oud?) Unisex Performance-poor (skin scent in 15 min.) Ignoring the ridiculous name aimed at teenagers, this is a fresh generic version of rose-oud. Forgettable. 4/10

I don't understand why they give us the formula if it's just to confirm that the smell is as bad as we can deducted it. A very sour balsamic with a lot of synthetic woody notes scratching your nose. Gosh...and the performance is weak, for this price....wtf you could buy Portrait of a Lady by F.Malle.

The most metallic, scratchy DHM rose on the market. Completely unoriginal with an insulting price tag. Much like the rest of the line. No wonder they are dashing off the shelves at Printemps with expediency.

You can call any old shite "oud" these days. Aside from the z-grade oud accord, the rest of the notes smell cheap and are instantly forgotten.

As cynical as the review below is... He has a point. As cynical as the review below that is... They have a point too. A marginal defence of this brand, they are overtly, telling and selling us a concept. A strong one I think, which shines a spotlight on perfumery practices in a very knowing and post modern way. The pop art, primary colours and slick packaging, Flacons etc...reflects this. And they're not extortionately expensive (are they?) However, I get the scepticism and I imagine they will end up in TK MAXX soon. Especially where the oud content of this particular one is concerned. Saving graces are that it doesn't have 'Oud' in the name and it's using a legit Indian Oud material (if a tiny amount) also, this fragrance really isn't intentionally an oud but obviously the perfumer felt it brought something to the formula? (I'm grasping here, because I don't know?) Anyway the other thing that's good about Sexcrush is that it's a nice perfume, giving a very balmy, resinous effect of amber, entombed in a vaguely medicinal 'bandage' note a bit like myrrh I suppose? and the obligatory rose accord. (Could be the oud?) feels a bit powdery, drying down the rose stays bright but feels much more about bass tones than top fluff or heart dominance. A modern amber I'd say. I liked it.

Fake musk 230 Fake vanilla 200 Woody accord 150 Iso E Super 100 Fake rose 77.9 ... Rose absolute 1.0 Indian oud 0.1 This is probably how 95% of the "oud" fragrances are made...How much are they charging again?

Smell very similar to Xerjoff Soprano but Xerjoff is way longer lasting and has slightly more lactonic and leathery smell while Sexycrush is sharper on the citrus note. I like Soprano better, more complex.
