Bois de Santal

If you’re looking to smell exactly like a stick of palo santo, you’ve found your mach. This is a subtle but amazing perfume, especially for the price point. Strong peppery opening, immediately followed by the loveliest woody palo santo. There’s little to no sillage on me, but it smells absolutely incredible. In love with it, will be wearing it all winter. Edit after a few months of wear: I still like it, it's definitely a winter fragrance. In summer/early fall heat it had a cloying, kind of buttery, fatty smell to it. But in winter, I don't get that note at all - I wear it super regularly now. Sits close to the skin, not too powerful. I wear it to the office, for going out to restaurants, more formalish/less playful settings.

Como empezar con este perfume que es diferente a todo lo que he probado, realmente la primera vez que lo probé quedé completamente confundido ya que no conocía su existencia pero su olor es increíble, todas las personas que me huelen con este perfume les llama la atención su picor por la pimienta y su suavidad por el lado del palo santo que son a mi parecer sus notas más dominantes, que generan una armonía en su evolución que da vibras al perfume que usaría un millonario en un atardecer vestido de lino disfrutando de oler bien y verse bien. Simplemente no hay palabras para expresar como el olfato interpreta el armado de esta fragancia ya que uno logra separar su estructura y disfrutar su limpieza en cada respiración.

Wow, this one! I feel like I finally found a woody fragrance that works for me. Usually they are something i want as a diffuser, or something only hip people can pull off, but this has some deliciousness that makes me feel comfortable to smell like it. Opening is quite peppery which I usually don’t like, but it goes well with the freshness of cypress in here. Creamy and sweet sandalwood follows, and then some more woody notes which probably is palo santo, it’s so soothing and calming, almost meditative. I instantly ordered some palo santo sticks as well coz the smell is so good and I need to smell the real stuff. When I compare it to Tam Dao, this is more spicy while TD Is more quiet dry and grand.

Smells exactly like that one guy I was obsessed with in high school. I could close my eyes and follow him with just my nose like a bloodhound, his sweat smelled that loud to me. Trying to recreate that experience made me get into perfumes. Predictable herby spicy opening, woody insane animalic drydown. If you miss Stash enough to scream cry in SJP's DMs, this is for you. If you smell like this naturally, I'm in love with you.

Recommend. Scent is decent (there's enough going on for it to have a seat at the table), Performance is above average and value is A++

I'm glad this is a cologne and not EDP. It's uplifting, in the spiritual vibe, dry and vegetal, and can be worn year round and might suit warm sunny days. Nothing complex, distracting or cloying. I bought it for a few shekels to get free shipping. If I see 100ml for 15 bucks I'll buy another bottle.

This is a one to one copy of Tempête d’Automne by Jacques Fath, which is discontinued, I think. They're both OK, and much nicer in the dry down. Bois de Yuzu and Bois de Vetiver are the best ones from the house.

I haven't smelled Gucci Rush, so I can't compare it to that, but I would genuinely wear this over Tam Dao (EDP). Tam Dao's ingredients are of much higher quality, but I actually like the smell of this more. The added palo santo note elevates this beyond "just another sandalwood fragrance". This is the best out of the "Bois de" lineup by a long stretch, though I guess that's not really a high bar or anything. Also, easily the nicest Lagerfeld fragrance I've tried, I like this more than Classic, and Photo is overrated in my opinion. Having said that, while this does smell nice, it still smells like a discounter-tier type of fragrance in terms of the quality. I'm in no way saying this smells "cheap", not at all, but this does in my opinion, fall within the rest of the "Bois de" lineup in terms of the lower quality of the ingredients. If you're used to buying premium fragrances with higher-quality ingredients, you should adjust your expectations accordingly. Linear? Yes, but overall, really nice and fantastic value. 7.5/10

Karl Lagerfeld's Bois de Santal is a pleasant sandalwood fragrance. Strong enough to be worn well alone, but also a useful layering tool, for those wishing to add more sandalwood to their own personal composition. The minor listed notes of pepper, sage, and palo santo do add a sense of fresh aromatics to the scent profile, but they in no way compete with the dominance of the santal. Furthermore, the debatable dill aspect of many modern santal (and palo santo) fragrances has been toned down here. While the effect is still present, it is much reduced compared to something like Le Labo's Santal 33. Thus, this would be a good choice for those who seek only a faint suggestion of that odd nuance.

After read some comparisons i must say that this has nothing to do with Gucci Rush that i also owned and the smell was much more centred in the pine tree, being more unique and niche aproach, like Encre Noire does with cypress. Both the scents are very good, but Gucci Rush was more unique and controversial and this don't take that risk, remaining inside design fragrances patterns, doesn't mean that it is a bad thing. I like this one a lot too.

This fragrance smells like palo santo! Not the smoky scent of burning sticks, but the raw, unlit wood itself. There’s a light powdery note as well, likely coming from sandalwood. The longevity is moderate, and the scent doesn’t leave much of a trail. Overall, I really liked it. It’s refreshing to see such an unusual scent in the mass market, especially at this price point. Definitely worth checking out!

Today first tried , 2 sprays, and after couple of minutes, in my collection.. Smells soo good, quite elegant scent, beautiful brown color (but botlle), becuose colors are not on the list of ingredients.. Longevity pretty good, 6h+, dont know about sillage, but honestly, dont care, becuose this frag smells soo damn good.. 😁

Quite interesting scent. It has this dry and sweet palo santo note. This is a good affordable option for someone who likes something in the direction of gentleman society, except this is lighter and shorter lasting. A great cheapie

Well, I don't know... do you really smell the sandalwood? Or did I get a bad batch?... It smells like an undefined tree bark. Same with Bois d'Ambre. Where is there amber? :)
