The dry down really shines as the sensual vanilla and creamy sandalwood intertwine with the other notes. Overall it reads as a beachy, sweet, and creamy coconut vanilla with nuances of banana and sandalwood with an almost marshmallow-y gourmand vibe. I really love this one, it’s super good! Picture drinking a marshmallow and banana smoothie out of a coconut on a tropical beach with the warm sun on your skin and clear aqua water lapping at your sandy feet. I’m actually somewhat reminded of SDJ Coco Cabana by this, which is another love of mine! This is definitely my favorite out of the Vacay in a Bottle set, followed my Maldives, and then Capri (which also gives me a marshmallow-y vibe very similar to Yum Boujee Marshmallow in the dry down)! It’s also one of my favorite Kayali perfumes, the 6th to be exact. I’m a huge Kayali fan, and I currently own 20 different fragrances of theirs. My top 5 favorites are Yum Boujee Marshmallow, Vanilla 28, Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar, The Wedding Silk Santal, and Yum Pistachio Gelato. This feels feminine to me, and while it does have a somewhat youthful vibe to it I think it can still be worn by women of any age. This definitely feels most fitting during the spring and summer because of the beachy/coconut vibe. I think this is most suitable for casual occasions, a beach vacation, work/school, and even some date nights. I get very good performance with Maui in a Bottle. The longevity is between moderate to strong, as it lasts about 6-8 hours on my skin. The projection is moderate, it radiates out at least an arm’s length from me. Beautiful, Beachy, sweet, fresh, tropical, creamy, cheerful, uplifting, fun, bright, fruity, floral, woody, warm, yummy, feminine, sensual On me this opens sweet, fruity, and bright with banana and pear. As it starts drying down the coconut and jasmine really come into play helping to balance out the sweetness of the fruity top notes, and really bringing a beachy feel to the fragrance. When the vanilla and sandalwood appear they add a warm, creamy, and woody depth that rounds out the fragrance very nicely. The coconut stays fairly prominent throughout with the vanilla and sandalwood, while the banana, pear, and jasmine remain gently intertwined through the rest of the wear. I bought 2 of the Vacay in a Bottle sets whenever it launched, and I immediately loved it! Maui is my favorite from the set followed by Maldives, which makes sense considering I’m a big fan of coconut fragrances. I’m also a big Kayali fan in general. I have 16 of their fragrances, and my top 3 are Yum Boujee Marshmallow, The Wedding Silk Santal, and Vanilla 28. For a little more reference, some of my favorite beachy/coconut fragrances include Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Kilian Sunkissed Goddess, Replica Beach Walk, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, JHAG Lust For Sun, and JHAG Vanilla Vibes. I also have Kayali Utopia Vanilla Coco and love it as well. This is definitely a feminine feeling scent that I think would work for women of any age. It’s best suited for the warmer weather of spring and summer with its sweet, beachy, and tropical vibe. I was nervous about the banana note in this because up until buying this I never owned a banana fragrance. I’m so glad I took the chance though because it’s amazing. The banana is there, but not at all overpowering. It adds a really nice sweet, fruity, and tropical scent that pairs especially well with the coconut and vanilla. I think Maui is a safe blind buy if you’re a fan of coconut/tropical scents. I get excellent performance with Maui in a Bottle, as I do with all of the Kayali fragrances I own. The longevity is great, on me it lasts throughout the day. The projection is good, it radiates out at least a couple feet from me.

I will preface my review by agreeing with the previous comments here, about how quickly the banana note disappears from my skin. I wish it lasted longer, the reason I have bought this perfume in the first place. But that aside, I really love how Maui in a Bottle smells like. Again I wish it lasted longer and be more intense, but talking about the scent only, I do love it. On me, once it is dried down, it’s more coconut, pear, jasmine, and then banana, with a typical base of vanilla and sandalwood combo. All notes that I love and I already have tens and tens of perfumes in my collection, from this particular perfume what I wanted the most was a prominent banana... On the positive side, Maui in a Bottle is a fun, summery, very smooth, creamy, balmy, sweet, fruity, white floral, likeable fragrance. It’s a catchy perfume for most of the ladies (don’t think there’s anything masculine in this) who like a sweet, fruity, white floral scent with an exotic twist. Mass appealing to the younger crowds without a doubt... So, to sum it up: I would rate Maui in a Bottle a 9/10 for the scent, a 8/10 for how long the banana note lasts, and a 7/10 for the intensity and longevity of the perfume. Keep in mind that this is my first perfume that features a banana note in the composition, so in that sense, I don’t have much experience to compare this perfume against. I would not recommend buying this for full price because it’s overpriced for what it is. I got my bottle with a significant discount, so I am not too mad about it. Also, if you don’t like or you’re sensitive to coconut, jasmine and vanilla in your perfumes, don’t buy this! It’s a perfume that has some banana in it, it’s not a banana dominant perfume, like the marketing implies!

I don't love all Kayali scents- many are nice but generic... But this one is special! This is the BEST banana scent I have ever tried. Let me explain why... It is a very naturalistic green banana fruit scent- it is NOT synthetic banana laffy-taffy. And the banana note is much longer lasting than a lot of banana perfumes. There is the vanilla whipped cream facet (this is Kayali after all)... But there is also a soft touch of naturalistic, tropical floral- which only adds to the natural feeling of being in a tropical place. This does not smell like sunscreen, it does not smell like banana bread. It smells like being in a tropical place- eating a creamy, vanilla dessert topped with fresh bananas... with some tropical flowers blooming nearby. Gorgeous. Also, sidenote: It's sad that so many GenZ Americans don't know what real, blooming white flowers smell like. It's also sad that these people only want synthetic gourmands and these people won't even try to appreciate floral notes. The florals in this scent are not sharp, heavy or overly indolic- just natural and soft. Those who appreciate nature and understand floral scents will understand.

Another sweet Kayali fragrance! My bottle is from when the set was sold separately early last spring I believe. So it’s developed beautifully! The juice is dark like the vanilla 28 juice. The initial spray is like a boozy ripe banana with pear to freshen it up. I pick up the jasmine as it sits on the skin. It’s very soft but helps the fragrance smell more of perfume than a body spray. I’m super sensitive to white florals but the jasmine in here is not overwhelming to me nor is it the main note I pick up. I feel like the notes are well blended here. Sometimes I do pick up like a sun tan lotion vibes. The dry down leaves me with a pear, coconut vanilla and sandalwood base. But I can still smell a sweet banana in there from spray to dry down. I enjoy wearing when it’s really hot and humid outside. Makes me feel like I’m walking the beach in Maui beach while sipping on a coconut cocktail. Layers perfectly with SODJ 39 and Phlur’s Heavy Cream. However because this is such a sweet fragrance I don’t wear it often and am leaning towards selling it as I’m gravitating to less sweet and more fresh aquatic fragrances as of late.

A yummy yes please. Banana is one of my favorite fruits, but in perfumes, a banana accord seems more of a taboo for some reason and I can understand why. It can either go disastrously south or deliciously north. The banana in this falls in the latter case, at least on my skin. Starts with a mouthwatering creamy banana smoothy accord. You can smell both the fruit pulp and the banana skin. The accord is backed by a bouquet of carefully blended flowers. Not sure why Gardenia is not mentioned here, but it's on the official website notes description and I can smell it clearly here, which also happens to be one of my favorites notes as well. What's really impressive in this is the blending, almost shocking to be honest. Everything is blended perfectly, nothing obnoxiously sticking out. Behind the creamy banana and flowers, lies a balsamic slightly boozy bourbon vanilla accord. Performance is excellent, exceeding 12 hours on my skin in different weather scenarios. I wore it in winter and today I'm wearing it in the summer. Top notch performance in all scenarios. Two banana thumbs up from me. I'm addicted!

This is the banana scent of my dreams. Addicting and crowd pleasing. It is a creamy banana milkshake in a cool blue glass rimed with sweetened coconut flakes. This is sweet with some sexiness to it. I would love wearing this for a summer date night. Performance improves as it macerates, which seems to be very common with Kayali fragrances. After four months the longevity is 6-7 hours, the modest silage is beautiful, but the projection is still intimate. As this has aged the banana sticks around for longer, 2-3 hours now. While I can still smell the creamy tropical dry down on my clothes the next day. I can pick out each individual note in the pyramid but they all complement each other. I paired this with my second favorite from the set Maldives in the bottle and that is a sexy tropical combo. I do not understand why a larger bottle is not available. I already purchased my backup. 10/10.

I smelled this on paper and knew I was going to get the bottle immediately. I’ve been on a long hunt for a perfume my husband and I both enjoy equally. I’ve gone through a lot. But this he was like WOW that’s incredible. And said, “It is my favorite of all the perfumes you’ve had me smell”. It brought me back to when we took a trip to Hawaii, I had never been before and I remember being stunned that the air smelled sweet. It’s blended beautifully. None of the notes jump out in the best way, it’s just that sweet Hawaii scent. I’ll have to check out some of the similar fragrances listed. But I love it, I put it on 6 hours ago and I still smell it on my skin. I feel comfortable with the projection like it wouldn’t be offensive in close or professional settings.

I never thought I’d enjoy a banana fragrance, but I absolutely love this from start to finish. The banana isn’t laffy taffy or artificial at all. Instead, it reminds me of smelling a fresh banana with the peel still on, or even a slightly green banana. It has this bright, fresh quality that keeps it from ever leaning gourmand. As it dries down, the coconut and vanilla bring in a creaminess, while the jasmine adds just enough soft floral to make it feel like you’re on a tropical beach. Even with those creamy notes, it never becomes sticky or dessert-like. If banana is a note that usually scares you, don’t let it. This isn’t banana bread or banana pudding, it’s a fresh and fruity take on banana that I will continue to reach for in the summer.

I’m not sure how I went from despising this fragrance to a full on obsession, but it happened. I smelled it for the first time about a month back and thought it had an odd funk to it unfortunately. Today I smelled it at Sephora and ended up drenching myself in it and walked out with a small bottle to try out. I’m loving it more and more the longer I wear it. The combination of banana and jasmine is delicious and beautiful. The powder is comforting like a hug. I’m at a park watching my son play and a woman just asked me what I’m wearing because she said it “smells so good” and “smells familiar and comforting”. I’m going back tomorrow to get the large bottle. I’ve only obsessed over one other fragrance this hard. I. Need. More.

Okay so I’ve been collecting Kayali perfumes, I’ve got eleven of them, this, Maldives, capri, marradesch, burning cherry, royale, sparkling lychee, juicy apple, rock candy, boujee marshmallow, pistachio and this one has grown on me much more than I would have thought. I did find it okay at first but now I love it! It’s so coconut/banana creamy and I could absolutely see this being a perfect fit to wear on a beach in Maui! It kind of reminds me a bit of soliel blanc by Tom ford, it gives that kind of vibe, not a dupe but just kind of similar. To rank what I have: 1) Maldives 2) Maui 3) boujee 4) royale 5) juicy apple 6) sparkling lychee 7)capri 8)pistachio 9) rock candy 10)Marrakech 11) burning cherry

What a great way to make sweet banana desirable in a perfume. Nicely balanced with the green mango, creamy coconut, I'm pretty sure I get some sunscreen notes in here too. Can't think of a better scent a woman would want to wear by the ocean/water or on a vacation/summer setting. I feel like wearing sunscreen with this scent would make it even better. The best solar gourmond out there and highly underrated, especially considering most of what kayali does is rich, deep gourmonds, they nailed this one. I'll be wearing it on my vacations and layering with a spicy scent to make it more unisex/masculine and balance out the heavy jasmine.

MMMM banana pudding? Banana cream pie? Makes me wanna put a vanilla wafer in it, YUM. I was smiling in Sephora because I wasn’t expecting the fun banana-forward opening. It’s sweet but it’s not banana laffy taffy. It's creamy, baked into a dessert banana. I usually hate sunscreeny-solar coconut/tropical perfumes? This is not one of them, I’m pleasantly surprised. However, I don’t think I would pay the retail price for the full bottle. I feel like I would need to douse myself in this perfume for longevity/projection sake, so I might actually prefer this as a body mist that I wouldn’t mind going through quickly.

I don't know with you all but this just gets better overtime and is continuously growing on me! Thankfully to my body chemistry it lasts! The longevity of Maui Banana in a Bottle can definitely compete with how Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar performs on me and I LOVE IT! Overtime the ripe banana scent comes forward. The white florals are equally there as well and even though I don't enjoy white florals as much anymore Kayali didn't certainly miss on this one—it is just the right amount of white floral to my nose, blended super nice with the ripe banana. Wish Kayali would give us a bigger bottle of it to enjoy!

Takes the typical sunscreeny coconut scent profile and adds a fluffy floral touch and a powdery woodiness. You get a subtle sweet banana in the opening for a cheeky fruity touch paired with a sweet pear, that develops into a creamy coconut and jasmine combo. The jasmine here is fluffy, lush, sweet, and the coconut leans a bit sunscreeny as is expected with this sort of vacation esque scent profile. Dry down offers a powdery woody touch with some sandalwood and leftovers of that creamy coconut and fluffy jasmine. Overall a lovely take on a vacationy scent profile with fun additions of subtle banana notes.

Honestly? A really well done scent, lasts better on skin, and on my skin in particular it's heavenly. The bananas, coconut and Jasmine are noticeable, and all 3 blend and tone down into a sunscreen vanilla banana coconut vibe for hours. I get very good projection out of this without it giving anyone else a solid headache. Very pleasant, easy to pull off, and I need 1-2 sprays and I'm set for a good 6-8 hours. Is it niche? No. Should you be expecting niche from kayali, also no. Is generic and pretty and easy to pull off a bad attribute? No. Sometimes one needs something simple in life.

I actually bought this (the whole set) last year, and wasn’t entirely impressed (the Marrakesh is terrible but I do love the Capri one). This one I did like, but it didn’t give me all the feels... Well, I tried it again, and it’s a love! I don’t get much banana, but it’s definitely there; it’s mostly kind of ‘leafy’ with a touch of floral- and a banana just wafts by! Very fresh and pleasant. I recently acquired Marc Jacobs Wild eau so Intense- and this, paired with that (which is definitely banana but like a well blended essence), is amazing!!!

My only banana fragrance and I love it. It smells like a pina colada. Tropical and so fun. The opening is sweet banana and then it melts into coconut cream, jasmine, vanilla and sandalwood. Some people say the banana fades fast but on me it still keeps that tropical sweetness going with coconut and jasmine. Longevity is actually pretty good, it lasts a few hours and feels light and summery the whole time. Very unique fragrance and it makes me happy every time I wear it. I only have the 10 ml bottle but will be repurchasing next summer 🍌

The best of the set, no debate. The pear and banana are blended so impeccably that you almost can't tell where one begins and the other ends!!! There's a very obvious jasmine here as well, and it's sooooo princessy and pretty. The coconut goes in hand with it and the blend between them is also perfect. It's so fun and summery, has a lot of mass appeal imo. I honestly can't get why someone would dislike it. But I GENUINELY would do anything to get more longevity out of it (which I'm beginning to notice is a running theme with Kayalis).

To my nose, the banana in this is a very green banana. It is not quite ripe yet, but just sweet enough. On paper I find the banana quite foul actually, but on skin it is delicious and fresh mixed with the pear. The coconut cream is the star of the show & the body of this fragrance. It is creamy, sweet, thick, and unmissable. The sandalwood keeps it smooth and milky all the way through to the dry down. Delicious summer gourmand. Projection is very mild, lasts 3-4 hours. Don’t judge by smelling it on paper, definitely try on skin 🍌
