TRULYdazzling

After I read Fragrantica user "charleybea"'s comments below (she wrote Truly Dazzling reminded her of Ralph Lauren's Polo Sport. I was in love with that perfume back in the 90s, it was then discontinued. Why oh why?!) I got this perfume from ebay, it was a blind buy but turned out to be a good one. Well, Truly Dazzling is like a mixture of RL Polo Sport, Cacharel Eau d'Eden (which was discontinued also, and again, I can't think of why!) and a dash of Ralph by Ralph Lauren, which is a fruity-sweet scent. Truly Dazzling is definitely not a sweet one, it is on the aquatic side. Worked for me really well, it's one of the perfumes that make you just happy.

This fragrance smells very clean, delicate, feminine, refreshing, and perfect for hot summer days. Clear, not powdery or sharp. No citrus. It's a light, cool salty ocean breeze that carries a watery, softly sweet floral mist into the room. It hovers around you, slowly sinking into skin and fabrics. Easily noticeable for about 3 hours on my skin. Stays on fabrics until you wash it out. Non offensive, office safe. Pretty choice any time you want a clean, fresh, feminine, pleasing, calming ocean scent. I love it ! It's a much more affordable , sweeter, more feminine dupe of Hermes Eau Des Merveilles Bleue.

I have a travel size of this. It's VERY refreshing, sunny, and sparkling without being citrusy. Could be worn by any age. IMO the opening of TrulyDazzling is what you'd get if Grass by Gap and Acqua di Gioia had a baby. After a few minutes it morphs into something similar to Versace Bright Crystal Absolu with some marine and salt notes. I own these 3 fragrances already so I won't be needing a full size bottle of TrulyDazzling. This fragrance is great, give it a try!

This is my favorite fragrance of all time, which is a tad bit embarrassing because I don't usually consider Kate Spade as a notorious perfume house. However, I adore aquatics and this is so wearable without feeling immature. It's a distant cousin to Cool Water by Davidoff. This has since been discontinued, but I would love to own another bottle and would pay a lot of money for it. I have not found anything even remotely similar.

I wasn t expecting to find my favourite smell at Kate Spade s perfumery. I was looking for a replacement for Aqua di Gioia. It was love at first sniff. If you like fresh perfumes and you don t want to offend people with it , this is the one.

When I first sprayed this, I immediately thought of YSL's Baby Doll. Which was confusing, as none of the (listed) notes are the same. And very exciting, as I loved Baby Doll back in the day (hellooooooo college! what up 2005!). Unfortunately for me (or perhaps fortunately, for those of you that don't like sweet and fruity florals), the resemblance for Baby Doll fades quickly as the marine notes kick in. I really like this scent, its very wearable. Interesting but safe, its definitely nothing polarizing. The marine keeps it from being too sweet. The best way I can describe it is: Baby Doll goes for a swim in the Mediterranean. Or perhaps: Baby Doll gets turned in to a mermaid (thanks, Ursula). I do think that the "Dazzling" name is a bit confusing. This is not dazzling in the way a beautiful woman is dazzling. Its not dazzling in the way a piece of music can be dazzling. Its dazzling like the ocean: very pretty, but also a bit pedestrian. The worst part is that the longevity is poor. My skin seems to suck it right up after about 2 hours. Waaaah, I wanted to be a mermaid!

The notes are totally interesting. Laminaria (seaweed)? I didn't get up-close-and-personal; I only sprayed it into the air. But it was so neat that I did it several times in succession, just so I could smell it again. Yes, definitely the sea, or salt water. Fresh. Quite delightful. Would be a good body splash. Especially if you want to smell clean, but not citrus, powdery, soapy, or laundry detergent-ish. That is a feat to pull off. I am finding I like Kate Spade's TRULY series a lot. Note: this is the only fragrance currently in the Fragrantica database which contains laminaria in its notes.

I bought this blind and it reminds me of Ralph Lauren's Polo Sport for Women but with a slight sweetness. I didn't love it at first and was contemplating returning it. However, I decided to take it with me on a recent trip and I'm glad I kept it. It really does have a watery brightness to it and very clean but has a little something in it that makes it feel special. I can't put my finger on it, but I love this the more it lingers on my clothing. It's not super powerful yet I find that I can smell it after a full day of wear.

This is a fruity-marine scent. Very wearable and fresh. I don't understand the comparison to Cacharel Eau D'Eden; it doesn't smell anything like that to me. It is really pretty, but it does smell a little like generic 'marine scented' bubble bath or room sprays at first, though that element does soften.

Smells a bit too much like an aquamarine scented cleaning product to me. I’ve given up hunting for a female leaning marine/ozonic/aquatic that’s not too fruity or salty.

Trulydazzling starts off interestingly, with a sweet-aquatic dance thing happening. Only half an hour later though, things settle into the more recognizable dusty, marine/salty chord typical of most aquatics. I am enjoying my sample but longevity is poor (as with others in the TRULY line, it is nothing but a veil after a couple of hours) and it simply doesn't dry down into anything that would prompt me to add it to my collection.

Nothing like RL Polo Sport W which I love. Sadly it's too sweet, I do like the top notes but ,overall, it smells like shampoo, like being in the salon where you smell this kind of thing. I wanted an aquatic but I don't exactly find it that way. Too sweet for a purchase though it's not unpleasant. Those who love that style will enjoy this. Not my cup of tea.

Sweet, aquatic and fresh. The lotus note stays alive until the late drydown. The salty and mineral notes, algae, etc, they are not too strong, but you can feel them. Generic and simple, but enjoyable.
