I just got this in the mail today and have sprayed it on both a test strip and my hand allowing it to dry down a bit before I give my 1st thoughts. That initial spray is absolutely amazing. I agree with @Bwiller about it smelling like Amore Torrido...def has the vibes except with a strong cherry note. That cherry is very prominent and surprisingly stays strong unlike other cherries that can fade out pretty fast. I own Almaz and have smelled several other Kajal fragrances and have felt each one has a bit of a soapy DNA. Being a gourmand lover I wasn’t too sure what to expect from this and didn’t want to get my hopes up. To me this is not a dessert, edible gourmand, but instead something you want to drink like a fruit punch. The pineapple and cherry blend so well together. This is such a pleasant surprise. On paper it stays smelling like fruit punch, but on my hand the different notes come forward with more depth. There is a somewhat medicinal smell in the dry down, but I’m not bothered by it. I am curious though how it will smell once it macerates over time. I really look forward to checking back on this scent in a few weeks. This to me is a warm weather fragrance....it’s uplifting, very fruit forward, tangy like a fruity beverage. I will def come back in a few weeks to add to my review. So far though I am so happy with this blind buy because this was not cheap lol...so worth my coin 😊

It sounds amazing, and I'm looking forward to a fruity yet grown-up Spring and Summer fragrance. This is exciting, and thanks go out to Myke and Ryan for being so fun and generous. Full review to follow. EDIT: After living with her for a while, I can say dont trust thenfirst few minutes that smell like candy or coughdrops. In a few minutes, this turns into an elevated, airy smell, more like a fancy fruity punch type drink at a resort than a gooey, sticky, heavy cherry pie that the notes might indicate. A dude can wear this ...it smells great in my macho husband. It is one I have to spray lightly and only on my wrists or I go noseblind, which is common for me, personally. At first I wasn't fully on board because I'm not a cherry fan or a big pure- gourmand type girl, but Ruby has a sophistication and lightness unlike other cherry fragrances. One warning, this is a warm weather fragrance, totally.

Kajal Ruby perfume is a powerhouse fragrance that delivers bold tropical mixed drink vibes. The cherry, coconut, and pineapple are definitely apparent on first spritz and lingering giving it a sweet and slightly tart quality. I have a difficult relationship with most cherry notes in fragrances, most tend to smell like synthetic cough syrup to me, but this one does not! The milky lactonic notes smooth things a bit, rounding the fragrance out and softening the tartness. This fragrance is intense, with a long-lasting presence that stayed on my clothes for over 24 hours and may be challenging for those who prefer softer scents. The name is definitely appropriate, I can visualize glistening coconuts and bright ruby red berries when I smell this, smells delicious and drinkable. Definitely check it out if you are looking for something tropical this year for our warmer seasons, but I do think you could get away with this one all year long.

One of the most amazing cherry fragrances on the market, it has the performance a fraghead desires with excellent longevity and a sillage which will fill a room with a single spray from a sample let alone a full sized bottle. Actually for some people who prefer subtle or close encounter perfumes, this may be too strong. Its got a great scent trail of cherry being the dominant note with the other gourmand notes backing it (the icecream, cream and vanilla) its pretty sweet and leans on the feminine side for sure. It also lasts on clothes for over 24 hours. I tried other cherry fragrances like Rouge Smoking for example and none of them come close to the greatness of this fragrance. Would I Buy: Purchased 12/06/2025 Recommended: Cherry lovers this may be your grail.

I absolutely love cherry and I have become a little bit tired of the dark, boozy, almond-type cherry. This was an absolute surprise at how fresh and sweet this fragrance is and it completely ticked the box of what I want in a bright cherry fragrance. The ice cream and brown sugar notes are definitely noticeable on the dry down but the fruity notes still play a leading role in the blend of gourmand and bright fruits. I blind bought this fragrance. This is an absolute winning purchase. It smells like ambrosia salad with lots of cherries very long lasting. I adore this fragrance.. after about 15 minutes I can smell light musk but the fruit salad stands at the front of the line. Half an hour into the initial spray I smell a light musky powder, still cherry, and brown sugar/ caramel. Does it smell synthetic? It absolutely does! But that doesn’t stop me from loving it

I man NOT sorry to say that cherries absolutely DO have a smell, and this perfume is one of them. I grew up in a time when Crushed Cherries was a wildly available ice cream topping and anyone who's ever eaten a cherry in the 1980s know that the smell is the taste- just ask anyone who's bought Cherry Chapstick; no taste, all scent... That said, this perfume is Cherry as Hell and I am here for it.

The pineapple addition in this is simply genius - it just works. An incredible cherry gourmand scent 🥰 I’ve literally had compliments every time I’ve tried out the sample of it. I keep going to sniff it, it really holds my interest. So deliciously sweet - exactly what it says on the tin, yet I don’t find it sickly. If you’re into gourmands then this is an absolute must-try! 😊

I discovered it at the last Exsence in Milan. Powerful and delicious perfume, with roasted cherry in the toka bean giving it an incredible cherry coffee vibe! Totally original and one of the best I discovered at the event. In my opinion, there hasn't been a launch as relevant as this one since Lamar. Kajal Ruby is a work of art. 15/10

Cherry Pineapple Milkshake but not overly sweet. Definitely leans feminine, I will be wearing this one all summer long. In my collection of over 800 scents, this has made my top 10.

This is girly, laud, very sweet and lasts for ever. The cherry is very synthetic, yes cough syrup territory, but the pineapple is here to save the day. To be fair. cherry doesn't really have a smell so I guess there's no such thing as a natural cherry smell. I can detect a Lamar base (one of their best sellers, and one of my favorite ever), with that noticeable pineapple note. At the deep dry down there's a little bit of Dahab musk at the base, but it's mild. I don't think this smells like Stricnina (I have it). This is sweeter, louder, and less musky. I love Kajal as a house, and the people behind the brand. I'm waiting for a good deal to buy it.

Indeed smells like fruity cherry punch. Not hevy on vanilla, cream or ice-cream, just a pinch of those notes. I do really like it, but I would like to have more juiciness in this scent. I detect a slight powdery/lipstick vibe. Still a very nice scent which I truly like but not enough to keep in my large collection. It has a good performance, as with most Kajal creation. I am not obsessed with anythong cherry in general, but still tried a few cherry scents and the one I could compare Ruby to would be Latte Di Cherry by New Notes. However, I prefer Ruby way more, as it is more fruity, fresh and playful, and more juicy out of the two.

Ruby smells like the powder from the cherry kool aid packet. Many people describe it as a synthetic smell. I personally like plenty of synthetic smells. I think the dry down is sophisticated and resinous. It’s not at the top of my list in my collection, but it’s not at the bottom either and honestly, I’ve never worn it all day long. I’ll return to this after a day wear

This is such a raunchy scent and I’m here for it. I got a small decant in a subscription box and I just can’t leave it alone. It’s not my usual vibe at all, but it’s addictive. Over indulgent cherry, tart, with a musky, middle eastern base- I would wear this to... a Halloween party?

Love kajal fragrances, but always been a hater or cherry & almond.... let's see if kajal can finally make me a fan of cherry or almond in fragrances. Excited to test this, but I have a feeling it's going to have the playdough or medicine smell to it from cherry/almond

When the Sky Turns Grey, Ruby Awakens If only every scent could stir emotions in me the way "Raw Gold | Thomas De Monaco" does (my previous review). I often say that some fragrances instantly conjure a scene, an event, or a moment, and others allow my imagination to take over so easily that describing them becomes effortless. At worst, a scent inspires nothing but a technical breakdown, though that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad. I’ve been meaning to write about Ruby ever since the bottle arrived at the beginning of summer. The reason for the delay isn’t only that the scent doesn’t speak to me in the right way. There were two other factors: first, during my trip to Milan in February, this fragrance was everywhere. People sprayed it so generously that it was impossible not to smell it in the air and on everyone passing by. And because the overspraying was anything but moderate, its initially charming character soon turned suffocating, exposing a synthetic edge that overwhelmed me. Second, by the time my own bottle arrived, the weather in Finland had already warmed up and Ruby is simply not a warm-weather scent. Its synthetic, heavy structure becomes far too cloying in the summer. Now, after a couple of months of gloomy, damp, chilly days, I finally dared to wear Ruby again, and the long break clearly helped. Ruby is full of edible notes, but this is not a refined gourmand. The ingredients seem to compete with one another, each trying to dominate, leaving others behind. The opening is an unrealistically fruity, berry-heavy blast where nothing can be identified individually. It’s thick, sticky, and incredibly intense. There’s nothing fresh or juicy about it. The fruits and berries melt into a mix of ice cream and whipped cream, creating a surprisingly dark concoction. You might expect the base to bring some natural warmth, but if those notes are there, they’re too weak to break through the aroma chemicals. There’s no natural Vanilla or Tonka here: instead, the base makes the scent even darker and heavier. And yet, despite all this, something about Ruby is oddly captivating and addictive. It’s at its best from a bit of distance, when it seems to dance around you rather than sit on your skin. I actually prefer spraying it on clothes, then the occasional waft can feel quite charming, unlike the suffocating effect of overspraying. I own two heavy, fruity fragrances with dark amber bases - Ruby and Aoud Extraordinaire from Roja London - and they sit at completely different extremes. Ruby feels futuristic with its aggressively synthetic gourmand notes, while Aoud Extraordinaire reminds me of a lush 80s–90s floral enriched with a somewhat natural fruit cocktail. Ruby is a fragrance that will strongly divide opinions because its character is so distinctive. I’m known for criticizing synthetic notes and how they’re constructed, so this scent isn’t an easy one for me. Still, I finally found the right moment for it: an extremely dark, gray day with no light at all, when a thick fog hangs low and it rains every other hour. Everyone wears dark clothes and hardly anyone smiles. In that setting, Ruby brings a strange kind of comfort. Light, bright fruity scents would feel far too summery. If it isn’t already clear: this scent projects heavily and lasts a long time, days on clothing. It’s not recommended indoors or around people, as it can easily cause headaches. But if you enjoy fruity gourmands and aren’t afraid of synthetics, I do recommend trying it. Just don’t blind buy it! I am a cherry lover. If I read cherry, I need to have to test it. The opening on this one is great! Almond cherry, intoxicating! But it goes into suffocating generic and synthetic mix of ice cream, tofee, whatever. I hate it at this moment. Try on your skin because the opening is gorgeous!

I was wishing I would love this but I didn’t. The pineapple note is far too overpowering and took over. It was a super sharp tangy scent. Then it mellowed off and it was ok but not worth the price point.

I certainly don't need another CHERRY. I have plenty of them....more than enough. I'm especially bitter over the atrocious (preposterously expensive) non-cherry-smelling colossal ripoff (hyped to death by lying influencers) EBK CHERRY 'n' HEAVEN which should have (more accurately) been named **THIS AIN'T HEAVEN :: THIS HAS NO CHERRY**.....but I digress. I sampled (bought a decant) of KAJAL *RUBY* because I'm crazy. Cherry : Pineapple - Almond : Coconut .....what could go wrong? ANSWER: Everything. This is a generic (kinda) cherry with loads of pineapple over-priced body spray. Believe me....you don't need this.

It is truly one of the strongest scents I have smelled, with overwhelming longevity that lasts not just hours but weeks on clothes.. Unfortunately it is absolutely horrid sweet synthetic mess, like a cherry from Disney hell.

My boyfriend liked this one but it was way too much for me. It has a heavy oud like vibe which I find in all Kajal fragrances. I guess it’s the pineapple note, but unfortunately I find it suffocating. Not for me.

Super intense, musky & synthetic. The notes should have been a no brainer love for me but it’s just not working for some reason.

First spray is overpoweringly medicinal and astringent. Dry down smells like fruity sweets. I don’t detect any coconut. I thought it was a hate, but it might be OK, but not for the price.

Whatever happened to this? No one mentions it. It’s like a ghost. I wonder- why wasn’t it properly promoted on social media? Suddenly they switched to Kolada. Did KAJAL mess this one up?

Ruby by Kajal is one of my favorite fragrances. It is so much fun to wear. I get so many compliments. I wear it alone, but sometimes I layer it with peach fragrances. It’s the perfect warm-weather or vacation fragrance. The bottle is gorgeous. The price is right. It outperforms every other fragrance in the fruit punch category. It’s a must-have for any serious collector. This fragrance definitely leans feminine, but I can see a guy wearing it, especially in the drydown. Somehow it’s sophisticated underneath all the goofiness of the top notes. It reminds me of Kool-Aid Fruit Punch specifically, but don’t let that scare you off. It evolves on skin. It’s complex. I get every note that’s listed, and the sillage is amazing.

Really strong musk, very synthetic and at first I couldn’t smell anything else. Took a while then came sweet cherry with vanilla and berries, it did remind me of Tutti Delices Barbe a Papa but that one is also more caramel and much less musk. This has the type of musk that is very hard to get off clothes, unfortunately. I really adore the underlying scent but I don’t really get along with the musk, it’s the same with their Almaz one

Im so excited!! Couldn’t think of anything else today. I know this is going to be gorgeous. I have cleared a place on my glass display where Ruby is going to have her pride of place. Trying to find as much information on you tube / internet. So excited. Looove Almaz, dahub and Lamar. Ruby! mummy is waiting for you lol :) it is now May 2026, still isn't available in NZ. I have lost interest.

I was excited to try this because I love a good cherry perfume but once I saw Sharida on YouTube say she decluttered it I had a feeling it would be bad This is AWFUL Opens up with a very strong alcohol opening then turns into children’s cherry banana scented cough medicine and drys down to the most grossest smelling oud screechy musk that literally does not wash off.

This smells like Amore Torrido aLOT. I get the coconut, it’s lactonic, not sunscreeny. The brown sugar and cherry comes out pretty strong. This did just arrive today direct from Kajal in Texas. I’ll try it again tomorrow and update my thoughts. Bottle is stunning! I added a pic above ✨

This is my guilty pleasure. Yes I know it's sirupy, syntetic, too sweet, too icecreamy, maybe even juvenile, but man it's powerful. I fill the room with this sweet poison immediately. Love it, love it, love it...

This is my fave summer perfume rn. Perfect balance of sweet gourmand and fruity. The cherry is noticeable but it’s a jolly rancher type cherry.
