Micro Love

“Calone bomb” - Sarah McCartney This does smell like a typical 2016 designer cologne... BUT! This is the best interpretation of the ‘Invictus molecule’ (calone/ambroxan/something else?) that I’ve tried. I find most designer versions (Invictus Aqua, Legend Spirit, Azzaro Wanted, etc.) irritating/cloying, thus completely unwearable. I get good projection for 3 hours and it’s noticeable for 2 more. Although this is an excellent scent with good performance, £130 for 78ml of a scent like this is a joke. Guess I’ll just cross my fingers for a better unoriginal designer interpretation in the coming years. EDIT: Found it. I Am Dance by Roads

In my subjective opinion: This is hugely misunderstood and labeling this as any generic male slop is a simplification. This is an aquatic, airy, sweet and optimistic perfume of the highest quality and good balance, and manages to create exactly the kind of carefree joy one could experience in a concert or music festival: living in the moment, feeling the music inside and out, and falling in something that seems like a small, micro if you will, dose of love. This is to 90’s male designer aquatics what TF Neroli Portofino is to any of the countless Spanish or Italian drugstore citrus-neroli colonias. It is up to the wearer to smell and feel the difference of those in terms of quality, wearing experience and extraolfactory features (brand, feeling, storytelling etc.). If there is none to be found, consider yourself lucky; the 10€ colonia is then enough. And “enough” is something the luxury world wishes we will never have, as that would keep us from raising the bar to feel contentment with each new purchase.

I know pepper isn't listed but to me it smells like a spicy very peppery twist on a early 2000s freshie. It reminds me slightly of Envy for men by Gucci but much more warm and almost savory rather than sweet. I'll definitely enjoy using the smaller 7.8ml bottle but I can't justify spending that amount for the full bottle on this fragrance. It would have been groundbreaking maybe 25 years ago but I dare say it is a little generic today. Pleasant, just not worth £170 in my opinion. As much as I do really love this brand and seem to find myself collecting their every fragrance, they are ridiculously overpriced. I scoffed at the musical inspiration to begin with but do find myself being pulled in by it somewhat. To me this is the least reminiscent of it's inspiration compared to their other fragrances which you understand what they were inspired by and how the fragrances reflected the inspiration. For me this doesn't invoke or remind me of the early 90s, U2, or any type of concert.

If Micro from the name stands for how boring and wimpy Micro Love is, then I get... The scent doesn’t smell bad, but it’s a very basic, typical cologne, leaning masculine; a scent made to wear for spring and summer, with powdery, floral, sweet, soft spicy nuances built around a strong ozonic DNA. I don’t dislike Micro Love as a woman, because has a quite accentuated fruity sweetness which I always like in fragrances, but it’s one of the few from the entire discovery set that I wouldn’t personally consider buying. It’s just too boring, too light and too expensive for my liking. Out of the shower, subdued and ethereal, clean girl aesthetic vibes...Not my vibe! In all fairness, ozonic, airy, violet forward fragrances are not what I like in perfumery, so I might be biased against Micro Love with this review... As always, try before purchasing, especially an expensive fragrance, we all like different things when it comes to perfumes!

Very very ozonic fresh with a sweet bit of apple and sage that reminds me a bit of like a CC Rock Rose before the cedar note predominantly takes over, for some reason the cedar note smells very very fresh and not just like pencil shavings almost like sandalwood, the scent overall feels a bit basic af but it really isn’t bad or nothing I think it’s a bit overhated for that it is, I do think tho that apple overall is just kind of a cheap smelling note most of the time

A nice airy fragrance with a fruity undertone. Wearable, but as time goes by this becomes a strong car air freshener type of scent. Unlike with other Jusbox scents, I can definitely see the inspiration (not that I like U2, but the fragrance complements the playlist nicely). But this is something very personal - the inspiration for the designer will not always match the feeling the fragrance evokes in the user.

Very pleasant, masculine scent. Fresh slightly aquatic slightly spicy, but not in a way that it itches your nose, a little bit sweet from the cinnamon and the apple. It’s a very lovely fresh and clean fragrance for a man that will be inoffensive and can be worn all year, but especially in the high heat.

It’s an alright smell, but it’s also like the most generic men’s ozonic/fresh cologne DNA of all time. Smells like every cheap aftershave and body spray targeted at 20-something young men who are just beginning to have a conception that maybe they shouldn’t stink.

I purposely avoided re-reading any research I did of all the fragrance samples I picked out online so I could more accurately give a first unbiased impression, and the first thing that came to mind when I sprayed this was, “this smells really familiar. Like something in my childhood”. I realized immediately that it smelled like one of my old Cabbage Patch or Barbie perfumes, although I’m not sure which one. Now that it had been on for a while, it still smelled familiar, but different, and I couldn’t place what it was morphing into. I just knew I wasn’t really a fan. Then I came here to cheat and find out what others were saying, and I realized it: I smell like late 90s douchebag. Every Abercrombie wearing dude bro smelled exactly like this. I wasn’t a fan of most of these types of colognes back then, and even then, I didn’t like how “traditionally” feminine these leaned (I say traditionally in quote marks because fragrance should be worn however one sees fit whether it is labeled feminine or masculine). These frags were very potent—or these dudes bathed in it, which is entirely possible—and they clung to everything with ferocity. If you went clubbing, you came home smelling of some version of this, even if you didn’t dance with anyone. Also, I remember that era in music and fragrance very well because it was my “coming of age” time where I discovered more about myself and where I had my first real heartbreaks, and most guys that wore something like this weren’t listening to U2. More like top 40 hip hop and stuff like Smashmouth. None of this is really a review I suppose, unless you were a late teen in the late 90s, and then you know without smelling this fragrance exactly what its scent evokes. Therefore I will say that this is very sweet with a tang of sorts to it, it is aquatic leaning, and lesser versions of this would be completely overpowering and awful. This calms down nicely after about an hour, sillage is impressive, and if you’re someone who can’t wear woodsy/spicy stuff, this might work for you. To me it smells EXACTLY like the original Abercrombie and Fitch cologne, if that is at all helpful. Definitely easier to get a hold of this one than the old A&F, but I wouldn’t pay this price for that scent. I will not be wearing this ever again, but I took a definite stroll down memory lane for a while.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, along comes this abomination. This brand makes some terrible decisions (with branding) and bad decisions when blending (I’ve tested five and they are all sub par). Micro is like Davidoff Cool Water cranked to 11. Someone needs to get their nose checked.

On its own, it leans very masculine — almost like a crisp men’s aftershave with ozonic freshness, suede, and cedar standing out the most. It doesn’t evolve much, which makes it a bit flat solo. Longevity and sillage were okay but not remarkable.

Excellent profile. Dastardly scent. It’s aquatic and ozonic, like a laundry pod floating in air freshener mist.

There are a few solid fragrances in this house, and at least one gem (Use Abuse is a great, deliberately synthetic-smelling floral), but overall, Jusbox fails to distinguish itself, and Micro Love is the brand's nadir. The inspiration is music of the 90s, and this somehow translated into a scent inspired by U2. Nothing against U2 I guess, but they aren't exactly the most representative or interesting band of that decade, and this scent almost depressingly follows suit in its failure of expectations. It's supposed to be, I suppose, a disembodied techno-fragrance in the vein of the Molecule scents. Instead, it's some lab-grown ozonic and apple notes with an anonymous mix of other vaguely airy components that finally result in something that can only be described as Generic Aquatic Men's Cologne. There's some woodiness, some amber, capped with a yawn. Micro Love is less than a micro scent; it's less the smell of the future than it is the smell of middle-management tech corporatism. I don’t hate many fragrances, but I think I may hate this.

This fragrance doesn't know what it wants to be. The notes really clash with each other. Cinnamon and leather are out of place here for an aldehyde fresh fragrance with neroli and ambergris. This fragrance is trying to do everything without excelling at anything. Freshie? Gourmand? Light/dark, cool or warm? For as imbalanced as the note stack is, it's actually impressive that this is isn't completely unwearable. The opening isn't bad and it dries down to something that may please the masses who's noses aren't discerning. Performance is pretty good if you like the scent, but you can find something similar and cheaper from Azzaro, PR, or Hugo. An ambitious idea, but a misguided one. Scent 2.5/10 Performance 7/10

On spraying I think, ‘oh this again’. It’s a million zara freshie fragrances for men before even they stepped up their game. I have the emerging and certainly confirmed perception that this brand is form over content. As a music lover (who isn’t?) I was willing myself to find loves in this work but so far nothing has wowed me. Hugely derivative at times. This particular one is aggressive freshie. I regret putting it on even after a shower. Not for me. V v young male in a cliche’d sense.

I got it as a sample. Wish i didn't. the cheapest "masculine" cliché you can have.

Kinda gross combo of cinnamon-clarysage-neroli and suede leather. Personally I hate when hot & spicy scents like, sweet, cinnamon are blended with scents that utterly clash like neroli (which is damp and saccharine yet lightly bitter) and clary sage (arid almost lemony-fresh). So it’s sweet, hot, bitter, spicy, earthy and lightly tart. Too many chefs in the kitchen, that said it’s done all the time in men’s perfume; they often take an “everything but the kitchen sink” approach. Then you’ve got a heavy animalic suede mixed with skanky salty ambergris. Then throw in some violet and ozone... It’s too much. Too sweet, too sharp/acrid, and somehow all those notes together read soapy to me. Like if axe made a body wash called ‘Neroli Sage’. Really strong ambergris. Not getting any apple, just neroli, clary sage, cinnamon, leather. Sharp, saccharine, tart, spicy, and animatic AND soapy. (It’s TOO much!)

The opening is dominated by a duel between the apple and the neroli which the neroli quickly wins but while the two notes do exist they duel beautifully, After about 5 minutes the musk begins to make its voice heard and it with the neroli gives the scent an almost synthetic quality, not in meant in a bad way. When the violet joins the party it adds another dimension to it which I'm not sure is a good thing. It's nice but I have to be honest it smells like a designer which at this price point will put people off. If the apple note lasted longer I would definitely buy a full bottle of this because ultimately that is the bit that made this fragrance interesting

“The most spectacular rock tour in history” is how Q magazine defined it: mega screens, immense stage, incredible lights. U2 abandoned their simple style for this rich and incredible Tour. Micro Love celebrates innovation, a new current that comes to life, through ozonic notes, with apple, violet and cinnamon that give a sense of freshness and airiness. I really liked it, I would really love to wear it in summer, I find it similar to a crystal clear sea.

I really love this! It is fresh and makes me want to take a deep breath, to breathe it in really deep. But there is also a little fruity sweetness (that I now see is the apple) and just a bit of musky/woody base to ground it some. I also pick up on a little something ALMOST lactonic too. This actually reminds me a ton of MFK Amyris Homme EDT, which is my favorite from the brand. Both of these are fantastic freshies (for the gourmand lover)!

Really like this on opening as it reminds me of some of my favorite men’s cologne. But as the ozonic top notes wear off, it settles into the cedar base which I’m rarely a fan of. It’s this salty woody thing, and I hate smelling savory. Also, sniffing up close definitely triggers sneezing.

Juicy apple and violet, almost a minty vibe from the sage. Definitely leans masculine. Clean, playful, charming. I wouldn't wear it but wouldn't be mad if a man wears it, as it is quite pleasant and refreshing.

The initial spray of this was lovely, and that lasted about 30 seconds. Right after that, it was herbally and weird smelling on me, and became a scrubber. Unfortunately, it is a no, thanks.

Wow this is lovely. It’s Avery soft aquatic that just pulses. Whiffs of it everywhere you turn. I get an aquatic accord and slightly fruity but blended perfectly. I really like this

This one is for sure for men. Very much like all majority best sellers from Rabanne, or Pozo red Halloween etc. Fresh, long lasting, masculine.

I totally get the ocean, neroli apple...I do. leans masculine. short lived. A like not love.
