Kate Spade New York Sparkle

An unapologetically feminine, floral and fresh perfume that reminds me of winter. When I smell this I see the image of a flower breaking through a fresh layer of snow. I am not really a freshy person, but New York Sparkle has so much personality that I just fell in love with her. She is very versatile, great for a night out, for work, for casual or formal wear. I can see this appealing to woman across all age groups and could be worn year-round though I prefer it in winter. I pick up a beautifully potent peony, a tart black current note, and a lovely non-descript vanilla sweetness in the base. Its more of a perfumy sweetness than a sugary gourmand sweetness. I do not smell Crème Burlee. I also do not smell pink pepper, though I do think it is giving this perfume a little kick in the background. Projection, longevity, and the scent trail are all moderate. I do have to top this off, but the bottle is so easy to throw in your bag. And for $30.00, I am really blown away by how addicting and beautiful this is. This is a 10/10 for me. For layering suggestions try New York Sparkle with CH Good Girl Supreme. The berry in Good Girl Supreme and the bright peony in New York Sparkle are made to be worn together. It also adds a lightness to Good Girl Supreme. Or try it with Sol de Janerio's Cheirosa 59. Wear that combo if you want to smell like an ethereal winter goddess dusted with snowflakes. This is what I imagine Arwen from Lord of the Rings smelling like: powdery, soft, sparking, with a fresh coolness.

As below, not comparing this, it does its own thing. I found NYS at Ross. Bc of my love for my other KS Cherie’ & a quick note search, I snatched right up. Now, bc I love as much as Cherie’, I am searching for all the Kate Spade fragrances(discount only). Oh, she is good The black currant is so rich & juicy, very strong in the opening, last throughout. The peony, oh that sweet peony, mixed w the berry is bright, loud. Pink pepper provides balance to the sweet fruitiness. I have no idea if I smell hawthorn, bc I have no idea what it smells like. I don’t think I have anything w that note. The creme brûlée w the vanilla adds a creamy base, w the berry & peony leading the way. The blend is good, I really like this. Just like my other KS, this is a performer! Trail leaving, room filling projection & silage that last almost 3 hours. I get about 8 on skin , until laundered on clothing. I am at 9 hrs & it is a cozy berry/vanilla skin scent. Smells sooo good, I think my favorite dry down of all my fragrances. I am so impressed, at this point anything less from the other KS fragrances would be the surprise. This will be a year round fragrance for me. It is perked up in our cold air right now in the day. But for our hot steamy Summer nights, this will be perfect just as well. This could be worn to work or out, it is versatile. At least I think so bc of how balanced it is. This is a dependable fragrance😊 100/10

The Ever Persistent Kate Spade Sparkle! This perfume is about as persistent as you would need to be to survive two years of long distance. It’s a powerful, girly aroma that imprints itself on clothes, skin, and memory. It became a scent I never wanted to be without and it's definitely one you won’t easily forget. The longevity in this perfume is one of its greatest strengths. She always put this on before we would see each-other again after weeks or months apart. I would still be able to smell it on her for days after she put it on. It didn’t matter if she showered or if she forgot to bring the bottle when we travelled. The opening hit is a bit intense, and honestly I couldn’t recognise it right after it is used. But once it settles it becomes unmistakable. The blackcurrant /blueberry burst open and then slightly shift into a youthful pink fruity floral, supported by a gentle woody vanilla that runs all the way through. My favourite fragrance! I wish I could wear it myself. It clings to you stubbornly, never giving up and refusing to leave. after every goodbye, this is the scent held me together, almost as if I could still feel her embrace through this perfume. now that we are no more this fragrance is the only way I can truly find calm

I adore this fragrance. It's currenty my favorite. It lasts forever on me and proyects very well. I see people comparing it here to CH Good Girl, I have both and I'd say it's the same vibe but not the same scent at all, specially in the dry down. CH Google Girl is more sweet, powdery, with a prominent rose note, while Kate Spade Sparkle has rose but also musk and black currant, smells more complex. Musk and litchi are not listed in the Sparkle notes, but I get that. However it's very well balanced with the sweetness from the vanilla and the fruitiness of the black currant. I usually can't stand musk. I also smell a sweet wildrose in the background that reminds me to Coach Wildrose opening, but it's not listed in the notes. You know how it is, perfume designers don't publish every note. As for the comparisons with Mugler Angel Nova, I don't think they are similar, the only similarity to my nose is the raspberry that is very close to black currant, and the litchi. I'd say this is closer to CH Good Girl than to Mugler's Angel Nova. To me Nova is very sour, while Sparkle is quite sweet.

Bought mine 3 days ago and upon using it today, it immediately reminded me of something I have smelled before. Damn, I go on with my day thinking what and where in the world I have smelled this. Tonight, as I am about to end my long day, I showered and go straight to my perfume rack to get some spritz of fragrance before sleep. I stumbled to one of my oldest favorite, Fancy by Jessica Simpson! I then went to my husband and let him sniff both of my arms and boy – he couldn’t even tell the difference! (His nose aren’t trained & he’s not into scents, lol) The only difference they have is Kate Spade has this sweet yet subtle woodiness and a little bit mature (perfect for any season!) while Fancy is flat Creme Brûlée, perfect for layering if you want to have amped up sweetness to your other scents. Overall – I LOVE them BOTH! ✨ P.S. both of them are BOMB when it comes to longevity. They last the whole day! 💛

I agree a lot with the reviewer below who said it smells like Good Girl and Dior Addict! However, the fruity peony aspect definitely reminds me more of VGG and not the original. I’m not a huge fan of any of the Good Girls but I love Addict. The pepper doesn’t pack much of a punch—Addict somehow doesn’t have that listed as a note but I find it much spicier?—but it’s still so pretty and well-blended. I got a sample of this fragrance and I’m surprised how much I love it. I’ve never tried anything from Kate Spade before. I’m moving to Manhattan this fall (I currently live in the burbs so it’s not like the city itself will be new to me) and I want to get a bottle of this when I move into my new place. I like wearing warm, vanilla gourmands to sleep and I feel like I’ll be reaching for this one often :)

Just received this—a blind buy based off the notes and reviews. Instant LOVE. This is a gorgeous, high quality scent. In the opening spray I get the black currant and I see why it gets compared to the lychee and red currant in Very Good Girl. It’s warm and sweet, not tart or sharp. Then I get sweet, powdery florals similar to the rose in VGG, but much less rosy than Delina. I can’t explicitly pick out the Creme Brulee and vanilla, but there is a warm sweetness throughout that makes this feel like a floral-gourmand and not just a fresh or realistic, fruity-floral. I can’t say enough how beautiful this scent is! I could wear it all day, any day, to any occasion. It’s versatile, yet special. It’s strong and projects as well! Couldn’t be happier with this blind buy.

I own 43 fragrances and this is my go to for amazing scent, longevity and projection, hands down! Two sprays is all you need all day! If I know I'm going to have a long day, this is always the one I reach for because it lasts and lasts. It's also my favorite for date night. It's also without a doubt my most complimented fragrance. I love pairing this scent with Jamila perfume oil from Swiss Arabian. It's very warm and inviting, but also clean and fresh. The scent profile is spot on. The black current and pink pepper is very apparent when you first spray it but then it dries down beautifully. It's unlike anything in my entire collection, although, I have read its very similar to Good Girl L'egere. Amazing value for the money as well!

I got a mini of this, for the bottle mostly I admit, and it kept popping up as a recommendation. I’ve never liked any of the Kate Spades I’ve smelled till now, they’re always sharp, loud and yet boring fake flowers to my nose. I’m surprised to say that I just love this one! It projects so well and thankfully it’s not their typical grenade of florals. I can smell it on myself all day, and that alone is an easy sell for me when I enjoy a scent. There’s a really creamy note that makes this feel a bit gourmand at first but fairly quickly reveals the deep and sweet black currant that’s strangely piquant. At any rate this is a fun one that is an easy, inoffensive and feminine scent that at least for me, is full bottle worthy.

To plainly describe this scent it's fruity floral and woody. This scent is well made I can see professional women wear this scent and I imagine her to be a boss or leader if I were to smell this on somebody. I do smell black currant and a hint of pink pepper then the florals and cedar. However, this smells very linear on me but I'm not complaining as I absolutely love this scent. A runner in my signature scent choices. Longevity is 12hrs more, projection is arm's length as I got compliments wearing this fragrance so that's how I know they can smell me. I would say this perfume is quite versatile can be worn both day and night.

Safe blind buy for anyone that likes CH Very Good Girl, Delina, and Angel Nova. I get a bit more of a warm, dark fruitier vibe from this than VGG and it's also a bit spicier. But it's very much in the same family. It still kinda has a "fresh" vibe to me the way VGG does despite being marketed as a night time going out scent. I smell the peony and vanilla most. The black currant is there but it's not tart at all it's very muted and light. I definitely smell some spicyness or woodiness in there. I absolutely LOVEEE Very Good Girl, so this is also nice to have now for when I dont want to deplete my VGG lol.

It is sparkling, indeed! It is uplifting my spirit and it feels like celebration, like golden rain of New-year's confetty. The one and only I receive compliments every single time I wear it. In my opinion it is apropriate for festive occasions, as well as for every-day wear. I can wear it all-year round, day or night. The only unsuitable event, I guess, is a one of mourning. The smell is rather unusual, I don't find any resemblance. I can relate the feeling to the extraordinary scent of Pleats Please of Issey Miyake. I don't mean they smell alike, but rather it is the joy of life and the uncommon scent.

Sadly I ended up returning this perfume. I initially had an interesting and very pleasant experience with it upon first try-on, smelling the woody notes mixing with the upfront sweetness. However, trying it out again I never smelled the same complexity. It was very sweet but had an "axe body spray"-like note that would creep into the drydown, then smelled faintly sweet on the skin. On clothes the men's deodorant smell lingered for ages but not the sweetness. It is pretty and on my first try it had a complex side, but ultimately wasn't for me so I returned it!

I ADORE this. Safe blind buy for gourmand lovers. It is the lovechild of Good Girl, and Fancy by Jessica Simpson. If you love those, this will satisfy. Goes on with a fruity fresh glimmer, and has a fun fruity-creamy twist. I get caramelized pear/apple vibes, with a sweet rose/Turkish delight dry down. God it's just so fun to spritz and enjoy. Sexy and fun and delicious. Of all the flirtatious scents, this is not 'kiddy'. I am 30 and this is appropriate. Go and enjoy this!!

I should hate this, but oh man, I love it. I'm usually a unisex scent person but something weird is going on with me lately and I am falling in love with sweet scents. There's something about this that feels so playful but sophisticated, and a little like giving my inner child the freedom to enjoy gourmands. I get a noseful of berry at first and then nothing but vanilla and cedar on the drydown which I'm more than happy about. Might be a FB for when I'm in the mood.

I tested it randomly, I wanted something new but affordable..I fell in love...but first I wanted to see how it performed! It reminded me of Verry Good Girl( which i liked!), but that one was in 30 minutes a skinscent, this one projected like crazy, even in the evening after a shower i could smell it! So ladies..you have to test it, what on me is a beast, may not be on you and vice virsa! This is year round for me..only not for those hot inhumane summerdays!

This is of the same "style" of super sweet heavy perfumes like Black Opium, Flowerbomb, Good Girl, LVEB. You know that profile? I actually like all of those mentioned so I like this a lot, but I know many people also hate those, so if you're not a fan, this will be a big NO for you. Edit: All I said above is still true, but upon dry down it smells like there's a rose note too, which I'm not particularly a fan of. but overall still a pleasant fragrance.

I just love this scent . It’s not very unique but it’s very pretty and I think would be great for any time of year , day or night . It really smells like commodity juice mixed with jimmy choo blossom to the t . It’s very berry forward , I think the peony smells a lot like rose , I don’t get the crème brulee . I’m almost reminded of intense cafe my montale on the deep dry down . This is Very pleasant. It’s juicy, floral , sweet and bright but sexy

This is actually a really good scent. projects well doesn't smell like everybody else. comparing this to Delina exclusif ? it is nothing like Delina! not even in the ballpark... it's got its own entity. It reminds me more of Nina Ricci L'Extase absolute.. almost identical. The notes are not quite the same .. a bit like a good girl flanker. The black current /rose is really strong in both of these perfumes.

I love this so much that I’m on my third bottle!! I finished up a big bootie a year ago and was n Marshall’s during Christmas and snagged this little 1.3oz bottle on clearance for a amazing price!! This is a beautiful woody,black currant with vanilla and creme brulee delicious scent!! Moderate but long lasting and for me a compliment getter🙌🏽 I will always have a bottle of this as long as it’s made.

I find this to be a perfect winter scent. Everytime I wear this, I feel like I have just left a pastry shop on a cold winter day. The creme brulee adds the creaminess, which makes the dry down smell like Christmas sugar cookies. Also, for me at least, the scent last an entire day (24 hours) on my skin. So, I would definitely recommend it!

I didn't expect it to be this good, I really didn't. I started with a 40 ml bottle and bought a 100 ml before I used the smaller one. I also didn't expect it to project that good and stay that long. When I put it on, I call smell it all day long. I also bought the pink one, that one also is lovely, but this one is far better.

Love at first spray and with the complements that followed I decided to do a hunt online for the best possible price. I think it was to creme brulee note that got me hooked. I have since bought New York that I reach for when I want something a little softer.

I’m so glad this perfume gets bad reviews bc this is my signature scent and I would prefer that no one else smells like me LOL 😂. This smells amazing on me! It does smell exactly like Sweet like candy when it dries down! I love this perfume!!!!!

This is a beast. The smell is amazing, it's creamy but sophisticated. I honestly didn't know if I was going to like it as much but it smells so good and yummy. My girlfriend really likes it on me too 💗

Perfect winter scent, though I'll wear it all year long! It smells like a bubbly white wine, which is a plus in my mind.

Solid everyday choice that doesn't break the bank. I can see the similarities with the Good Girl line, as it has similar sweetness and berry notes that create that ultra-feminine vibe. Creme Brûlée in this scent is actually quite mouthwatering, it doesn't make the fragrance gourmand but it gives it a slightly caramel-crispy vanilla scent that plays nicely with the blackcurrant. Smells more on the high end shampoo side of clean than the powdery side of clean. Definitely not super unique or anything, but again more of an everyday reach if you just want to smell yummy. I can see this appealing to men bc of the clean creamy notes. Unlike Good Girl though, I can see this being both daytime and nighttime because it doesn't have those clubbing characteristics, it's not so strong and attention grabbing. GG can choke you out if you overspray and makes me go nose blind quickly, but this is more toned down and bubbly. If you hated GG bc it was too strong or sweet, try this! This fragrance is the blonde manhattanite who goes out for aperol spritzes with the girls as often as possible, and always blue sparkly dresses with matching heels during those night-outs (def the bottle making me think this). She's surprisingly got her life together, and she doesn't take anything too seriously. Pretty and popular, and breezing through her urban life.

I don't know what I was expecting from this, but color me surprised! Upon first spray, I could barely smell anything. I figured that was just my post-COVID nose doing what it does, but then I caught of whiff of something so familiar. It took me a few seconds to realize that I was smelling Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl...from a Kate Spade fragrance? I was able to pick up on the black currant opening they share, and to my nose they were almost identical! The drydown, though, is where they started to separate for me. Whereas VGG is a bit "dirty" (as other reviewers have mentioned of the original Good Girl), New York Sparkle is smoother, cleaner, more agreeable. If VGG is a sultry, mature, put-together woman, New York Sparkle is her daughter (who is wanting very much to be just like her mother). The creme brulee base notes comes off as simple sweetness to me; I get all "creme" and no "brulee," but I think the absence of such lends well to the youthfulness of this perfume. I'm also happy to say that lasting power is great: I sprayed once on my arm, took a hot shower, and was still able to smell it half an hour later (decent sillage, too). Good buy!

Edit: my friend wore this in the (super cold northern) winter and I regretted returning it, this is a good cold weather scent if you’re looking for those tried and true “man magnets.” Too bad I tried it out towards the end of spring, I think that skewed my opinion of it. Still more heady than my usual preference, but we need that up here for date night scents to cut through the bitter cold. /end edit. Final thoughts. I got it! This is a mix of the Taylor swift sugar-berry DNA (not sure if others will agree) and just a sprinkle of the “good girl” gourmand vibe (probably due to the Hawthorne/cedar.) The berry (doesn’t feel like black currant, more a slightly nondescript berry muddle) and pink pepper keep it sweet and bright instead of a very heavy, power house gourmand. The peony is blended well with the black currant, she’s not very loud or rosey but keeps this from feeling too cheap and young. It is pretty youthful though. Decent projection, still smell it easily on my clothes from yesterday. Okay price. I don’t think I’ll keep it but I do think others will like this.

I like this, but not as much as the OG. I smell the OG DNA in this, but this is darker. I smell the fruity rose from the original. Something about this flanker smells like there's chocolate in the composition even though it's not listed. It really reminds me of Hareem al Sultan from Ard Al Zafaaran in the pink bottle with the bow. This is just sweeter, whereas Hareem al Sultan was more of a sour apple and rose mixed with chocolate. I like this much better than Hareem Al Sultan, that one was a disappointment. I can understand comparisons to Angel Nova as well but this is more subdued. Once it dries down I smell something that reminds me of Barbie doll heads and I don't know how I feel about that aspect. This has great sillage and longevity. I might repurchase, even though it can smell odd at times. I think the good outweighs the weird.

This is a very pretty perfume. In all sense of the word. It seems to be to be the definition of perfume as it smells very... perfumey. I know many will know what I am saying. It reminds me of the early ‘00s. I like it - do not regret buying a very cheap travel spray size. It doesn’t stand out much. I am getting the current (dark fruit) and pink pepper and floral combo but that vanilla crème brûlée note comes in and creams it up. I don’t get cedar but I could see it coming forward very late in the drydown. I notice a very significant scent bubble while wearing this but I may have oversprayed. She has some power. Thankfully it’s (literally) freezing where I live. **UPDATE: gifted this very pretty perfume to a friend who it smells gorgeous on. Time rounds this one out.

This was a gift given to me earlier this year. I wore it for the first time on Saturday to my Aunt's celebration dinner. It smells really nice on skin, much better than sniffing from the atomizer. During the first hour, my nose picked up all of these wonderful notes. I'm loving the peony and black currant! New York Sparkle is a feel-good fragrance, both bubbly and effervescent. But--to my dismay...after an hour, it just disappears. It doesn't become a skin scent. It just vanishes altogether! Not good. This fragrance has to be continuously re-applied. Longevity in this is non-existent. It's a shame because I think it smells wonderful. As a result of it's lackluster performance, it is not a safe blind buy.

On me this strangely smells like a cool weather version of Tory Burch Love Relentlessly. I got excited about that but unfortunately the late dry down smells like unwashed skin on me, not BO just like ashy elbows on a hot day. It's incredibly strange... That too eventually fades to a light creme brulee. I enjoyed most of it but not special enough to be FB worthy to me, even at the very reasonable price point Out of curiosity, I did try layering it with Love Relentlessly and weirdly enough it ends up smelling exactly like a holly wreath. Very strange but sort of nice. If you happen to already own both, maybe test out the combination when you want a lighter sweet winter scent

I have heard this mentioned a lot and I found it at Ross a few times and always regretted buying it. I purchased it blindly and at first spray it’s really good. The dry down at first to me was almost a little off putting, with a very sharp note. But after it settles I definitely smell similarities to Delina. There is a little more fruitiness to it, and whatever the sharpness is pulls more for me than Delina does. But I will let it sit and wait for colder months as I think this would be beautiful in fall or winter. It’s a heavy hitter for sure. People say it’s similar to Good Girl as well which I see that too. A good mix of both Good Girl and Adelina maybe.

If you like Delina Exclusif but you don’t like the price tag, give this a try. Obviously it won’t have the same projection or longevity, but still really good! I picked up a 40mL bottle from TJ Maxx today for $24 and it was well worth it, even though it was a blind buy. It opens bright and tart with some peony and juicy fruit, but dries down into a more creamy vanilla with some fruitiness. The opening and the deep dry down are the best. A little weirdness in between, but I experienced the same thing with Delina Exclusif (but for the price, it’s worth a blind buy). I wouldn’t buy full price, but at a step discount 100% worth it!

I really like the opening of this and now I’ve ruined my nose to it! The powdery note in here completely ruins the potential this has! Such a shame but I can see why others love it if they can get past the powder quality! Definitely worth a try if you enjoy sweet powdery scents but if they’d take the powder out of this, it would be stellar. Also this is nothing like good girl or good girl legere, it would be most similar to very good girl but even that is still very different. Both good girls knock it out of the park and this is just to bland in a way for me.

Sparkle was the first official perfume I have ever gotten for myself. I came to Sephora during Christmas to find myself some signature scent and this was the one I got recommended. I would describe this as classy, sophisticated woody floral scent with a hint of spice from the pepper. Perfect for office work days or just going out. To me, it’s literally screaming “business woman,” the kind you’d see walking around in elegant suit and high heels. Projection and silage is moderate, I get whiffs of it whenever I move, which is pleasant.

So when I first got it, it was a blind buy I bought with the first "Kate Spade of New York "that I have smelled a tester of an liked. But with this one all can smell is mostly the pink pepper note and musk so I was confused on how it's considered a gourmand despite the notes ..side note If you do get or have this perfume I also recommend buying the pink or the regular one if you don't have it and mixing these two perfumes together as they par very well together and make a scent much better than what they do on their own.

I have both New York and New York Sparkle from Kate Spade in my collection. They're like sisters - New York is light, fun and playful, whereas New York Sparkle is her slightly older, more glamorous sister, but still fun and not overly serious. The blackcurrant and pink pepper opening is a great mix of sweet and spicy. The peony, vanilla and creme brulee are definitely at the forefront as it settles. The longevity is great, just two sprays lasts me practically all day. I love this as a night time or going out scent.

I just got this today and can attest that it does indeed smell quite a bit like Angel Nova by Mugler. Sparkle doesn’t have rose or raspberry like Nova does, but they somehow end up smelling like twins, not just sisters. I see a lot of people say this smells like Very Good Girl, but I haven’t tested that one yet to make a comparison. I’m hoping I find this more wearable than I did Angel Nova, as I struggled to wear that one. Also, the bottle for Sparkle is super classy and pretty.

Everyone compares this to something different, so I won't do that, but I'm 100% recognizing something in this. It's a woody-floral that's kinda fresh but sensual. Anyway, Kate Spade just does everything right in her fragrances somehow. Feminine, great longevity, wearable, non-offensive, AND her flankers don't all smell the same?! And they're affordable because you'll always find them on sale at TJ Maxx, etc. I'm trying to get her entire line lol

I bought the original Kate Spade NY so I thought I would like this one. I definitely get the black current and I get the spicy red peppercorn note. I don't detect the creme brulee or the peony as this this was one of the notes that peaked my interest. It's a sultry perfume. It's not overly complicated. I'm going to see if once the bottle has a little time to age if it gets better. I think it's nice but it's not one of my favorites.

I just tested this at Ulta and it smells like 3 different fragrances to me. It opened bright and sweet and maybe slightly sharp but pleasant. After 30 min. it became a mixture of lightly powdery and musky. It smelled like a woman’s body; reminded me of Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume. Then in another 30 min the final dry down becomes softer and sweeter and it did end up smelling like CH Good Girl like the other reviews said.

If you're a fan of peppery floral "Barbie children's makeup" scents, then you'll really like this. I know I just compared this to children's makeup but the scent is anything but childish. It smells very sophisticated and sexy. I think you can wear this any season, daytime or nighttime but I think it'd be most powerful on a dinner date in a little black dress. I feel like this scent is so Carrie Bradshaw.

I was never a big fan of any of the Kate Spade ♠ fragrances but this one is lovely. It's fresh, fruity and sweet. Unfortunately just like other Kate Spade fregrances the projection and longevity is rubbish. Don't waste your money and buy yourself Kylie Darling Disco instead. Almost the same however sparkle is just tiny bit sweeter.

fruity, sparkly indeed like a sweet prosecco. its very light, it definetly feels like the impersanation of when u first pour a glass of champagne and get that mist of jumping bubbles at the end of the rim. its inoffensive, and so fairylike. more floral than sweet, i personally dont get the creme brulee notes and vanilla

This smells almost identical to Carolina Herrera Good Girl L'egere and it's much cheaper to buy. However, Good Girl Legere lasts longer.
