Fleur D'Iris

Gorgeous waxy, lipstick fragrance. This one goes on a real journey. Nothing much on first spray but the magic starts in around five minutes. Really high quality orris here..For a while there she had the carrot seed / iris qualities of the now discontinued and very unique Miller Harris Violet Ida. The two fragrances share a number of notes in common. This one's much better than Violet Ida. The beautiful mandarin and orange blossom kick in strongly for a short time giving way to the orchid and heliotrope. After around 20 minutes the Dior Hypnotic Poison vibe kicks in and that saves this one from being just a vintage type perfume that may not be everyone's cup of tea. Unbelievably good value and THIS one is everything I wanted Violet Ida to be. Beautiful, buttery orris has been used to formulate this. (I repeat).There's nothing cheap about it but the very reasonable price. Signature perfume worthy. I haven't tried many Lagerfeld offerings but this delightful fragrance will definitely tempt me to try more. A truly amazing find!

Just got this today. Wow. Love it, but did not expect this. The iris was wonderful the first hour or so, creamy and comforting with a bit of dryness. So floral and whimsical so girly and lovely, I can imagine anyone with butterflies in their heart would love to smell like this. Then once it settles unfortunately the iris is less noticable, and vanilla and heliotrope go on strong. Now, this will sound wild. But once we get to the dry down it reminds me more and more of Hypnotic poison EDT. If there was a flanker called Hypnotic Iris Poison Legere I believe it would smell like this dry down 😅 so it ends a little bit heavy. The silage is good, and the longevity is moderate but it is not a safe blind buy. Total chameleon this one, I love it and will wear it a ton in spring and fall, just not in summer how I envisioned. Edit: it is not a dupe for Hypnotic by any means just gives a similar vibe. If you like one you will the other ❤️

It's actually really nice, a pleasant surprise, I love it, the iris is so good here and this smell of new things, new cardboard boxes or ink with the sweetness of vanilla. It kind of reminds me of Ikebana Indigo Kenzo, I really love it. The longevity is great and the sillage is exactly what I want it to be, not in your face, but noticeable and discreet, just enough to spark interest. I need to update, so the sillage is now much more noticeable after a week than when I first bought it, I naively wore it to church today and honestly it was a little embarrassing because I expected it to be discreet, but today it wasn't, on the contrary, it was wild.

I get what people mean when they compare it to Dior Hypnotic Poison or even Scandal Le Parfum. It’s a softer version of both, with dominant iris and orris notes. There’s something screechy in Hypnotic Poison and Scandal that I don’t get along with—maybe something in the floral accord. My bet is on jasmine or tuberose. This one I can wear without getting a headache and still enjoy that mysterious trail of Hypnotic Poison. But you do have to like iris—and I do. But it's not a dupe. It's reminiscent of that DNA.

This is so good! One of the best iris scent I have ever smelled. There is Hypnotic DNA in the drydown. It's like Iris flanker of HP. I love her.

The different stages from top notes to base notes are very interesting and unexpected, in a positive way! The iris in this one is the pencil shaving type of iris, much like Glossier’s You, which dominates the first hour. After that, it dries down to a slightly softer (but veery similar!) hypnotic poison edT. Truly a surprising transformation, and overall very beautiful! Moderate longevity, but for the price I can’t complain.

In the opening, heliotrope and vanilla are prominent with a powdery iris feel and a slight sweetness. Later the vanilla fades and the iris becomes more dominant. It feels a bit like a skin scent. The performance is low but it smells very beautiful and unique so I can overlook that.

This perfume is perfect for spring and summer time floral and sweet, the orchid and vanilla make this fragrance feminine and elegant but dated...this fragrance have a good sillage but it's not overpowering. Rating: 9/10

I bought this perfume today and it was a blind buy. Do I regret it? Yes, a little. This is not really my style! At first it smells like boiled carrots and that's all I can smell. After half an hour the scent changes completely and turns into a more vanilla-floral scent. I can't really detect the heliotrope. The quality is good for its price.

Maybe it's just me but i can't smell anything 😭 the only thing i smell is a whiff of lipstick-y make-up-y scent...

Comparing scents directly is such an invaluable boon, ...when one is able to do so. Smelling Fleur d'Iris on its own first gave a vague suggestion of coarsely fresh aromatics or spices, ...though admittedly there are no such listed notes given. Indeed, the scent seemed reminiscent of such fragrances as Evoke Gold or Prada L'Homme. However, when directly comparing such masculine-marketed scents with Fleur d'Iris, their levels of peppery, aromatic spiciness were notably higher. In contrast, Fleur d'Iris began to present more like a lightly floral powder scent, though still with a freshly aromatic edge, which is possibly an effect of a tuberose note within that orchid accord. Overall, Karl Lagerfeld's Fleur d'Iris is a fresh-leaning, lightly powdery, musky floral. Such a scent profile seems best suited for an actively-engaged and mobile, diurnal wearing.

I resently receive this perfume. Its powdery, slightly sweet, but not sweet enought in my taste thow. Im going to let this "breath" for a littlebit and come back then:) I dont think it has those elements which ppl say about comparing to hypnotic poison, but thow I get that dry down slightly, so Im not saying that :D To iris lovers this can be 50% love cause it depends about if person likes her/ his fumes sweet/ powdery/ orris- comparing-- now I get this powdery, but also there is some not so natural after sniff. Maybe it will go away, I sure hope so. Eather way, I think its "safe" blind buy cause the price is low. This is my first Karl Lagerfeld 😅

It's allright - a classic lipstick-y iris scent. Nice heliotrope, iris, orchid & vanilla. It's nice but it's neither here nor there for me, like an overall worse version of SDJ 59. It's a bit too cloying and is not as breathable as I would like it.

the opening smells like a new bought lipstick smell but after an hour the dry down feels like it's another version of Hypnotic Poison. it is a blind buy, i didn't love it but i didn't hate it either. i could totally use for colder days.

The opening is more of a watery iris with citrus and a drydown, believe it or not, like HP Dior, but more rough. Quite a nice surprise for me. The staying power and intensity are pretty impressive with just one spray.

I used to love Hypnotic Poison but after the reformulation I can't tolerate it, not even as a moth repellent. Yet I find this fragrance to be similar and acceptable. What a happy accident that I blind bought it.

All.I can smell is that horrid chemical dirty smelling base that is being used in só many perfumes nowadays. Hard pass.

Is anyone having idea did Fleur D'iris is similar to Annick Goutal Etoile d'Une Nuit? The pyramids are similar.
