Golden Serenade

I am completely entranced and smitten with this beautiful fragrance! The clove and amber are the notes my skin pull the most and the way they dance together is so stunning! I got a sample set from this house and I appreciated many of the fragrances but this is the one that captured my heart. I am not always a fan of patchouli on me as my skin tends to amp the note up and drown out any other notes. In this fragrance the patchouli is done just right and adds to the mystic this fragrance conveys! I believe this fragrance is perfectly unisex and as a woman, the scent makes me feel dark, mysterious and powerful. This fragrance and House deserves so much more hype! Music is the biggest part of my family’s life. I live in a loud, chaotic and wonderful home full of musicians! The Jusbox House theme and mission really speak to me, to give music a fragrance and to pay tribute to Musicians who have changed music and culture throughout the years. I really encourage anyone who feels intrigued by this whimsical fragrance house to give them a try! They offer some great sample sets and the quality of these scents are really there!

The initial spray is a burst of not-too-sweet cinnamon candies, then smoky but tame vanilla slides in. In the dry-down, oud in the disguise of dry wood waltzes into the fray, supporting the raucous first act, and lending its stability. I'm not getting patchouli, as it's so expertly blended with the amber and opponax that the incensy resins all become one long, smooth landing. Very spicy. Very fall / wintry. Very cozy. Sophisticated and dressed up enough for a jazz club. Yet also playful and dressed-down enough for pumpkin picking and farmers markets. Definitely a go-to for gloomy days at home with tea, books, and blankets.

This is so good: warm, sexy and addictive. Starts quite spicy and then gradually dries down to a really warm, woody, ambery base. There’s definitely oud but it’s warm and silky - not sharp or overpowering like middle eastern-style oud perfumes. The incense and patchouli give it a dark smoky character but again, it’s balanced so well that they’re not harsh (that being said, I wouldn’t get this if you don’t like patchouli). The amber and vanilla round it out and keep the whole perfume really warm. Good sillage, great for a night out.

Wow 😍one of the best oud perfumes out there. Perfectly blended without any harsh edges. I'm surprised why it got under 4 score here its easily over 4. I'm seeing it in the same class as xerjoffs oud collection. Perfectly blended, oud, Safran, vanilla and incens ! They are amazingly stay together👌 from the beginning to the dry down.at the end the whole blend smells like a real oud. Dammmn this is g👀d! This juice is the real one! You get for what you pay.

Yet more opulent, modern, strangeness from this perfumer. Golden Seranade is somewhat in the mould of Rasquinet's recently notable releases like the Moon or that one for Histoires (I forget the name) and another one I've forgotten the name of...(not doing very well am I? Anywho...They have this unusual, plastic saffron, into smokey, boozy, oud vibes all at the same time. Complex, resinous, woody scents. This one is a little more accessible though and much more on the warmly spiced, boozy side of the street. I thought it was very nice and definitely evocative of the kind of Glenn Miller, smokey, romantic, early 20th Century for whatever reason. I really enjoyed it.

For a scent without any booze in it, Golden Serenade does smells pretty boozy! Opens up very spicy, warm, boozy, incense, oudy. A bit too smoky I might add. Very dark, bitter and on the masculine side. Nothing like I’ve expected judging by the name. I imagined something more like light amber, resins, vanilla. Interesting for sure but not my thing. Too much oud and too much spice!

Interesting, fairly pleasant blend. Amberous, resinous, balasanic essence. Mild oudy mid. Expertly blended. Harmonics are on point. A performer Cloves and saffron make up the over and under tones. Ultimately, a little too spicy in my skin 🌶️ A for effort.

Not what I was expecting, super dark, spicy, and boozy as hell smelling, the saffron and cloves really jump out but the Oud/patchouli just kinda drowns everything else out, kinda reminds me of a worse Tony Iommi Deified, disappointing this had a lot of potential but it just ends up being another one of these “dark” oriental spicy scents usually love these ones, nothing abt it is worth a premium above the rest in the brand

Spicy opening that reminds me of whiskey I can detect patchouli, clove combined with oud and amber The oud here is very alcoholic, almost sour/acidic There is also quite a lot of incense and amber, especially in the base

very heavy on the oud. great scent but it is darker than expected.

A painful reminder of nights where you drank too many shots of Fireball Whiskey. This is quite strong and boozy and sugary cinnamon/clove heavy. My personal bias makes me repulsed but my husband thought this smelled good

So Golden serenade by Jusbox is a strange one. The incense, oud and cloves are front and center and kind of loud. Leans masculine. Okay sillage and longevity.

Oh, I know this is a big night fragrance but today is the day I find out I hate clove and overwhelming, sickly Oud when combined. The best I can say is it has massive project and given the form and price point I would expect that. How these are in Harrods baffles me. With a single exception, the wear of the perfumes has been disappointing and lacking in charm and originality. Perfume pricing has become a real issue and most people of normal means expect something remarkable when paying over £200 these days. I don’t know how they are liaising with their perfumers and good to them if they do well but I don’t get it beyond the most fabulous concept.

I never understood when people said they got "pickles" from certain woody notes. but i experienced it with this. i do enjoy most ambers, but there's some particular amber ingredient/formulation that i'm particularly sensitive to- usually ambrocenide. so this was immediately really sinus puckering, indolic, pissy, and nearly fecal oud for me... after 30 minutes is when it started to turn very vinegary on me, and i swear all i could smell was pickles and mustard. awful. good thing i only have a tiny sample.

I get a whole lot of patchouli, incense, and what I thought was leather and poor quality sandalwood. Turns out it’s my enemy, agarwood! This is a total scrubber! Very stinky smokey agarwood. If that’s what you want to smell like, this is your scent! Just be careful because you may ve try well clear out the entire room.

i don't like oud as is, and this is a pissy-sour- aldehydic oud. very weird. had to wash it off :/

The longer I buy fragrances and watch reviews the longer I realise most people smell a fragrance and make a decision based on either a first time test or they tested it in a store where the smell is compromised by everything around them. My point is I have bought or tested lots of fragrances and thought the same why!!! but my belief is certain fragrances deserve time and golden serenade deserves that time. This is a warm ambery vanilla scent with clove and saffron hanging around in the background. I own 2 jusbox fragrances black powder and 54 and honestly can't say anything negative about these including golden serenade. I like the brand price is on point although golden serenade is more expensive I would still buy it. This is a great fragrance in my opinion just get a tester from a retail store and take it home test it for a few weeks and spend time with it i did and I love it now. I have all the amouage fragrances so I like heavy hitters so this is a welcome change but still has punch !

Glenn Miller and his “Chattanooga Choo Choo”. A song that talks about a state of mind, that of returning home from the war to your love. An initially dark fragrance, almost mystical, as if to communicate that indefinite state of mind halfway between happiness and not knowing. Not knowing what awaits us, full of hope. Saffron, incense and patchouli dominate it, making it very structured and in my opinion wintery. Beautiful and thoughtful.

Gourmand wood oud, not really arabic style as some have mentioned more of a rich oozy boozy ambery resinous wood. Reminds me of Ambre 35 Barry M there's a waxy candle quality to it. Oud is not stinky or skanky, just deep woodsy.

I can olny smell birch tar, vanilla and some resins, patchouli and probably bensoin. It’s loud in the first few minutes but changing quickly to something similar to By The Fireplace. IMO no real oud. Linear too.
