Oudgasm Smoky Oud | 07

This is a beautiful fragrance - it smells super rich and expensive. I didn't like it at first because it was just a geranium bomb in beginning, which I found super cloying at first, but I have learned to love it. When I heard 'smoky' I expected an incense smoke, like Ebene Fume TF for instance, but this isn't that at all. I wish this scent profile was a smoky incense because that would've elevated this perfume imo to a whole other level. Despite that, this is still a beautiful fragrance - not as oudy as I expected, has a sweetness in there which I am guessing is the rum. It smells very very similar to MFK Oud Satin Mood, just Kayali is a little heavier and carries more presence, whereas MFK is lighter and more delicate (still beast mode though) If you like MFK OSM, you will definitely like this. This is the most underrated out of all of her Oudgasm collection. No one speaks about this one, and this is my favourite out of the entire Oudgasm line. Not a safe blind buy (which is what I did, but got lucky) give this a chance, you will get compliments left, right and centre. Projection: 9.5/10 Sillage: 9.5/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Fragrance: 9/10

This is lovely and I’m glad Kayali is releasing fragrances that incorporate their Middle Eastern brand heritage. This reminds me of something that would be put out by Amouage. It’s distinctive and doesn’t have that “mainstream” quality at all. Definitely more a scent for fragrance lovers, in my opinion. It’s beautiful but I can see how it would be challenging for some. Smoky Oud smells chic, luxurious, classy. Definitely a winter evening scent, and unisex. Punches above its weight for the price and I think this is actually a great value for an oud fragrance. The oud here is noticeable but very smooth, very much like the oud in MFK Oud Satin Mood. Whoever said below that if you like that one, you will like this - they were 100% correct. I will say Smoky Oud has less noticeable rose and is more woodsy, but the vibes are very similar. Despite the name, this is also not super “smoky,” or at least not overly so. (I definitely don’t get ashtray vibes or bbq vibes, which I was worried about).

When I initially bought this I didn’t appreciate it for what it is or understand a place/time to wear it. It’s not for everyone, the geranium is pretty intense and I think that’s what put me off. Now I love it and I think it’s mixed beautifully! Though I’m playing around with other scents to sweeten it up a little. Does anyone have good recommendations?

This is stunning and so well balanced. It’s beast mode and lasts a while so be careful with the sprays in small areas lol It’s a love for me!

On first spray reminds me of Oud Silk mood, its green like the crushed up stems and leaves of a rose plant with a sprinkle of rose. Rum, smoke and geranium lend it a sweetish woody vibe. That’s all. It’s okay not full bottle worthy for me.

For me it's not a solo fragrance but it's perfect for layering if a want a date night, sexy and misterious, but also indulgent, magnetic and warm type of vibe. I stop smelling it after 4-5 hours.

I am a KAYALI fan! Love the brand, the bottles, and the direction - however - I really tried to like this - REALLY did. I am NOT a woody, smokey, and OUD person. I have issues with ALL the OUDGASM collection - the only one I can even slightly wear regularly and tolerate is Cafe & I am learning to wear Rose OUD more. Smokey, Tobacco and Vanilla are not for me - I am making Tobacco work because I do like the sweetness - Vanilla isn't strong just - boring. This is FAR from boring - it's just SO DAMN STRONG and the geranium is soooo awful. I have been a collector of KAYALI but I may have to let a few bottles exit - they're just SITTING taking up space. =/

I was a little apprehensive to see what a "smoky Oud" would be like. But once I spritzed it on, it was more like a smoky "Rose" (in the sense of cigarette smoke). Then I looked at the notes list, and my next guess would normally be Geranium, but then I saw that Labdanum was down there. Bingo! On me that note is like an artificial floral cleaning product. And I really think this is what we're smelling -- not "too much" Geranium, but Geranium soured by too much Labdanum. Pity. It's not horrible to me, but boring for sure. Glad it was a free sample from the Huda Beauty website.

Honestly I was a little disappointed in this. Yes it has oud, yes it is smoky, and yes it is blended well. But somehow it just feels like something is missing. I’m wondering if I’m detecting something a teeny bit on the artificial/plasticky side, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Am I the only one? I think I was just expecting this to smell deeper and more complex than it is. I suppose my first mistake was having too high of expectations.

I've grown to really love and appreciate oud, sadly the oud is very weak in this. Smoky Oud is mostly a green/floral and a bit spiced scent. The geranium note is SO strong to my nose, I'm not quite used to it. But I'm going to play around with it a bit more and wear try it again in the summer, hoping it performs differently. It's too bad they only sell one size of this, so it's hard to test.

The most unisex one I think, it has a lot of depth and the oud feels more heavy and smoky.

Unbearable . I get charred cedarwood which then turns into a geranium bomb. Threw the sample in the bin. Possibly the worst perfume I’ve experienced.

Literally every note I hate in a perfume 😂 I hope others like it. No idea how this is unisex.

Thie sounds gorgeous. I haven't tried any of the oudgasm line yet. I was late getting into Kayali so I've only got the Yum Pistachio Gelato and just ordered Vanilla 28 yesterday. There's a few I want to try but I love heavy scents and oud. With summer coming up though I'm gonna be wearing less of those types of perfumes so it might have to sit and get stronger til next winter. I'll let other people try it first before I decide which to get next. I'm not rich enough to get them all at once.

I tested this. I had not been into oud much in the past few years as I was tired of it. This is different though. The rum in this is what makes it for me. The only ouds I really wore extensively were Oud For Greatness and Diptyque Oud Palao. I may have to get some of this though before the weather turns too hot and humid. This is an intoxicating room filler right here. That rum and patchouli are nice!

I didnt know if I would like this one but I love it. It does have the same vibe as Initio Oud for Greatness and MFK satin & silk mood but not as much rose for sure. I have the entire Oud line from Kayali and 8 of her other perfumes and they are all stunning. It's not as woody or aromatic as OFG so it's easily unisex.

this is a very strong but well blended oud. However, this is not a beginner oud. layers great with the other Kayali fragrances. This is a night out fragrance for sure. very rich. Mona truly captured the essense of arab culture with this one.
