Karl Tokyo Shibuya

This was my first Lagerfeld fragrance and it was love at first sniff many years ago. I remember asking the shopping assistant for something that smells like spring and blossoms and this was it. Now of after many year this still gives me pleasant nostalgic feelings. Now I've already found other fragrances that manage to capture spring closer to my heart but as it is with first loves they always have a special place in your hear. Fragrance wise this resembles crushed pettals or petals right after the rain as it has a dominant watery green, slightly creamy nuiance. I see that rhubarb was what pulled me in but it is so well blended I had not recognized it these year, to me it resembles pettals. Sadly it does not last long and I never received any compliments wearing this throughout the day only just after spraying so not sure it projects. But still a beautiful fragrance. Nostalgia at it's finest.

Great scent. Extremely fresh, watery and juicy. Citruses are very nicely combined with flowers. It brings a pleasant mood and brings you to another place. Will also try the other fragrance from the series. ☀️💐💛

Clean, after shower, shampooyi scent, I like it. The first 2 hours it is very noticable.

Where to start with this one hm? So, for me this was a blind buy since it was super cheap and I know a lot of people who love other Karl's scents so I needed to try one too. I read comments and I need to ask...why some of you buy watery, green type of scents and at the same time in general love only sweet (in a pink bottle) parfumes and then leave very bed reviews? I can't understand that. For example, I HATE scents with aldehyde in notes and I just don't buy them (any more) since I know that I will hate them 🤔 but I can understand that someone will appreciate them. Now I can leave my view about this scent 🙈 This is a very fresh scent with great mix of top 3 notes above. I can barely smell other flowery notes, musk and wood. Still...I like it a lot. But, it's not a safe blind buy. Bad thing is that scent fade away very quickly and after 30min only you can smell what's left (and stays like that for a few more hours when even you can't smell it any more). That's very sad because people like me would love to wear this beautiful, unusual thing. I view it as a morning scent who's purpose is to wake you up, especially when is rainy. From me 👍 for scent but I hope that creators will change formula so buyers can get better longevity.

Beautiful. Starts with a very uplifting Rhubarb note, unfortunately it does not stay for long, creamy and kinda soapy florals take over quickly, especially a slightly watery Peony comes out too strong. But this is such a feather-light spring scent, it's easy to imagine an alley with blooming cherry trees during Sakura, walking through the sun with a slight breeze on your skin surrounded by this airy scent. I just love it, so I won't complain about the lost Rhubarb - well, I do miss it, but I started layering it with Lanvins A Girl in Capri to bring back the citrusy notes Update: layering works, but I need to be in the mood for this, the airy rhubarb is gone to fast, the dry down is too flat soapy for my taste, don't buy if you hate soapy, the soapy-ness stays for a looong time, this is the Sakura alley next to the soap factory in Shibuya, if there is one :)

🎶 Ain't nobody dope as me ...I'm just so fresh, so clean! 🎶 That’s pretty much it! Fresh and clean smell. Pleasant, slightly sweet, slightly floral, slightly woody, slightly tart ...not to heavy on any of those things. Not groundbreaking, but well balanced and pleasing. Extra bonus points because it both lasts and radiates well for a freshie 👍🏼

Opens very fresh and floral, that lasts for about 20 minutes before it's completely green/rhubarb for me. Luckily i don't mind it, it's actually quite interesting whilst still remaining simple enough for daily wear. Sadly it lasts no more than 2-3 hours before disappearing completely on my skin, the projection is also veery low

Love at first smell! and for 20 euros, that's a great deal. I'm not a typical flower perfume girl (I got the Paris version of this and didn't like it that much), but the oriental flowers in this one are so much better :) I feel a bit nostalgic when I wear it

seems as though everyone's sniffing a different bottle :D I'll raise the stakes then, throw in a new aspect: it is a 90s style fruity floral, quite sweet and loud. Smells generic but in a good way. Cheap and cheerful.

The initial spray is very uplifting fresh floral. However, the rhubarb kicks in later and is just overpowering on my skin. I am sad it is not for me but for a rhubarb lover I would say give this one a try!

The scent may surprise you because of the coriander scent, but it will disappear in 10 seconds. After that, you can smell various fruits together, which are delicious and not bad at all. The price is good.

smells like a floral version of santal 33

For lovers of fresh, watery peony. Projection is quite good. I apply on myself 3 splits and when I come out I feel this fragrance follows me around for 1 hour at least and powerfully. After 1-1,5 hour it sits down closer to the skin. For me this odour is on 80% peony with freshly squeezed lemon water, that actually reminds peony fragrance that has been produced by Yves Rocher in the past (Pur desir de Pivoine). The rest 10% is mix of magnolia with rhubarb. And 10% is cedar. Some kind of cherry blossom there is, but more like a ghost. The fragrance has no sweetness, but there is freshness and cleanliness. P.S: Could dare to say that it is a far sibling of Dior Addict 2, J'adore and Miracle by Lancome. (in the dry down you might figure out there is something that reminds those scents). Also reminds Karl Lagerfeld "for her"- lemon and magnolia makes that similarity.

It's really not doing it for me as much as I thought it would. Which is sad, because it's a cheapy and it would've been great if it smelled on my skin the way it did on the sprayer. On there it's fresh, watery and light and made me very excited to wear it in the spring weather, but on me it pulls very strong sour green apple, which I'm not a fan of. And it lasts quite well, but as it turns very sharp ans sour on me in the dry down that's not really a plus. Can be worn if layered with something more creamy, well-blended and maybe floral, but then it doesn't last as long.

Unfortunately the profile doesn't match the scent. I dont get anything fresh or aquatic. Its pure musk floral and its very heavy on the musk. I was expecting something like Givenchy Irresistible but this is too heavy on the musk. Its a bit of an old school scent. The projection is pretty strong. I keep getting wiffs from one spray on my hand. Its not bad, its just I have fragrances for that amount of money of non designer brands that are absolutely outstanding and this is just MEH. I expected more.

The rhubarb note is a bit too much for me and it takes over everything else. I don't think it's flattering in this DNA.

This one is definitely not for me, there's something about this scent that I didn't like, it was a bit too floral for my liking. It opens fresh and fruity and throughout the day the cherry blossom is very noticeable. I wouldn't buy this blindly, smell it first! It's a fragrance that won't last for too long and it won't make people turn their heads, it is more discrete. Perfect for daily wear!

I smell only fresh-cut cabbage. I don't smell nothing more, nothing less, a linear composition of cabbage. Big dislike!

Rather fruity and not too bad for the price, but there is something about it that makes it annoying to wear.

the reviews were very promising but it just smelled very synthetic and generic to me. not something i enjoy, and i don't see where is the association with shibuya, either, except in my mind it's similar to Harajuku Lovers Music, in the way how they both have a synthetic banally sweet quality to them. tokyo with pink plastic raincoat wearing gyaru in clubs and shops. that's not a direct smell association (which a proper perfume ought to provide), more like a visual the marketing gives me. definitely test on your skin before buying.

Beautiful scent but unfortunately very fleeting. I got it for the rhubarb note, something I only experienced in L’Imperatrice from D&G. A fresh and fruity perfume that quickly goes from top, to middle, to base notes, not a long lasting perfume. It quickly becomes a skin perfume which probably was the creator’s intent. Smells clean and it could be a good perfume for office wearing, not at all intrusive.

Wow. This is one of the most polarizing scent reviews I have ever seen on Fragrantica. Test? Where do you test a $30 perfume? I test by buying it and then selling it on Mercari. I'm not sure what to think here but certainly it can't be odd with this mix of notes? Than again, I've been proven wrong on this method of evaluating a perfume many times.

Definitely not a blind buy. Please test it before you buy a big bottle. To my nose, this is very harsh - like fresh cut grass with soil, fresh cut stem and some green leaf. I don't like it. Test it yesterday, I put away the paper strip right after I smell it. To weird to smell like this.

Tokyo Shibuya is far from a “woman’s” scent. The combination of top notes creates a juicy, fig forward scent - must be the rhubarb. Combine this fruitiness with some watery white/pink florals and pretty decent longevity, and it’s a winner for me.

This is nice but generic. It smells like every other cherry blossom fragrance out there. If you do not care about originality and just want something fresh and floral and inoffensive for summer, this one is pleasant.

Nice. a fresh scent. I liked it at first, then liked paris from the same line more. This one has sort of vanished, it's overall a delicate shampooey floral scent. It has an ice clearness to it

I liked it at first, but now I find it too sour. It ́s nice fresh scent, but the sour note is too prominent imo. Very low lasting power.

Am I the only one to feel (as a projection) only the petit grain and orange flower in this one?

Gorgeous and refreshing fragnance. For me it lasted well over 10 hours without reapplying it.

Smells like literal floral mold or rancid citrus fruit on me. Do not blind-buy!
