Walk On Air

My mother had a lily-of-the-valley/muguet fragrance when I was younger that I adored so much I ended up using it more than she did. I can’t remember what brand it was, but it wasn’t Jessica McClintock or Diorissimo or any other designer fragrance. I strongly suspect it was Crabtree & Evelyn, with Caswell Massey being a close second. In any case, upon first spraying Walking On Air, I am immediately taken back to my 13 year old self, not caring one iota that I’m wearing a rather prim scent by early 1990s standards. A few years later, Bath and Body Works would take over, so perhaps my mom was just ahead of her time with her light but dewy LOTV edt. Walking on Air has that same dewy, slightly green LOTV I fondly remember. I smell it from beginning to end. This fragrance is very aromatic. I think it would be more aptly named Garden Walk, because you get different whiffs of florals and greenery as it dries down. Sadly, it doesn’t last but about 4 hours on skin, but it does last much longer on clothes. It’s one of my few fragrances that’s pleasant straight from the first spray. Is it a safe blind buy? Probably not; it’s not a scent profile that’s getting much buzz these days. It was full bottle worthy for me, however. I lost my mom several years ago, and wearing Walking on Air is bringing back so many fond memories of her. This will be my Easter fragrance this year. I’m glad I found Walking on Air.

Walk On Air by Kate Spade was truly something special airy, dreamy, and full of whimsical charm. It felt like walking through a garden in the clouds, soft and weightless, with sunlight peeking through trees. I remember exactly how it made me feel: calm, enchanted, and oddly invincible in the most delicate way. What made it stand out was how unique the composition was lime, fern, Solomon’s seal, neroli, and then a swirl of lilies, magnolia, jasmine, and even narcissus. It was floral, yes, but not in a generic way .... It had an elegant green lift, like a fairytale bouquet laced with wind. I’ve never found anything quite like it since, and I miss it like crazy. This is quickly becoming a favorite everyday scent for me! There isn't a time where I smell this and think it's too much or too little. It's a comforting feeling for someone who is dealing with messed up scent profiles due to Covid. Nothing smells the way it should to me anymore. I asked my adult children what they thought of the scent on me and they replied, It's light...kinda just smells like you after your shower. THAT was the biggest compliment on this perfume for me as I adore light, my skin but better, type smells. Definitely will be purchasing a full bottle of this one!!! I love the watery floral notes. Comforting. I just keep smelling my wrists and when I grab my clothing from the hamper to wash this scent envelopes me like a little hug.

I love the fern and the Solomon's Seal as a supplement to the LOTV. To me the unusual notes, and the tartness of the bergamot lend an effervescent quality, while something in the middle gives it an echo of sensuality - perhaps a well-done magnolia. Overall the lightness and the green of it do not seem dull or office-worthy, but rather other-worldly, as perhaps the name might accidentally indicate - with a bitterness of something a fairy might wear. Also, I love when a scent has the powder of iris in its base - it is a wonderful, delicate way to finish off a perfume. I think this is her best scent. Subtle, nuanced, and quite underrated. And actually it lasts medium to long on me, with an arm's length, though not room-filling sillage.

Blind bought this at Marshalls after reading a bit about it here and was not disappointed! Walk on Air is clean and captivating, simple but beautiful white florals, super feminine, light, and fresh. It is surprisingly long lasting and has moderate projection. This is an easy fragrance to use at any time, inoffensive when used responsibly, and pleasant for all occasions. Unfortunately, it seems that this is now discontinued so I will enjoy it while it lasts. Coach Signature Summer Legacy is a similar fresh white floral perfume, but that too seems to be discontinued. :’-( Another perfume that is similar to Walk on Air’s floral freshness is Elizabeth Arden’s White Tea Eau Florale.

This is lilies blooming in a yard of fresh cut grass while clean laundry is drying on the breeze in the sun. Ultimate spring scent. Very well done clean floral. I grew up on a farm where the above mentioned scenario was reality and I'm remembering myself sitting on the lawn in the breeze and sunshine, picking at the grass, watching my mother with the laundry, and smelling sweet flowers on the breeze mixed with the fresh laundry. And remembering my beautiful mother. For nostalgic reason alone, I will be purchasing this scent. I almost can't stop smelling it because I love the memory it brings so much. Very very realistic scent. Dare I say a perfect scent? I do.

Blind buy - One of my favorite buys of 2023 - Casual wear I like heavy scents. This is not. * This is fresh, airy, feminine, clean and upbeat. I love Lily of the valley and green notes. * It's aromatic so you can smell it on yourself like a little cloud following you around. * Easy reach, for when your not sure what you want to wear. Lasts 5-6 hours on me. * Good year round fragrance. * Puts a smile on my face. Smells awesome. I love it. Rating 10/10

I thoroughly enjoy Walk On Air. I would say it's floral, but more like "lillies in a pond" floral with lots of green, and very fresh-water-ozone-and-crisp-clean-air-forward. Unfortunately, it has pretty poor longevity on me, evaporating down to a subtle, light, soapy skin scent only a couple of hours after application. I purchased a 1 oz bottle and thoroughly enjoy it, but probably won't repurchase after its used up bc it doesn't last very long.

Wow, I love this. A fresh green spring scent with a punch of LOTV in the opening with the linden blossom and lime/citrus freshness that sends it in another direction. I also detect the magnolia but mainly lily of the valley, linden and bergamot. Fresh, sweet, green, spring. And unique. Goes on big and tames down quick to something close and welcoming like throwing open the windows on the first warm day of the year.

Part 2. Purchased. This is a very long lasting perfume. Very floral. Slightly green. Like fresh cut flower green. Clean bright. It's fresh from the shower putting on freshly washed clothes then holding a bouquet of lily of the valley. I would almost call this a loud floral. Its not shy. It's to the point, there's no mystery as to what flower you're smelling. No vague "floral notes". It's absolutely gorgeous.

This fragrance is gorgeous and feminine. It's floral, fresh, and very classy. I think this is a wonderful everyday scent, and it lasts a long time on my skin. I sprayed some on before bed, and I could still smell it on myself the next morning. I like the dry down even more than the initial spray because it mellows out a bit more. This is the perfect spring/summer fragrance!

My sister gifted me the body spray version and just fell in love. I'm a huge fan of anything with Lily Of the Valley, so I've been on the hunt for it. I was comparing prices online this week when I found it on an unplanned trip to TJMaxx for $20. I was so happy that I got my hands on it. It is the prettiest scent to me. Very clean, floral and airy.

Very pretty and clean. To me it's a mix of DKNY Be Delicious and Estee Lauder Pleasures. It has some green notes, something a little like apple, and some lily of the valley. It reminds me of the smell of rain. My boyfriend says it smells like spring. I've trained him well. This is such a shy girl scent in a good way.

There is something vaguely fabric softener-ish about this but that’s actually a positive thing with this fragrance. I love it. It is one of my number one work perfumes. You will smell clean, good, and inoffensive. This is one of my favorites. I get good sillage and projection out of it.

Walk on Air is my all time favorite perfume. I wore this every day of college and I MISS THIS PERFUME SO MUCH. It was my signature perfume! It's pretty long lasting and is delicate with white florals and the delicious lily of the valley. I'm forever gutted it was discontinued.

If light green had a scent, this would be it! I really love the freshness of this. It's light, happy, and pretty. Super happy that I blind bought this when I saw it on sale. :)

Light, fresh, green, floral. Love this. Reminds me of Dot by Marc Jacobs, but Walk on Air is a bit more floral.

Very pretty and pleasant. It's a non-perfume perfume because it doesn't smell like you're wearing a fragrance--it smells like you bathed with a lightly floral-scented soap. It's not a soapy fragrance though--it smells more like skin cleansed with soap. It has a little bit of that aquatic feel to it. It's very, very light. Barely there after about an hour. "Airy" is an accurate description. When I first spray it on, I am reminded of the scent of opening a new ream of printer paper, or smelling the paper that was wrapped around a bar of individual soap. It doesn't last long on the skin in summer heat. I've been wearing this for about two hours, and I can only smell it nose-to-wrist. It's similar in feel to Jessica McClintock, but way lighter. Very simple and fairly linear. I can't smell any of the notes individually. I was hoping for more linden blossom, but it's a fresh, clean, sterile fragrance. An easy reach for when you don't really want to express anything or make a bold statement, but you still want to smell nice.

bought a mini bottle EDP because i accidentally spilled some of it, and i follow the universal golden rule of 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you' (in this context... if you break it, you bought it). anything with iris always smells like old lady soap to me, and this is no exception, but despite that, the lily of the valley and the bergamot temper it enough i feel like i will wear it ocassionally (im middle aged). it smells cheap and chemical when you first apply it, but that quickly dissipates and you are left with a shower fresh clean smell, which is fairly pleasant. despite spilling quite a bit of it on my hand, i dont smell it until my hand is about 12" from my nose, so fairly faint for projection. however, we are several hours in and it is the same strength as when i first applied it....quite the accomplishment for a generically clean fragrance.

Initially it smells like sunscreen to me, albeit a very nice sunscreen, not a drugstore brand. Once that wears off (very quickly, like a couple of minutes) it becomes a very subtle, fresh and clean smell. I don’t find it to be overtly floral, at least not on me. After about 30 minutes I can’t smell it on my wrist at all, but somehow I’ll catch a whiff of it when I’m not trying. Go figure. Maybe I just get used to it easily. Other people seem to be able to smell it when I ask them. So far everyone I’ve asked (I often harass my friends and family for their opinions of what scent I’m wearing) has said this is a good one. Based on other reviews, it seems like body chemistry might be a factor. On me at least, this is one of those “skin but better” kinds of scents. It is not overtly floral on me, which is interesting because that seems to be most of what’s in it.

In my opinion, this fragrance is what Kate Spade is all about. It's not edgy or sexy or even all that revolutionary. It's light, cheery, beautiful and classic. There's something about this fragrance I find nostalgic. It reminds me of how my childhood backyard looked, flowers, wet leaves and strawberry bushes. I admit I rarely wear this out nowadays. I've recently developed a love of rose and fruity summer fragrances so all my white florals, including this one I've put out of daily rotation, but usually when I just need a quick morning pick me up, I'd spray this by my desk As far as performance, I remember it lasting an okay time, about 5-6 hours. This isn't a super complement getter on me though, but I do enjoy getting a whiff of it throughout the day. Rip Kate Spade, you will be dearly missed

I really like this scent but you'll see I'm a fan of citrusy white florals and greens. It is interesting that Solomon's Seal is a top note which to me smells a bit between jasmine and narcissus which are both middle notes. I'd have to say this makes me think of walking in horse country in Florida on a late dog-day afternoon, maybe because of the Magnolia and Crinum Lily, maybe because of the jasmine that reminds me of the night blooming jasmine starting to open. Very citrusy and green when you first put it on. Some people's chemistry just doesn't do well with the Linden and the Lime. White florals, citrus, greens- really light and fresh to me. The sillage isn't ridiculous and it wears moderately well. Def. seems like a Spring/Summer Daytime scent to me.

Lovely. A bit drier than bloom, ozonic, laundry, dry, fresh, delicate. I tried both this and bloom, I wish I had sprayed this on o to my skin also. WOA is fresh nd dewey, a touch 'wetgreen' but not foresty/earthy, its light and bright. The florals listed are not heavy deep florals, and there seems to be a balance as there isn't a single one clouding out therest. Clean, a bit dry rather than aquatic, a touch laundry, delicate. It lasted reasonably well for the daft place I sprayed it EDIT tried on skin, barely a drop left in the tester. fresh, a touch dry, lovely, laundry/lovely soap but not heavy soapy/powdery, its clean and clear.

This is a very nice, light, non offensive perfume. It starts out with a very wet/green burst of fresh air and dries down as a subtropical forest scent. the most predominate notes for me are lily of the valley, lime blossom, fern & violet leaf. I can detect the magnolia, bergamot & jasmine. It's feminine without becoming girly and cloying. which I appreciate, for many fragrances go that derection. A good scent for spring/summer. Suitable for the office and can see on 20-30 years of age. The one down side is it's weakness and it dissipates rather quickly.

Since I’m not familiar with most scent notes listed (I live in the desert), all I can describe is clean white florals. It’s an extremely innocent frag. It would be perfect for a spring/summer bride, and/or her party - including the little flower girl. How frustrating that it has absolutely ZERO longevity. I’m talking less than an hour, if not a half hour. Best to be used as a linen spray I guess. What a shame. It’s the epitome of celebrating girly-girl, pink, bows, lace, bouquets, and purity.

A breath of fresh air! It felt like I was inhaling stuff from an oxygen tank when I first wore this. I'm catching something very ozonic and spicy like mint at the start rather than floral/bergamot. It becomes more floral after the surprisingly breathy opening. It's fresh, but I don't get watery/aquatic notes from this. Rather, it feels like sniffing air as it gets blown really fast in your face, and there are also flowers in the air. Then the air stops and you get a whiff of spring.

This is a pretty floral, though I don't get much 'green' from it. I love lily of the valley, and it is certainly there, but the magnolia presents more strongly on me. I don't get the linden at all. The initial spray was a blast of white florals which reminded me very much of Outremer's Fleurs Blanches. It did settle down quickly, and became more wearable for me. I will try it a few more times, but based on my initial impression, I doubt I will purchase a FB.

Frankly, when I first tried this it took me back to a scented Crayola crayon I had in childhood. Light, inoffensive floral scent. Nothing interesting or notable though. It is a pro at disappearing tricks though. Usually if I spray a perfume under my clothes I can get whiffs of it all day (even something equally light such as Daisy Dream), but with this one 7 hours later I have to roll up my sleeve and put my nose to my elbow if I want to smell it.

A lovely fragrance I have had in an unopened box for awhile now. I decided to try it today, as a reminder that Spring will appear at some point...(Longest. Winter. Ever). It was a successful blind buy for sure! I think this is a safe gift for those who like florals. A beautiful lily scent that isn't too overpowering. I can see myself using this frequently in the coming months. The bottle is cute too. RIP Kate.

Love the smell- fresh, subtle, airy, no sweet or fruity undertones- just very fresh smell of the air in spring. Unfortunately, on me it doesn't last long nor has good sillage. Any sweet smell like Bright crystal or Mademoiselle will overpower and drown it even if the other person is on the other side of the room. Too bad, because the smell itself is gorgeous.

Green floral citric scent that I find work appropriate as it is light and fresh - pretty much summed up in its name! Not a long lasting scent on my skin but I can wear this on hot days as it does not induce headaches. A pretty bottle that may have been targeted to younger girls that actually belies the fact that Walk On Air can be worn for all ages.

After a surprise alcohol opening, it quickly becomes a super fresh, light, green floral with what smells a bit like cucumber and/or green melon — even though I don’t see either listed within the notes. Clean and innocuous, it’s nice to use after a shower. I’d put this on a par with a Bath & Body Works body spray, certainly not an eau de parfum.

This is awesome as a green musky floral scent when blended with Kuumba Made Zen Rain oil. I have to be in the mood for it but great if I want to smell clean without being too obvious I'm wearing perfume. I'm always on the hunt for scents that are delectable but almost lead you to believe it's just someone who naturally smells delightful.

The opening notes were like a clashing of powder and green notes and to my surprise that settled down very quickly. Thank god it did too because this was a blind buy and I didn't want to return it. After that, it's smooth sailing, a very floral fragrance with a smattering of green notes that bounce in and out of sight. Not too bad.

Loving green florals, this is a nice, light, springtime scent, perfect to perk up the winter. A welcome change from most of the heavy Florientals that abound this time of year. That being being said, I can't understand the concept of it "revolving around the city of New York". Not too many green floral scents in the air here!

lily of the valley and violet leaf go hand in hand. Thankfully violet leaf is not so prominent. The citrus notes appear a few minutes later. It's all a green, inoffensive springtime allegory. For some reason I get lots of lemon/lime. But after a while it turns into a very, very light scent.

I love the Lily of the Valley on this too. I think it lasts about 2 hours tops on me & I live in a tropical country. A spring scent but could pass for a summer scent as well, I was pleased as I tried out a small vial sample of this and is smitten already. Really like it! Nice so feminine! 😊

I like the scent so far...it's okay. It's very light, a bit citric, tart, fresh floral, not overwhelming. It kind of reminds me of DKNY Be Delicious. This is not a special scent but might make a good clean flowery fragrance for the spring and summer.

Has a very nice Lily/ white flower mix note in the beginning, but fades and disappears way too quickly. Sad!

This scent is lovely. I get mostly floral, but it's far from overpowering. It's youthful and very feminine.

sooo cloying if you use more than one spritz, tbh. but that could be just a me thing. it's pretty, though.

This smells so similar to Clinique Happy! If you like Happy, you’ll love this one.

Ive really been digging green and lily of the valley scents lately, so when I saw a mini of this at Marshalls I jumped on it. Blind buying again... But Im impressed! I admit its not super unique, but its very fresh! I can pick out lily of the valley and greenery (more violet leaf than fern), with some other florals in the background (linden and magnolia - white and bright flowers). It turns a little wet smelling- but more "fresh out of the shower" wet than forest dampness or musky-wetness. Stays fresh and clean throughout. The community's "note votes" are pretty accurate. Aaaand Ive already ordered a bigger bottle. Clean, green, floral.

I tried this from a mini. While I think it is nice I'm glad I opted to get the mini instead of blind buying the full size because this made me think of LouLou Guiness that my daughter used to wear. Not exactly the same, but in the same vein - a watery, green, lily of the valley scent mixed with other florals. Projection and longevity pretty bad too but that also has a lot to do with Florida right now. Not many perfumes work well here. I've since passed this one on to my daughter.

Opens very green. The fern note is quick to say hello and slow to move along so you can greet the other notes. There's a sweetness to this that keeps it from being a pure leafy green. Instead it's like sticking your nose into a vase of white flowers. You get the plant smell, the floral smell and the water smell all together. I could see this being a slightly annoying fabric softener scent. Not bad in small amounts but don't use too much.

My mom got me this for Christmas when I was a young teen. The best way I can describe it is "nice". It smells light and clean, it almost reminds me of the disinfectant spray I use at work lol. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not necessarily a good thing either. I'm very neutral on this fragrance. It's nice, but I wouldn't buy it because it's nothing special or great.

I initially didn't like this fragrance. It was a blind buy. I decided to keep it because sometimes fragrances grow on me after they macerate. I started using it after my night time showers before bed. It has become wearable but it's not a favorite. It's the green notes that I think are too prominent for me. It's not a terrible fragrance just not my type of scent for regular use.

It’s a good lily of the valley green clean fragrance if that’s what you’re looking for. I don’t find it very interesting, it smells nice but just not for me.

Given the notes I should have loved it, but sadly I find it timid and shy.
