Oud Oak

Very nice perfume. I tested both Oud Wood and Oud Oak and they are quite different in the opening. Oud Wood is much better blended and rounded, and the oud is much more prevalent. Oud Oak has a more medicinal, cheap opening but at the dry down they are literally identical. Sillage is low to mid, basically a skin scent at the 2 hour mark but you can still smell it at times. For the price, literally 1/10 of Oud Wood for double the amount, great everyday beater. Worth it!

Sterling Parfums Just Jack Oud Oak is very much a Middle Eastern woody fragrance. That means it has oud. Just Jack Oud Oak opens with a spicy pepper and cardamom kick. The middle is where things get interesting. You get some oud, you get some vanilla and you get some amber. The base is pretty much sandalwood which as a fan of sandalwood, I'm fine with. Oud Oak's biggest problem IMHO is the performance. It is a very socially acceptable oud fragrance, but it isn't that great for lasting. I find it lasts 6 hours. Which for an oud fragrance is a bit disapointing. Typically oud heavy can last an entire day. Oud Oak is a great fall/winter day/night fragrance. It can be worn in daytime and night. It works pretty good for dates due to the performance. Oud Oak is a fragrance I forget about but one I'll want to wear more again. I rate it a 7.2 out of 10.

Cheap oud-based fragrance Oud Oak is supposed to be a clone of Oud Wood, and to my nose smells similar to Tom Ford creation. It maybe lacks the depth and performance of the original, but still possesses its key structure. Oud Oak opens with strong oud accord accompanied with some spices. The oud accord is obviously synthetic, but with some musty truffle nuance found in the original. Behind this wall of oud I detect some woody and vanilla/tonka beans undertones. The longevity of Oud Oak is solid (around 8 hours) with a weak projection. The whole composition is somehow one-dimensional, but pleasant and surprisingly garners compliments.
