Vetiver

I reviewed this a little over a year ago. You can read that below. I add this review to let anyone poking around here know *this stuff changes over time*. Specifically, the citrus top note becomes much juicier and the longevity improves. IOW, it gets better with a little age on it. I think it also smoothed out a touch as well. I should also add, it seems to me that many of the negative reviews here would be equally critical of the TF inspiration. Which, whatever. The profile's not to everyone's taste. That said, I have dozens of clones, and between me and the wife over 100 bottles. I've worn the OG. This is a top five clone, no question.

Shockingly close to Grey Vetiver--but only after the openings. The open here is harsh. In the drydown it lacks just a tiny bit of the depth and sophistication of GV, but I notice this difference only when I get up close and really pay attention. So--for something like 97% of the time this fragrance is present on one's skin--it smells almost exactly like Grey Vetiver. Certainly in the air they're indistinguishable. Impressive.

Really lovely and long lasting smooth vetiver juice. You can't get better value than this. I just love it.

Fantastic for that price. Nice quality bottle with good automizer (my bottle is elongated and angular).

I own both Just Jack Vetiver and TF Grey Vetiver. Just Jack Vetiver is a good fragrance but a poor impression of Grey Vetiver. Grey Vetiver is quite dry and earthy. Just Jack Vetiver has a very prominent citrus + citrus flower opening that lasts all through the lifespan of the fragrance. It reminds me of a lemon/citrus-flavored drink. It is very refreshing. Excellent for hot weather but quite one-dimensional. Good longevity (can still smell it on my shirt 8+hrs later and good projection for the 1st 1.5hrs. Not bad for a cheap summer pickup but if you buy this one expecting Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, you will be disappointed.

Positively surprised, for the price (don't expect great projection and Longevity) it's a solid vetiver fragrance with the Grey vetiver vibe.

To me it smells like tick-repellent mixed with limoncello. I never smelled TF Grey Vetiver, but I honestly can't recommend this. There are so many just better smelling perfumes than this, this isn't pleasant to me at all.

Agreed with previous comments. This is 95% Grey Vetiver. Impossible o discriminate one from the other in side-by-sde wearing, after the first 10min. And the price makes of it a real banger for who looks for a cheap GV.

Took a gamble on this one as I do greatly enjoy the TF original, but fall short of love to justify the price tag (even at discounters prices). This Just Jack got the Andy the Frenchy stamp of approval so I felt more confident in my blind buy. The below verdicts are all accurate: kinda meh/underwhelming open but it quickly turns into Grey Vetiver pretty much 95% there. It does remind me slightly more of Guerlain Vetiver. Just Jack Vetiver actually seems somewhere in between the TF and the Guerlain in the drydown. However, it is more simplistic than both, and quieter in performance. The Just Jack lacks the punch and complexity of Grey Vetiver, and seems a bit more linear throughout. Grey Vetiver feels a bit more husky, and has a humidity to it that is lacking here, and I do miss the little bit of spice from pimento in the Just Jack version. It also seems the amberwood is turned down slightly too, which is fine by me. Despite the small differences, this is an impressive clone and will satisfy all but the most diehard Grey Vetiver fans, or could actually be an improvement for those that might like the TF original but find it too loud or aggressive. Besides the bumpy and alcohol tinged opening, after this Just Jack Vetiver is somehow slightly smoother, even if it sacrifices a little complexity and nuance. Definitely a great deal for vetiver lovers who like the fresh, grassy, citric take on the note.

I got a sample sprayer and have never tried the TF original. Just Jack Vetiver is great for what it is. It's a strong grapefruit and vetiver cologne. I was thinking guys who like Terre D Hermes will also like this. Then I looked it up and TDH also has the notes of grapefruit and vetiver. Also I'm a fan of Guerlain Vetiver, but it's probably the GREENEST fragrance ever. So if you like green vetiver but would like to change things up, definitely check out this Just Jack Vetiver. You get that straw like vetiver smell without all the greenery.

This reminds me of the chlorine removing bulk ordered shampoo/body wash combo in the showers of the YMCA I would go to regularly as a child. Make of that what you will.

Just Jack is beast mode on my skin. i got a compliment from someone 7 feet away!
