Vintage Muse

This was a blind buy for me, based on the fact that I've really liked other fragrances from Kate Moss. I was concerned about the number of dislikes and negative reviews this fragrance had but I picked up a bottle online so cheaply that it didn't seem like much of a risk. I am so glad I took that risk. I fell completely in love. I sprayed two sprays on my wrist and it was loud and proud. A shocking blast of fruit and musk. Dirty, stinky and offensive musk. Quickly that stink calmed and the fragrance transformed into a beautiful, heady, dark fragrance. Rich, almost medicinal fruit and powder which verges on dusty. Kind of like those vintage powder puffs my great grandmother had from Coty but that I dug out of the cupboard decades later. The musk remains and although it's lost the unpleasantness of the opening, it's always fierce. This isn't innocent, girly Narciso Rodriguez style musk. This is a grown woman who means business. Vintage Muse is in my mind a close relative of one of my all time favourites, Tom Ford's Black Orchid. It's not a dupe by any means but it's a sibling. Even the projection isn't lagging far behind. For anyone curious about this fragrance but put off by the many negative reviews and dislikes, I have some theories. Black Orchid is polarising and doesn't fit the mainstream, so this won't either. While we are so used to fruity florals and gourmand fragrances, this feels like a trip to the dark side. If you're typically a celebrity fragrance fan, this is quite likely to be unlike anything else you've ever come across. For those who have a passion for niche fragrances, give this a try! It might just win you over to the celebrity fragrance side. Projection is excellent, as is longevity.

I didn't realise this perfume existed! I tried on the original Vintage a few months ago and liked it, and today while I was shopping I sprayed some of this on my bare wrist to see whether I still liked it. I didn't know this was a different scent. Anyway... I am BLOWN AWAY by this one. Hours and hours later, I can still smell it very strongly on my wrist, which is always a factor I look for in fragrances. I'm not expert at identifying individual notes yet, but it's rich, it's slightly spicy, very floral, a little bit powdery, almost reminiscent of an 'old lady' fragrance - but yet modern, sexy and youthful at the same time. Heaven in a little purple bottle - this one has just hit the top of my Christmas list! Edit: Okay, so I scored a bottle of this for just $20 during Christmas sales - ace! And it's a firm favourite. I carry it in my handbag and wear it almost every single day... I love it! The staying power isn't as great as I first thought, but I don't mind at all as it's cheap and the bottle is compact enough to take with me. The chocolate notes come up very strong on my skin, my husband loves this fragrance on me as, out of all my gourmand fragrances, he says this one is the 'yummiest'. Definitely recommend this fragrance, it's great for everyday wear and has just the right measures of sex, sophistication and girly innocence to suit almost anybody or any occasion.

This perfume can smell great or a little bit strange, I think it should come with an "user's guide" or a decalogue like this: 1. Wait 24 hours before you judge, so you can experiment with the scent and understand it. 2. Spray directly on the skin to achieve the desired sweet and musky effect instantly. 3. No more than two or three sprays, 50 cm away from you or more. However, if you want the perfume to last on your skin for more than 2 hours, take the bottle with you and reapply a single spray on your skin. 4. When spraying on clothes, do it 24 hours before the appointment, to give it time to settle and oxygenate. 5. Yes, on clothes it smells like a horse stable, very sour, not sweet, your nose is not wrong. 6. It is ambergris' fault which on clothes seems to predominate in the first stage. One of the most expensive ingredients in perfumery. 7. Use at night parties and informal evenings with friends, where it is safe to show your personality, especially with black clothes. 8. Also wear it on Halloween night so that real spirits can identify you and not bother you. 9. Caution: After 12 a.m you may become a witch and charm anyone you want, especially people with mature, bohemian tastes ... choose well. 10. Danger: You may be attacked by unexpected vampires who want to suck your skin eternally. Let yourself be loved or make them dance around you, at your feet!

You'll love it or hate it, but it sure won't leave you indifferent. Like a 2010's interpretation of the 80's interpretation of the 1910's to 40's classics. I bet that when we finally get out of the floral-fruity trend, that sort of scent will be all the rage. And Kate will have called it first. It is categorized here as a Floral-Fruity Gourmand, but I wouldn't say it is, unless you would categorize L'Heure Bleue as a Floral-Fruity Gourmand... This classification puzzles me and doesn't give the slightest idea of what this fragrance smells like, quite the contrary in fact: it couldn't be further away from all those celebrity juices that fall in that category. Forget about the notes too, they don't make much sense either... On the Kate Moss perfumes website they describe it as a creamy floral musk fragrance. Much more suiting description. I've been wearing it from time to time for months, and yet I still find it hard to describe, to pinpoint exact notes, but I would say that it is a scent for sophisticated dilettantes and nostalgic intellectuals. To be worn with a black turtle neck shirt and pencil skirt, tortoise shell glasses and your nicest shawl.

Okay, I absolutely ADORE this perfume. It's a bit hit-and-miss for a lot of people, I know, and there is an unpleasant tang to get past (I don't mind that, it almost adds to it in a strange way.) For me it's sort of like rotting plums and blackberries and blackcurrents. My parents' house where I spent my teenaged summers has several plum trees behind my old bedroom and the smell of rotting plums is really pleasant to me. It's sweet but kind of spicy and musky, also, which gives it a smoothness. Fruity scents don't do it for me but something about the over-ripe smell of this one captivates me. It reminds me of a poem called 'This Moment' by Eavann Boland, which concludes with the lines: "Stars rise Moths flutter Apples sweeten in the dark." Substitute apples for plums and you've got this perfume. However, it is just as fleeting as Boland's moment and it needs to be sprayed again and again. This scent is sultry and sensual and just a bit more than meets the eye, but it polarises people and so I wouldn't recommend blind buying it.

Wow. This really is an underrated gem and I can't understand why this isn't spoken about more. Which is such a shame. To me, VM really is outstanding and it reminds me of Elizabeth Taylor Passion and vintage Dior Poison. Except while those are very loud, bold and in your face..Vintage Muse is slightly more muted and demure with a distinct gothic vibe which I love. I can clearly detect the plum, blackberry and bitter dark chocolate but thankfully none of the whipped cream mentioned. As this balance between darkness and light, sweet and bitter is well executed in my opinion. Vintage Muse, is for adults, femme fatalles and strong women. And so If you like scents like LouLou, Angel, Black Orchid and Midnight Poison. I would strongly recommend that you add this beauty to your collection for both day and evening wear; in situations where you want a perfume that gives you inner strength and the aura of a goth, rock chic but it won't knock others else out.

Living nicely among my niche perfumes, Vintage Muse fits in perfectly. At first spray, the base notes are a rush of strong animalic ambergris lifted high into the air by white musk. Then the Mexican chocolate appears, a rich dark chocolate with cinnamon in it. These base notes swirl together into deep darkness as overripe plum envelops dark sweet black currant. Rhubarb emerges, tamed with whipped cream so it's sweetened, not sharp or sour. Violet, orchid and peony appear together like a puff of soft powder, adding a pleasing, totally feminine, entrancing aspect to the mix. All notes then blend together to intrigue and entice the wearer far back to another era long long ago. Back to the time of castles, thick forests, with abundant wild fruits growing pungent along unpaved rutted roads and paths, Vintage Muse is the sweet unexpected scent of a beautiful young woman, half hidden in the deep dark shade.

I definitely wouldn't have appreciated this when it came out in my early 20s, but now in my thirties this is on par with some niche releases. Longevity not great, but it was formulated to be affordable. Tip for other second hand buyers: give it chance through several sprays. I got a second hand bottle that had been barely sprayed, but sprayed nonetheless and, after spraying through the juice in the nozzle and tube, the true scent came out. I say this because I suspect that the first several (at least 10) sprays would have turned rancid over several years probably and might be responsible for the soured piss and waste accords. Otherwise, I personally, get Chanel No5-esque vintage powdery soapy florals but updated with more modern fruity honeyed sweetness and musk. It wears better on clothes than on skin. Makes me want to roll around a plush boudoir whilst wearing burlesque lingerie.

My dear husband got this for me and I thought oh no I am not going to like this what am I going to do I don't want to upset him because he thought he had got me something really nice. When I first put it on after a shower, I swear I could smell poo. YES POO!! anyways, after it settled about 10 minutes later it smelt really unusual but not in a bad way. I could smell berries and chocolate but it also has a tinge of dior's poison. I know that sounds weird but you really need to give it a chance. I used the body lotion as well because that was in the set my husband got. The lotion softens it. I don't know girls you really have to just bite the bullet and give it a couple of tries because I think it really does smell nice and it is very different.

Kate Moss Vintage Muse is the best fruity floral I have smelled in a long time. The balance of sweet tart syrupy plum and chocolate with salty ambergris and earthy musk topped off with violet powder? Holy hell... This stuff is AMAZING. I almost wish the ambergris, powder, and animalic musk was louder with the fruit part a bit softer, but then again I'm a powder and ambergris fiend so I can never have enough of those things. Vintage Muse is original, captivating, and thoroughly enjoyable. It smells naughty to me but the plummy rhubarb powder makes me think of a fairy tale. That's it- a naughty fairy tale. Step aside, Lolita Lempika. This is what a real fairy's made of. Fairy flesh. Thanks to 2746cstreet for my lovely decant.

Well I love this perfume, I was given a bottle last year and just could not get enough of it. The art deco bottle pleases me as does the price. The staying power is adequate so I would recommend layering with the body lotion which also smells divine. For some reason Vintage Muse gives me the same kind of rush I used to get when wearing Dolce & Gabbana By, there is something quite daring and sultry going on. The combination of violet, orchid, plum and rhubarb give me a fleeting feeling of giddy anticipation. Vintage Muse is not just another generic celeb frag... it might not be for everyone but it works on my body chemistry and I have received many compliments when wearing. I feel this will become one of my top scents!!!

Totally agree with Angeldaisy below. The opening is an animal monster; one of the most indiscreet animalic fragrances I have tried. The sweet fruitiness has a Poison vibe to it lurking under the musk which I like although I’m not usually a huge fan of overly fruity fragrances or celebrity frags for that matter. I’m quickly changing my mind about celebrity scents after this and SJP’s Stash! I got 30ml Vintage Muse for next to nothing online and I love it. It’s a skanky musk, which is how I like my musk; the fruit is jammy and dark. The longevity for me is great too, albeit a little on the synthetic side, but I’m ok with that. It’s sexy as hell in my opinion.

Its vibe is really vintage and I adore it. I can smell it again and again and I received many complements when I am with it. Sharp, really a bit cat-piss opening due to the red fruits - provocative and pleasant at the same time. The unpleasant moment goes very fast. The heart has vintage flowers - gentle, sour and powdery at the same time. I do not detect any chocolate, may be the sourness could remind a dark chocolate with harsh cocoa. The cream is like slightly sweet dessert with lemon, does not have milky taste. It is not very lasting - may be up to 5 hours in colder days.

This fragrance is one of my favourites and also the original Vintage from Kate Moss. I love the powdery violet and rich plum notes,it's great for evening with it's musky fruity intensity. The vintage 1920s/1930s art deco style bottle in plum coloured glass is lovely to look at and a welcome change from some of the celeb bottles which can be a bit tacky. I can't understand the negative reviews,this is an inoffensive,sweet,powdery,fruity delicious scent and certainly doesn't contain any unpleasant nasty notes at all.

This one is so beautiful. I don't get the Cat wee notes people mention. On my skin is lush and warm. Sweet and powdery, I get that its called vintage, because I feel like I traveled back in time to the black and white pictures, fluffy boas and pearl necklaces. But it is in no way heavy like old style perfumes, it is modern. Gorgeous.

I love Vintage Muse! When shops around where I live stopped selling it I bought several so I could enjoy it for longer! I smell mostly cream and violets and a tangy hint of plum. No poo or pee which is probably just an unfortunate skin chemistry reaction for others. Lovely subtle musky dry down. The only downfall is the longevity.

The more I use this, the more it reminds me of a hair salon the perming and styling solutions or the colouring solutions. I still like it but instead of smelling like perfume it just always smells like something I can't put my finger on. Lasts for ages with the lotion I still find but worn by itself doesn't last at all.

Fresh and fruity, almost green (rhubarb), at the beginning, it became sweet and musky. Plum is very present and, by the end, on my skin, it reminds me Ode à l'amour - Yves Rocher because of plum and amber. I love it, it's absolutely vintage and delicate. Blind buy and good surprise. And the lasting power is very good.

I brought this perfume in a sale , & I absolutely adore it . It is reminiscent of classic fragrances . Pleasantly suprised , the bottle is beautiful too , like a amethyste chanel bottle. It is a warm fragrance , slughtly fruity but with a spicey note .

Intoxicatingly sweet twilight, electric with the night to come, unknown pleasures, surprise element, nocturnal adventures that will change your self-image for better or for worse.

Definitely one of my favorites for the night life. I feel so sexy and really VINTAGE :) I have 4 bottles of this and hoping it will never end up.

I sprayed this on in summer and it is just musk musk magnificent musk. No fruits and florals. Skanky MUSK. Love it.

Kate Moss deserves an award for the most daring "celebrity" fragrance - Vintage Muse. What a beauty she is, and the bottle. Gorgeous, just like her sister Vintage (equally beautiful but very different). I think this is what SJP initially wanted but didn't dare or was not allowed to do (Love her scents nonetheless, also unusual gems in the celebrity game). I read a lot about this scent online and out of curiosity ordered a bottle for a steal, really. I can now see why some think they smell cat pee or even manure or poo. Also the category and main accord section can be quite misleading. Vintage Muse starts very very warm and with a quite unique sweetness that definitely has a funky touch to it. It's all there and very lush - the plum, cream and a truckload of musk. The flower notes play peek-a-boo after a while and after the initial blast settles I detect another aroma and that is - as mentioned before - incense. Not the sharp and clean sort that is commonly used but the warm and "I'm a bohemian" kind of incense (def read the review of Jomoves below, 100% agree). The whole affair dries down a little and becomes more dry. The chocolate is dark and bitter and adds another interesting touch. But I would sum this up as a lush musky incensy (as weird as that sounds) fragrance that takes you back in time with its funk element. Very classy and quite reminiscent of some classics out there. I can see why this is no mainstream hit. If you get to try it - be patient and wait it out. As for longevity and sillage - Vintage Muse wears long and strong on my skin. Gorgeous and perfect for special occasions. May that be a big night out or a glass of wine on the couch, cherishing a quiet moment.

As per usual I like, perhaps even love, a fragrance that many people find gross and unwearable. Vintage Muse does definitely have a retro vibe to it. Yes it's dirty, and I can see where some are getting "poo" and "pee" especially in the first few seconds. The musk in Vintage Muse is similar to that in L'Artisan's Dzing! or Serge Lutens' Muscs Koublai Khan. The black currant is initially quite sharp but does dry down to the "black currant cream" listed in the description. There is a significant amount of plum in here and it's dark, rich and syrupy. The chocolate is bitter, the violets are not the sweet/powdery variety, and the rhubarb is sour. I personally get a somewhat gourmand tone from this fragrance. Probably because of the plum's jammy qualities. So no, not gourmand like a cookie, but a certain "foodie" quality.. almost like sweet cooking wine. The high number of dislikes may have to do with this fragrance not being purchased by it's target market. Many who enjoy a bit of stank in their fragrances and gravitate toward older releases probably don't buy celebrity fragrances and/or don't think this fragrance would appeal to them because of the notes.

I don't know much about perfumes, and i'm sure you're right about the indolic flowers you mentioned. I also agree that negative comments are helpful. I have been writing my honest opinion in my "reviews" as well, both positive and negative ones. I for sure don't get offended if someone smells perfumes differently than i do, it's such a personal thing. Vintage Muse was a blind buy for me, which i picked up just because it was a bargain, and i hadn't smelled any of Kate's perfumes before. I was curious to see what other people thought of it, so of course i checked Fragrantica. I thought the pee and poo comments were hilarious, so couldn't resist giving my opinion. Basically, misunderstood jokes aside: All i was trying to say was, that perfumes depends a lot on chemistry. Some fumes works for you, some doesn't. You smell poo, i smell violets, it's all good ;)

It does smell vintage, as it's not another overly sweet fruity floral. Once it settles on the skin, i like it. It's quite subtle, but to me it smells classy. Yes vintage, but not old. I get the black currants in the top notes, then violets and musk, in a "modern vintage" way. I wish i could detect the cacao here, i don't yet, have to give it a few more tries. It's funny reading peoples reviews. This is smelling like pee and poo..? Have you guys ever considered personal chemistry? There might be something in this, that reacts to your skin, giving it a "pee" smell (some perfumes with orange or neroli does that to me). That doesn't mean it's a bad perfume, that only means it doesn't suit your skin and chemistry. It can still smell lovely on someone else. Never smelled poo in any perfume, however bad perfume i thought it was...Maybe get your sniffer checked, if you start smelling poo in a perfume, sounds serious to me :p ? Anyways, i'm not a fan of Kate Moss or celeb perfumes, but i like this :) The bottle is very classy and pretty too.

Ooh. I like. Surprised, as I didn't like the original Kate Moss one, thought it smelled meh/cheap so never really bothered with them after that. Thanks to dear friend patxaran for sending me a sample of this. I do think this smells 'vintage' but not any further back than the 80s! It takes me right back to my teenage years then, Vintage Muse to me, smells like a mixture of 80s perfumes - a bit of Ysatis, a bit of Revlon Intimate Musk. It's even got that ET White Diamonds underbelly (ok, that was the 90s, just). I'm sitting in the sun, on the steps by the beach, scoffing fatty sausage rolls, before I have to go back to my shopwork. 14, at home, lolling in a chair in my school uniform. The perfumes my Mum and her friends used to wear. It brings it ALL back. Anyway, I really like this, want to get a big bottle! Edit 24/03/16: I wore this for a meal out last night. The first spritz blew me away - this smells like witches and magic :), enchanting, I need to stock up.

First impression: weird alcoholicy intro; boozy floral sort of. Plum, rhubarb, amber and orchid in that order, almost an even mix up of all these ingredients. It gets better once it settles, amber really comes out. It reminds me of something nostalgic that i can't quite pinpoint...smell of old clothes tucked away years ago that have been rediscovered.....definite oldie/vintage appeal. Also, it smells completely different on the skin vs testing card=horrid; it settles nicely on the skin after about 10 minutes. As long as you can endure booziness at first, it becomes better with time, amber, vanilla and powdery violets emerge and stay close to the skin scent. Drydown is all about violets and chocolate. Moderate longevity 4 hours. While reading this review I notice there's a progression in favor of this scent:) I must say, Thumbs up Kate for bringing Vintage-like scents back!

surprised that it received so much dislike! i brought a 50 ml of this becuase this was on sale and the bottle was amazing! i also like Kate back around 10 years ago. So i have some confidence in perfum from Kate Moss. This was not remarkable upon the first application. No wow moment. Nothing sharp, no note is particularly distinguishable, it was a bit more than skin scent. But upon times and repeated applicaiton, it grows on me. There was certainly something 'vintage' about the smell... not old but vintage... It was like some very modern chic pictures undergoing some photographic effect to wash away some colour to make them look dated. The perfum is fashionable, it is chic but it is presented differently to make it vintage. This perfum is subtle and is understated. Think gowns, long gloves, updoes and a quiet night in a garden. very elegant.

There is something vintage about this perfume indeed. Maybe it is the musk, that also older perfumes had as a main ingredient. For the lovers of the Lilabelle series I guess this probably won't be their cup of coffee. I can understand why some people perceive the ingredient of the black currant as pee. But, still for me this perfume is very good and since musk is in the base notes, it leaves a sense of "clean" as it usually happens with the musk perfumes (at least at my skin). I was afraid of the reviews so I just ordered the smallest bottle (which is also lovely by the way I believe) and I will definitely buy a bigger one as soon as I find it on offer or when it finish. It is cheap anyway. I have a feeling that teenagers won't like this kind of scent. But I can say that it is a scent that you will either like or dislike.

Oh, for crying out loud with the fruity-floral-gourmand definition, Fragrantica! This is a skanky floral oriental, no more, no less! This is in the EXACT same vein as Van Cleef & Arpels First or Rochas Femme without the oakmoss and bless you , Kate Moss for having dared to produce a perfume like this. Not that I am stupid enough to imagine that you were too involved, but Coty, you did a great job! This is very sexy, very early 80ies, very "all-men-including-young-men" going "aaaaaahhh!". Sexy as hell! Plum and ambergris is what I smell and a smidgen of rhubarb that sharpens it. The cacao is not there to me or maybe it is, but who cares? The violet is what sweetens this, not some fruit. This is a sexy mothafucka! Get it before it disappears! Your man, whether you are a man or a woman, will absolutely LOVE this one!

Oh my, this one is deliciously filthy! On me it's smells very vintage-y and interesting. I get...violets? And ambergris mostly, and at the first spray I get a wiff of something that I'm pretty sure is what makes the scent smell like piss on some people. Luckily, on my skin that quickly fades, and I'm left with quite a sensual floral-musky scent. I find myself actually liking this a lot, though I don't reach for it often. However I can definitely understand the dislikes on this fragrance! It's not everyone's cup of tea, and skin chemistry probably plays a big part on whether it's going to work on you or not. Definitely test before buying! And no matter what the description says, floral-fruity it is not.

I'm in 2 minds about this fragrance. Some days I love the vintage smell of it and on other days, it makes me think of an old lady's closet. I bought a small bottle and a larger bottle at the same time without having tried it (both at super cheap prices) so I guess I have to get used to it. There are days when I enjoy wearing it and I'm getting more used to it, but yes, it's not a fragrance for everyone and/or every day. One GOOD thing I can say about this celebrity fragrance is that at least it's not a generic-sugary-sweet-vanilla fragrance - although I enjoy those fragrances too (some of them anyway), so that's definitely a nice change of pace.

Vintage Muse captured my attention in a good way! I'm often attracted to fragrances that are a little different and I like this one. This is moody, plush and mysterious. Don't be alarmed by the opening. I don't mind the opening of tart blackcurrant and sour rhubarb but, if you spray and let it dry a minute that tartness will subside. My latest love note is plum so I was excited to find a delicious plum note here. The perfume dries down to a floral musk that's not strong or heavy, even though it is quite musky. Vintage Muse is not overly sweet, but rich and deep. Obviously this is not everyone's thing, but I like it a lot.

this is a totally purple skank fest! i love the opening the best. civet animalic bomb. i crave a dash of violet leaf, some iris/rose/violet lipstick combo, to cut through the fruity nature of this a little - but obviously, then it will become a different perfume altogether. the dry down is les skanky, fairly modern and oddly reminds me of one of the Kylie Darlings. there is the fruity violet i remember from Pharell Girl, so it is swaying from any vintage vibe to me due to its modern materials. nonetheless, on this budget, still a massive thumbs up from me, for all that brave purple skankiness.

Oh yes, so retro, you’d know that from the very first spray! So many retro/vintage perfumes with classic composition out there that you have to learn and observe first to asses how retro they are, but this one straightly opens 70’s / 80’s door with its plumy soapy musky blast. Skanky musk that exists all the time. Dirty sexy. The dry down is more rounded with ambergris. I’m not sure about whipped cream and chocolate though, like they are there but too shy to say hello. Considering how retro and how cheap its price, it deserves at least a like.

I bought this on a whim because I really enjoy the 'original' Vintage - plus, it was dirt cheap. I tried it out on a test strip first and was slightly disappointed, because I only got 'cat pee'. However, when wearing it on my skin it quickly turns into a sexy, musky scent with that typical vintage 80's vibe - must be the ambergris! Unfortunately the longevity isn't all that great, lasting 3-4 hours on me. I'm still keeping it because it's such an interesting scent and the bottle is beautiful :)

I was pleasantly suprised with this perfume. I got it with a magazine subscription and was a bit reticent before I opened it (thinking it would be one of those horrible smelly celebrity perfumes). On the contrary, despite the strong violet scent when sprayed, it develops into a very nice and sweet fruity smell on my skin (even my fiance, who normally does not even noticed, mentioned how nice I smelled!)

I'm not a fan of floral fragrances but this one is pretty good. Probably because of the sweetness I'm catching from the chocolate and berries. The fragrance is dark and mysterious and the smell has some quirky personality! Inspiring name for a good winter fragrance but I probably wouldn't buy it again. Worth trying still. The fragrance lasted from early morning hours till midday.

Ok, I do NOT get poo from this! Yuck! but if my poo smelt like this, I'd wonder what was up. I get intense violets and a clean smell from this - it reminds me of a softer Ultraviolet by Paco Rabanne and even a hint of Poison (Dior) in there too - berries and violets all the way with this one. Very old school, very cool.

it's a cheaper version of Peony Pivoine. At first you smell cat urine but later it becomes nice floral :-)

An extremely well done celebrity fragrance. I accidentally ordered this thinking it was the original Vintage. Then i read the comments on this one, and I was sure I would hate it. I then got it and spritzed it half an hour ago.. It's actually very good, I honestly can't believe this is a celebrity perfume, it's the total oposite of what the modern celeb perfumes smell like. I must admit, the first 3 minutes or so were quite unbearable, but after that it just turned into a luxurious, expensive smelling perfume. It's got that animalic note I smell in every Chanel i tried ( don't even know what it is, I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about), mixed with some clean musk, slightly similar to the one in N. Rodriguez 'Essence'. It also got a bit of the Nivea cream vibe to it. No plums at all on my skin. Wow, I'm surprised. Don't be scared of this perfume, give it a try.

It doesn't smells like Poison but it has the same vibe. It is both skanky and floriental to me. Not a safe blind buy, you have to love animalic side of perfumery or "dangerous flowers" side. Weak projection and sillage but moderate longevity. Something you must have if you like "purple vibe".

This one is really interesting... I get the cow house and cat piss, but its mixed with powder, and on skin it weirdly turns quite sexy. Its the strangest thing. It smells like hot dirty sex. I’m selling my 50ml edt if anyone is interested.

" There is nothing wrong with my nose , thank you very much. Some flowers are "Indolic" and have a distinct fecal /feces smell to them. The same has been reported for "Girard Lysval" , which is very heavy on Indolic Jasmine. Maybe there is something wrong with my nose , but many have reported the same with this perfume. All of our noses cant be wrong! Obviously it is one of those perfumes that only suits 1 type of skin chemistry. Im glad that some people like this perfume. ...However , bad reviews are just as helpful as good ones , and can save people making costly blind buying mistakes.(..Not that a lot of money would be wasted in the case of Vintage Muse , as it is dirt cheap both online n in the UK shops!) This is a site for opinions n reviews. I dont "get" people who get upset when a perfume they like gets a bad review. Its only a perfume for Gods sake , its not religion/Politics , life/death. If someone slates a perfume i love , it does not bother me and i wont get upset or post sarcastic messages that insinuate something is wrong with the nose of the reviewer! However im all for democracy and free speech , so your entitled to your opinion. It just strikes me as a petty to write off the "Noses" of a whole bunch of people , just because they dont agree with you.

Firstly, to clarify: I don't have this scent. I had been wanting it based on the notes and finally found a tester today. On first application it was very strong, not appealing. The 'dusky dank vintage' was clearly there. After a short while it started to settle and became a dark floral and I thought, 'this might turn out to be ok'. But without further ado this scent twisted itself around and settled itself into a place I remember as a child. Remember that place Grandma used to keep her secrets in, and as kids, it was always such fun to peek in and see the lace and silks and pretties you could never imagine your Grandmother wearing... Yeap, Grandmas knicker drawer. That's the place. And although I loved my Grandma, the smell of her knickers is not something I would enjoy wearing. I will give this a second test next time I get a chance, because everyone/thing deserves that. But if I smell that drawer again, I am not going back for a third time!

Wow... I am quite disappointed with this one. Looking at the notes, it seems to be a nice fragrance but to my nose it just smells like soap. And I do not mean all those lovely perfumed soaps you can get in every store nowadays, but the simplest kind of soap made using an old recipe without any special additives. When taking a big whiff from very close, I can detect a hint of fruit and I think that if it was stronger I could like this perfume. Unfortunately it is barely there so for me it's just soap, soap, soap, and soap again. Don't get me wrong, it does NOT stink, but since it smells like soap on me, personally I do not see much point in buying it. It would be better if I just switched from shower gels to loads of soap instead ;-) But hey, test it anyway because maybe it will turn out completely different on your skin!

This review will probably be deleted, because I'm going to be nasty, as Vintage is nasty to my nose. This perfume (to my nose) smells like poo. I think is the rhuburb. The first thing that comes to my mind when I smell this is exactly a dirty toilet. Why? It seems the nose of this perfume used putrid smells. Yes I can smell all the notes in there, but they are all mixed up and lefted to roat for weeks. Its just awfull to me. I would really like to appreciate the dry down of this stuff but the top notes are just umberable. The bottle is beutifull and I would love to have it just for the bottle, but unfortunatly just the memory of this perfume makes me sick. Another bad perfume from Kate Moss :(
