Purr

Yum! Beautiful combination of floral and fruity. White florals add a mature touch to this scent. If this wasn’t in a kitty bottle, it would have gone triple platinum across boujee millennials with shag haircuts and patchwork tattoos that work at a hair salon. But obviously, since it's in a cat bottle, it is for me and me only. I do need to douse myself in this, but I really don’t mind because that's part of the fun. Major dent in the bottle since I got it a few days ago though. My nose has gotten so used to it that I really need to dig my nose into my wrist and SNIFF. Everyone else seems to smell it though. Most of the negative comments say, "It smells like shampoo! It smells too juvenile! It smells cheap!" I looked at those and thought to myself, "perfect." and immediately bought it. This really isn’t too fruity. It's certainly reminiscent of the early 2010's, but it's surprisingly mature for being marketed towards a younger audience. Sillage radiates within 6 feet or so, and the longevity is pretty good, I’d say 5 hours or so. Would need minor reapplication though. It can be pretty cloying if you spray too much, so spray more than you would for a better quality perfume, but not *too* much. A major role in my fragrance selecting process is thinking, "What does this fragrance remind me of?" Something that was a big thing in my childhood was bath time. All kids shampoo and bath products have their own distinct, nostalgic smell. Some smell like straight up apple and they're pretty linear, but it's hard to find other things that match the complexity of, say, Johnson's baby products. This has that complexity without being too childish. It's fitting for a teenager in the 2010's. Nowadays, all teenage girls crave vanilla perfumes. I love a good vanilla perfume, but it isn’t who I am. I’m not simple, but I’d say I’m a crowd pleaser. The only people who judge me are people who are too "normal" and insecure about how many people there are in the world that act just like they do. I have an unsuspecting complex mind, coupled with a deep sense of nostalgia. My memory is an incredibly valuable thing for me, and this brings back some nostalgia for me. It smells fresh, clean, and fruity. Not too sugary and sweet.

"Gardenia Noire" magic! This violet-gardenia beauty opens with a burst of sweet fruity-coconut and dries down into a creamy gardenia scent. The mix of fruit overlaying the gardenia strongly gives an overall impression of violet to my nose. Hearkens to mind the black and white film, 'The Mask of Zoro' from 1940 set in Nueva California with Tyrone Powers and Linda Darnell. This is the scent I imagine Linda Darnell would have worn with velvety gardenias in her hair - the romantic counterpoint to the Black Dahlia. Comparison to Meow Katy Perry: These are twins in a way, with Purr being the violet-gardenia (Gardenia Noire), and Meow being the orange blossom/citrus-gardenia (Gardenia Blanche). Also, Meow is a little sweeter and a little more powdery marshmallow to my nose. Comparison to Yara Lattafa: These are different scents, but comparable. Yara has been compared to a 'strawberry milkshake', and Purr would be the violet milkshake by comparison. 'Milkshake' may be a bit misleading however, although the gardenia gives a creaminess this is more a heady floral than gourmand, with a faint sun-tan vibe from the gardenia-coconut. Comparison to Pink Brilliance English Laundry: These are different scents again, but comparable. Pink Brilliance having more rose than violet overlaying the creamy gardenia. Overall: above average performance from one week after first sprays. This isn't a scent you need to spray and store for 6 months although in the first few sprays/week I couldn't smell much other than the fruity opening. Great value.

A vanilla fruity floral which to my untrained nose, smells like 'Vanilla Coke a Cola' (Dr pepper, Coke, Pepsi) with a hint of 'Sarsaparilla'. Not overly sweet, nor sparkly or effervescent but smooth, creamy, vanillic and slightly fluffy as if the soda had gone flat and a small scoop of vanilla ice-cream had been added. Which is strangely comforting to me because as children, my sister and I would add a little 'Coke a Cola' to tall glasses and top them up with vanilla ice-cream. We'd continually sip down the cola and keep adding more and more ice-cream until there was more ice-cream than soda in our glasses. I'm indifferent to Katy Perry, I gravitated towards the bottle because I love cats. And I don't care if it's considered juvenile and aimed at a teen market, I simply love the juice! So much so, when I discovered it was being discontinued, I purchased backups and a bottle of its sister fragrance Meow just for keeps as it smells pleasant enough. Overall, a quick and easy grab and go with casual wear, running errands, gym, walking my dogs etc. And where I live in Australia, can be worn wear year-round. It's completely inoffensive and SO cheap I don't mind at all having to respray if necessary. And I'm not fussed about lack of silage as I wear this scent purely for my own enjoyment :)

I got another one of these bottles and you know what I still love this and i'm getting another Meow...this smells in the opening of fresh citrus with gardenia, peach, and musk and then as it gets from tops to mids you smell the bamboo, apple and rose. Eventually it goes to the bottom notes and you get this lovely vanilla like slight pudding vanilla or fuzzy vanilla with the bamboo, fruits and coconuts..i love this one.. because it smells so unique and different with the bamboo...i'm not much into fruity fragrances unless they are done right..and in this case this one is simple but done very right and it's girly, youthful and fun. The bottle is so beautiful..one of my favorites and the meow even more but the purple cat looks so fancy..oh I love it..my only grip is it doesn't really last long probably 3-4 hours and sometimes pushing 5-6 hours but you can always respray. Purr is unique enough for me to own as a collector and very affordable..i don't think there has been one collector who hasn't owned this at least at one point in their life..if not then then Meow certainly...Your daughter will love this too..i'm eventually getting my daughter another one again cause she wants one..it brings smiles on your face and if it does that and smells good i'm more than satisfied..

Purr is a great fragrance, much more sophisticated and complicated that the cat bottle implies. On first spray it is a bit strong, it screams PERFUME to my nose. After about a minute it settles down and I get tons of lovely fruit with soft florals and a bit of sweetness to match the fruits. It's enveloped in a creamy musky soft layer that I find very relaxing. Over time it fades but it remains a lovely soft sweet musky floral scent. I wear this to bed and I can still smell it 8 hours later. It lasts longer on skin than on paper for me. I have trouble picking out individual notes for this. It has some old-fashioned floral perfume notes and some modern fruity sweet notes. If you're a fan of some particular note like coconut or apple or whatever this might not scratch your itch. When I first tried it I thought it was a bit weird, it didn't grab me. After smelling the full dry-down I was more interested. Trying it on skin convinced me I liked it. This one is quite different to Katy Perry Meow. I would not expect to like this one just because you like Meow. I personally find Meow inoffensive but boring, more the typical celebrity perfume scent.

This used to only work on me in cold weather. I used up my whole fb this winter trying to get to the ooak beauty i knew it was. Well i bought a new fb and decided to try it now in warmer weather and it is back to its beautiful self once again! This is one of my absolute faves of all time! Its in my top 5. Its a juicy sweet sultry blend of florals fruits and creamy musk. It projects well and the sillage is light but its there. Im over the moon in love with life when im wearing this because the fragrance is so very well done, i just cant say enough to explain how truly beautiful this perfume is. Its in mytop 5 and ill never be without a bottle of this. I wish i could find a dry oil of purr with matching body powder but i dont see any of the oil makers carrying this and its hard enough finding the purr lotion. This is a star fragrance, makes me happy to be alive just to experience this lovely enchanting fragrance. Mmm its delicious and delightful! Its the floral sweetness too not the sickly trying too hard to be sweet kind. Most perfumes smell horrible on me so when i find one that works i am thrilled to tell everyone!

Purr is a nicely-blended, fruity-floral treat! A little peachy, a little coconutty, and deliciously sweet, with a lot of gardenia and a hint of something green. Both the sillage and longevity are pretty decent, especially for something so cute and inexpensive. I used to prefer Meow back when these were new, since it smells more dessert-like, but Purr has really grown on me over the years. And the thing that I absolutely love about it, aside from the delightfully purple kitty bottle, is that it smells nice with sunscreen. You'd think that wouldn't matter, but it does to me - I'm the kind of person who can't be without sunscreen in the summer sun for more than 5 minutes before the burn starts. But I still want to be outside when it's warm! So while I want to spritz on some perfume that matches the weather (don't we all?), I also have to wear sunscreen so I don't roast. I'm thinking it must be due to the coconut in the base, because mixing Purr with sunscreen creates this wonderful scent that, to me, perfectly embodies a joyful summer day. Or spring - it's perfect then, too!

This was my signature for six years and it probably still would have been, but learning of its discontinuation forced me to start looking for another cat-themed fragrance to love. Although I ended up finding several (finally and belatedly getting around to trying and falling in love with Meow as well in the process!), I can't help but still adore the one that restarted me on my perfume journey. Purr doesn't seem to get as much love as Meow does, since it leans so much more strongly floral than gourmand, but I still can't get enough of the lush gardenia and jasmine bouquet it features. That white floral heart is flavored with peach and vanilla, dusted with sweet powder, and topped off with a light sprinkle of coconut shavings. An easy-to-wear, any-occasion, pretty and inoffensive feminine scent. It was never intended to win any awards for originality or singularity. It was meant to make people happy with its cute name and bottle and light, fresh fragrance. It does that for me very well.

on first spray it smells like acrylic paint, but this is such a beautiful fragrance nonetheless. you have to patient with this one and let it evolve on your skin. it goes from fresh fruity floral to coconutty, deep sultriness. kind of like a vanilla shampoo-flavored cake (if that makes sense lol). so cozy and warm, but fresh at the same time... i don't know how they achieved this, but they did. not extravagant nor hyper-unique, but a very beautiful scent that's suitable for all ages. update: i am seriously considering ordering backups lol. this stuff is amazing. so so so good. although i did blind buy it i dont necessarily recommend you do so as it's very particular, i'm lucky i love it as much as i do. but if you love sweet warm fruity scents that aren't TOO sweet, this is most definitely for you.

This scent will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first perfume I ever received. my dad bought it for me when I was 7 years old and the scent of this is magical to me for that reason, so I will try to be as non-biased as I can be. This is very fruity and dare I say aquatic? I think that yes, this is sweet, with a 'celebrity fragrance' core, making it smell like a lot of other perfumes while still holding its own. It's very inoffensive but not as good as meow if I'm being honest. I love this fragrance personally and can smell vanilla and sweetness and fruits and florals, but you must try this for yourself. the sillage in this is good as well as longevity, especially when this was only 20 dollars AUD. the bottle is SO CUTE and looks so cute on my shelf next to meow!

This is my absolute favorite, affordable, everyday perfume! I love the softness the sandalwood and musk bring to this. It’s definitely a little sharp when first sprayed but after like 10 seconds I start to get the sweetness of the peach and apple mixed with the floral jasmine and freesia. The spiciness and powdery note of the sandalwood is evident from start to finish but it really comes through after it starts to dry down. For me this lasts all day on my skin and especially on my clothes. It’s a solid everyday, signature scent. I have to over spray a bit to get it to project like I want, but because it’s so cheap I truly don’t mind! This is one I will always have in my collection!

Purr is elegant and soft, definitely not a strong or overpowering. I’d even call it quiet, but in a very intentional, pleasant way. This is the kind of perfume that stays close to the skin and never overwhelms, making it an incredibly safe choice for almost any situation. It opens with a gentle, fruity, sugary plum note, even though I know it’s technically peach. It has that same smooth, slightly juicy feel. The floral aspect is present but very light, more of a soft backdrop than a bouquet. Overall, it’s refined, understated, and easy to wear. If you’re looking for something delicate, versatile, and quietly pretty, Purr fits that role beautifully.

OMFG my preconceptions about this perfume could not have been more wrong! 😳😳😳 I bought this thinking it's a teenage scent and it'll be a synthetic, boozey-fruit, too sweet, generic perfume but HOOOOLLLLLLY SHEET! This is boozey at first sniff yes but then it immediately evolves into a photorealistic Jasmine forward floral masterpiece! With a wisp of a caramel-like undertone, this perfume is effing goooood! Easily a daily scent, flirtatious and sophisticated in spite of the newness of this batch. Can you imagine how good this will be next year? 8/10 This could be my last perfume purchase and I wouldn't lament. ♥️👍 But it fades so fast

The opening of this was so horrible I thought I got a bad bottle. But then after awhile, I started smelling the sweet soft beautiful notes and it was a huge relief because I don’t like wasting money on blind buys. Well, I already told myself that irregardless of the juice, i’d still buy this for the bottle alone which is freaking cute! Now I have to get Meow so they will look cute together side by side. There is something about this scent that is addicting, i’m just not sure which note is it or it must be the blend itself. The vanilla and coconut here smells creamy and delicious!

I bought it recently because the notes and for the cute kitty shape bottle!(I just Love to collect cute perfume Bottles🐱💖🥹),The kitty head is very fit and don't fall from the bottle like I watched in the past reviews ,so that's very nice! About the perfume at first is fruity of peach and minutes after gets vanilla scent ,It will be last longer If is layered with other Perfume,like lattafa Yara moi, So is good to be as layering,the dry down Hours after smell is like a vanilla with fruity peach with a bit floral shampoo , but again,If is layered gets better; 10/10🐱💖.

My aunt showed me this perfume some days ago and I had to run to the store to get the 75ml flask (That's incredibly cute!) Dears, on my skin it smells just like Ídole AURA! I couldn't believe it!! it got the signature of a super expensive fragance that I personally love. This perfume gives away a vintage feeling for me, powdery but not heavy! It smells fresh and clean, while adding to the scent of flowers. I can't describe it properly-If I close my eyes it feels like I'm standing in the middle of a garden. Super soft and welcoming I Recommend it 100%!

This is my happy fragrance. I love cats, and Katy Perry was the female singer of my teenage years(along with Avril Lavigne, Rihanna and Lady Gaga). Anyways, it has that fruity punch with a hint of vanilla. Whenever I want to feel lively, I wear this fragrance. It's suitable for every season, but I think fruity scents are best for summer (but can be used in the exceptional hot days of spring and fall). It's a pity that it was discontinued. At least, I found that Egeo Bomb Purple from O Boticario is very similar (like 95%). I hope I helped y'all.

A gift. Yeah thanks. First spray reminds me of the floral bouquet perfumes my Mum used to wear when I was a child. Its a nice medium floral, with no rudeness or assault on your senses. Dry down is a pleasant surprise of gardenias, jasmine and orchid. The backbone is vanilla. It sits softly in the background providing strength. Silage is low, but longevity was ok. Bottle is a delight. Reminds me of the 60s mod trend. (No, I wasn't alive then!!!! I'm not THAT old.) Pleasure to have in my collection. Will probably wear it on a summer evening out.

I love this perfume so much. It was the first perfume I ever owned: I got it for christmas when I was 9 or 10 and I wore it to every special occasion: birthdays, christmas parties, distant relatives weddings. I treasured it so much that 12 years later the bottle is still half full! It's such a sweet perfect scent and so nostalgic to me. I know it's objectively not that special but I will never be able to take criticism on it because it means so much to me. It doesn't last at all though haha. Even back then it was gone within half an hour.

This fragrance is good year round. But its February and purr is now heavenly! The coconut comes out in this super cold middle of winter weather and it dances beautifully with the fruits and florals and lasts hours and wafts and envelops you all around... Ohhh ahhhh its so so soooo gooood! Its juicy, sweet, sexy, intoxicating... I love this! Every time i think its a so so fragrance i just put it away and let the molecules readjust to the minnesota weather and after awhile the magic is back!

Takes me back to fall of 2016. I loved it so much and would get compliments back to back. It really lasted on my skin and projected well. I would be able to smell it on my clothes days after while doing laundry. It's one of my best performance perfumes by far. The amber, coconut & gardenia are the most prominent on my skin. I had Meow which I loved as well but didn't last long. I specifically like this more on the colder seasons. *I hope they didn't reformulated it

This was given to me as a gift by a male friend when I was in my twenties for my birthday. I think he got solely because he knew I liked cat stuff lol. Normally I’m very picky about my perfumes and wasn’t sure about Purr at first but it grew on me and now I love it! I have a lot of good memories attached to it. I will say it probably is for a younger crowd. I still wear it now and then at 31, but sometimes I’ll combine it with something to add a bit of maturity.

One of my favorite perfumes ever since i was a kid, mom had gotten it as a gift from her friend and she shared the perfume with me, to this day i still have the perfume with half of the bottle due to me not wanting to use it much ( as it is very expensive for me ). I think it smells amazing, giving me a sense of flowers, peaches, vanilla and it honestly lasts for hours which is the most enjoyable thing of it, one of my favorites perfumes of all time 🧡

Katy Perry's fragrance house has a lot to offer, and her first fragrance is my favorite. I love shampoo type of scents (hello heiress by paris hilton) and this perfume is definitely in my mind a shampoo type scent. It opens with a green and floral haze very quickly followed with fresh apple and peach. The drydown is just the best, it's fresh, fruity, sexy, and a little warm. I can see this working for a lot of people regardless of age.

Purr comes in second after Killer Queen which both can be sitting at the same spot sometimes. Both fragrances are great! The notes that stand out the most in this perfume is PEACH and apple with the hint of florals and light bamboo. When it dries down you will get the delicious coconut vanilla sweetness. It smells powdery throughout which is from the notes of musk. Overall, it is a sexy and mature scent for women.

I didn't think i would like it as much as i do because its sweet, it smells like crayons on me and reminds me of "cool charm tokyo blossom body spray", I dont usually like coconut in a frageance, but this is so mild and smells like actual coconut oil. If i describe emotionally,.. hmm ..It feels like a hug with a bestie when going for a night out. Happy, youthful, playful, fun.

I love all of Katy's perfumes, but I have to admit that this one is lower in the liking scale scale right after Mad potion and Mad Love. It is ok and nice up until the moment I get a resemblance to Veet hair removal wax steeps. Maybe it's just me hahaha but it's ok overall, light, airy, bit sweet and to me the bamboo is in the center of it all.

I always associate "Purr" with a very specific memory and time in my life, when this was one of my first "grown up" perfumes. I still love it years later. I don't wear it often as longevity is minimal, but while it lasts it is beautiful. A fruity, vanilla mix that has a slightly musky base that makes Purr smell a lot more mature than it is.

This is such a cute bottle and the scent gives me major nostalgia. It's definitely not a mature perfume but one I don't mind keeping in my perfume collection when it's on sale. The staple for a preteen girl in the 2010s.

Oh how I LOVE this one. It is absolutely wonderful and so underrated! Much deeper than Meow and more floral. One of my all-time favorites when it comes to celebrity fragrances <3

I bought Purr as a room spray. It’s sweet but not too sweet. It smells like a candy I used to eat when I was a child. Totally affordable and smell lovely.

Very fruity and sweet used to use this in collage as well, very nice sweet scent but in my skin not so long lasting maybe 3-4 hours and thats all.

I really love this fragrance smells so cozy and almost jammy like a jammy coconut biscuit 🍪 last a long time on my skin

Great scent. Has good staying power too. I say go for it! Great price for big bottle. Two thumbs up.

As much as I hate to admit it, and unfortunately not being a fan of Katy Perry (nothing personal.), it seems that celebrity perfumes smell the best on my skin chemistry. I know that a million people can trash this along with others for being "unoriginal" or mass produced, or celebrity (cheap, not complex).. or just something seen to be sold to the masses... That being said... I have had to learn to put down my biases, my prejudice to mass produced stuff I would be embarassed to admit I like... or the array of flirty Kohl's and Victoria Secret Fragrances I love. I have to go with my nose and put on blinders and just see... shock of all shocks.. What actually smells good! So it's a kitty bottle... ok... so it looks like it's for the tween set. So you don't like the bubblegum music. The fact and the bottom line is... this fragrance is lovely. It is not cloying. It is not obnoxious. Who ever did this actually made a sweet pretty flirty perfume, even though it's young. That actually smells nice. (And being sensitive to some fragrances... this one actually does not make me feel sick to smell it!! Which is a BIG plus. :) Time will tell.) Now if you love traditional more mature fragrances, you will hate this. You will curse it to the moon... with all the other obnoxious million celeb fragrances. But if you like soft. If you like sensual... If you like sweet and a little fruity. If you love your boyfriend to say "Mmmmm..." and not keep his nose away from your neck and kisses all over your body.. Well - forget everything and just get it! ;) It's actually very nice. While testing it in the store before I bought it this fall. I stopped some strangers to smell my arm to see if I am crazy. And everyone was like "Oooooh that smells so soft and pretty! What is that?? That is so nice! You should get it!" Katy Perry Purr. ~ If my boyfriend knows who it's by.. he has the aversion I do as well... but if I just spray it for fun. He is all over me. And even though it's soft and sensual it is still appropriate for everyday use. I loved it before I showed it to him, and would wear it for myself anyday regardless. So this is very nice. Personally I think "sexy" fragrances should wisper and lead you in. Not hit you over the head. If you feel sexy about yourself, you don't have to shout it to the world. ;) You will just feel and smell delicious. :) Notes I notice... Yes I smell a very lovely mix of coconut (which is very nice that it's yummy coconut without making you nausious!), I do smell the apple. It is soft and lightly sweet, not sour at all or bright. I am not familiar with what bamboo smells like. So I can't comment on that. On first application it is sweet and light and optimistic. You definately smell a soft fruity floral. On the dry down soft florals.. I didn't realize gardenia was the flower but I definately recognize it now. And it's a soft one. And at the bottom notes... it is such a lovely vanilla soft coconut. This fragrance could potentially give all the flirty yummy Vicky Secret fragrances a run for their money! E.i. Sexy Little Things Noir, Vanilla Lace, or Berry Kiss. If you love these kinds of soft floral sweet fragrances with a touch of Vanilla, Praline, or Amber; You would ADORE this one! I do! :D Katy Perry?! Who Knew?? lol. I want to cringe but I have to say I love this one! :)

This perfume is gorgeous... Or at least WAS gorgeous. My first two bottles were purchased in 2012. They had wonderful silliage. They lasted all day. Sophisticated peachy dream. Despite the tacky "celebrity" fragrance appeal. This was wonderful when it was released. Dark, sultry, peachy, yet not overwhelmingly sweet. I was always asked what I was wearing. Adorable bottle too. Lasted all day and on clothes? Days! I still have this bottle and it smells just as wonderful as it did back then. Fast forward to 2017, Bought another as a spare. Noticed it smelled nothing alike. I assumed it was an old bottle. It didn't have that sophisticated peachy, vanilla, gardenia scent. I thought I may need to purchase a new one. This one smelled cheap, generic didn't last. Smelled NOTHING like the original. Smelled like 1/10 of the original if that. 2020 bought a new bottle, looked for a NEW one. Smelled the same as the 2012 bottle. Tested the 2012 and 2020 side by side. DIFFERENT perfumes. Now I understand reformulations etc but this was ridiculous. SO to anyone new to this fragrance, please know this is not the original scent. I mean they sell it for $17 now. When it was new it cost around $40. Same happened with the original fantasy by Britney. Cost $89-$100 originally and was GORGEOUS. The beginning of gourmand fragrances. Now fantasy $20 and is nothing compared to the original. They probably look all the expensive ingredients out but it wasn't worth it. Why not create an EDT for the cheap $20 versions and EDP for the original? I'm so sad. Try and buy a vintage purr if you can. The new one barely lasts an hour and smells like a cheap $17 perfume that it is. Please bring back a limited edition one for $40 I'll buy it. The original was really unique, sexy and sophisticated. The new version? I can't even describe it. Such a shame! Everyone used to compliment me on it.Now it's just generic, cheap and whatever.

Purr is better suited to relaxed days when you are wearing jeans and a simple shirt and want to feel fresh, feminine, and comfortable. It captures an uncomplicated, carefree mood. Considering its affordable price, versatility, pleasant performance, and cute bottle, I could see myself repurchasing it.

I decided to wear this today for the first time in many years and I'm happy to declare that it still holds up as my favorite celebrity fragrance. It's also the first one I took seriously. The story goes that years ago, I got a small bottle of this for my sister as a Christmas gift. I didn't see her that often, and we had gone to see Katy Perry: Part of Me on one of my visits home. The gift was pretty much a joke, because I knew her style was more Tom Ford. However, she later admitted to me that Purr was pretty darn good! So, I picked up a bottle for myself and she was right! I was impressed. It is very sweet, but is balanced by this beautiful soft, fuzzy warmth. In ten years, I still haven't come across anything that reminds me of it. (unlike Meow, which smells similar to many, many other fragrances) If you want something a little different but not weird, and are getting tired of scents that end up smelling like Viva La Juicy or Cloud, I recommend this! Especially for fall. Before Purr, I turned my nose up at celebrity fragrances, assumed they were all terrible, and bought designer only. How boring. Not anymore. Now I try all kinds, because you never know what will strike your fancy!

Perfect for spring, well blended. I have to 100% agree with previous reviewers as these two pretty much summed up my thoughts: - 'I don't get the coconut scent at all but do get a beautiful floral possibly mixed with the bamboo note and musk' SalinasL - 'voted notes are fairly accurate: peach, vanilla, coconut, but well-blended and none really stand out to me. The apple and fresher notes are in the background keeping things shampoo-ey.' Rumari47 It doesn't smell cheap or synthetic at all but rather mimics spring-oriented floral perfumes from brands like Cacharel or Lancome. On my skin the florals, bamboo and musk really stand out from first spray. The fruits, vanilla and coconut are more complimentary notes. This scent is surprisingly inoffensive with a soapy characteristic. It's not tart sweet, too synthetic or heavy. Yes it has vanilla and coconut but they're both VERY subtle. I believe this perfume is more targeted towards Katy Perry's age demographic: young adults (and up). I am not wowed by it like some other reviewers but I had to give an unbiased review. Also I can see this being very easy to wear anywhere without suffocating anybody, especially OFFICE environment.

I'm going through all my coconut perfumes lately because I'm going through some kind of phase where I feel like smelling like a delicious tropical vacation, which I most assuredly am not. I also read in some semi-reliable outlet that coconut repels mosquitoes, and if this is true I have found my new best friend, and if not I'm going to have to go back to reeking of DEET-free lemon-and-eucalyptus repellent from Repel, which is a highly effective insecticide that smells like a cross between gasoline and heavy-duty kitchen cleaner. Back to Purr, which I'm not sure I have ever reviewed, although I remember being pleasantly surprised that it was nice because I bought it for the bottle (cheap from a discount site). It's especially pretty over cocoa butter body lotion or coconut-scented body creams; I like to amp up the coconut. Sillage is weak to moderate, but that can be a good thing sometimes. Longevity is about average, but you can improve it somewhat by layering with the right moisturizer. I have better perfumes than this, but I don't have that many coconut-forward perfumes, so this is an easy reach for hot weather, especially if that anti-mosquito stuff proves true.

I'm not a huge lover of this but it's relatively safe even for casual wear. It's powdery, it's kind of milky but in a coconut milk sort of way and the freesia + jasmine combo had me stumped trying to figure out what this smells so similar to. I finally remembered, it's Kayali Musk 12 and I HATE that freesia jasmine combo just like I do in this one but at least this one has a mix of notes that I do like alongside it - the vanilla peachy apple powderiness of it is the part that I'm most attracted to about this perfume but it does come off a bit soapy or otherwise shampoo-like and normally I don't mind those type of scents too much but it really needed some sort of huge redemption area for me to make up for the freesia + jasmine that I hate but it just isn't there. Still like it, still wear it, but I don't see any special aspect or redeeming quality in this perfume for me to truly love it, for me it's just a horrid combo (freesia+jasmine) mixed with rather pleasant notes that don't do enough to fully redeem it but does enough to make it wearable and somewhat enjoyable to me. It still says a lot that I can say and rate this as a like despite the freesia and jasmine.

Oh, "Purr" by Katy Perry! How you delight and frighten me. I feel this perfume is mandatory to over-spray. It's such a quintessential typical celebrity scent with its ridiculous almost-sickly sweetness. Hear me out, though: I *like* this almost-sickly sweetness. The peach is the main culprit initially. The red apple is juicy, but not overripe. Gardenia helps this scent ram itself up into your brain. I like the gentle bamboo (or whatever the slightly green note is that tones this down). Your sugar journey continues down its tunnel of tooth-rot with the strong freesia. Freesia is a super-sweet floral, and it's not shy. I honestly don't smell much jasmine or rose. This is freesia's time in the spotlight. The base note is vanilla and coconut hissing it up in a dark alley. My one confusion over the scent is its longevity. It's bipolar. Sometimes, it only lasts 20 minutes. Other times, I smell this 5 hours later. I'm living for this bottle! Dark purple, solidly comforting feel in my hand, crystal eyes, and a cat's head that you rip off to spray yourself with its fluid insides. It's messed up, but I love it! *** Kitty rating: 7/10. Oh my, this is so nice! I love peach scents and I had no idea this had peach in it when I tested it, but I’m not surprised. The peach mixes SO nicely with the bamboo and coconut. There are so many peaches and cream scents and bamboo/coconut scents, but this is the best of all four. I smell all of those notes individually but they’re blended very well and combine perfectly. None of them are so dominating that I can’t get past them. I don’t get a whole lot of vanilla and I’m surprised that is listed as the second note. I smell peach, bamboo, coconut, and then vanilla, which gives it that sweet and creamy touch, but it’s not prominent. This is just the right blend of sweet, tropical, and green. It smells almost like an expensive shampoo but that is definitely not a bad thing. I personally love scents like that. This is definitely one of the better celebrity scents. It is what I wanted Brittney Spears Sunset Fantasy to be. This is so much better for the price. It lasts about 4-6 hours on my skin but over a day on my clothing. I highly recommend this. It is nothing like Meow (which is also nice) if you’ve smelled that one before. Much more unique.

A nice surprise. I bought it mostly because I love cats, and the bottle is so cute--plus, the listed notes sounded pretty good to me. I have been migrainous all day, so I was loath to try a perfume--don't want to make my head hurt worse or start to associate pain with a potentially beloved fragrance--but I got too curious and sprayed a single spray (maybe a spray and a half) on the back of my hand. I didn't like it for the first 20 or 30 seconds--strong alcohol snap, and a kind of cloying grape-candy smell--but it quickly toned down to a sweet violet-powder accord, with pronounced notes of jasmine and coconut. I like the soapy rather than dirty aspect, too. I think you could put this in an unmarked vial, and people would think it was way more expensive than it was. I doubt I would have paid full price for it, especially as a blind buy, but I'm glad I bought the cute kitty bottle; it was worth the price at the perfume distributor on that basis alone! It's a little too fruity to be a vintage powdery scent, but it's not far off during the drydown, which seems to last a good while.

I blind bought this because I love Meow and since Purr is the elder sister of Meow, I thought why not. It is a nice, pleasant fruit scent, a bit musky and I get mostly sweet fruits and the sweet florals. I imagine it as something between fruit drop candy and laundry softener. It is also quite long lasting, I get about 4 to 5 hour, not one with best sillage but people would notice it when I wear this if they are close by. However, for me, it doesn't have a big wow factor or tailored to a certain occasion. I have had this for about a year now but it isn't a scent that I go for often. I don't even reach for it when I am simply home, or when I head to the grocers. Only when I notice it in my cupboard, then I take it out and use it. I don't know why this hasn't attract me much, but by that I do not mean it as a bad fragrance. It is pleasant and like many have said, smells sweet and cosy but it is not wow for my nose.
