SOTD: Atman A fragrance collaboration between Rajesh Balkrishnan × KASHTI aka Divvyam Trivedi Makes me really happy n Proud as both of the come from 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 I've been trying this one since quite somedays now.. Not every frag you sample is immediate love at first sniff, some really need their own time to grow by time Let's begin with Atman : Atman is a soulful fragrance one that feels like a journey within. When I say soulful, I mean a fragrance that is beautifully rounded from start to finish. There are no rough or sharp edges anywhere in its journey. It's smooth, refined, and effortlessly smooth flowing throughout. Coming to the symphony of notes, Atman doesn't begin with the usual burst of bergamot, neroli, aquatic freshness, or sparkling citrus. It gets straight to business. The opening greets you with a fantastic saffron accord, wrapped in bitter orange nuances, a restrained rose, creamy vanilla, and an inviting warmth. As it moves into the heart, the rose gracefully plays a supporting role rather than dominating the composition. What pleasantly surprised me was detecting the orange once again. To my nose, the orange is actually the silent star of this fragrance, beautifully balancing the entire composition. This isn't your typical juicy, citrusy, or sparkling orange. Instead, it's slightly zingy, calm, understated, yet constantly reminding you of its presence. I also get a generous dose of labdanum, smoke, and incense. While these are naturally heavy notes, they have been handled with remarkable finesse. They never become skanky or dirty, instead, they add depth, richness, and character to the fragrance. As the fragrance settles into the dry down, a beautiful blend of vetiver, sandalwood, and rich woods takes over. The quality of both the vetiver and sandalwood is evident, as I kept catching beautiful whiffs of them at regular intervals. Overall, Atman is a brilliant composition by the duo. If you're someone who appreciates perfumery as an art form and enjoys natural perfumery, this is more of a personal scent and an intimate experience than a loud statement. That said, it will still earn you compliments especially from those standing close by. Given its high concentration of oils, it feels less like an projecting monster and more like a beautiful scent bubble that gently surrounds the wearer. Please note: This is a full price purchased bottle, and these are entirely my personal thoughts on this particular fragrance. Also, if your preference leans towards commercial, mass-appealing, and generic fragrances, this may not be your cup of tea. You probably won't find what you're looking for here. Atman is both one of a kind and timeless. Atman starts out with an impressive blast of dry, white hot, pure fire energy. This is accomplished by the rare and genius use of authentic saffron. Saffron is special. It comes from the regal purple crocus flower and doesn’t have tendril delicate roots, oh no, it is a bulb flower. Meaning it has almost an egg of energy for itself. It grows close to the ground, in full sun, soaking the suns energy all summer long. By fall it blooms and within the bloom are beams of golden red sunlight - the stigma, the saffron. It’s concentrated enough to stain your fingers and one or two little rays of light can flavor a whole family’s pot of rice or sauce. Rajesh and Divyam could have used only a dry Guaiac wood or a blend of incense or an oud but then you would have had a dominant woodsiness, a smoky ash, a bit of camphor and earthiness. And although they used a variety of things including those, the star of the opening is a grand dose saffron. Breathe in this pure solar energy and feel it going through you. Clearing the damp sadness in your lungs, the melancholy of past longings in your heart. There is literally no place on earth that the sun doesn’t shine because even inside the tallest Sequoia there are resins carrying the sun’s energy to its core and even inside the Mariana Trench there is life teeming with the sun’s energy. One spoonful of the ocean can launch a thousand civilizations if put in the right environment. The sun is cleansing, burning out the toxins and clarifying the recipient for new growth healing, consistent, warm, motivating and the impetus for life itself. Without it we are cold, damp, apathetic, avoidant, joyless. This elemental fire energy in Atman is a true gift. And just like the sun does not exist for itself, and when we find our true path we no longer just exist for ourselves. Atman has more to give. The temperance to this brave, true fire is a deliciously complex composition. The allure of impeccable roses in a variety of tonalities and timbres. Sweet resins like a gentle salve. Creamy Mysore spiced and majestic. Cheerful orange blossom and a dried fruit Manipur oud. The elements of water, earth and air, indeed the body for this soul of fire steps forth to be the most beautiful vessel. You find yourself still transfixed, breathing in the life affirming beauty, seeing all the nuances of color and surprises in shape and texture. Atman is a beautiful being. Congratulations to our two perfumers, we are blessed to have you.

I rarely wear the same fragrance for three days in a row, but this one made me do exactly that. There's something incredibly addictive about it. It's smooth, comforting, and effortlessly beautiful. It doesn't just smell good—it creates a feeling that stays with you. True to its name, Atman has a quiet, soulful presence that's difficult to describe but impossible to ignore. With every wear, I appreciate it even more. It's easily one of the finest creations I've ever had the pleasure of wearing.

Atman by Kashti in Collaboration with Dr. Rajesh Balkrishnan - Where Rose Turns Dessert Atman is a perfect combination of floral and gourmand notes, intertwined with sandalwood and spices. While the saffron is earthy and spicy in the opening with a pungent, nose-clearing aroma, it’s the rose that smells sweet, almost edible — like gulkand. Sandalwood binds the whole composition together in the background with a distinct, smooth, woody aroma. The performance is exceptional, with a sillage that will get you noticed instantly. For some, the opening might be a little too much, but if you can get past that, it’s all roses and sandalwood. A solid release from the house.
