Oudgasm Café Oud | 19 Eau de Parfum Intense

I absolutely LOVE this. Mostly, the Arabic note it leaves in the dry-down, the longevity, and the projection of the scent. I'm Arab, so I'll never turn down anything that makes me feel closer to home. But if you like coffee, you definitely get a delicious black coffee note in the first 30-60 minutes of wearing it. The dry-down is more like rose-oud, but it's a kind smell. It's outstandingly Middle Eastern but nothing headache-inducing like the real Oud you burn. It's a perfect strength; it's moderately strong in Oud. I can smell it on myself, as if I just sprayed it on, even 6 hours later (which is when I'm writing this lovely review). Kayali never fails. It's always a huge hit when you find a scent that lasts from this brand.

Despite the name, the rose note is very strong in here, so if you don’t like rose, you will not like this. I personally love this. This is a more welcoming and “beginner friendly” oud. Upon spraying, the rose top note is very loud but as it dries down, the oud and coffee emerge in the background. While the rose note stays present, I definitely do get a strong scent of coffee. I really like it because oud can often go in a more masculine direction and I feel this is a more feminine alternative which is just my personal preference. It almost reminds me a bit of FM Portrait of a Lady - a fantastic rose perfume and one of my favorites - with coffee added.

Fragrantica became my resource when it comes to making a decision whether to give a perfume a try or not. But this time I am really glad that I bought cafe oud before reading the reviews since most of them are not encouraging which is so sad. I absolutely love this perfume among all the oudgasm collection. And since I am new to the coffee note , I found this creamy , cappuccino version is a very good start. Love love the blend between creamy coffee, rose and oud. I bought the miniature size (which is so cute) and I’m thinking of buying a full size bottle.

This is one of my all time favorites!! I definitely get the coffee with rose/geranium and oud☕️🌹🪵 One of the best ouds I’ve smelled, not fecal or barnyardy. Notes blend beautifully together. Perfect for a winter night out. Lasts incredibly well, better than any I own. Kayali scents are really good if you smell them with an open mind

To me this one is just so perfect on the skin, the bitter coffee along with what seems to be a middle eastern Coco Noir just singsss. It is truly a dark, mysterious, scent that wakes your inner dark feminine energy. Anyone with a darker aesthetic, that loves earthy, slightly resinous, vampiric perfumes would love this too.

Update: I am on my 4th bottle. This perfume deserves alot of love despite getting alot of negative reviews. Compared to the Kayali freedom musk latte, this is a more tame and rose forward woody scent that could even be used during summer (not desert hot weather).

I don't know why Cafe Oud is getting a bad rep here fragrantica but this is a very good perfume. It's less of the oud but more of the rose with a light lactonic coffee. It's a complement getter whenever I wear it. My favourite scent from Kayali.

I've tried this one in Harrods today! Beautiful coffee note with (not that strong) oud. Everything in this perfume feels cozy and warm. My favorite from "Oudgasm" Collection! Love.

I add one spritz of this to my leave-in hair conditioner. It adds a rich tone to whatever scent I'm wearing that day. It's subtle but noticeable; especially to those that hug me.

black opium illicit green on steroids!!

A bit disappointed in this rose forward woody oud scent. I was expecting and hoping for milky warm lactonic coffee forward, it's just not. And trying to sniper the scent with your nose doesn't count and doesn't make it enjoyable. There's quite a bit to say about scents being conveyed a certain way, or poorly marketed and the let down feelings when what you expect it smell like just isn't there but thats a different discussion. Despite the misrepresentation this does succeed as a modern rose oud scent without smelling like Grandma Ruth, however doesn't really rival masters like Tom ford on the scent profile or the sexiness. It is uniquely Kayali smelling with its DNA written all over it. I felt more positive when I realized this layers well with Vanilla 28 and other scents, although I don't like paying 150 dollars for 50ml just to layer. These should be oud masterpieces as a stand alone especially when the note list on the website really gets you excited and always looks so enticing. But Kayali really does push layering their scents in their marketing so I guess all is fair, and it really does work. It it defiantly gets you to spend more money. The strangest part of this experience was that I was sent a free Freedom Musk Latte sample along with this perfume, and oddly enough it has the lactonic, warm coffee deliciousness that you would be expecting from cafe oud! Like wtf..... But I must say, they LAYER PERFECTLY TOGETHER. So now I'll be ordering Freedom Musk Latte, which oddly enough only comes in a 10ml on the website . If your expecting a yummy lactonic coffee scent just go with Freedom Musk and you won't be disappointed. If you want a solid Rose Oud this is it.

A strong, cool aromatic immediately projects. I thought this was one with cardamom in it but it’s not. It must be the patchouli. Sometimes patchouli gives a strong, medicinal opening like in Mugler Angel Muse EDP. I don’t get citrus at all. I’m also getting a powdery rose underneath. It’s reminiscent of velvety petals. My first impression is that this fragrance will be off-putting to the typical Kayali customer. It’s not blind buy safe. It’s also quite a mature scent. I’d imagine smelling this on a woman 55+. I can easily see this giving people headaches. I’m not hating this scent, I actually do like it. I just want to give others a warning. As it wears, I’m feeling a sinus-clearing effect. It doesn’t smell camphoric but has that effect. I really did not expect this! Once this effect dies down, a smoothness emerges. I can’t say I’m getting coffee and oud. It is slightly sweet, powdery, and vanilla... maybe even milky. I guess that is close enough to coffee if I imagine. I have other fragrances with the cappuccino note but they're pretty different from this. The deep, sweet, powdery vanilla is the scent I still get in the dry down. At the same time, there’s a bitterness and rose keeping this interesting instead of generic. This was a wild ride of a fragrance. I think this will be polarizing but appeal to fragrance lovers.

Café Oud is one of the most missleading perfumes I have ever tried. From the marketing of the entire Oudgasm line I expected this being way darker and heavier. And off course I expected it to smell like coffee and oud based on the name. Well, it's not at all what I expected. I actually think the scent itself is pretty good. It's a fresh, slighlty spicy floral, with maybe some lighter woodiness in the background. But I don't get any coffee or oud what so ever. I was afraid this would be too heavy and difficult to wear, but that's not the case at all. It's actually really wearable year around to many different environments. I could see it working in office as well as special occassion like wedding. It smells expensive, like something your middle aged boss that has their stuff together would wear. But it still doesn't smell like old lady, just grown up and sophisticated. All of that being said, it's one of those fragrances that I don't feel like myself when I wear it. But I do appreciate how this smells like, maybe I just wish it was named differently. And who knows, maybe in 10 years from now I will be over sweet gourmands and want something more mature, but not overpowering with florals. Then I could see myself going for something like Café Oud.

Kayali's Cafe Oud 19 is a very beautiful fragrance for Autumn in my opinion. I don't particularly detect much of the coffee/cappuccino notes. I think I smell a whisper of coffee hidden in the citrus, but I wouldn't really consider this a cappuccino scent at all. The oud in this perfume is very friendly and easy-going, making this a good intro to oud fragrances as it lacks that animalistic dirtiness that ouds can have. On first spray I mostly get the burst of citrussy, green, freshness from the bergamot and geranium, and then it settles down into a very rosy, patchouli, woody smell on me. After it's had time to sit on my skin for a while I end up with a hint of vanilla and musk peeking through- but it very much stays rosy and incensey on my skin. I would mostly describe this scent as "dry" smelling. I do think Cafe Oud 19 would layer very well with a vanilla perfume or lotion if you were missing the sweet notes one often associates with coffee fragrances. Overall I really like this perfume. I like the way the rose isn't suffocating and the oud is relaxed. This will be an easy reach for the season.

My least favorite of the Oudgasm collection. I generally love a coffee note, but this one is definitely more milk than coffee. edit 09/28/24: This scent comes alive in colder weather. I’m picking up more coffee in the dry down, though definitely still milky. But much more prominent than the coffee note is a citrusy oud rose. Jury’s still out on how those notes are supposed to work together. I usually don’t take my cappuccino with roses and lemons. At least it’s an interesting combo, I’ll give it that.

This is an interesting fragrance. It’s a like, not a love. I get roasty black coffee, bitter geranium, bright unsweetened rose, and a light vanillic oud, in that order. It’s fresher than I thought it would be, especially in the beginning, but it becomes a rounder scent in the dry down. I think it’s quite modern, but also mature smelling. Unisex. Moderate longevity on my skin.

Sadly feel zero coffee, was hoping for it. Can clearly feel oud tree, rose and patchouli. Beautiful unisex spicy wood fragrance, as for me. Started with purchasing 10 ml, will be thinking if I want full bottle. Added later: Actually smell of coffee came later, in about 40 minutes I started to smell milky coffee too. Very cozy soft perfume. Love it!

I expected this line to have more of a "coffee" smell. I don't smell the coffee sadly that much, and after smellong the others I wish I would have bought the vanilla or rose one. Despite, I still like this one, even though I am not the biggest fan of oud/patchouli. This won't be a day-to-day Fragrance and might have to grow on me still.

As I'm scrolling these reviews I am shocked that I am the only one who finds this fragrance SUPER musky and to have similarities to Narciso Rodriguez EDT!!! I wore it all day today and while at work, I got periodic whiffs of a sweet, musky, powdery, smell with a hint of rose...no prominent coffee scent came through to me at all🤷♀️

I actually feel like this is the lightest of the fragrances in this series, not the Vanilla, which I found to be quite strong. This was pleasant and inoffensive. Not super woody, just a light café scent. I went light with sprays based on the vanilla, but will actually spray a few more from now on.

This is such a deep, rich, beautiful coffee and oud scent. I also really get the rose coming through which I really enjoy! The performance is really nice as well with 6+ hours on my skin and a moderate projection. Another beauty from Kay Ali!

Well balanced oud and coffee, it smells a bit earthy, grounded, quite soft.

I really wanted to love this one... but it just didn’t love me back. On paper, it sounds dreamy; cappuccino, rose, oud, vanilla, ike a warm, cozy café moment with a little edge. But on my skin, it leaned surprisingly green and a bit sharp, which threw me off from what I expected. And maybe it’s just my pH, but this disappeared on me way too quickly. For something labeled “intense,” I was hoping for more presence and longevity. There’s something interesting about it. I can see the vision, but for me, it didn’t translate into that rich, comforting coffee scent I was craving. It felt more airy and slightly herbal than indulgent. I’ll still appreciate it for what it is, but it’s not something I’d reach for often. Just not my vibe, and that’s okay ✨

This is a nice perfume. To me it's a cross between Montale Intense Cafe and TF Noir de Noir. I love Noir de Noir, it's one of my favourites, so technically I should love this too - but I think it's a bit too syrupy sweet (like Intense Cafe) for me. The disappointment for me is in the projection and longevity for the price point. I get whiffs of this sometimes when I move, but otherwise it's very discreet. That's fine if you're after something subtle, but Kayali has more of an 'opulent, extravagant' appeal to it as a brand, so this perfume doesn't really live up to the projection I expected.

Very similar to Noir de Noir but Tom ford is better. This isn’t as rich decadent projecting or long lasting. Even tho when I wore this I got major compliments I just wasn’t smelling myself at all. I’m the whole oudgasm collection excluding tobacco because I have yet to smell that one, there is something off putting. I think it’s the cashmere musk but smells more like an ambroxan bomb. It ruins the fragrances. And they all have this issue. Instead of the rich middle eastern dna it has a screechy synthetic quality that disappointed me greatly. I won’t be purchasing full sizes of any of them

This was a 10ml blind buy just so i could get more samples in my online order, i was not expecting SO MUCH ROSE 😭 i love the smell of coffee and i have a few kayali scents that i really like (all the sweet ones) so i thought this was safe, but omg the coffee note is nowhere to be seen 💔 I've been wearing it for a few hours and the rose is still noticeable but not "grandmas air freshener" level, it smells a lot more vanilla when settled, but still not as much of the coffee note as i hoped :( its a mature scent that probably appeals more to an older audience

my least fav from Kayalis ouds..I was really hoping this would be a coffee oud scent. It's more of a musky closet oud. It's awful on my skin and... light on paper?? blind bought all the ouds and tested them before gifting them to folks who may lile it better. I unfortunately sprayed myself at work (to test) and huge mistake. Unfortunately someone came in looking for me and we were both displeased with my scent. I Enjoy ouds, I prefer Arabic houses and scents.. but this one is just gross. Not sure how it did on my friend..but I don't wanna know.

Update: It’s the patchouli that is bothering me. Not a huge fan of Patchouli but it is blended well in some of my favorite perfumes. Maybe it needs more time to mature. I really enjoy Vanilla Oud and I’m not a vanilla girl. I purchased this and Vanilla Oud. Currently I prefer Vanilla Oud over this. The citrus in this confuses me. Will have to try over. I always believe the first few sprays of any perfume are garbage and not representative of the actual perfume.

This is one that I was most excited for and the one that really let me down (for my personal preference). 😞 It's a very pleasant scent but this leans very fresh, almost sparkling on me, which sounds great and all but for some reason it's just not my jam. I still think it's worth checking out because I'm sure many would find this quite nice. 🙂 Side note: Tobacco Oud is my favorite so far. Vanilla Oud, although not my type seems to have the best performance.

I so I wanted coffee and oud. Seems reasonable based on the name and notes. But the oud is so weak I can barely find it and there is absolutely no coffee. I get rose and maybe mild citrus? Doesn’t much matter since it’s gone so fast. if I could get a refund I would but fortunately I only got the 10ml. I was eager to try the rest of the line but how can you have an Oud line with so little Oud?

At first spray there is an animalic oud that makes this smell like it's gone off. As soon as it dries down the oud is gone, no coffee whatsoever, just powdery rose? I'm so confused, I own multiple coffee + rose fragrances that keep that scent profile throughout the day but this doesn't live up to its name...

i LOVED the vanilla one so i was so excited for this, expecting a sweet cappucino note. Unfortunately on my skin it was just a strong rose and geranium. Not bad, it was a different beautiful scent but only those two notes and started to give me headaches. I tried another time and the same result. :(

I'm not very happy with this blind buy. It's very masculine for me, and I don't smell the capuccino note, wich I wanted the most. Also not the rose...Hope it gets better with the time. First picture that came into my head was walking inside an old bar/pub where they smoke cigars.

Respectfully, is the cafe in the room with us? Really wanted to love this because I have been wanting a coffee oud scent. Was very disappointed! I smell the bergamot and orange which I don't like projecting in my perfumes. Wish this was more coffee/espresso/cappuccino rich scent!

.. My first thought is, that the hole line smells a bit weird/off, like they forgot the last part/ the finish. They just dont smell well refined, for that praise and price. I do like the Vanilla, as it reminds me of Un bois Vanille..

This smells like Fenty by Rihanna. Both fragrances have orange, geranium, rose, musk, and patchouli. So, there’s a base DNA they share. One is fruity, one is more gourmand, but they are definitely sisters.

I thought this was cafe oud, not rose oud. The florals dominate everything.

My Kayali Oud Collection came in. I watched every single YouTube video and NOTHING prepared me for what I actually smelled. I wanted to know if a person wasnt into oud, should we be afraid of the collection. These are all classic Kayali DNA fragrances. Those who are typically underwhelmed with Kayali, you'll be underwhelmed again. Kayali lovers will find happiness once again. These are all BEGINNER friendly ouds. The black bottles werent necessary. They are all soft skin scents. These are crowd pleasing and nothing is off putting even if it isnt your cup of tea per se. My favorite is Vanilla Oud. They honestly didn't even need to call it oud bc you cant detect it at all. Its a soft pretty dainty skin scent. Is it groundbreaking? No! Does it need to be? No! McDonald's isnt extraordinary either but they are still #1. I want a full bottle of the Vanilla Oud. Kayali is famous for their vanillas and they nailed it once again right here. Tobacco Oud: This is my 2nd favorite and I also want a full bottle of it. It sort of reminds me of a baby Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. Although this one has supposedly the most intensity of oud, it's still a very elementary level of oud and very safe to move product for the masses. The opening isn't that great but the mid is addictive and the drydown after 2-3 hours is a baby candy sweet vanilla with lace and glitter femininity. Cafe Oud: Im a coffee fragrance lover. I own Delox from Tiziana Terenzi. I love the coffee in Bond No 9 New York Nights & New Haarlem. I also love the coffee in Followed by Kerosene. Cafe Oud unfortunately missed the mark. It smelled stale on me. Not an old stale smell but something that just recently went stale. Rose Oud: Im not typically into rose so to no surprise this didnt work for me either. I would imagine rose ppl would appreciate this one. I do like the rose in the new Carmina by CREED interestingly enough. Kayali gets both a lot of love and hate. (That's what happens when you're on top!) I am a Kayali fan. So, this is a weird one. I imagine the fragrance is okay but it's definitely not a love. I did snag a full 50ml bottle at a pretty good price, so I thought, "Why not?" I'm on the search for coffee-vanilla gourmand fragrances with a floral, or other "twist." I've tried all the Montale "Coffee" fragrances and they've fallen flat. My current favorite fragrances with the aforementioned notes are Mancera "Amore Caffe," Carthusian "Terra Mia" and Tiziana Terenzi "Delox." And of course, Akro "Awake," which doesn't have any florals...but. To my nose, Oudgasm Cafe is really a FLORAL fragrance with some wood notes and musk notes in the dry-down. I detect zero coffee, zero cappuccino and little oud in this fragrance. What I do detect is a vegetal, green, earthy, fresh, organic, grassy, or floral opening. I'm sure the opening accord is relevant to the GERANIUM in this fragrance. Geranium and a wee-bit of rose. The opening feels very "cool," or cold and somewhat herbal, even medicinal. These are NOT characteristics I attribute to oud. As the fragrance develops on skin, there are touches of wood, musk. I do not get patchouli. I get lots of green, slightly bitter florals. Geraniums and dirt. Longevity is typical Kayali, which is minimal. Silage is minimal, which is okay. Disappointing. I suppose I'll wear this 'til all the fragrance in my little bottle is gone. But in NO WAY is Oudgasm Cafe the vanilla-coffee-floral fragrance I hoped it would be. Don't purchase this expecting cappuccino, or coffee. You will be disappointed. And it's not inexpensive. EDITED TO ADD: This stuff is pretty awful. The dry-down is nothing short of acrid & angry. I threw my bottle into the garbage :-/

This does not compare to any coffee oud fragrance I have smelled before. Honestly, it is offensive.. oud is one of my favorites and this smells nothing like it. If this is what people are smelling, it is no wonder they say they dislike oud. The combo of coffee and oud here is a joke. Barely pick up on any coffee at all, scent is a vile powdery musk --- no coffee, flowers, or oud. Imagine dark roasted ashes - no sweetness here. Dry down is an ashtray of cigarettes. Avoid unless you want to smell like stale tobacco. Disappointed with the entire line but this is definitely the worst one.

I wanted to like this but it just wasn't my cup of coffee (get it). On a serious note, I don't want to downgrade the fragrance because it could be a love for some. But on me, I get a very odd bitter BURNT coffee. She smells OK when she dries down but I find the opening horrendous, I don't know why. There is some note idk if it's the coffee but something BITTER. The coffee in this to me does not smell roasted, straight up burnt. And Oud? Who's she? I barely get any oud, maybe she's on vacay.

Tried this fragrance after reading the reviews and was intrigued (especially because I liked the vanilla oud fragrance) The cafe oud definitely was not my thing, unfortunately. I didn't personally get much of a coffee note. All I could really smell was red wine when I sprayed this, even after it dried down. I have no idea what that means but this wasn't my cup of tea personally, as someone who does not enjoy alcohol-leaning scents.

When i wore this, i got a lot of musk and geranium than anything else. The cappucino note is definitely there with a hint of chocolate but this scent gives off a yankee candle coffee vibe to me. On my skin, longevity is about 2 hours before it starts to die down and its really hard to detect the oud note. This is not a gourmand perfume. If anything, this is more of a floral/coffee/musk scent.

I was very disappointed with this one. I have several Kayali Fragrances but I dislike this one the most in my collection from this house. I get oud..oud..oud and then rose. No coffee and that's on paper and skin. My husband wouldn't even take this one off my hands. I'm going to have to return this. I had high hopes for this.

I agree with @addangel. The Coffee note is more milk coffee than coffee. This fragrance underestimates the beauty of oud.

This is a rose perfume. I shudder to think what Oudgasm Rose must smell like if they called this one Café. It's not a special rose, this price point is wild. I was immediately disappointed because I blind sampled it due to the name and said to my friend, "This smells like Grandma's..." they interjected before I could say "perfume." and said, "Grandma's funeral." Edit: I don't hate rose perfumes (Grandma's funeral is a vibe) but I hate the name and price of this perfume.

I LOVE Kayali, but this is one of the worst fragrances I've smelled. I'm not negative on fragrantica, but I blind bought the 50mL thinking I'd love it, but all I smell are a mess of florals with barely any coffee and no oud. It's a straight up floral mess, in a bad way!! Almost smells like cat pee. Please blind buy the 10 mL to try first and don't make the same mistake I did... First Kayali disappointment.

I had such high hopes for this one because it has so much potential. Cafe and Oud? You cannot go wrong. All I’m getting is the strong floral/geranium note. The coffee smells burnt and there’s no Oud in this. I’m glad I got a small bottle rather than purchasing a full size.

Definitely inspired by TF Noir de Noir. Smoother and more wearable.

I love rose and coffee scents and anything "dark" especially for spooky season. This definitely fits the bill. At first all you get is musk and the oud, which makes it very dark and heavy, but then it mellows out and you smell the cappuccino note which smells divine, mixed in with just the faintest hint of rose. A great scent for fall and Halloween activities. I can't wait to try the rose oud! This is what I was hoping black phantom would smell like but instead on my skin, it dried down to a musky smelling older man lol. So I definitely choose this over black phantom.
