Kajal Eau de Parfum

I have own this perfume for almost a year. It has age quite lovely! It's a beautiful oriental, slightly sweet deep rose perfume. Perfect for Winter and night time wear. I imagine my self walking around the beautiful streets of London wearing high heel boots and a leather jacket! Long lasting with a moderate projection!

For my nose smells like a dark chocolate cake soaked in an insane amount of rum: very boozy, slightly spicy and sweet snd somewhat earthy and tart. No rose decided)) well in the dry down it becomes more cosmetic-y and powdery. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

The opening is a very direct citrus trio. Lemon and bergamot rush out all at once, then smooth out after a few minutes. In the heart, rose and iris soften the composition. The powdery effect here is dry rather than sweet—powdery, but not in the heavy cosmetic-powder sense. Later, vanilla, tonka bean, and sandalwood appear, adding a mild sweetness and a soft woody texture. The structure stays clean, without a strong resinous character. Amber and musk help the scent settle close to the skin, almost like a natural skin scent diffusing outward. Longevity is quite good, especially on clothing. If applied too heavily it can feel cloying; in smaller amounts it’s more comfortable. It doesn’t have any particularly striking feature or memorable signature—overall a fairly neutral fragrance without obvious flaws or standout qualities.

Took a risk and bought this blind from an eBay auction. It's a relatively new brand and this was their first release in 2014. I pick up a very sweet, syrupy rose, and it's quite linear from start to the long finish, only losing power along the way. I'm having trouble pulling out the remaining notes individually except for sandalwood which shows up around the 2 hour mark. And I'm picking up on an Oud note, though it's not listed. Pros: long lasting, quality, potent Cons: familiar, medicinal, potent Elaborating on the cons: Wow. This juice is strong, with a bit of a strong car air freshener vibe....reminding me of the scent from my last Uber ride. It might be too Arabic for my western sensibilities to properly review as this reminds me of Montale/Mancera perfumes which I've had difficulty wearing due to synthetic smelling notes. Company literature says that the name means shy and modest, which I find is the opposite of this scent. There's nothing delicate about it, including the packaging. Though the perfume may smell like others, the bottle is unique. It's heavy, almost sculptural and the color of the perfume is beautiful, but the cap feels like a weapon with its sharp points. Kajal is not something that feels nice to hold. Overall I'm disappointed, but at the same time not every fragrance is going to be a hit. I will try this again in colder weather. Kajal might be a pass for me and if so that's okay.

Ok. I tried this again in cold weather and it’s still a synthetic bomb. Letting this go right after I scrub it off.

“Modesty is the art of underlining one's virtues by belittling them.” Kajal is a hymn to modesty, understood as virtue and elegance: something very, very rare. It is a fragrance of extreme finesse: the citrus fruits open to a powdery and clean Iris, surrounded by an imperceptible rose but above all by the woods that give it creaminess and depth. On my skin it feels clean but not in the aldehyde acceptance of the term, a simple but at the same time complex and classy creation. Truly suitable for all occasions.

Following my review which I guess the manufacturer's reported, and took offence to it, they promised me a sample of their range, which they never sent, so I am really cross, not only by complaining to my initial review, but they couldn't even have the decency to follow up after PM me. You have to have some ethics in life and like the advert I know why they wear a mask. El Bandito! Please don't make any other offers, I am not interested in your offers, and leave my reviews alone.

If this would not have orris note, i would be happy, but in combo with rose again this perfume turns out to be nothing wearable - too heavy and unpleasant. Sorry not sorry. Not safe for blind buy.
