Bois de Cedre

Another interesting proposal from Lagerfeld, which I’ve been enjoying since its release. In a market saturated with "blue" fragrances that all copy each other, it’s difficult and daring to present a new idea that is not anchored in the past. Here you have one. I’ve read some complaints - not reviews, this supposes a minimum level of taste and olfactory culture - and I’ve found some people confused with this release. I think they didn’t understand it possibly because it presents a different concept, but in reality it’s a simple idea. And to keep it simple, I'm not even going to talk about notes; It's much easier than that: What does this smell like..? Well... This fragrance smells like fresh laundry in the best possible way. - Huh..? - Yes, a fresh laundry that becomes pleasant, comforting and even attractive. As simple as that: That's how it smells, that's the idea. Expect average longevity and projection - the usual in any fresh fragrance - and a juice valid for almost any situation except formal events, which usually require a perfume with more “intention”. The scent is fresh, clean and inoffensive, but one that I’ve ended up wearing almost more than any other: Perfect after a shower, for a casual day or at the office, to go to the gym, to stay at home... This always works well. And there is no need to say any more: A great idea, new, modern and very well done. I see it as a smell of the future: Efficient and clean.

I've had this perfume for roughly a year now, and I find it to be a very solid scent especially with reference to its price point. Throughout the opening to the drydown, I find a certain sweet consistency in its backbone in relation to the predominantly woody scent , perhaps brought about by the grapefruit note, which frankly stands out throughout its entire performance. This, combined with the woodier undertones of cedar wood, come together to orchestrate a frankly impressive scent. Solid performance, the ladies like it, not the biggest compliment getter but it is definitely worth it for its price. Nonetheless, not a very complex scent, does not bring out much personality, but definitely a positive review overall. I've definitely enjoyed it. Very pleasant and clean scent. edit: Currently experiencing some issues with performance after roughly a year of use. Does not last or project as well, quite disappointing considering the general good reception i've received with this fragrance. Perhaps it could be an issue with storage? I doubt so though.

Bois de Cedre by Karl Lagerfeld is a pure joy! Very bright, positive, airy, fresh and attractive. What really makes me fall in love with Bois de Cedre is that the whole composition gives me sense of formal and very elegant, stylish aroma, but at the same time it's very uplifting and carefree. This is not typical fresh-sweet summer scent. Imagine Terre d'Hermes, but more younger, summery and casual. I think the lack of pepper and vetiver makes Bois de Cedre very transparent and bright. And with added perfect dose of salt note and violet leaf - mmmm - pure heaven! But it's not aquatic or sea/oceanic type of summery scent. If you could take the typical Terre mix: grapefruit, geranium and cedar and add some salt and fresh violet leaf - you could picture the main idea of Bois de Cedre - fresh, aromatic, ozonic, elegant. Bravo Karl Lagerfeld - this new scent is very good new addition!

This is TRULY interesting. I get a barbershop vibe from this, and combine it with blue Gillette products post shave. I don't get any aquatic vibe, more of the cedar than anything else, but again combines with the other notes to make a masculine barbershop type fragrance. If you like That genre, this to me is a solid modern take. I certainly don't think it is for everyone, but it makes a good masculine casual wear IMO. Mature profile, day time casual, performs well on my skin and easily gives me 6 hours longevity with solid projection. This will work in the cooler summer weather, but can be cloying in heat.

Man this frag smell like my car frag “glade diamond aqua” at the opening. Even i bought this at ramadhan and corona sale for 19 bucks but my car frag is only threeeeeeeee bucks. But i really really like near love for the drydown. Its so fresh and unique. This made me hesistant to sell it again or not. I bought this mfker 2 damn bottles and got smell like my car frag. Thats it... for me Silage : half my arm Longevity : 4-6 hours. And i spray to my towel it can last for 1 day but so thin Opening is 1 star Dry down is 4 star F it!! I gonna give this love for the dry down. Lucky for me this only cheapies.

I like it. is a very dominant violet and bergamot opening, followed by a slight floral and woody dry down. not a petrol violet note, because is rounded off by the grapefruit and bergamot. after that is a slight animalic saltines with the salt and ambergris notes and fades off into a nice skin woody musk scent. projection is moderate for about 2 to 3 hours then it settles closer to skin. is kinda barbershop without being a bonafide barbershop scent... pleasant warm weather fragrance nice cheapie

Might be the best Lagerfeldt masculine. Three words to describe it: alluring, soft, oceanic. Something in it reminds me of Pure XS by Paco Rabanne. It’s classic gentlemen. Certainly traditionally blue, I also associated this to Del Mar by Morillas. I would say it's a sure bet for any occasion and any man in a mature age range. But lacking performance. The nose is behind another powerful creation Only the brave, by Diesel. Good but watch out for the performance, test it.

A modern day masterpiece! A fragrance exactly like I would vision it for the 21st Century. Minimalistic yet complex. Perfect in its performance with a 100% natural vide about it. Never loud but persistant. Intelligently blended cedar, violet and salt. Stunning. A very brave release in todays world of sweet nonsense fragrances. This is the way I do think the fragrance world should be proceeding. Bravo!

Smells great but lacks in performance. Opens up with clean fresh violet leaf and ambroxan-ich vibe and turns into skin scent after 1-2 hours. Very versatile though. Fits any occasion really any time of the year. I normally have an atomizer for each one of my perfumes, and for this particular frag I can really advise to do so. Scent: 8,5/10 Versality: 9/10 Longevity: 4/10 Sillage: 6/10

quality fragrance, its not a clone of any fragrance, this is one of the best offerings in market for this price point. 4 to 5 hour of longevity with 1 hour projection. great everyday casual, work , gym and even date scent in summer. any age can wear this, this one has character. great item to gift also. women love these kind of fragrances. 8.5/10 (solid release)

I'm not a violet/violet leaves fan, but this one is a big exception. In this one, violet blends well with sea salt and probably ambergris, creating a cosy, salty, marine leaning scent. The salty note is on a harsher side, but only a little bit, I would compare it to a tingling.

Opa Opa...... love it at all, of the three Bois, this is the more sophisticated... very nice for a date or clubbing... smells to security, masculine, fresh and expensive but it does not expensive!

Instead of instantly knowing that you're wearing a cologne, a passerby will simply think you smell attractively fresh and clean. Soft, comforting, clean laundry.

Most inoffensive fragrance ever, clean, fresh, woody with a hint of the sea note. I love this scent, it’s like your second skin.

Clean but not boring. Clever mix between violet leaves and sea salt. Very easy scent to wear especially in summer. Recommended

Fresh long-lasting and good projection! You can't go wrong with Bois De Cedre

Imagine this; You have the day off from work, it’s an open day, no set plans. You open your windows to let the air circulate through your home. It’s a perfect 75 degrees outside and you’ve just tidied up your place a bit. You curl up on your couch and just bask in the simplicity of your day. No stressors or obligations. Just peace. That is this fragrance entirely. Which I can personally attest to, since this has literally been my day today. Many have referenced the apparent “fresh laundry” smell, which I would say is the epidemy of anything that smells “nice”. You cannot get more mass appealing than fresh laundry. But there is a little more to this fragrance that takes it to another level. It’s an aquatic touch, slightly marine. The Salt note in this stands out more to me than anything, and it just feels so fresh and clean. I love it. You’re at home and cozy, but also somehow at the beach. Two of the most peaceful and comforting places all at once. The airy Cedar/Marine touch gives it a slightly masculine feel, but again, fresh laundry.. everyone loves it, and anyone could rock it. Performance is basic, no complaints. It leans a tad on the faint side, but with $15 I paid for this, that’s just fine. Bois De Cedre reminds me of how simple life can be. And in that simplicity, you can find a serene joy. Life is good, and so is Bois De Cedre. Go pick it up. 7.5/10

A slightly misleading name as Bois de Cedre translates to cedar wood, and this is really not what I am getting most of here. I was so lucky to be gifted a sample of this from a fellow fraghead, and was quite excited as I both own and enjoy Bois de Vetiver from Lagerfeld. First spray, I was thinking "What is this? I recognize this scent from somewhere, many years ago". It was not woody, it was an aquatic with salt, calone and a good dose of ambergris - and in this case clearly replaced by ambroxan, which gives it a slightly different tingle to my nose but also makes a little more modern. That's when it struck me : back in the mid nineties a had a summer job at a local café and bar, where we guys used to share a bottle of the original Cool Water by Davidoff for those hot and crowded days and nights. The sea breeze/calone, the violet leaf, musk, spices and small hints of cedar - all of this reminds me very much of the original Cool Water. A moderate projection and decent longevity combined with a really fair price makes this one a nice choice for a summer scent if you're into more aquatic offerings.

Typical guy smell. Clean. Ambroxan heavy with a bitter geranium accord. I’d say the ambroxan pops because of the violet/geranium/salt/sage combo not because of cedar wood and definitely not because of grapefruit. I do not think there is ambergris or musk in this. That would be called ambroxan (read synthetic by definition). With all of that said I like this because it represents a good value for its price point. I wouldn’t wear this to impress though. It smells clean. You won’t be offensive and people will think you take care of yourself. I doubt people will think it smells refined or like super high quality ingredients. It reminds me somewhat of the way Cool Water smelled in the 80’s before so many reformulations.

again with the Matières, beautiful alluring bottle. And you get a first impression of what you'll be wearing. Blue-grey-white classic male frag. Aquatic and sober. I would have amped down the violet leaf, and enhanced the woods. Just a matter of taste. This is a good, generic, ready to use fragrance - perhaps with an hidden personality. What I found impressive, was longevity on my skin.

I first sprayed this and thought it an interesting smell however I don't rate the projection, I could be nose-blind but nobody seemed to pick up the scent. I kept on getting wiffs of it now and again and it reminded of soap, and sure enough once I got home my wife said it reminded her of Imperial Leather, it was nice she said but it reminded her of her grandfather!

The scent in itself is alright but the projection is atrocious. After no more than an hour it’s almost imperceptible except by strongly sniffing off the clothing sprayed. The scent however lingered over twelve hrs on that spot, perceptible only by strongly sniffing, of course.. Nice scent but need to intensify the strength.

Solid clean smell. The problem with this one for me is longevity. Unfortunately it dissapears to quickly on my skin and clothes. Still for the price I paid I could never be sorry. I can easily overspray or respray.

I bought it today , looks like tester smells better than the one in the fancy package, good for summer but problem is that there is no projection at all...For $40 50ml that's ok, Rating 6/10

Well I'm a mature lady and I love it! I simply love the slight citrus notes at the start but the depth of the cedar and Clary sage is what sold me. I'm keeping this one for myself!

My 3 years old son said to me: "daddy you smell like a washing machine" LOL Great fresh everyday scent. It will not offend anyone. I don't think you can go wrong with this one.

Very aromatic. Something for the springtime. In the same vein of Cool Water, doesn’t smell like it but in that vein.

i like the review down below (by GREAT99), it is like 80% of what i wanted to say but let me tell u my opinion: - this is not a bad fragrance or bad release from KL, its okay,not a crowd pleaser but imo its between ok nd nice, not everyones cup of tea, i like it but not much! so far i tried Bois de Yuzu, Bois de Vetiver, Bois d'Ambre and this is the one that i like the least! it does have that blue fragrance type of vibe, ambroxan is not listed in its notes here but its definitely present n i get a shower gely accord that u might find in other blue frags, i dont mean its a bad thing, but it is like something u smelled over n over so its not really that unique or that interesting.. may be its my nose but i dont get much cedra here as some ppl said, its very toned down imo and the salty accords took over, as the reviewer below said: this is good for summer but to be avoided in cloying heat! because it is not a super fresh frag, the most positive thing here that this frag is so masculine, i classify it as a blue frag but not the type that any man of any age can wear, it definitely have that mature style in it, the smell is so close to MB Explorer Ultra Blue but much more mature than that one and less aquatic or marine than that one, Ultra Blue is much more fresher and not as versatile as this one...u might get confused a lil in what i said but another reviewer would tell u this in a much more simpler way, that this frag is such a mess of notes, i wouldnt say that of course out of respect to fans of this frag but this is how this frag is, its not very well balanced, the blend is far from perfect! this is a 6/10 for me if u like this and can get it for less than 30$ then go for it, as long as u r not paying a lot, or prices the likes of AdG Profumo / profondo etc.. i filmed a video review for this one , for more details about its performance, sillage, compliments etc.. and ill b uploading it soon on the channel: Oh The Parfum , alongside a video of first impressions of other frags from this house Karl Lagerfeld.. in case u wanna check them out

After spraying Bois de Cedre EdT by Karl Lagerfeld on my wrist, I immediately thought of the barbershop because of the top notes on my skin. Just when I was about to like it, it lost its opening cleanness/freshness within 20 minutes when the ambergris and musk base notes started to develop sweaty skin scent. Regarding longevity and sillage, Karl Lagerfeld's Bois de Cedre EdT performs poorer than some aftershaves. Overall, Bois de Cedre is my least favorite of Karl Lagerfeld's Les Parfums Matières collection, while Bois de Vetiver is the best of the collection in my opinion.

Woody/aquatic with some citruses on top. I can smell soft amberwoods, Ambroxan, Calone, cedar and a hefty dose of synthetic grapefruit, complimented by some bergamot. It is quite aquatic and a bit soapy. It's alright for an everyday scent but you might get bored of it rather quickly, as it is quite synthetic.

Inexpensive, inoffensive. Overly soapy to my nose. I like the deep dry down the best. I probably won't wear this one much.

Another one that I returned after having for about a week. Didn't take me long to decide I didn't like it. It wasn't terrible or anything, but just did not have a nice, likable blend of notes. Also, it has a very weak projection and had pretty bad performance. Not that I wanted that in this case anyway since I did not really care for the smell that much, but was overall disappointed. No individual notes really stood out, and felt just thrown together. It had a generic type of synthetic vibe (as opposed to some synthetics that are very nice smelling), kind of chemically. Bois de Vetiver on the other hand is very, very nice. That's the reason I tried this one out. It is fantastic, very unique blend with decent performance and projection. This one was unfortunately not at all the same in quality in my opinion.

I like it but i hate it at the same time. It’s similar sort of smell which you get when you do laundry but forget to take clothes out of washing machine overnight. Now do that to laundry few times. And you will find the similar sort of smell minus the staleness on clothes. My partner doesnt like it and he cant tell me why. I dont think i will buy it again

Fragrance - Bois de Cedre Karl Lagerfeld Bottle from - 2019 He's got that sea breeze vibe going on. Bois de Cedre opens on my skin with a calming,relaxing, aquatic,salty and slightly citrusy violet laying on top of a peaceful cedar. As time goes by,he becomes more musky and woody with a strong presence of ambroxan. Longevity - 8/10(8+ hours) Silage/Projection - 7,5/10(moderate projection for the first 1-2 hours,than sits closer to skin for the duration of the scent's evolution) Weather - best in spring and summer. Age - 20+ Compliments(low-medium-high) - medium Scent - 8/10 Main notes according to me - violet leaf,cedar,bergamot,salty notes,ambroxan. The drydown is more musky and woody and I get some -cedar,musk and ambroxan. Emotions - sea breeze,relaxing,calming,peaceful. Occasion(Versatility - 8/10) -For more or less any ocasion(the borderline between elegant and casual) Could be a nice signature scent.

I absolutely with the three year old from the review below....A washing machine, ha! But in all seriousness, I see where the kid is coming from. It smells like a dryer sheet...super clean, light, fresh and soapy. Honestly, not for me. I expected something more woody, not soapy-clean. It's definitely more unique than most designer offerings today, but I will pass.

A very clean professional fragrance that lasts for more than 16 hours. My wife and daughters really love it. In fact, I love it too! It opens a little aggressively but smoothens down fairly quickly to a consistent clean freshly washed fragrance with a twist. Yes, it could smell detergent-ty to some. Perfect for office use. Sillage is good.

What a huge disappointment. After the excellent Vetiver and Yuzu in the same collection, this is nothing more that a minty bubblegum soaked in way too much alcohol. All hopes are gone for Lagerfeld now, I'm afraid. This is bad, really bad. Don't blind buy this! Bottle and colour are great, though, that's all the positive news I can bring.

Just a beautiful soft fragrance. Violet / lavender / soap .. airy like a clean fabric. Smells clean and elegant. Perfect for office wear and summer day. Good value for money and good lasting power for what it is.

Unfortunately this cup of tea not for me .. little bit old fashioned.. with a good performance.. comparing to the Vetiver one from the same line which I prefer more .. sure I will choose the Vetiver !..

For the price and what you get is highly agreeable. Smells super clean and lasts longer than it’s price point once again. Kinda smells like a designer Old Spice, in a good way.

Failed spectacularly on my skin. It dried down to a grandmotherish cocktail of cotton candy and flowers. Never felt less manly.

Just got this and man, I must have gotten a bad one. No projection or longevity and it smells like Listerine mouth wash.
