Oudgasm Rose Oud | 16 Eau de Parfum Intense

Ok, none of us are getting REAL oud in our commercial fragrances. Oud is actually difficult to find in nature. Trees are artificially inoculated with the fungus that causes the aquillaria tree to respond and make the resin that turns into agarwood. Maybe that might be used in some high end, limited release fragrances but most often it’s a synthetic note. That being said, I like this scent. I think it’s a good intro to rose & oud scents. It’s pretty straightforward being what it says it is. Lasting power is moderate and I have no complaints of this scent. The simplicity of it also makes it good for layering with other rose based scents. I’ve layered it with Rose 01, intense Cafe, Invite only Amber, Elixir 11, and Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper from Kayali with good results. I’d love to try the other 3 from this line but unfortunately Kayali doesn’t have testers for this line. I think they have minis of the Oud Tobacco and Oud Vanilla but I’m really wanting to try Oudgasm Cafe but I’m not willing to shell out $140 for it.

Its a smokey vanilla rose wood. I think its romantic and sultry in a trashy and tawdry sort of way. Its best for evening wear in the autumn and winter. Its a fresh floral scent, like the hand soap you use after helping a handsome doctor ruin his marriage in a room that reeks of cigarette smoke, very similar to the oud in this perfume. I imagine red fishnets and black louboutins in a cheap motel on the outskirts of town. I could see a woman wearing this while she listens to lana del rey and smokes with Mary Jane while your boyfriend is having his weekly family night with his wife and young children. I could see Ashlie wearing this, thinking that it makes her seem feminine and sophsticated (yet sensual and mysterious) but in reality, it makes people think shes a high class escort (all doubts go out the window when they see her silicone enhanced silhouette).

Smells a lot like Montales Dark Purple which I absolutely adore. So excited. I went ahead and got a big bottle before testing just bc I love the notes. This is a UAE princess bad girl scent. Excludes confidence. So beautiful. Like apples and roses w a spicy freshness. Editing to say I've been wearing it to work (I don't mind leaving a scent trail haha) and I can still smell it on me/get whiffs through out the day until the end of the workday. And it's not overpowering to others, however no one is TELLING me it is so IDK. ****Came back a year later 2024 with an update that I get a bit of leather from this. I don't reach for it as often as I thought I would because it is somewhat heavy.

A deep pink rose wrapped in a veil of incense. Almost gothic, but with a bubblegummy undertone that keeps it optimistic and airy. The opening is brighter, a bit zesty. Then it dries down to a dusty rose, a fragrant flower left to dry in a wooden drawer. Rather mature –in character more than age–, it feels less fresh-jammy and more velvety, even church-like. And though the oud gives a melancholy aura, the Kayali DNA prevents it from becoming dark and cloying. All in all, Rose Oud is a scent for bookworms, for those who enjoy wearing black, rainy days and autumnal evenings. A fragrance that can be worn any time, any season, in the right setting on the right person.

My first designer perfume so it will always have a special place in my heart. It is a beautiful, sensual rose fragrance. The drydown on my skin was so addictive, I could not stop smelling myself. It is simply heavenly. I keep the bottle near me and smell it late at night... I am in love. It is sex in a bottle. The name is a little vulgar... but so am I. I want to wear this for him, have him devour me and then kill me afterwards. A girl in class complimented me on this too, just before a major exam, everyone is nervous, revising, panicking & she goes “There’s such a beautiful smell coming from you.” I highly recommend it. It is a superlative scent.

Surprisingly, the quintessential rose-oud fragrance to me, with great longevity. It's well-balanced, restrained, with a juicy aspect in the opening. I like the amount of rose here. Like many oud fragrances, I always get a bit of gasoline in the dry down. It works well here, in my opinion, bringing to mind a woman driving a sportscar. Rose Oudgasm and Promise are my favorite rose-oud fragrances! Because Kayali as a brand seems more lightweight, I was not expecting this. In my opinion, Rose Oudgasm certainly beats Pavilion (the bubble gum aspect was offputting) and Rose Omeyaade (which has a menthol tang I don't like).

On first spray, it is a big rose oud bomb. It does feel a bit on the mature side for the first half hour or so. The oud goes strong through the duration of the wear until the deep dry down where it becomes that familiar pretty vanilla that is in a lot of Kayali fragrances. The rose softens and almost completely disappears on my skin after about 2 hours. I have tried a lot of high powered niche oud fragrances and just couldn't hang with the big guns. This one is a great beginner oud in my opinion- it isn't overpowering or super stinky while still being clearly an oud fragrance.

Standard rose oud fragrance you can probably purchase cheaper from an Arabic house (if youre looking for rose and oud specifically)... however this one has some freshness in it that I don't think I've come across yet. This reminds me of being forced to go to catholic church as a child. Or a funeral. I smelly freshness from greens and florals that mix so good with this crispy rose and oud. I really do love this scent but on my skin... these rose scents turn powdery? they just don't mesh well w my biochem. If my body didn't ruin it, I would have loved to wear this year round.

I have to say I wasn't impressed with this at first. I liked it, but didn't think it stood out among other rose and oud combos. After several full wears, I grew to really love it. The rose is a beautiful warm and sweet rose, and the fragrance has a bit of freshness to it. The oud is smooth and adds a nice round depth to the fragrance. What I really appreciate, and what makes it stand out from other rose/ouds, is that there is no patchouli added. This is my favorite from the Oudgasm line, with the Vanilla being a close second.

I LOVE oh my gosh. It's so aromatic and sultry, it just melts into my skin. This might not be for everyone, but it's definitely for me. Smoky, deep rose incense mmm. To me it smells sophisticated, expertly blended, not dodgy! Or maybe that's just what I'm into... The performance is amazing. I sprayed it on my purse a week ago and I get whiffs everyday. It dries down into something so skin like, aromatic and intoxicating. A new favourite for me.

I find this to be lovely. It reminds me of a more refined, toned down version of Shaghaf Oud, especially on the dry down. It's not overpowering and is well blended. Very smooth. I also got the matching bakhoor in the same scent, and I absolutely adore it. The rose note isn't as prominent in the bakhoor and it resembles Shaghaf even more than the perfume does. I'm very impressed with the bakhoor, and love the perfume as well.

very spicy, and the oud is...oud. i’m not confident enough in it just yet to wear it alone, but I’ve layered it with Chloe Rose Tangerine and it enhances it in such a beautiful way on me. I love using it as a base to layer perfume on top of, since the spicy and smoky fragrances gives such a gorgeous depth to a lot of the floral fragrances I own without turning them into a syrupy, overpowering sweet scent.

This is a gorgeous rose scent. I find it beautiful and very full in terms of being a smokier rose. The extended projection on the ouds line is also quite nice. I believe there is some je ne sais quoi I miss in this so it is lovely for layering based on if you want to bring out either the oud or the rose.

I really love this scent as I love a rose but with a lot of depth. I have had many compliments on it and use it whenever I am performing as a dancer at a festival or event. If you like subtle fragrances then you probably won't like this one as it is quite bold. But I find this very beautiful and sensual!

This purchase might end up being my favorite "mistake." Bought a 10 ml during the last Kay Ali sale thinking I was getting vanilla oud. Obviously my eyes are going bad because I was surprised when rose oud showed up in the package. I decided against returning since it was likely my mistake and just a 10 ml -- but upon first spritz I didn't like it and I put it away. Similar to the magic that happens with so many Kay Ali fragrances, now I love this scent! These last few months of maceration clearly made a difference because this is a lovely rose scent -- the mashup of bulgarian rose, lemon and pear is soft and lovely, and the oud and vanilla on the back end and in the dry down give this fragrance a boldness that sets it apart. I'm prone to layering Kay Ali fragrances but this one really doesn't need it. If the rest of the oudgasm collection is as good as this one, I might need to investigate or at least get the big bottle of Rose (even though I'm allegedly on a Kay Ali "no buy"!)

When I was a kid, I had one of those rose scented oils that I think are usually used for candles or soaps that I would scent crafts with. This is what it smelled like to me; more like a synthetic imitation of a rose rather than the flower itself, but not necessarily in a bad way? Combined with the lemon, this reminded me of a rose-scented cleaning product. I see a lot of people say it smells old lady-ish on them, and while I certainly got that on a test strip, on my skin it has more of a cleaner, fresher scent. Not exactly an authentic rose, but it was still nice!

When I was 10 my parents took me on a trip to Bulgaria. I don’t remember much, but this perfume smells exactly like one of those Bulgarian stores in which they’re selling rose scented products, slightly more refined. Oud is definitely having its moment and I can see why: it’s mature, wearable and long lasting. Oudgasm was part of my spring perfume rotation. It does the job for its price and it can quickly become a crowd pleaser. I liked it for the nostalgia, but it’s not a very pretentious scent. If you like flowers this one’s for you.

Beautiful. The entire collection is worth attention. Minimal edginess, maximum wearability, medium character. Rose oud is the oudiest of them all so far, but in a clean oud aspect. The rose is sharp with geranium and fresh with lemon that immitates patchouli to some extend. I feel also peony that adds lightness and pear that diminishes seriousness. So far no vanilla. Autumn, winter, spring - it should be great. Can be worn in a daytime, too.

This is a jammy sweet rose, definitely not a realistic or fresh rose scent. The oud in this fragrance is very light and i wish i got more of it. I personally prefer a more realistic rose scent, so this isn't something id reach for often. If you layer this with Kayali Tobacco Oud, it becomes such a beautiful smokey, woody, rose that has the depth it's missing. overall, this scent if fairly linear; what you smell is what you get.

This is such a beautiful, rich, deep rose fragrance. The lemon shines through in the opening for just a moment, giving way to a deep slightly spiced very woody, dark rose. This pairs beautifully with sweet diamond pink pepper! The longevity is great with 6+ hours on my skin and a decent moderate projection. I've really been enjoying wearing this during the winter evenings. Very classy, sophisticated, and mysterious!
