Fifty Four

I agree wholeheartedly with PeterD83's comments. I received 54 in the mail from Harrods. I opened the box, sprayed about 8 sprays on my neck, chest, wrists and antecubital fossae and proceeded to watch the Presidential Debate, which turned out to be a great way to experience the fragrance for the first time as I sat still for several hours, repeatedly sniffing my arm. This is a scent which starts out with a strong boozy note. Peter called it a "very stiff pina colada'. I would second that and go so far as to say on me it smells like chugging straight rum from a Stanley cup and dribbling some all over your shirt and chest. The boozy note is pleasant but strong, and it dominated what I smelled for about the first 20 minutes. At that point, a beautiful and smooth blend of notes and accords of patchouli, cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom, chocolate, tobacco and sandalwood are experienced. The patchouli is the lead singer. The patchouli is slightly earthy but not excessively so, and the earthiness is wrapped in multiple layers of vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate (patchouli) and sandalwood that in the end produce almost a milky, lactonic accord ... maybe even better described as a hot chocolate milk accord. Unlike many fragrances, especially designer, which can lure you in with a great opening and nothing of substance afterward, to me Fifty Four gets better and better from the opening to the mid to the dry down. As I type this, I have had it on my skin for about four hours, and it smells fantastic. It is warm, rich and comforting. I would give the opening a 6, the mid a 7.5 and the dry down an 8.5 out of 10. I would give it an overall Fragrantica score of about 4.15. Projection is excellent. Longevity (at least through these first four hours) seems excellent and judging by how it is doing right now, it is still projecting and not even close to being a skin scent at four hours. I agree with PeterD83 that it is probably not blind buy safe unless you already know that you are very comfortable with the smells of rum and patchouli. I am certainly comfortable with it ... 54 will be a fall and winter staple for me, both for nights out and cozy family events in. Follow-up November 2024: I'm enjoying this fragrance. I wanted to mention that I have taken to layering 54 with an uber gourmand, Jousset's "Le Gourmand", which smells like Nutella and hazelnut chocolate. This works very well with 54. It mutes the strong boozy accord in 54 a bit and amplifies the patchouli's chocolate accord ... an amazing, complex combination if you are a gourmand lover.

Cypriol again?! Imagine that. Lol. I have subconsciously chosen fragrances that had the note in some form or another every single day for about eight days. I have no idea why. Even when I researched the note specifically, there was nothing that particularly connected with me. At this point, I'm just going to assume it is a note I connect with and find appealing in almost every fragrance I come across. 54, from the very first time I smelled it, is directly associated with a couple of things. First and foremost, it is summer. Not the beginning of summer or the end of summer, right in the middle. After the Fourth of July, but before back to school. I'm being specific here because around that time the sun on the West Coast is very unique. The sun doesn't officially set until around 9:20 PM. For about an hour, it is truly beautiful. It is quintessential California Sunset. Warm but not too warm. Not too light or too dark. And if this environment had a smell in my mind, it would be this gently spiced pineapple and coconut milk jam that has been on the stove, brewing for hours and hours. Comforting, but will always be refreshing. Yet this fragrance is still what it is. And that is a party! And that is second. This is piña colada and it is the dance floor. There is no getting around it. But it is done in a very classy way. This doesn't smell like a trashy club you don't want to remember the next day. This fragrance is one of those guys you can't stop thinking about. That is what I like most about this. Yes it is fruity and fun, but at the center of it all, it is sexy. Deep, dark and sexy. You have everything that is considered sexy. Chocolate, vanilla, patchouli, rum, tobacco, cinnamon etc. Intentionally this was done and it was done very effectively! Sebastian was a great creative director because he had a very clear vision in regards to what he wanted. That is all most designers ask for, but is unfortunately very difficult to find. Patchouli is front and center in this fragrance composition as well. More on the chocolate side rather than the aromatic or green side of the plant. If patchouli is not your favorite, I don't recommend purchasing without trying it first. Even if you prefer and enjoy piña colada fragrances, this is not safe because of how strong the patchouli is here. But it is still sweet. If you are into that style of fragrance then I highly recommend this. It is great for going out and having a good time. Those are the memories you are going to create when you have this on.

Confession time: I'm almost never a fan of chocolate fragrances, but I have followed the collaborator (on YT) on this perfume for many years and trust that he is at least honest about his opinions. Therefore, when he said the chocolate note was subtle, I believed it. Tldr: the chocolate note definitely is subtle, and adds depth and complexity without making it smell like I'm standing in a historic chocolate shop with a mold problem due to improper ventilation while trying to avoid conversation with its alcoholic proprietor. This is spicy cocoa when first sprayed, but as it dries down the spiciness overwhelms any chocolatey note and the wet patchouli comes forward in a big way. At the point of dry down, the fragrance takes on and almost medicinal quality, but not super strong or fruity like cough syrup. As it matures on me, the booziness comes out more prominently and I get the sweeter notes of pina colada, davana, and vanilla. Oddly enough, this is saved being a completely warm, spicy gourmand by an aspect of freshness, probably mostly because of the green and herbal nature of tobacco and sandalwood. As time passes, the various notes integrate and somehow become more cohesive on me. I really enjoy where it ends up, as if I'm enjoying a hot toddy while camping in a damp, deciduous forest. On me, this has significant lasting and projection. It's not a beast, but it will certainly last the day. This is a highly unique scent, IMO, making people either bottle buy or hard pass I can't say I've sampled anything exactly like it. People who enjoy damp green wood crossed with warm boozy spices would enjoy this. Otherwise, I'd say sample or get a decant first.

I received my order from Harrods today, delivered to California, USA. Here is my honest and impartial review: **Packaging:** The presentation is exquisite and thoughtfully designed, exuding a modern aesthetic with a Disco-inspired theme. However, one minor drawback is that the sleeve was excessively tight around the box, making it difficult to remove. From a design perspective, I would suggest incorporating a bit more padding to ensure a smoother, more refined unboxing experience, as these details significantly enhance the overall luxury feel. **The Fragrance:** Upon first application, the notes of Patchouli, Cinnamon, and Vanilla immediately stand out, accompanied by subtle gourmand hints of Chocolate and Tobacco that add a delightful softness to the composition. I particularly appreciate that the Patchouli is clean and sweet, devoid of any earthy or overpowering tones, which beautifully complements the gourmand elements. In summary, this fragrance is a commendable creation—universally appealing, safe for blind buying, and truly unisex. It’s particularly well-suited for the fall and cooler weather or for evening wear. The scent profile closely resembles that of Mugler’s *Angel*, though much softer and smoother, with similarities to Xerjoff’s *Naxos*. **Longevity:** The longevity is impressive. Upon application, a slight sheen of oil was visible on my skin, and now, six hours later, a soft Vanilla note with a trace of Cinnamon still lingers.

I wore this for the first time at ScentXplore and got to meet Sébastien the creative director for this gem, very down to earth friendly gentleman. At first I was worried the Patchouli would take over the scent, which it does take center stage however it's so much more. The Patchouli is a bit hippie but going in the boozy chocolate direction aided by the chocolate note. Accompanying them is a creamy sweet Pina Colada note and rum for added booze. Also the pinapple from the mixed drink comes through just enough. Now I may be bias but I think this is one of the best releases of 2024 and definitely the best from Jusbox. During the interview with Sébastien and Jusbox they talked about trying to incorporate a cocaine note however after 100+ mods they were unable to agree on anything. Well what they chose was this beautiful fragrance. It's a feel good scent that's playful yet sophisticated. Nothing is overdone, it's blended to perfection IMHO. It will forever transport me to a great memories I had at the event and to me that is exactly what fragrance is all about. I highly suggest sampling this one at the very least, but if you enjoy boozy fragrance and gourmand then this should hit the spot and I'd say it's a safe blind buy. Edit: It's not listed as of right now on Fragrantica but I just sprayed on Roberto Cavalli Sublime Tonka and it immediately reminded me of this. The nuances are missing of course but the core is definitely there.

Everything I am about to say about 54 has nothing to do with the scent itself. According to my notes, I have written something about this before. I'm sure I have, but there's something else I want to bring up that I'm sure I did not mention previously. It bothers me that this fragrance is $325 for 78 mL. I understand why they did it, or the concept behind why. 70 revolutions turned into 78 revolutions by 1920s. That became the standard. 78 revolutions, 78 mL. OK fine. But why $325? I would assume the price would be reduced by the 22 mL that has been removed. But it has not. I find this frustrating. Studio 54 was a place, not a style of music. Yes they had the music playing, mostly disco. It would make more sense to me if they called the fragrance “disco at 54”. That way you could connect the 78 revolutions in a more coherent way. But this fragrance is all about a place, not necessarily music itself. It feels to me they are forcing this concept without fluctuation to size or price. That's it. I discussed the fragrance itself and it's very good. But that's a separate issue I've already talked about in a previous post. I would love a response from someone about what I just posted above.

This was a blind buy based on my appreciation for the company, the perfumer, and most of all, the inspiration and expertise of Sebastian Jara, The Perfume Guy. Based on his recommendations and my previous purchases, I was confident that I would love this fragrance, and I do. It is simply beautiful. The opening is aromatic, spicy and warm. It lasts hours on me with minimal application and dries down slowly, evolving into a delicious gourmand, sweet without being cloying. For me, this is an all year long, every day scent to be worn for any occasion. It is like a high quality blazer, an investment that proves to be sound and worthwhile. But, it is also unique and exciting. I have a substantial perfume library and can honestly say, Fifty Four is like nothing else, sure to be popular and become a classic. I am thrilled that I now have it in my collection.

I have bought a tiny sample. It is really good! Reminds me a bit of Vanilla Royale Sugared Patchouli by Kayali, but the boozy, tropical fruity piña colada note makes it creamier and more unique. I think it is not a groundbreaking fragrance, but it is definitely an original and interesting interpretation of the patchouli-vanilla genere. It is not moldy or too earthy as patchouli can sometimes be, and it is not skanky either. The patchouli here is at its best, chocolatey and creamy, but not gourmand exactly. Longevity and projection are stellar (my test strip still smells lovely after two days), but it does not smell artificial at all. I would definitely like to have it, but it is really expensive, honestly, and I have so many fragrances already... It would be very nice if they would release it in smaller sizes or in travel spray format.

Cant understand why this gets so much hate, its amazing! Tried it at a department store, surprised it was even there in the first place, and omg it was love at first sniff. Boozy, sweet, slightly gourmand, Perfect date night scent. Seriously one of the best sweet boozy openings ive ever smelled, i like this even better than angels share. My only complaint would be the price, here in mexico you can only get it for 350 usd, which is crazy but who am i fooling? im def gonna get a full bottle once fall hits. Everything about it is beautiful and high quality. in my personal experience, i get 8 hours out of this, decent projection, not as bad as some people say, performance is far from being bad. JUlian rasquinet is my favourite perfumer, I respect sebastian but im not a die hard fan of his, but my goodness this fragrance is incredible.

Okay so shall I leave a review as someone who actually tried it? It starts off as a very stiff pina colada you would have in a bar where they are *very* generous with the rum. Once you down this strong drink, the real party starts. It settles down into a beautiful patchouli and cinnamon bomb with creamy sandalwood and light facets of vanilla and milk chocolate. On my skin, it's mostly cinnamon and patchouli, with well over 8 hours of longevity and good projection. I don't think it's a safe blind buy, it has its own personality and vibe that may not agree with everyone's taste but it's a very attractive and addictive scent. 8.5/10 - in (studio) Fifty Four, the party never stops 💃

I get piña colada after a few minutes, but I’m blasted by pineapple straight away. Very patchouli focused, and this is the most mass appealing patchouli-prominent scent I’ve come across. Smooth and perfectly balanced. The patch itself is a close match to Angel. On the whole, this fragrance brings two of my Top 20 Faves to mind: Mugler Angel Stellar and Xerjoff Naxos. Smells like a perfect blend of the two. Spicy, sweet, and boozy. Resinous, camphorous, and creamy. Sumptuous, robust, warm, and alluring. I can smell every note. I’m huffing away with abandon and I can’t stop. Thoroughly transfixed and addicted. MASTERPIECE

This is a follow up comment. I wrote one of the first reviews when it was initially released at Harrods. Giving the bottle a few months to rest and breathe, it has just gotten better. I liked the fragrance when I first got it. Now I love it. I can't stop smelling my arm. The boozy note was dominant and overpowering when I first got it. Now it blends in perfectly with the rest of the fragrance. It is so rich, strong, thick and unique ... I love it. I highly recommend it. If you get a sample or a bottle and it is good but not great, remember me saying it will become great. 😊 9.5/10

Spent several days in Paris and Porto in February testing, smelling, enjoying hundreds to thousands of perfumes at Jovoy, Nose, Printemps, Galleries La Fayette, Embassy, as well as many boutiques, and I have to say this was easily in the top five best smelled. The masterpiece made here by Julien Rasquiniet and Sebastian Jara knocked it out of the park. I left Printemps without it, and I've been thinking about it ever since. My mistake was to not bring it home. It is a must buy for me, and I can't wait to purchase it. 10/10

Beautiful. Going off a sample spray. Mainly lots of patchouli, a bit earthy but still smooth, not stank or medicinal. Spicy but not sharp or overbearing , very sweet and creamy from the vanilla and the piñacolada gives it a bit of fruity brightness w creaminess. I barely get any rum just a touch , same with the tobacco. I live in Florida, so for this price it would be hefty to buy when I would wear this a few times a year. Ugh , I have to hold off for now. I would love a big decant of this

It’s just after 4pm & I put this on at 8am. And it’s still here. Not that I am tired of this, I am just used to layering a 2nd fragrance around this time because most of my fragrances only last 4-6 hrs. I just ordered a full bottle of this after 2 hrs of being enveloped in this sweet, slightly boozy, comforting, completely unisex scent. It’s reminiscent of GRAND SOIR but it has booze (not enough in my opinion-lol). Also, I do not smell pina colada at all. I smell everything else.

What a sexy patchouli bombshell! I picked up a sample first and getting wafts if it during the day couldn’t get over myself. Full bottle ordered the same day. I was a little concerned that the coconut and pineapple would be too sweet but it’s not, rather it serves to temper down the patchouli. The different notes are apparent randomly during the wear and longevity and sillage are fantastic. I have nothing else like it. This is a year round fragrance for me. Highly recommend!

A very solid release, true to its notes but really well blended, with fine transitions. It is indeed spicy, woody and has lots of patchouli and gets creamier and more chocolatey towards the drydown. I love how you can also smell a thread of smokey tobacco and some booziness, which also make it lean more masculine. It has very good performance, both in projection and longevity. In the far drydown it almost becomes salty on the skin, probably due to the saffron.

INSTANT LOVE!!!!! So glad I have a travel size. I will absolutely have to upgrade. As a Sober fella, the booze is almost scary realistic, however the patchouli and sandalwood save the day and smooth everything out. I’m quite honestly obsessed, was after a first sniff! 9/10 1/20/26 - My full bottle arrives today! It haunted me for the last few months. Simply had to pull the trigger. Can’t wait to get a full, dousing and wear finally!

I currently have a sample and I am in love! Very warm, booze heavy, heady shop patchouli smelling. The person I received a sample from double checked that I liked patchouli because it is strong. However, the woody components, the gourmands, and even the teeniest bit of citrus from the piña colada keep it reigned in. Will be buying the large version ASAP.

I just received this gem from a dear dear friend, and oh boy, this is patchouli all the way, green and chocolaty patchouli at a time, boozy, cinnamon-y, deep and rich fragrance, I can see the touches of Sebastian in it in addition to the craftsmanship of Julien Rasquinet, this a real gem , amazingly crafted. edit: the dry down is when the magic starts.

I went to Sebastian’s Harrods event & I got chance to sample the 54 fragrance and in simple terms, it is absolutely divine. I purchased a bottle immediately, and if you are a patchouli gourmand lover, this is a creamy very sexy seductive and addictive fragrance 10/10

This is a banger! You really need to like patchouli though to like this one. Patchouli, coconut, chocolate, tobacco and rum are the main players here. Smells lovely upclose but magnificent in the air. The wafts of this will definitely garner compliments!

It’s really nice! All my favorite boozy/spicy/woody notes are here in the on scent! I can definitely feel lots of tobacco here as well, but it definitely soaked in some nice sweet liquor together with a cinnamon bark. Absolutely delicious!

Am I the only one that thinks this smells like tea? I'm not a fan of the opening but I like the dry down, it reminds me of Van Py Rhum from Lorenzo Pazzaglia. It’s a bit too blended, I wish some of the individual notes stuck out more.

Delicious fragrance that to me has an intense rum note that I find particularly intoxicating. Has cakey, creamy, sweetness, but also a layer of warm spiciness that makes it smell mature and different from your average vanilla bomb.

After testing the sample immediately decided to buy a full bottle. It is kind of unc combination of notes, can not compare it with any of the tested perfumes. It is currently in my top 2 (with Clive Christian Hedonistic).

I usually dislike patchouli, but this fragrance is so well blended and so unique! Starts with a feeling of cocktail, then settles down to a fantastic combination of chocolate,patchouli and rum, I really love it

My bottle arrived from Harrod's today. Gorgeous top notes of a soft Cinnamon with an undercurrent of fine tobacco. The bottom notes definitely give the head-shop vibe of Initio's Psychedelic Love.

So delicious it made my mouth water. Boozy gourmand with a great piña colada note. Little too bombastic for me, but it's a great scent. Surprised this was a collab with a Youtuber.

I haven't smelled this but Sebastian knows good so I'll be purchasing. I'm a big Sebastian fan!! He's smart, handsome and is entertaining. Lol!!!

Does anyone have an update on its Harrods launch? I heard Sunday, then Monday, then Tuesday and now it is Friday.

I think this has been my most successful blind buy ever

What an interesting fragrance. It is a little challenging to wear because it demands your attention. This is not your average fire and forget designer fragrance. Cinnamon, spices, saffron, pina colada, chocolate, rum, vanilla. They are all there. But the note that dominates is ever changing. Very good stuff. I would be curious to try different formulations with the coconut dialed back a bit, toned down cinnamon and spices but with a boost to the patchouli because every once in a while I feel like I am smelling a little but too much like a Yankee candle. Fear not. Give it a minute and one of the other notes will come to the fore. The only complaint I have, and it is a real one, is I ordered a sample from ZGO. It is a Maison branded and bottled sample and the sprayer is atrocious. I have received these types of sprayers before, ministry of scent I am looking at you. The juice is spit out at you in a tiny feeble stream so there is no way to tell how much you are getting. it is not applied in a fashion to which we are accustomed. SMH A month or so in as much as I want to love this i just can’t. The opening does it for me. The coconut and pineapple just don’t belong. They don’t clash. In fact all the notes play really well together. But there is something about the combination that doesn’t work for me and unfortunately I am unable to articulate it because this is so nice. In the end I think this could be two separate fragrances. Because, coconut and pineapple? Hell yes, sign me up. Patchouli, tobacco, spice? Put it in the bag. Patchouli, tobacco, spice, coconut, pineapple ok, let’s try toning down the last two. Let’s have some flankers if you please Sebastian. The tobacco note in this is outstanding. Another thing to consider is price. This is an individual decision of course. I have noticed that price has no bearing on my enjoyment of a fragrance. I have expensive stuff that is fantastic and that is just not good IMO. Same for the other end of the spectrum. Two of my favorites and best performers are around 20 bucks shipped to your door and the rest run from $100 to $275.00 at the discounters. I have yet to spend more on full bottles and at this point figure that if one does it, it is to signal one’s economic status not that the juice is better. I say this because I have tried samples from all of the big name designers and some are nice but not worth the spend, LV I am looking at you, while others inspire out right derision and ridicule from me regarding smell, performance and price, Chanel I am looking at you. At least we can look forward to Dior decreasing the sizes of the bottles in their Privee collection by 20% and a possible price increase. 🤣

Ordered an Azman fragrance from Lucky Scent, and got a Studio Fifty-Four dabber sample. (I'll write about "Two Minutes After the Kiss" from Azman, which I loved, at another time.) As soon as I "Dabbed" it on my skin, it reminded me of Tobacco Vanille. Yes, the Piña Colada hits you in the face at the opening. Then all the spices, specially the vanilla comes forward, and the "Tropical Drink" stays on the background, but leaves a trail of annoying sweetness behind. (Remember, this is a dabber. There is nothing like atomizing a fragrance.) The vanilla that I'm talking about reminds me of one of the many used in Van Py Rhum, and the one used in Tobacco Vanille. That with the spices, and the Piña Colada accord still lingering, is extremely sweet on my skin. I do get the tobacco, but it is well-blended with the vanilla, just like Tobacco Vanille (Again). When it comes to the patchouly, it struggles to come up afloat from all the glow-ness from the sweetness. But it does, somewhere at the end of the mid, to establish territory at the dry-down; but still struggling to survive among all the annoying sweetness from the Piña Colada, the vanilla, and some of the spices, like the cardamom and cinnamon. This fragrance will do great in a nightclub on a winter night. Maybe an outdoor bar on a late-fall night. There is something about it, also, that reminds me of Jazz Club, slightly; which I like, but not love. Nevertheless, I will not be buying this fragrance. On a special note: It is a strong fragrance. Just with a dabb, it lasts and lasts. Project, well, also. Unisex.

Tiny bit disappointed because I hoped for first and foremost rum pina colada, and then patchouli with spices sprinkled in - that’s not it. It’s more than one type patchouli, and then some spices sprinkled in. I wouldn’t have found the pina colada had I not been looking for it because of the notes. The parchoulis combined are, in my opinion, 70% the Seminalis patchouli, 20% Mugler patchouli, and 10% chocolate gourmand patchouli. Some retro patchouli funk, but not overdone, not stale or musty at all. That patchouli amalgamate is like, 75% of what you can sense. There’s also a tobacco accord (that tonka+patchouli retro type of, not the sweetish modern Smoking Hots), some spices (nutmeg, cinnamon etc), slight fruitiness - like plum jam. My wife immediately said plum jam gingerbread. There’s some creaminess you might also know from the Mugler-ish patchoulis, that milky-coconuty one that reminds me a bit of Fan your Flames with that tobacco accord, too. Disappoiunted because that’s not what I expected, not because of the quality. Lasting, but not thick or powerful in pushing.

This is quite powerful in terms of both sillage and versatility, and has been receiving quite a lot of attention as a result. Its opening is enormous and smells just like a pina colada on top (with intense pineapple and coconut) and something darker underneath (mostly chocolate and rum); as it dries down, it becomes less artificial, and more like any number of nice fruity fragrances (like Citizen Jack Parfum, or Erba Pura in their drydowns). This isn't bad, but this would not be my first choice if I wanted a fruity gourmand, and it does smell very artificial when it opens. Also, despite its booziness, the pina colada accord does not remind me (nor anyone, I would hope) of Studio 54, the apparent 1970s namesake of this fragrance.

Was curious about this one due to who contributed for it, and with people voting on similarities with Black Phantom and Van Py Rum, but I didn't detect much similarity at all. Sure, all are boozy fragrances, with some patchouli, but 54 goes in a very different direction. To my nose, the patchouli + pineapple from the pinacolada are the two main highlights, with some spiciness coming up in the drydown. It is slightly gourmand and slightly fresh Definitely not as gourmandc nor delicious, nor as "dark sweet" as the other two. It's an interesting combination, hard to dislike, but it also was not as good as I was expecting.

I like this. Not love. This is patchouli, coconut and pineapple dominant. Cinnamon and tobacco comes in later. I just don't get the Studio 54 reference. This is nice so this is more like a brunch date than a drunken, coked up, orgy wild Studio 54 night. This projects and last all day. This is a patchouli that could be worn year round because of how much the pina colada stands out. I would expect a Studio 54 fragrance to have a cocaine, vodka, marijuana, musk, leather, linoleum, gasoline, type notes. I like this a lot but the fragrance doesn't fit the name.

This is one of those fragrances you are going to have to try yourself. It changes so much with each wear. Sometimes it is tropical forward, today it is honey and tobacco with a little patchouli. I suppose in the end I have come to think of this as a playful scent. It is ever evolving which makes things interesting. I will also say that after sitting on the shelf for a bit the boarders between notes have become more blended. I am smelling more notes together than I used to. Before it was one following the other like employees lining up at the time clock.

Very nice, pleasant way to wear sweet patchouli scent. Opens with a nice bit of spice and a boozy sweetness that I honestly would never assume was supposed to be listed, it’s a little synthetic but very nice smelling to me and I can’t quite think of anything exactly like it. After abt 4-5 hours mostly the patch remains, to me this is one of the best in the brand but still lacks something from being a love, can’t stress that it is sweet and pleasant, not “dirty” in the slightest

To me, and please don’t come after me, this smells 95% similar to Tabac Rose by BDK. Tabac Rose and Fifty Four are both creations of the talented Julien Rasquinet. Now, of course, there are slight differences between the two fragrances but the earthy patchouli and the sweetness within both gives identical twins vibe 😅 I own (and love) Tabac Rose so I will pass on purchasing Fifty Four. However, this is definitely worth a try, it’s a beautiful fragrance!!

It is good , a little different than other fragrances , if I could compare with something I say Naxos would be something a little similar , being a non smoker I feel way too much tobacco for my taste, definetly masculine not unisex , but for sure will draw attention when wear it.

Still waiting for a release date here in Australia, why is it taking so long?

I tried this in store on a test strip and on my wrist. On the test strip I immediately smelled pineapple, but it went away very quickly. So I definitely wouldn’t call this fragrance fruity at all. Soon afterwards, I could smell chocolate and the creaminess. It definitely leans very gourmand-y. On my skin, the most prominent aspect to me is the booziness. The rum is what I smelled most upon initial spray and after 4+ hours the booziness is still what I smell most. It reminds me of Angel’s Share by Killian (for transparency: I never tested that fragrance in depth, but I have tried it in store). I have to be honest that I don’t love it. It’s too boozy for my taste on my skin. That being said, my partner loved it. He was with me at the store and I’ve been asking him to smell it throughout the day. I’ve been testing out a lot of fragrances lately and he said this one is his favorite so far. He also said he’s “in love” and is seriously considering buying a bottle for himself now despite actually not wearing perfume normally 😂 (Price: 250 Euros in Germany, I tested it at Ludwig Beck in Munich). EDIT: We actually ordered it for him. I would summarize this as a boozy gourmand on my skin. It can definitely be worn by all genders IMO. Performance seems to be strong after 4+ hours but can’t say too much about further longevity and projection since I didn’t wear it long enough.

Another sad day I was so excited about this perfume and was expecting it to be my number one patchouly perfume but unfortunately, it turned to be another sweet patchouli never worth the price they are asking for Sorry, Sebastian, the perfume guy, i have almost all ur top 10 recommendations, but IM not sure i will get this one unless its like half or third of current price Psychedelic and aljazeera patchouli still the best patcho for me

Aw man, when I read the notes of Fifty Four I was really excited to try it, but all I can really smell is patchouli and sandalwood. No pina colada, cardamom, chocolate or cinnamon. Bummer. As far as patchoulis go, it’s okay, but it’s not the fruity-boozy-edible-incense disco good time I was hoping for.

I was truly excited to try this fragrance because I quite enjoy The Fragrance Guy's work and I consider Julian Rasquinet my favourite perfumer. However, this perfume turned out to be not at all my taste. I'd actually say I disliked it very much. I understad the inspiration, and I acknowledge it does evokes being at a Disco among cocktails, smoke and strong incensy/patchouli perfumes. The combination of scents just turns out really unattractive to my nose. It begins super sweet and boozy, and the develops into a sticky sweet, incensy, smoky unattractive scent that very much evokes sex in an unappealing way. I believe that artistic expression took over the purpose of making an actually wearable scent. I could see trying a sample and enjoying the ride, but not buying a full bottle. It could work only if you truly want something super flashy, sweet, boozy and hippie (iesh) and very sexula in a kind of seventiesh way.
