Boyfriend (2018)

In my experience, men love this perfume on a woman. I can’t tell you how many men have complimented me while wearing it. I gave a decant to a female friend — same results. I’ve noticed that a lot of men have a strong response to vanilla. And sure, I can get down with a bit of vanilla, too! But I dislike gourmands. The absolute LAST image I want to conjure is a vanilla cake pop with whipped cream and marshmallows, and SO many mainstream vanilla frags are overly bake shop-y to my nose. (No shade, by the way, to those who like that vibe. It’s great for them, just not for me). This is the perfect compromise scent for me. It’s got the cozy, crowd-pleasing vanilla and amber in the far background, and towards the end of the day, they’re what’s left standing alone as a subtle, warm skin scent. But the opening leans pleasantly masculine on me: the myrrh and benzoin are nicely astringent, the wood notes add depth... and the plum, far from being juicy, lends a sharp tang — I get more of the bitter, snappy skin of the plum than the ripe flesh. After an hour or so, the plum is milder and more rounded. Ultimately, it’s got a bourbon-y sort of vibe. Sweet but strong, dark, and never airy. Femme without being frou frou. And total man-bait. I use a VERY light hand when it comes to spritzes and am typically a “one and done” gal. With this, I usually do an additional spritz in my hair, and a third wouldn’t be out of place during cold weather. Lasts 8ish hours on me, at least. This feels like a secret weapon. I pair it with Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon dry shampoo when needed, and — in my mind at least — it smells like absolute money.

This is one of my favorite perfumes now and I'm OBSESSED with my Boyfriend (perfume)! LOL 🤗🥰 This is an amber vanilla perfume with Benzoin (warm vanilla scent that I LOVE). There's some jasmine as a base note and the balsamic Myrrh makes it a tad spicy and ever so slightly earthy to tone down the delicious vanilla scent to where it's never cloying. It's sweet and not "musky/musty" smelling at all. There's also a bit of jammy plum in the background. It's warm, cozy, and comforting (like your boyfriend is cuddling with you on the couch), and sexy and flirty all at the same time. The smell is amazing, it lasts all day, I get a lot of compliments from men and women, and it's so unique! This is an inoffensive scent, so it's suitable for wearing in an office setting because it's not "loud". It's very versatile and can be worn day or night, while running errands, out to brunch, or on a date, etc. Everyone I've encountered asks about it, complements it, and loves it. 🤗🥰 I can't believe I just found out about this perfume this year! If you're not sure about it, try the sample first. Kate Walsh (Addison Shepherd from Grey's Anatomy) and the perfumer she worked with did an excellent job with this perfume! 👏 I think it's an excellent value and it smells so much more luxurious and expensive than the actual cost. Before trying this, I didn't have a signature scent and I just rotated perfumes in my collection. I have fallen IN LOVE with Boyfriend!

Leathery plum skin. Resinous myrrh with sweet spice. Oooh, yes, I see where all the hype is coming from. This is decidedly NOT your typical celeb scent. It smells like a warm, comforting hug from a sexy person :D. In my excitement for the crisp Autumn weather we're having, I dressed up in warm earth tones today- cream knit sweater, tan velvety trousers, black leather boots, wine red claws- and "Boyfriend" feels like the absolute perfect addition to my look. It's lovely, soft and feminine for sure, but I can see a clean cut gentleman absolutely pulling this off, too. Classy but not overly sophisticated, soft but definitely noticeable. I sprayed "Boyfriend" on a piece of paper and I basically get "musty plum - but good" whereas on the skin it develops more with sweet spices and benzoin coming out. Heavy, heavy like!! edit: I wore this gorgeous perfume for 3 autumns and LOVED it. It is addictive, rich, and very unique- I cannot think of a single perfume I've tried that manages to make plum, amber and leather so smooth. However, I am passing my bottle along, because in the deep dry down, Boyfriend goes rather sour on my skin. I have no idea what causes this, the same thing happens in the dry down of Orchidee Vanille. It really feels like a skin chemistry issue, so my positive review stands.

I've been looking for a new signature scent, so I've been sampling and playing with dozens of new fragrances this year. I opened my sampler of Boyfriend , dabbed just a touch on my wrist.. and my boyfriend ROARS out of our office in the next room with a bewildered face and goes "Omg- What's that smell? Whatever that is, it's the best one you've gotten so far." As he grabs me and sniffs me. He immediately went back into the office and got me the full size bottle without my asking, and gets so happy when I wear it. You really can't argue with that response, lol. This fragrance is uniquely warm, intoxicating, and deeeply feminine. Usually I am a fruity/ green fan but I was won over by it's depth. BIG benzoin and bourbon, in the beginning-- then fades out to the richest.. "biggest" vanilla/amber in my entire collection. It's like a bigggg cozy amber embrace. Sillage and longevity are impressive. Update: I wore this to a cool weather cocktail party with a red lip-- black men's blazer as a dress... black tights, and a barely showing lingerie top underneath.... I got an insane amount of compliments.

I really love this. The plum is sweet and rich and a little boozy at first. It never totally goes away, but it does settle down and mingle with spice, warm amber, and vanilla. For the first few times I wore it, it seemed to dry down to a very light waxy vanilla candle smell, but the more times I wear it, the more notes seem to stick around and I notice the scent itself for a longer stretch of time. It's strange, as I usually find the opposite to be true. Maybe it needed to age a bit like an oil? I'm not sure, but it has much better staying power a few weeks into spraying it daily than it did when I first got it. Our city is a coronavirus red zone right now, so I'm not going anywhere where people might react, but based on my husband only commenting once as I reached my hand past him quite close to his face (Him: "You smell nice."), I don't think it has a very strong sillage.

I love this one but I haven't tried this version. I had the original with the nave on the bottle. Gorgeous. Some of the "Reminds Me Of" suggestions above have me like 🤔. This smells nothing like Organza Indecence. That one is a scratchy cinnamon that I used to adore but I'm not a fan of anymore. There's nothing scratchy in Boyfriend. Elie Saab Intense...I own that, again, they're not even the slightest bit similar. Boyfriend smells like nothing I've ever smelled before. If I had to say what it reminds me of, I'd say Chloe Nomade Absolue. It's got that same sweet yet masculine leaning vibe. Oh and don't pay the crazy prices you're seeing on eBay, etc. Google Kate Walsh Boyfriend perfume, get on the website and sign up for the text messages. I get texts all the time for 20-50% off, etc. Even without a discount the price isn't too bad.

I do not buy celebrity fragrances infact I'm completely against it! I received a sample of the original released version in a trade. I didn't even know it was a celebrity perfume. It was gorgeous and I had to have it!!! It has this cinnamon, vanilla, myrrh and amber notes that is incredibly sexy! I heard about a difference in the scent from the newer released version compared to the older one. I sprayed one wrist with my original sample and one with the new bottle. The original is a little bit heavier but the scent is completely still there. I'll see how long they last compared to each other. The scent is still the same which im ecstatic about!!! Love this perfume

Got mine today, finally! I will admit that I don't have the original to compare - so working for memory. This is a nice, cozy, vanilla perfume. Not as complex - I do not detect most of the notes: jasmine, lily (in the original),or plum. Nice, but maybe not that special. I believe the original was supposed to smell as though one is wearing the remnants of their boyfriend's cologne the next morning. I don't get that - this is more feminine. If you want that effect, I highly recommend SJP's Stash!! I guess I hoped that Boyfriend was a bit spicier and more complex. I will pull this out when I want something cozy and warm.

I've been re-obsessed with this frag recently cause I've been on a bunch of dates and have been craving a sexy grown up vanilla fragrance. Once the boozy plum notes dry off (under an hour) it turns in the mostttttt gorgeous luxe breezy vanilla ever!!!!!! One of my favorite vanillas in my huge collection. I spray on all my clothes in my closet and it's amazing getting random whiffs throughout the day. Funny story was that I got the sample of this, and the minute I sprayed it my bf stormed out of his office demanding to know what the smell was. He went back in his office and got me the full size without telling me :)

“Boyfriend “ is such a beautiful, soft and sexy yet bold fragrance and is definitely worthy of a signature scent. It’s filled a certain void among my modern fragrances but I was unable to put my finger on exactly where the void was located until several wears of “Boyfriend.” It has a hint of masculinity with some traces of liquor and spicy woods.I can see why some may lean toward unisex but, to me, it’s still quite feminine. It’s definitely up for nomination as my potentially new signature scent. It even has great longevity and good silliage! Obviously, I’m in love! Or is it a crush??? To be determined......

I have to say....this IS a reformulation for sure. The depth from the original is....GONE. The blend of notes is sort of mixed up, IMHO. The first spray goes on very promising....then it goes..."flat". The projection and sillage,on me, is very low...sigh...sigh...becomes a skin scent rather too quickly...boo-hiss !! The bottle/spray/cap ...generic. I prefer the previous bottle with all the names on it...that was cool. For the price....$65...you can better spend your $$$ elsewhere....sorry...This is just another "mainstream" scent...not really "special".

This, on my skin has a very Tom Ford for Men, and even Black Orchid vibe and especially dry down! I would say this should actually be marketed as a Man's fragrance, that women should borrow and steal :) This is beyond unisex, as there is nothing traditionally "feminine" about Boyfriend! It is balsamic and the vanilla is very subdued and not sweet! Longevity and sillage are not great at all, but this is a wonderful scent to wear around the house, VERY office friendly, going to a movie or maybe running some errands with friends!

I have the 2018 version and I get strong myrrh in the beginning with a mix of the spicy plum and then on me, it settles into a musky amber vanilla. Even though I consider it a comfortable scent, it is still sexy, a little mysterious and completely unisex. Great in colder weather. I have to say that the company (boyfriendperfume.com) ran a special 2 for 1 and I had just ordered a half hour before the special started running. The company honored the special for me anyway, so big thanks to them for such great customer service.

I generously received a sample of this from olgaolga 18, thank you so much!...and I love it. This is such a creamy, tender amber. So soft and likeable and easy to wear and also special and wow, you just get lost in it smelling it. Very classy and charming. It's a borderline gourmand scent! I don't mind the soft sillage, I think it kind of contributes to the nature of this scent. It's more like a whisper and a breeze, not an opulent perfume to march with. Really gorgeous <3

So it took me a while to come around to Boyfriend, but now I absolutely love it. The opening for me is myrrh heavy, with tart plum taking the background. I think the medicinal aspect of the myrrh turns some people off. My favorite part is the dry down. The myrrh backs way down, and you're left with a cozy cozy vanilla. Not a foodie vanilla, but a warm golden amber vanilla. The woods comes through, but that warm vanilla is the star for me. Love it!

One of my favorites that I have in my rotation! I used to have the OG Boyfriend back from 2010-ish, and was very sad when it was discontinued. When it re-released, I knew I needed to get it again. I have a full bottle and have gone through a couple rollerballs for travel. It is a slightly masculine scent, but it's supposed to be like you're wearing your boyfriend: warm, woody, and a little sweet.

Unlike anything else in my entire collection, which is nice, because sometimes you've gotta mix it up! Not the same as the original, as others have said. Not as strong, which is a shame. But it will bring a new style of fragrance to your library if you're looking for a new comfortable scent that's a bit naughty without being overt. It sure beats out SJP Stash in terms of... everything.

This is my new signature scent in the same family as Grand Soir. Warm, sexy, cozy, woody. Amber, myrrh and plum are the main players here with vanillic nuance providing some sweetness. You are sitting by the campfire wearing your boyfriend's favorite flannel shirt. You get his scent all over you with smoke from the fire included. This isn't just a scent it's a sweet memory. Obsessed.

I absolutely adore this! I'm so happy Kate Walsh brought it back to those of us addicted to it. In my opinion it smells just like it used to and on my skin lasts HOURS! The plum and myrrh notes lead the show deliciously. Not only wonderful in colder temps, it blooms beautifully in the heat. I kid you not when I say I have actually had people follow me to find out what I'm wearing!

I will come back and flesh this out more fully later, but I just want to say that I have been looking for and missing my Givenchy Organza Indecence, for years. Today, I was thrilled to find a veeeeery close dupe in Kate Walsh Boyfriend. This stuff is SULTRY. And warm. And inviting! A spray of this on a warm summer night is an invitation to play and I am ALL IN.

Boyfriend is a cozy-sexy blend of spiced plum jam, dry wood, and myrrh melting into vanilla amber. The sweet, fruity, feminine notes are perfectly balanced by the more masculine resins and wood. It is a comforting hug, like your significant other wrapping you up in their coat on a cool, romantic evening. Unfortunately, this doesn't last super long on me.

This is a truly beautiful fragrance, definitely capable of becoming a signature for me. It's deep and warm and sensual, resinous and woody, and a little bit sweet, and the myrrh is just sooo posh. This one smells expensive and the longevity is magnificent. My partner loves it, and it’s drawn compliments in queue at the store. Worth every penny.

As a man I love this fragrance the dark plum, myrrh and jasmine work fantastic. Surprisingly well blended for a celebrity fragrance. It bounces off my skin and last all day for me. Men shouldn't shy away from wearing this. Boyfriend has turned many hugs into longer embraces, with comments like "MmmmMmmm.. God you smell fantastic"

Boyfriend by Kate Walsh is not as bold as some of my other amber forward scents, that's also what makes this such an easy reach. This perfume is a surprisingly complex spiced woody composition that remains light throughout as it wraps you in a soft dry-down that retains its breezy amber notes. This Boyfriend is a keeper!

So pretty and perfect for colder months. Really cozy woody amber fragrance. Smells a lot like Adam Levine for women and Bon Parfumer 301 to me. Better though! Myrrh is one of my favorite notes and very prominent here.

I really like this! boozy and amber forward opening with incense that evolves into something more complex with sweetness from the fruit, and even a bit fresh and floral from the jasmine. Even though vanilla notes are listed, it's relatively subtle on my skin until it's fully dried down and has been on my skin for several hours, which i like bc the market (and my personal collection) is constantly being saturated with straightforward vanilla scents. Boyfriend is definitely a sexy crowd pleaser while still being very interesting. The price point is pretty unbeatable as well, and that's not even considering they were just doing a full bottle bogo sale! Celeb fragrances have a tendency to be hit or miss and/or overly focused on fads, but i think Kate Walsh did the perfume world justice by putting something out that is timeless and unique. i think i will eventually treat myself to a full bottle once the cooler months start rolling around and i would be interested in trying the other Boyfriends in her collection.

Let's just say...this "Boyfriend" dumped me. Worry not, I have resisted the urge to include the many sub-par relationship puns that came to mind while reflecting on this EDP. The notes appeal so strongly to me, as does the almost insouciant "Boyfriend" titling. When I spray this on a test paper, the jammy plum and spicy amber meld so well with the woodsy vanilla. Such a cozy and sweetly comforting fragrance. But alas... When I spray this on my skin, the scent turns to Play Doh meets powdery dark fruit...something that tends to happen quite often for me. All the lovely nuances of Boyfriend are eaten up by my skin, leaving unwelcome traces that fortunately linger for a very short time. Maybe with the right moisturizer and temperature, this will behave more agreeably on my skin. This is a lovely fragrance that just doesn't want to love me back. Wrong chemistry. Better on paper. It's me, not you.

This is such a decadently sweet amber that instantly transports me back to the holiday season. On initial spray, you get the slight tanginess from plum mixed with vanilla sweetened amber. Soon after, the plum fades and I am left with a very unisex amber fragrance that is lightly spiced and reminiscent of Christmas desserts. My favorite part is the creamy vanilla that runs in the background throughout the wear of the fragrance. On the dry down, the woody aspects start to become more obvious. In my opinion, the dry down is more masculine than the opening. Something about this scent profile reminds me of the dry down of Dior Addict. To make other comparisons, I find this to be a creamy, sweeter, more feminine take on Grand Soir by MFK. However, in my humble opinion, this one is much more addictive!

I had the privilege of working for a pop up for this brand years ago, and they gifted us all with a full set of every product they offer, so let me give the run down! I used up the roll on oil way too quickly and I’ve been meaning to get another one ever since. I still have my bottle of the EDP, and while I still love it, it’s definitely better as an oil. I think it leans more masculine in oil form, while the EDP initially leans feminine. Of course, the EDP lasts a lot longer, and feels a lot brighter, so I don’t wear it quite as often. But I adore the dark sweetness of it. It reminds be a little bit of Mugler Angel, which was one of the first fragrances that I HAD to have when I smelled it in Macy’s in middle school!

I didn't know about this fragrance when it first came out in 2010, but I knew I had to try it when I read it was being re-launched. The description seemed right up my alley so I ordered a pulse point rollerball. I get mostly plum and myrrh in the beginning which has a unisex vibe. I really didn't detect any jasmine. As the fragrance dries down, the vanilla emerges making the scent much sweeter. Overall, it's warm, sweet, and balsamic. I wish the sillage was a little stronger, but it's a pleasant and comforting fragrance that I will enjoy wearing this fall.

I missed Boyfriend the first time around, so I can't compare different formulations. I find the 2018 version to be a solid fall/winter all-rounder that is easy to wear and enjoyable to sniff on my wrists throughout the day. Boyfriend is a nice plummy amber with a vanilla heart. There is a hint of woods and myrrh which keeps the sweetness in check. I get decent performance (lasts a long time on fabric) and moderate projection. Cozy and comforting, maybe not a show-stopper, but Boyfriend always gets compliments.

I've never smelled the original version, but this smells unisex to me. it's a good mix of amber, woods and maybe a bit boozy. This absolutely smells like another perfume I've smelled before but I cannot remember what it was!! This one is nice is you like amber scents. On the Kate Walsh Boyfriend website there are two more scents that aren't in fragrantica - the names are cringe-worthy but they smell pretty good and they sell samples so if you like this one, go check the other two out.

Wearing the 2018 EDP, my first attempt and this Boyfriend version is smooth and easy (I’ll resist making silly puns here). Vanilla with jasmine upfront, then benzoin and myrrh. Boyfriend is not the most challenging or unusual scent, but it’s a crowd pleaser. My bestie wears this scent, and I liked it so much on her that I wanted a bottle for myself. Leans kind of thick and heavy, best for cooler weather. Bought this for a steal on eBay, $25 for 50ml in the original box.

This is lovely and not too masculine for my tastes. I think it is very unisex. It's very warm and sweet but not gourmand-sweet. Warm and balsamic. I can't compare it to the original because all my sample buying efforts were met with perfume that smelled expired but I do love this one. Try spraying it on your pillow! It lasts for days and smells even better the next day. On skin it lasts 5+ hours and I can't stop sniffing my arm while it's there. Beautiful!

You're standing near a couple. She tosses her hair and you get a whiff of her perfume. He moves closer to his girlfriend and puts his arm around her. You can smell his cologne. The scents mingle pleasantly. That's what Boyfriend smells like to me. I like it, but not enough to stand near this couple all day.

Beautiful, warm vanilla amber scent with a slight masculine edge. Feels like being wrapped up. Reminds me of Eau Duelle. Longevity is lacking however.

I wanted to love Boyfriend; it has great reviews here, and honestly there is a lot to love about it. It opens plummy and jammy, balsamic to the point of being bitter. It was so sharp at first I thought I didn't care for it, but I found myself going back for more of that delicious blackberry jam-like smell. Then, as it mellows, it starts to smell a bit like sandalwood, but smoky, with an elusive hint of vanilla, and the amber comes through. It's intriguing and I understand why people like it. It's warm, soft, and cozy, like a burgundy colored cashmere sweater, yet the woody tones read unisex enough that I wouldn't think twice at an androgynous or male presenting person wearing it. Unfortunately, even a single spray of this perfume gives me an immediate head-splitting migraine and, after it sits on my skin for a bit, it gets the metallic scent I associate with lower quality fragrance oils. This one does not work for me. This is a shame as I now have an entire unopened bottle of this lovely fragrance that I absolutely can not use. ETA: If, like me, you are scent sensitive, the roll on oil seems to cause less of reaction, possibly because it comes on a lot less strong. You lose most of the fruity open and are left with a woody, amber vanilla. I like it because it reminds me of a fragrance oil called Vanilla Noir that I used to get on Etsy in my twenties. However, you lose a lot of the complexity. There is no journey here, what you see is what you get.

I love all the listed notes, but when I tried this there was an undertone of something slightly animalic that I did not like. The amber/vanilla is also thick and linear. It maybe needs a stronger benzoin note to break it up. The plum is not distinct, it just adds a general sweetness. All in all not a terrible fragrance but the quality is lacking.

I will keep this short and sweet...a very unsuccessful blind buy. In my opinion it is too masculine. It is a man's scent. I will probably end up giving it to my son. I guess different strokes for different folks...lol

Have a 2ml sample. I get frankincense in this. Is that different from myrrh? This is a bit too masculine for me. Too amber-y, too incensey. Too heavy and flat for my taste.

I tried the EDT vs EDP. Apparently the EDT is new (2022). I love the original and had high hopes. I didn't expect it to be exactly the same, but it wasn't even recognizable as the same scent in any way. It smelled like an old bottle of Avon perfume from anywhere from the 1960's to 1990's that went bad. It's not just that it's a "mature" scent remescent of "older" women from that era. That's not the same thing or what I mean. If you're 35 or so and older, you likely had a mom, gran or auntie who had a bottle of an Avon perfume somewhere or you used at some point yourself from say the 1960's to 1990's or so. Avon scents back then weren't always everyone's cup of tea. The EDT (not EDP, that I haven't tried yet) has that same sickening underlying "perfumy" note of sharp alcohol that over the years I only smelled in Avon perfumes from that era. I can't recall smelling it in the original (or I would have hated it) or anything in recent years. Then it gets worse. If you remember those Avon bottles from those years, you'll also remember how horrific and disgusting it was when one went bad or got to the bottom of the bottle (or evaporated out). The sharp, harsh, metallic, perfumey-hairspray scent that all the Avon bottles had at that point, even if they smelled very different before they went bad. Even if you liked it before it went bad, it was horrific. I contacted customer service repeatedly and they were no help. They assured me it's fine and a new batch and told me that many of us compare the original to the new version. That's not what I meant, this smells like rancid gone bad old Avon perfume. It also (EDT) does not bear any resmbeliance to the original at all. I don't know if the EDP does since I haven't tried it. I let the bottle sit a few days. Tried it on skin, hair, clothes on different days, cleared the sprayer with a few sprays in the air. It didn't get better. I was worried my nose was off (or that I had COVID, which I didn't) and tried fragrances I normally wear and my nose was fine and not off. The original Boyfriend was a rare gem, it was supurb. I love fragrance and am not new at comparing scents, I know that reformulations smell different. This was not just that, it smelled rancid. I have a lot of respect for the original Boyfriend. And I think Kate Walsh is lovely and talented and respect her too. It pains me to have to say this about the new EDT. However...it is still possible I got a bad bottle even if customer service says otherwise. I'm curious on the EDT (not EDP) if others will find they did too. I thought about throwing it away it was so bad. I wouldn't dream of giving it to anyone it's that bad no one in their right mind could wear it or stand it. I can't return it either. I reboxed it, put it in my closed perfume closet (away from light, mositure) shelf back in the box. Maybe in time it will settle, but I think it will be worse. This was one of the worst and most disappointing perfume purchases in years. I should have bought a sample, but they assured us it was close to the original-mine was not remotely close in any way.

Saw an Instagram ad for a free sample, so I ordered. This is very heavy on the plum for me. At first spray, I get plum and spices. Then, it dries down to plum and vanilla. Fairly quickly, it fades to a faint vanilla. I loved that Boyfriend has all of the "supporting players"...like lotion, candles, and even a car fragrance. Sadly, not a love.

You have to like amber to enjoy this. If you’re not a fan of amber then forget it because it is very amber forward. In the mid I get a heavy dose of spicy/smokiness along with the amber and myrrh. It makes me think of the way a perfumed shirt would smell after it was worn next to a campfire while making s’mores with cinnamon graham crackers. The dry down is so excellent. Very smooth and the myrrh starts to go powdery/masculine. The spices and the amber are muted and everything just smells so smooth and divine. In the dry down, it definitely leans more unisex but still perfectly complimentary on a woman. It’s like a spicy ambery version of your skin but better, at least on my own skin. I’m actually surprised in the reviews I’ve read, I didn’t see people mentioning the smokiness. It literally is giving campfire/wood burning stove vibes. Maybe it’s my skin chemistry. The longevity for me was a bit below average and the sillage was also a bit closer to the skin on me. I think it’s meant to be a bit more intimate but it could be my dry skin not radiating the scent much. I really enjoyed this after struggling the first few minutes with it being an amber bomb. Overall, I would rate this a 7.5 out of 10.

I have been sparingly using the bottle I have from the original batch 2010 or 2011 purchased at Sephora. Every now and then when visiting Sephora I ask about this scent, and if it’s coming back. To my surprise a few weeks ago, the women working the perfume section told me yes it’s back just not through Sephora. I found the site, messaged them asking a bunch of questions. Convinced it was the real deal I purchased 2 bottles $65.00 each and the pulse point roll on $22.00. I was so excited when first trying it, it smelled almost identical just a little milder than the previous version. To my disappointment it just doesn’t having the staying power as the original. I tried one on each wrist and the 2018 version was barely detectable after an hour or so. The pulse point smells nothing at all like Boyfriend let alone anything else, and it is extremely oily. My fault for being too over zealous. I am glad I still have a little of the original I can mix with the new version to make it last a little longer.

I love this! I ordered the free sample set (you pay for shipping), and when I first put it on, it was an instant Oh Wow!! And that’s rare for me. It actually wasn’t what I expected based on reviews, either. I read a lot about it being all about vanilla, but to me, it is tobacco (the yummy smelling kind like in a pipe, before it’s burned), and a little booziness...and some vanilla. I do get the hint of myrrh, too. It’s sexy to me. I think it could be unisex. Of the perfumes I own, it reminds me most of Adam Levine for her, which I adore (and my husband and I share it). But it’s not a dupe. Boyfriend is sweeter and has that tobacco/boozy quality that Adam Levine doesn’t have. Also, the body cream sample that came with it is absolutely luscious! Rich and creamy...very high-end feeling. They are great together and I will buy both as soon as my little perfume budget allows. ;)

This is beautiful. (I am referring to the new 2018 formulation. I never sniffed old so I am offering an unbiased opinion.) It opens up like Casmir from Chopard. It's powdery sweet vanilla like that but not a dupe for Casmir. More like a sister. It starts to settle and it definitely has its own personality. The plum, myrrh and amber begin to shine. The vanilla never leaves. It stays pretty linear from there only becoming softer and the amber smoothing and lingering until the last sniff. Appropriate for cold weather, sweaters and hot coco. It's cozy for sure. If you like Casmir, Hanae Mori then this is a very safe blind buy.

Quite some time ago a friend sent me a sample of this perfume because she really loved it and we like a lot of the same perfumes. I tested it right away but it just turned me off a bit. I stuck it away and then yesterday while doing a big clean up of my closet spaces I ran across it so I sprayed a bit on my arm. Okay now I may go back and wear this. I think I "get it" and yes I can see where someone like me who loved Organza Indecence and Tomorrow and those kinds of scents would also like this one. This is why we revisit fragrances, especially ones we thought we didn't care for!

After purging the old and ramping up with new I realized that my perfume collection was missing this delicious scent and I require a full 50 ml. Am purchasing now. If you enjoy a deliciously rich, truly warm and cozy, woody/ambery woman's fragrance that won't upset your budget this may just be for you. What with a matching scent candle, hand creme, room spray and car freshener you can enjoy this Mmmm... [literally] everywhere you want to.

My ultimate comfort fragrance. I have back-up bottles on hand because the scent and the feelings they give me are precious! For me, this is a comforting vanilla/myrrh/vanilla/musk. The plum and the jasmine are faint, but round out the fragrance with a fullness I would miss if it was gone. I feel like myself when I wear it, and I’m so thankful Kate brought it back and continues to produce it. I wear this in every season.

Wore this for Halloween and was asked by three men and one woman what I was wearing. I can’t remember if I ever reviewed the original but this is close. Patchouli is strong in the opening but fades letting a soft, spiced vanilla take its place. It’s a crowd pleaser and unisex. I have been layering this with all the Cozy Vanilla Bourbon products from BBW and it’s a perfect combination for this time of year.
