Capri in a Bottle Lemon Sugar | 14 Eau de Parfum

Sugary Sweet, vanilla, citrusy, zesty, bright, fruity, powdery, musky, fluffy, feminine, flirty, playful, charming, whimsical, cheerful, joyful, uplifting, vibrant, radiant, tempting, addictive, inviting, cozy, comforting This opens with a very sweet, bright, and zesty lemon. It has a soft tartness to it, and fortunately it doesn’t come across as anything “cleaning product” like. The heart blooms with fresh and clean freesia and sweet raspberry. The dry down is rather surprising, it comes across as a sweet, fluffy, and powdery vanilla marshmallow with a soft touch of musk. The opening is like sweet sugary lemon candy. The dry down is really surprising because it’s quite similar to that of Yum Boujee Marshmallow (my favorite fragrance). YBM does share all of these same notes, although it does have additional notes too. This feels very feminine to me. It feels best suited for the spring and summer, and would make a nice vacation scent if you’re looking for something besides beachy coconut scent. It’s also good for something uplifting if you’re looking for a mood boost. This feels suitable for the majority of occasions including work and/or school. I’m a huge fan of Kayali fragrances! I know that sometimes they’re considered “youthful”, but I’m 37, and I absolutely adore most of them! They really just seem to always fit my tastes! I currently have 18 different fragrances of theirs in my collection! My top 5 faves are Yum Boujee Marshmallow, Vanilla 28, The Wedding Silk Santal, Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar, and Yum Pistachio Gelato. I also really love Maui in a Bottle and Maldives in a Bottle during the summer! I was totally expecting lemon cake from this, but it’s much more like lemon meringue, in the best way possible. What I mean by that is, it doesn’t smell like a bakery and I am actually relieved because cake/cookie/graham cracker notes end up smelling like burnt sugar on me in the worst way possible. This strikes a nice balance between being sugary sweet like candy, fresh citrus, and robust like a dessert. But again, when I say dessert, I do not mean cake by any means — no graham cracker or cookie notes either. The icing on top of the cake, much closer. The meringue inside of the graham cracker crust, also much closer. It’s pretty much a combination of the two, with a very nice hint of freesia in the background. This is definitely similar to Devotion, but I believe the freesia and raspberry are what make it more appealing to me. This is also more complex and exotic. It’s fresher and has less of that syrupy quality going on. I would say that Devotion leans more gourmand due to the addition of panacotta and lack of freesia. Capri has an underlying soapy floral quality, and it’s subtle, but it is just enough to keep it from being TOO gourmand for my personal taste. The lemon in this one is also a little more photorealistic and fresh. Not even in the realm of kitchen cleaner, thank goodness — but it’s got a zestier quality to it. Think vanilla ice cream with lemon zest on top in the beginning, then it blends together and morphs into a lemon sorbet/mousse/meringue type scent. This has better lasting power than the other three in the vacation line-up and it’s more unique too. I’m normally not a gourmand kinda gal, but Kayali does a good job with this type of scent. I also like Boujee Marshmallow and Pistachio Gelato, but I like this more than PG, while not quite as much as BM. It’s fresher but it definitely shares some of the same undertones. Really hoping this isn’t a limited edition because it’s gorgeous.

Sugary Sweet, bright, citrusy, fresh, happy, fun, uplifting, fruity, juicy, clean, cheerful, playful, flirty, creamy, warm, powdery, musky, fluffy, yummy On me this opens with a burst of sweet sugar, bright lemon, fresh raspberry that has just a slightly tart scent, and clean freesia. Once it has dried down the sugary lemon and raspberry gains warm, creamy vanilla, and powdery musk. The overall scent even starts to gain a fluffiness after about 2 hours. I’m surprised that the first 1-2 hours of this reminds me so much of D&G Devotion, but it’s less rich and more light and musky. It even reminds me a little bit of JHAG Not A Perfume because of the musk, especially if it were mixed with Devotion. Actually that’s probably an excellent description of it... Devotion and Not A Perfume combined creating a less rich and more musky and fluffy lemon vanilla scent. Oddly enough though, after about 2 hours it starts gaining a fluffy and musky fruity vanilla scent that slightly reminds me of Yum Boujee Marshmallow. It definitely feels feminine, and suited best for spring and summer. I think it’s probably a pretty safe blind buy, especially if you enjoy lemon fragrances. I get great performance with Capri in a Bottle. The longevity is very good, it lasts throughout the whole day on me. The projection is nice, it radiates out about a couple of feet from me. I also wanted to add that I reviewed these back when I first got the set in June. This one in particular got so much better over time! I never got the sweet and fluffy berry lemon vanilla dry down before, and am still shocked by how much that part reminds me of Yum Boujee Marshmallow (one of my favorite fragrances!).

Capri in a Bottle is a beautiful sugared lemon dream. It captures the scent of lemon perfectly without ever venturing into the territory of cleaning products. Instead, it's a bright, fluffy and sweet citrus that reminds me of the icing on a lemon drizzle cake. The fragrance is fresh, airy, and uplifting, never feeling heavy or cloying. Despite its light and delicate character, I found that the performance is pretty impressive. I was still able to notice it after several hours of wear. This is one I reach for often, especially when I want something sweet, cheerful and easy to wear. It's also a consistent compliment-getter. I think this fragrance is ideal for anyone who loves fresh, sweet, gourmand-inspired citrus fragrances.

Out of all four scents in my vacation sampler, I was least excited to try this one, but it’s my favorite by far. It’s so, so, so good. Bright lemon, fluffy vanilla, and to my nose there’s some marshmallow, too... Capri in a Bottle Lemon Sugar is the Skipper/ little sister to Dolce and Gabbana’s Devotion Barbie/ big sister. Not a bakery lemon at all... more a glass of beautifully whipped lemon mousse with sugar around the rim. I don’t find the projection or sillage great, but that’s okay for me. I know most people have said the longevity is terrible but on my skin it lasts a solid six to eight hours without any fancy prep or layering. Love love love. I am putting a big bottle in my cart immediately.

Now THIS is what I wanted Devotion to be!! This is a beautiful, sweet and sprinkled in sugar lemon cupcake. Another review said lemon marshmallows, I think that's another good description as well. It's not too citrusy or zesty, this has the *perfect* amount of lemon in it. It's not pledge-spray like or cleaner spray like at all. I get the faintest zing of raspberry that keeps things bright and sweet. Super feminine and light and airy for spring and summer. I'm so excited to wear this in the warm weather. This is so beautiful, full bottle worthy! It's been hours since I sprayed just a little on the top of my fingers, and I get more whiffs of this than I do the actual perfume I'm wearing!

I’m usually wary of lemon fragrances because they often remind me of Clorox wipes (I’m looking at you, Under the Lemon Tree), so I was very pleasantly surprised when I first smelled this. As a little kid, I was obsessed with all things lemon flavored, and this smells exactly like lemon candy — the good kind that I’d get from South Korea or Japan. This fragrance smells so nostalgic to me. This is the perfect gourmand for someone who prefers fruity candy over chocolate or pastries. Also, my fragrance hot take is that citrus perfumes bloom really nicely in cold weather. I’m going to be wearing this during the holidays. Lemon candy will be my version of sugar plums.

DIVINE!! Beautiful, soft, sweet fragrance. Smells like a dessert but in the freshest way possible. It is delicate and addicting. The lemon is not sharp and that’s what I like the most about it since lemon tends to turn very sour on me (like cleaning products). I feel like this is super easy to wear if you wanna smell delicious in a clean soft way!! Edit: this is the one I keep reaching for and craving to wear from all the set. I really hope they will make a full size bottle. It's such a soft scent, doesn't project that much but got so many compliments from people who hugged me. Wish I could over spray but since the bottle is so small I'm savoring it.

This perfume is pretty and sweet, but not headache inducingly sweet. On my skin, it starts as a tart lemon scent, quickly turning into a sugared lemon. And then the berry note comes in...the best word to describe it is delicious. My boyfriend says it smells like berries and cream. I love this, and need it in a full size bottle! It kind of reminds me of the Signature Vanillas line from many years ago at Bath and Body Works, both the lemon and berry versions, but less syrupy sweet. Longevity could be better, but overall it's in my top favorite kayali perfumes!

As a gourmand lover, this is my favorite Kayali ever. It's one of the only true sugary lemon gourmands. It really smells like candied lemon and doesn't have any clean or soapy undertones that you might find in fragrances like Devotion, Lira, or Iced Lemon Poundcake (BBW). While the raspberry isn't immediately identifiable, it adds a lovely sweet fruity touch. The musky vanilla elevates the entire scent. It reminds me a lot of Hufflepuff perfume from House of Sillage. I really need this in a 100mL bottle. EDIT : I finally got my big bottle !

I love it!! 😍 my fave from the vacay collection. Lately I’ve been loving lemon gourmand scents, lovely to wear during summer. Dry down is my fave- I can defo smell the sugar, freesia and musk. It’s a lightweight and airy gourmand lemon scent. I don’t really get the raspberry. To me, it’s just like YBM but with lemon instead of strawberry. I luv layering this with Vanilla 28, to add depth, sweetness and some warmth. Need iit in 100ml 😩 i have a few lemon gourmands, this one does stand out amd is one I will reach for a lot in the summer.

One of my absolute favorite scents. If it weren't for the poor longetivity, this would be a lifer. It's a very light, sweet lemon that stays consistent throughout the wear time. There's a hint of white florals depending on the day but it rarely bothers me. I've been on the hunt for something that smells just like this but lasts longer. No luck so far. Hard to Get smells nearly identical but has just as poor longetivity. The other recommendations all smell different or off so unfortunately, for now, the hunt continues.

I was kinda scared about trying a lemon fragrance, tbh turns out I love it. It's light, it's cute, it's special, I just love it. This is a perfume I would wear to a summer birthday party. I don't feel like it's a sexy scent at all, it's just very cute. I'm a healthcare professionnal and I'm always scared that some fragrances may be "too much" to wear at work, I'm not worried about this one though. It's not a scent that will fill up a room. I can smell it, people right next to me could smell it, but that's about it.

I love capri it smells like lemon tarte and candied lemon as well as pineapple I love love love it it’s my favorite, if you like sweet fruity and citrus in perfumes you will like this one it lasts I would say ... 4hours at best on skin and clothes but you have to spray aaa loooot of it , but the smell is so good I will keep buying it, however if you’re looking for a similar perfume but lasts longer I’d recommend dévotion eau de parfum from dolce and gabana it’s scary similar but the sillage and longevity are better

I tried this one out since I saw some comparisons to Lira, which i absolutely love. This is definitely a sister to Lira but with its own personality. The lemon stands out more in Capri, and the florals and raspberry make it a bit brighter and lighter. I get more of the sugar note than vanilla. Lira is the nighttime version, it’s denser and has more of the vanilla. If you have one you probably don’t need the other, but I love them both and happy to have them in my collection. 💛🌟

A refreshing take on a lemon gourmand! Smells like creamy lemon custard with tart candied raspberries on top and whipped vanilla cream. Dry down has a nice fluffy and musky touch with remnants of the sugary notes. In a sea of citrus gourmands, the raspberry makes this unique and refreshingly tart. I love that the lemon isn’t particularly citrusy, just fresh, and feels very softened up by the sugar and musk notes here. Lightwearing, easy going, and perfect for a summer gourmand.

This smells so scrumptious!! Like a lemon loaf that’s topped with powdered sugar. Just the most delectable edible dessert without it being too sour or too sweet. Perfect balance, just airy, feminine and sweet. I would also wear this in the winter because of the lemon cake notes I get. But I put on a hefty amount and honestly 2 hours later you can only smell it a little bit. I absolutely love it but that longevity with that price point, I just can’t justify it.

This scent is an intoxicating summer treat for me. I agree with other reviewers that it is essentially Boujee Marshmellow with lemon on top, but I love BM, and the lemon dessert top notes last longer on me than others. I can still smell the warm, yellow cloud of dopamine at the end of the day. This is my favorite in the Kayali vacay collection. In my heart, I'm on Capri island even though I'm slogging it out doing accounting in a dreary office in Texas. ;-)

I first smelled at the Sephora and thought it was interesting but after I left I couldn’t stop thinking about it! I had to purchase and am so happy I did. This is a warm lucious lemon-sugar that dries down to a creamy lemon musk. My typical complaint with a lot of the sweet Kayali fragrances is that they dry down to a similar generic sweet smell but this maintains its uniqueness. I love this and will be getting a bigger bottle.

I know it’s not listed, but I get such heavy PINEAPPLE notes with this. Which I happen to love, so I’m really happy with it. It’s a sweet, juicy, sugary pineapple with candied lemon dancing in the background, served with a side of rich VANILLA ice cream, drizzled with syrup. If you love gourmands & fruity scents, I don’t see why you wouldn’t love this. It smells so delicious & yummy.

Beautiful lemon scent! I get more sugar than anything, the lemon is very light and fluffy. I love Devotion, but this is way better. Devotion kinda pulls like a lemon cleaner sometimes, this doesn't. Capri is kind of like the lemon version of Yum Boujie Marshmallow to my nose. Like they replaced the strawberry note with lemon. Very light and casual gourmand!

i am currently debating on not eating for a week so i can buy the full bottle of this tomorrow. this is STUNNING. bright, pure lemon, with sugary sweetness that makes you visualize the feeling of biting into a sugar lemon candy. Its clean, fresh, yet sweet and alluring. i have been layering this with other fragrances at work, and it is so versatile.

This scent is so, so good 😍 I wish it came in a bigger bottle! My only concern is the sillage and longevity, which both are way too weak imo. The scent literally smells like a lemon cake with custard and raspberries + some freesia to balance it of with a powdery scent. It is a true gourmand to me and I cant stop smelling my arm when I wear this! 😍

Well this is awkward...I've always avoided Kayali fragrances because I didn't think I was their demographic but my daughter bought Capri In A Bottle and as she knows I love Lira but get frustrated with the performance she got me to try this. A revelation! It's lovely. Sweet, sugary lemon gourmand. It's really fun so I bought a bottle. Converted!

Love it❤️ I don't smell raspberry in it at all, for me it's lemony then caramel+vanilla. It's not a super long lasting scent for me, 5-6 hours on my hair, but it's so cheerful, feminine and comforting that I don't mind reapplying it. It's light and inoffensive, perfect for hot summer and spring months.

perfume that actually smells like its name. trust it whan it says sugary lemon, it's actually crazy how much it smells like that. it just makes you smell fresh and.... edible i feel like if someone passed by you smelling like this on a hot summer day, the would probably want to eat you.

I got a new bottle this week. Not as strong and not identical to the one I had when it first came out in the limited edition vacay collection. A beautiful scent nonetheless and will let it sit in hopes it will blossom into the sugary lemony raspberry goodness it once was

Oh my god this is sooo lovely. This is what I thought Devotion by D and G would be. Very sugary lemon and vanilla but light and fun and good for spring and summer, Devotion is a bit more heavy and feels like more of a fall and winter scent.

A delightfully sweet lemon coated in sugar, reminiscent of a lemon jelly dessert. It’s surrounded by creamy, cheerful, and joyful notes. Pure happiness in a bottle. A wonderful experience.

This really surprised me in a positive way. In addition to citrusy brightness, there is so much warmth and a slightly spicy and aromatic quality. It was an immediate love for me!

I love this perfume, it's so nice, but you have to practically spray it like a body mist. Oh well, I'm just going to keep doing that because it's amazing and smells so beautiful.

Smells like Torta De La Nonna. It's like a lemon-almond-raspberry musk scent if you ask me. Very nice to wear and while it doesn't last forever, it's not super weak either.

What a surprise! Capri in a Bottle is goooooood. Sweet, sugary, lemony, and refreshing. This one is easy, fun, perfect amount of lemon citrus, and good. 9/10
