It has the perfect balance between being sensual and seductive, and being cozy and comforting. It’s very warm spicy too, which adds to the depth and coziness. I’d even call it a decadent scent. The most prominent notes on are the vanilla orchid, amber, brown sugar, and patchouli. Overall, this is definitely one of the sexiest perfumes that I own along with JPG Classsique Eau de Parfum and YSL Black Opium Le Parfum. Honestly, I feel like this is already a classic! I’m a huge fan of Kayali fragrances in general, and currently own 21 of them. Vanilla 28 was my first, along with Yum Pistachio Gelato and Utopia Vanilla Coco. I blind bought minis of all 3, and once I tried Vanilla 28, I immediately ordered the large bottle! My top 5 favorites are Yum Boujee Marshmallow, Vanilla 28, Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar, The Wedding Silk Santal, and Yum Pistachio Gelato. I currently have their newest perfume, Boujee Kitty Caramel Milk, on the way, and have high hopes for it! I also really adore the Vacay in a Bottle collection, and really enjoy all 4 during the warmer weather! I also have the Eden collection, with Juicy Apple and Sweet Peach as my favorites! I do own Vanilla Royale Sugared Patchouli, and for anyone wondering, it’s a deeper, more boozy, and more patchouli forward version of Vanilla 28 which I also enjoy! To me this feels feminine, and like it would easily suit women of any age. This definitely works best during the fall and winter because of its sweetness, richness, depth, and coziness. I think this works for any occasion including fancy and work/school. I get exceptional performance with Vanilla 28. The longevity is excellent, it lasts throughout the entire day on me. The projection is strong, it radiates out at least a few feet from me. I only need a few sprays for this effect, so I do consider this to be a good value. Also, whenever I got my bottles the liquid was already a deep purple brown color. I’ve heard that once it’s this color as opposed to the lighter brown shade that not only does it have better performance, but also had a more rich and deep scent. I've had this a couple of months now but just opened it last week due to having a few other vanilla options and upon opening the cute bottle, it is a lovely intoxicating vanilla that is very addicting. As a man, I've worn this a couple of times and both times I have received compliments from more than one woman per occasion. Men can absolutely get away with wearing this and it may become a favourite of mine. Although it doesn't last too long at the moment, I love it and believe that it will get stronger after several weeks in the bottle as at the moment I need to reapply several times to get through a day, but I'm an over-sprayer anyway. I also have a Middle Eastern clone of this called Vanilla Seduction by Maison Asrar. It has a far more feminine styled bottle but the juice is very, very similar. It was ok when I first opened it, almost exactly like the original is straight out of the bottle, but as with most of my ME fragrances, they need time to develop and after 4 weeks of use, it appears that the oxygen has greatly improved its impact. It's far stronger than it was on first opening, has developed a good sillage and longevity to me is about 4 hours, but that's normal for my skin. It was less than 1/4 of the price of the original, so either way I'll use this until V28 matures, and if I use it all up before then I can just buy another bottle. Can't lose either way. If you have Vanilla 28 and you only get a blast of alcohol on first sprays, and it feels weak when new, just spray it and let it sit a few months. I always base my reviews on my own opinion however as I have experienced sprays of this from people that I know and trust and who have owned it for some time, and they tell me that their bottle took up to 6 months to fully develop, then it's a very solid one after some time. It smelt amazing to me. And it's still lovely even after a few days.

I'm so over the vanilla/gourmand/milk trend. HATE. IT. But this I love. Vanilla | 28 is the least complicated of them all, and I find myself reaching for it the most. This is my third repurchase. I have tried via Scent Split some trendy ones, Bianco Latte (awful), Blanche Bête (better than Bianco latte, but not good enough for a full bottle); nothinggg compares to Vanilla | 28, the one who started it ALL. the OG, the best, most wearable, deep and luxurious true-to-vanilla fragrance available; outside of Guerlain Vanille Planifolia & Spiriteuse Double Vanille. Also love Vanilla Royale Sugared Patchouli | 64, by this house. Don't fall prey to the Arabic dupe game. Real ones **can tell** that you cheated by the irritating, poorly blended scratchy musks and cheap amberwoods. You only smell as good as you spend, the cheaper you go, the scratchier they get. At this fragrance's price point it does have a bit of that scratchy musk, which isn't in Geurlain or Penhaligons. But I digress, as Commodity is worse than, and about the same price as Kayali; and lataffa is, by far, thee WORST. It is what it is! From a collector who doesn't fall for gimmicky names (I mean, "boujee"🫪? What are they thinking? Kayali, please stop..), for a great vanilla under $200 this is all you'll ever need. Stay classy🤍

I'm going to preface this review by saying that I don't come from an affectionate family. But I do have three younger brothers in the teen to early twenties age range. They're the awkward type that show love by randomly bringing me food or showing me something they thought was cool and walking right away. But when I sprayed this fragrance? I sprayed it on the back of my neck/shoulder just once to test it out. Just sitting there scrolling on my phone when a couple of my brothers walked in for something and ended up sitting next to me to snoop on what I was watching. And these boys basically crushed me because they kept leaning into me. They ended up laying their heads on my shoulders and I could hear them sniffing me like crazy. (yes, it was weird. I didn't wanna move because I was afraid I'd spook them like a sleeping cat) They thankfully got called down for dinner, but then my other brother came in and did the SAME THING. I don't think they even realized they were doing it. To a normal family that might not seem out of the ordinary, but I was floored. Honestly flabbergasted. But this smells phenomenal to me too, which is a huge plus. And I don't normally like predominantly vanilla fragrances. Cheapie for the win! When you can find it in stock lol

If you are a true gourmand lover, this is an absolute staple for your collection. Kayali Vanilla | 28 isn't just a basic, sugary vanilla; it has a sophisticated depth that makes it completely intoxicating. The opening gives off this warm, rich brown sugar vibe perfectly blended with vanilla orchid. As it dries down, the amber woods and that very subtle hint of patchouli come through, giving it a slightly boozy, dark, and elegant edge. It is not that synthetic, cupcake-batter sweetness—it smells expensive, complex, and mature. One of the biggest tips for this fragrance is letting it macerate. When you first get it, the liquid is lighter, but once the juice turns that deep, rich purple-brown over time, the performance and the vanilla notes get incredibly intense. It projects beautifully and easily lasts 6 to 8 hours on my skin, leaving the most gorgeous scent trail. It is stunning on its own for a cozy day or a date night, but it is also my absolute holy grail for layering. It adds the perfect warm, sweet base to almost any other fragrance in my collection. A total masterpiece of a vanilla!

For me its scent profile is really close to Paco Rabanne Pure XS, but without the ylang ylang note. It was my fav for many years, and it seems to be discontinued now, but this one captures the essense of why I like this perfume so well! It smells amazing on my skin, it's not too harsh, in your face (nose) type of scent. It's not a dessert vanilla, it's darker, sexy, intoxicating, indulgent and even cozy in a way. I don't smell it much after 4 hours, and overall it feels like a skin scent to me, but I need to test it more and ask people if they can smell it on me. I can totally understand why some people would think it's an old lady scent, and I really don't think it's for everyone, so imo it's not a safe blind buy. Definitely overhyped on Tik Tok and Insta. For me it's a perfume I can wear every day, and I'll darken it with the oud perfume for the night out. I want to experiment with the mixing a bit more, but so far I absolutely love it solo, so no regrets from me.

This is devine sweetness. It's not sticky or juvenile. It's a very mature, not too heavy yet present. It's perfect for layering, but can very well be worn on its own. What makes this even better for me personally is that it's not irritating. My partner has a very sensitive nose and throat and many perfumes give her allergic reactions, even when it's on clothes from the day before. And she loves this perfume! So if you have a similar sensitivity to many perfumes, try this one! On top of that I find it funny that people criticize the fact that this scent is very mainstream and hyped. In my opinion that's a good thing! Personally I like when people think I smell nice, don't you? Is it basic? Yes. Is that a bad thing? That's up to you, but the fact that this has become a basic scent because "too many people like it" makes this objectively a good perfume :)

This is one of my favourite scents of all time. It is so magical and etherial to me. It is a light vanilla with a slight medicinal herbal scent to my nose which I love and find interesting, kind of like detol disinfectant the brown pine one but in a really good way and also a bit of a boozy and spicy scent as well. Smells very comforting and relaxing. The vanilla in here is a very pure good quality vanilla that remindes me of Angelique noir and spirituese double vanille from Guerlian. Its not to sweet, just a really nice light airy vanilla with the right amount of sweetness. It is an amazing middle eastern take on vanilla. I love to wear this one as my signature scent in winter and autumn the most but you can definitely wear all year round I also love to layer this with other Kayali scents like YBM and VCRS. Longevity is great on me.

If you don't like patchouli, this might not be for you. Now that is out of the way, i can say with confidence that vanilla and patchouli compliment each other in a way that is classy. This isn't syrupy or dessert or vanilla extract. This is boozy and woody vanilla, with a very prominent brown sugar note to it. Tonka is usually a hit or miss for me, but in combination with the sugar, it works out. There is a hint of floral but I don't necessarily get jasmine out of it. Lasts well over 7 hours on skin, has good projection. This one I will most definitely repurchase! It is supposed to be a winter scent but if you live in the UK, well you are in luck. You can rock it anytime of the year!!!! So far this is the only Kayali I own, and I love it 🤎

Oh, this is gorgeous! Boozy, warm, sweet...intoxicating. I ordered a decant of this and at first spray, I thought it was just "plain vanilla." After just a few minutes, the scent settles into a warm, deep vanilla with maybe a hint of smoke. I don't get floral or musk. This smells like ACTUAL vanilla, not synthetic. It's a grown-up vanilla. I love that there's no fruit here. This heady scent lasts for quite some time...enveloping me for at least 6 hours. After that, it's softer, but still there. I want to bury my nose in it. This morning, I can still smell it on my wrist! This reminds me of Laurence Dumont Vanille Oriental that Sephora carried back in the day. Definitely buying the full bottle! ETA: full bottle purchased!

This is a beautiful scent. The opening instantly reminds me of pure vanilla extract used for baking, and I actually love that—when sprayed in moderation. It has a unique take on gourmand vanilla that feels different from the usual sweet, dessert-like fragrances. Unfortunately, the performance is disappointing on my skin. It barely lasts more than an hour before becoming a skin scent. On clothes, it performs a bit better, but it’s still not particularly long-lasting. Overall, it’s a lovely fragrance with a distinctive vanilla profile. If it performs well on your skin, it’s definitely worth having. Even if longevity isn’t the best, it shines as a layering fragrance and pairs beautifully with other perfumes.

Kayali Vanilla 28 is not a fragrance. It is a weaponized baked good. If you want to smell like a walking, breathing brown sugar masterpiece who just stepped out of a high-end patisserie and straight into a tax bracket upgrade, this is your liquid gold. It hits you with a violently delicious blast of vanilla orchid and tonka bean, settling down into a rich, boozy amber that makes people question whether they should compliment you or take a bite out of your arm. It is the undisputed champion of layering, but it stands completely alone as an absolute beast of pure, unfiltered gourmand indulgence. Proceed with extreme caution. You will smell edible, and it is entirely unapologetic about it.

Kayali Vanilla | 28 is one of my absolute favorite perfumes, and if you don't already own it, consider this your sign. Over time, this perfume has developed beautifully. I used to get more of a woody note that left it feeling slightly imbalanced. After many months, the vanilla darkened and I get a richer vanilla that has an obvious brown sugar note. It’s perfectly balanced and an easy to throw on fragrance for colder weather. I think this fragrance works much better now that I live in Berlin than when I lived in Texas. This fragrance shines in the cold. The last time I wore this, I walked past my husband that night and he gave me a compliment (extremely rare coming from him) saying I smelled like chocolate. I think the deep sugary vanilla read chocolate to him.

This is such a boozy/spicy/sweet gourmand fragrance, very powerful too, it's lasted me 6 hours so far and it's just as strong as when I first sprayed it. Excellent projection, I was wrapped in a boozy vanilla cloud all day, and when I smelled my wrist, the depth of the brown sugar and amber shone through. It's just a beautiful relaxing scent. It does feel overwhelming in a closed environment, so I'd recommend wearing it when going out, rather than in an office (two sprays are extremely strong, maybe I should have gone for one). Excellent for fall/winter weather. I'm so upset I can't buy it because I'm stuck in an office all day.

I love this so much. I’m a die hard gourmand lover and full time patchouli hater, and I initially hated this at first. I ended up buying a travel size and purchasing another dupe (Elysia). This perfume during the extreme cold fall/winter by itself is so lovely. It is so dark, sensual, boozy and intoxicating. I think the brown sugar balances it out and is what makes me like this perfume. The longevity on my skin is pretty good. I sprayed at 5:30 am this morning and it is now 10 am and it’s still on my wrist. I’d be careful to spray this on a light shirt because it might stain! I’ll def repurchase for the fall Sephora sale.

I adore polarizing fragrances, and this is one of them. My sister didn't like it, so she gave me her 1.7 oz and I wore it almost every day until I used the entire bottle even though, growing up in the 80s, I am used to perfumes that you can smell from five blocks down the road and make everyone around you sneeze and faint. I have my arsenal of loud perfumes: Giorgio, Halston, Bijan and the such. Vanilla 28 is a quiet, warm hug that is pleasant and intimate, perfect for a quiet evening at home or for going to bed. Expensive? Yes. Over hyped? Maybe. Not for everyone? Nothing is. You either like it or not, and is OK.

don't buy this and rate it unfavorably if you only like sickeningly sweet & juvenile vanillas. this fragrance is a beautiful departure from generic, childish vanillas. it smells like booze (in a good way), and just like vanilla extract. it's mature and gets sweeter as it dries . sadly the sillage is very weak and the longevity is short on skin but relatively well on clothes & hair. nonethelesss its the best vanilla perfume in terms of scent and it remains the only perfume over $100 that i've repurchased tldr: smells like boozy vanilla extract and just a tiny bit of cookies baking in the oven

I consider myself “alternative” so I was reluctant to try such a popular fragrance, god forbid I like something that everyone else does! But I’ve got to hand it to the TikTokers...this is sublime. I’m not a gourmand girlie and don’t find this too sweet at all. It’s rich, heady, boozy vanilla that creates the most beautiful scent bubble. I feel sexy wearing this. My sample arrived purple in colour and definitely lasted a long time, so the longevity and projection is great. I think this could be worn year-round, as long as a light touch is taken in summer. Full bottle is already ordered

I used to hate this because of the musk and how smoky it smells when first sprayed... it used to remind me of granny scents BUT... wow ! now this is my all time go to perfume and will be my signature scent for this winter and fall, when first sprayed, you get boozy smoky notes and some will hate it but wait till it dries down, brown sugar and vanilla gets more prominent and I love the brown sugar note on this perfume however do not expect a cakey-like vanilla from this perfume but when it dries down it becomes a creamy sugary vanilla and I LOVE IT.

just finished by second bottle and am in need of a third. it is one of my favorite fragrances ever and its a cult classic for a reason! initial spray is very boozy and alcoholly which may be harsh for some, but it dries down to a more tonka bean ambery brown sugar vanilla. i find that the longer it marinates, the more it starts smelling like a pure vanilla extract and everything else dissipates. it doesn't last very long on my skin so i carry a travel size with me for touch ups but a good fragrance at its price range and for beginner vanillas.

This one is a must try for vanilla lovers out there. I blind bought and was immediately impressed. It's a stunning, gorgeous, bold vanilla. It's such a classy brown sugar scent, and I get an incense or some deep woody, sexy notes on the dry down. It's bold and projects well with one spray, and lasts an entire day on me. I am mediocre on patchouli notes, and my notes does not detect it in this fragrance. Highly recommend, one of my favourite vanillas that I have tried, and i'm excited to try other Kayali fragrances.

Vanilla 28 on initial spray has a woody & boozy opening. There’s gotta be a rum note, it’s not listed but I definitely smell it. Eventually, it dries down to an edible & light vanilla with a soft hint of orchid. This isn’t an intoxicating sweet, overly- gourmand vanilla perfume, no. It’s more mature than that. Surprisingly doesn’t last long (I’d say 2-3 hours, which is insane as I have cheaper perfumes that last longer) but I recommend layering it with a vanilla body mist such as bare vanilla or vanilla skin.

I am adding up to the hype, here. It is a honey/nectar-like vanilla that is indeed a mood lifter, very cozy and which lures men in. Although technically my beloved Gentle Fluidity Gold is better, in my opinion, and more interesting for a perfume lover, the Kayali Vanilla 28 is the one that you cannot help liking. The likeability factor is super high and the fragrance is pretty straightforward. A very easy pick and blind buy, nothing scratchy, synthetic smelling or cloying. Thumbs up for Kayali.

Also excellent for layering, keep coming back to this one! ♡ can smell it on my clothes even the next day. definitely more suitable for winter and nighttime P.S.: layered it with my YSL Black Opium and it worked so well 𐙚⋆°。⋆♡ love the mini 10 ml version for on-the-go (comes in an actual spray bottle, which is rare for mini perfumes)

this is not a gourmand!!!! ofc everyone on social media said this smells like cookies and sweet vanilla but its really just a dark grown mature vanilla. its sweet but like not in a dessert way. if i were to explain it i would just say a sweeter version of vanilla extract, and not in a baking way but like straight out of the bottle. as always with kayali fragrances they never project well without heavily overspraying and are skin scents. only good longevity is on clohing.

so warm and soothing and spicey. not as sweet gooey vanilla extract as i wanted (even in a mini bottle super mascerated) but it really opened my eyes/nose to a scent i never expected to like. its like a nice sweet warm TCM scent lol and i grew up loving tiger balm/green oil scent so this is a much yummier ver of that. one tiny spray lasts so long and is so strong. i love hoiw the vanilla gets stronger the longer time goes on

lushhhh, love it. smells like brown sugar, get so many compliments. only con is that the dark liquid is dark when spraying too lol, and i kinda have to wipe it around my skin as to not leave a dark dripping liquid onto my clothing (this is also why i dont spray it on clothes). i find that it's a really good scent to layer with something more pungeant or clean, bc the notes come out way more and it smells amazing.

Reviewing as a man whose gf recently got this. This is the most alluring and attractive vanilla fragrance on the market for women. MP’s Vanilla Powder is significantly stronger but doesn’t smell half as pulling and captivating as this. You’re not going to have people smell you across the room, but a lot of people that walk past you will look back to try and track who they just smelled. Do with that what you will.

Honestly the perfect vanilla fragrance. I have a gripe with so many vanilla perfumes that become way too cloying and sweet (namely the wedding silk santal by kay ali or something like italica by xerjoff) I literally just can’t do those- it makes me sick. However, this vanilla stays perfectly in the middle: not too sweet or bland. Great by itself and great if I want to add a touch of vanilla to another scent.

First time I smelled this I immediately thought 'medicinal vanilla'. And I was so disappointed because I had high expectations for this one. But I decided to wear it for a full day to test it out properly, and WOW it only took me that one day to convert me. The brown sugar dry down is so addicting, and it's become one of my comfort fragrance that I always reach out for to layer with everything.

Great perfume, not my absolute favorite out of my collection but definitely the one I get the most compliments on. Rich, warm marshmallow + wood sort of vanilla. It's definitely a gourmand but it isn't cakey/candy like. Maybe a little boozy feeling but nothing too intense. Definitely not the sort of thing I would recommend for warmer/hot weather (the heat makes it too much too fast).

This is my second review after 3 years of using several bottles now of this perfume. I have around 100 vanillas, and I've had around 150 in total, and this to me is the one that I always come back, the one that I always buy again and again and again. I'm sorry who disagrees, but as a vanilla experienced person, this to me is in at least the top 3 of the best vanillas ever made

this is so classy. this smells like a perfume i was gifted in high school by a friend of mine called arsen. Something Audrey Horne from Twin Peaks would wear in an attempt to get the attention of Agent Dale Cooper. She bought it from the perfume counter from Horne's department store. Thick tights and plaid skirts, a gentle sway. VANILLAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

honestly one of my favorite vanillas. it took me too long to get into kayali bc i thought it was all high school teenager sweet gourmand cloying scents but i smelled this one someone and instantly fell in love. this vanilla is very mature, warm, and inviting. last long enough for a night out & the sillage is somewhat strong. i really love this one

It was extremely underwhelming at first spray, but after it settled it was extremely nice. Definitely didn't stick super long to my shirt that I sprayed it on but it did stick very well to the tester and I love how it dried out. It doesn't give as much of the like shea butter or maple scent that I was expecting, but it is a nice vanilla!

I absolutely love this fragrance, it smells so good and it’s so easy to layer this perfume with others. It’s a great unisex fragrance it doesn’t lean too feminine or too masculine which I like. A downside for me is that I find it doesn’t last that long even when I use fragrance enhancers. Besides that it’s a great winter fragrance.

Sweet, boozy, intoxicating scent of brown sugar, vanilla, liquor, and cookies. Very different from the light, floral vanillas that are popular now. I admired the color of the juice - mine was purple and opaque, which made it impossible to spray on clothes. But it didn’t matter, as it lasted for 12 hours on my skin

So sweet, delicious and a good vanilla scent. I sprayed this on my t shirt and still smelling after sleeping with it. Maybe I can try this even I am a boy but this is too feminine. Not sure but def a good scent. But the projection is not that good I guess. Unless you hug someone they might not notice your perfume.

I’ve repurchased Kayali Vanilla 28 several times. It’s one of those staples I always come back to. On its own, it’s a warm, sweet vanilla with a slightly ambered depth, but I especially love using it for layering since it adds a smooth, cozy vanilla touch to almost any fragrance without overpowering it.

It took me a while to appreciate this scent but it's wonderful. Too bad for Kayali that all the inspirations of this fragrance are longer lasting, stronger and much much cheaper. Where I live the 100ml bottle goes for 140 euros. The inspirations are about 20-30 and with better performance.

I really love this perfume! however when i first tried it i was so surprised by the spiciness! it’s like a warm ambery vanilla. unlike the cupcake super sweet vanilla I was told it is. if you’re looking for sweet vanilla this isn’t the perfume I’d recommend. either way i love it!!!!!

Smells like cola to me. Maybe Dr. Pepper or something similar, but I honestly don’t mind that. Sprayed it on my wrist and still smelled it even though I was sweating under a magnetic wristband on for 8+ hours. Pretty solid performance compared to most other fragrances I’ve used.

A beautiful brown sugar vanilla fragrance it’s so good for layering with a lot of different scents this is probably one of the best vanillas on the market she’s just iconic! 🔥🔥 Vanilla 28 is always be that vanilla you gotta have in your collection it’s one of my favorites

I currently don't have tons of vanilla fragrances in my collection, I had my phase of decluttering them as I find them cloying on me. For this though, it's a love! I don't know which note, probably the brown sugar? It smells so good and cozy and cuts through the vanilla.

Just got this scent and am enjoying it! It is a way down dialed version of Shaghaf Oud. On me, I get a hint of burnt sugar, Oud and patchouli. V28 is an elegant, warm day scent that envelopes you and SO is the evening sophisticated sweet scent that packs a punch.

Because of the nature of the vanilla, each bottle tends to smell different. This is my daily wear in the winter as a gourmand girl; it has a bit of a musk to it which I do enjoy, but may not be for everyone. I have bought four bottles of this.

Cult classic for a reason - this is just a really inoffensive, lovely sweet vanilla. I am really not getting the whole musky/woody/unisex thing, to me this is a really nice grown-up yet sweet vanilla. A true date night perfume.

This is literally my signature scent. I LOVE this. I first got a small 10ml bottle and knew I NEEDED the 100ml one just because it is SOOO addicting and good. I get compliments for this perfume. Would recommend.
