Loukhoum

The most comforting scent I have ever experienced. Can't be without it. Ps. The old bottle was much nicer in my opinion. Don't understand the need to change it. I just found my review for Loukhoum that I posted on another site a few years ago... When I was clearly far more chatty. Seeing the review reminded me of how I came about Loukhoum in the first place... A process of elimination. Comparing likes, loves & dislikes with other reviwers. I had noticed that quite a few perfumes that I liked where often described as 'ashtray' by the dislikers. (Ashtray? That's crazy talk! Lol) To me KML sounded like heaven.. So i decided that if 'they' hate it & say it smells of ashtray.. Obviously I'm going to like it and set out to make it my 2008 Christmas gift to myself!.. here's my old review. "I ordered this perfume based on the reviews that I have found on here and elsewhere.... It is not easily available in the UK, so no opportunity to test beforehand. So I ordered it and then spent 9 days waiting for it to arrive (Christmas post!) panicking more and more that I had probably just made an expensive mistake. On the 9th day I arrived home to find it packaged on my doorstep. I unwrapped it and spritzed it on and - uh oh! Hmm, not too sure about this one. I had powdery - good, but maybe too powdery. No real sweet scents, it was actually quite spicey... not really my cuppa tea! I asked my husband if he liked it and he said not really..... not good, not good!! I didn't give me a headache though.... which was great as I knew I could give it a fair trial over a few days. So I tried it again the next day.... Mmm actually, this is quite nice. It seemed sweeter and warmer. I could smell the warm sweetness of the almond. The spicey notes that I hadn't liked from the day before were now a warm vanilla. There was also a delicate rose scent and less powder. Phew, this seems better. Maybe the fact that the perfume had been in transit and the contents were really cold had effected the way that they smelled on the first day? Anyway, by day three I was in love with this perfume. It smells exactly how I imagine I should smell! My husband snuggled up to me that night and commented on how nice my skin smelled..... and he has commented every snuggle since! I'm so happy I found this site.... without it I would never have found this perfume..... My HG - Keiko Mecheri, Loukhoum. I LOVE IT!".

I have little samples of both Loukhoum and Loukhoum Eau Poudrée, and I've dedicated this weekend to a little comparative study between the two (while going about the rest of my life, obviously; I'm not THAT obsessed yet!). Friday evening I wore Loukhoum Eau Poudrée, Saturday evening I wore Loukhoum, and today Sunday I'm wearing them both side by side. I'd already worn both of them a couple of times before, so I already knew I love both of them, but I wanted to pinpoint my opinion and especially the differences between the two of them. I don't know if I succeeded: I'm not entirely sure I would be able to tell the difference in a blind test, and I'm not sure at all which one I should save up for a full bottle of...So this review will be about the both of them. These are both very sweet scents, and they both smell like real Turkish Delight turned into perfume: not too realistic in a sticky or overpowering way, like you’ve rubbed candy all over yourself, but not synthetic at all, either. The scents are quite heavy and strong, very long-lived. You can wrap yourself in them like in a blanket if you want - like all the best winter gourmands they can really be used for comfort. The question is whether you’d want to stroll around in public wrapped in a candy-scented blanket, being an adult and all, but I think it’s just sophisticated enough to work as long as you don’t overspray. The differences between the two are quite subtle as far as I can see. Wearing them on consecutive days I could hardly tell them apart, but now that I’m wearing them side by side I do see some differences. The original Loukhoum is a bit more syrupy, a bit sweeter. It’s also very well blended: I can’t pick out any individual notes, it just smells like a more sophisticated perfume version of Turkish Delight. The Eau Poudrée is what the name implies: a bit dryer and more powdery, which makes it just that bit calmer and less sweet. I can also pick out the various notes better in this one: I smell sugar, almonds, rose and vanilla working together beautifully but not quite forming one homogenous smell. I also think the Eau Poudrée could work in the warmer seasons as well as the colder ones, because it’s just that little bit less powerful.

As much as I adore Loukhoum by Keiko Mecheri, it is not a photorealistic Turkish delight scent. Loukhoum Eau Poudrée is closer to the actual candy with its definite airy powdered sugar and luscious rosewater notes. So why review the original? Loukhoum is the scent evocative of vintage cosmetics. She is your devastatingly gorgeous 1940s Hollywood starlet. She is backstage with a classical coquettish ballerina, complete with silks, powder puffs, and giggles behind fans and flowers. And the hint of hawthorn adds an ethereal faerie quality to the delicate powdered sugar rose. She is, to put this in a very contemporary cultural reference, how I imagine Dorothy Chambers of Black Mirror's Hotel Reverie fame, perhaps with a little addition of Oriza L. Le Grand's Fleur d'Oranger or Jardins d'Armide, or even a bit of Bodacious by Boudicca. Ah, but perhaps I am too romantic. However, I giggle every time someone with no sense of sophistication suggests that something smells like "baby powder." Baby powder is made of talc or cornstarch which both, essentially, have no smell. The various perfumes added to the powders to make them more pleasant are typically based on actual existing flowers. It is a very unfortunate consequence that what we have used to make experiences with self-care items— toiletries, cleaning products, medicines— more palatable have now become symbolic of corporatocracy. I refuse, for instance, to think of cherry and bubblegum as medicinal flavors. Drink some original green NyQuil or take some plain amoxicillin pills and tell me how much they taste like candy. Or use some regular old bleach and tell me how much it smells of lemon or pine. There is a wood polish, interestingly enough, that smells almost exactly like marzipan, so beautiful and mouthwatering compared to the older scents! Though now, I suppose, it will become associated with janitors' closets and old folk's homes. For shame.

I've wanted to try this for ages, it's received such incredible reviews and sounds so luscious. First, I get a strong impression of Petite Robe Noir: cherry. I do love cherry, and almond often smells like cherry. I was completely unprepared for the fragrance to smell exactly like Lorenzo Villoresi Teint de Neige. With a hint of cherry. Well you could have knocked me over with a feather. I never expected this. There are some differences, such as the occasional whiff of cherry; it seems to come and go in waves, which is very interesting and something I've rarely encountered before. Since I spilled some of my decant I ended up applying a lot more than I wanted, probably 1 ml. I have fragrance consuming skin and so far I can still can sniff lovely rich satisfying wafts largely undiminished in strength. Usually the first half hour indicates whether the fragrance has any legs. Next the honey comes to the fore, which is the first real difference from Teint de Neige. I still get that strong makeup powder scent I love so much and which I never expected I'd like at all. I'll amend my review later if Loukhoum lasts more than the obligatory 2 hours on me. If you love the powdery aspect of Loukhoum best, I'd advise you try Teint de Neige. Joseph Jivago's Sweet Dreams is very, very close to Teint de Neige if the price of TdN is too steep. As with most expensive scents such as those made by Lorenzo Villoresi, your money buys you more longevity and subtlety. Note: The Loukhoum has very good longevity, I was quite pleased. I find the cherry note to be richer and more luscious than Petite Robe Noire. Definitely bottle worthy; the hype is well deserved. Be aware that JJ Sweet Dreams has doubled and tripled in price.

She is sensual and sweet and really quite glamorous! Definitely the scent of a vintage starlet, and reminiscent of turkish delights. I get a lot of sweet powder with occasional wafts of jammy rose, very sweet but not cloying at all because the powder keeps it more "dry" (may be why some get a tobacco scent from it), and this comes from someone who is easily cloyed by those sugary sweet scents. It dries down into a somewhat powdery and creamy vanilla that is so addicting. Such a beautiful scent. I actually got du soir first and its first spray smelled exactly like the original, but over time my du soir sample has gone darker and gotten more spicy and oud-ier. The very first spray of this was disappointing for me because it was too rosey and sweet but I gave it a day and now its soooo gorgeous, just like du soir was at first (but slightly less powdery and slightly more rosey still). I sprayed this on a tissue for my little brother to smell and he wanted to keep it because he liked it so much. He said he preferred poudree because it "wasnt as sweet," which is probably because its more rosey than the original. Personally I prefer the original out of all three loukhoums. One of my favorite fragrances ever! Pricey so for now I'll buy a decanter, but its on my list of full bottles to buy when I have the reason. edit: I got a 5ml decant and it was already somewhat aged when it arrived. It lost a lot of the baby powder notes and I think I'm getting more honey and woodsy notes alongside the still slightly powdery vanilla. Its nice but it just isn't the same, I miss my 1ml sample. I will use this one up and eventually buy a FB or maybe another 1ml just to test.

Gorgeous, very sweet and feminine, heavy long lasting scent. It IS extremely powdery, no doubt about that. If you don't like powder this one is not for you. Probaby one of the sweetest, girliest scents I have ever tried.. and I love it. I do hate how they changed the bottle though, totally agree with whoever said it looks like batman on acid now (which is hilarious by the way) I have the old pink bottle but it's a shame I'll probably never be able to find another one when it runs out. Anyway, to me this smells like very sweet honey and baby powder. Not much rose, but that's okay. My boyfriend says it smells like deoorant to him though, but I could really not care less what he thinks when it comes to this perfume... it is my absolute favorite going to bed scent. ;) Oh, and a slight edit about sillage/longevity: Sillage is actually fairly soft to moderate on me, but I can definitely smell it. It lasts a *really* long time, it's one of the few scents i can go to sleep in and still wake up smelling. Love it! Edit-- there is a clear difference between the old version in the tall bottle and the one in the pink bottle. Pink bottle version is MUCH more powdery, tall bottle is more musky smelling. Tall bottle is also stronger and dries down to more of a fuller scent, pink dries down to mostly just sweet powder. I still love both. I'm also curious about the newest version, would love to get a sample to compare!

Loukhoum was the first niche fragrance I fell in love with. When I bought it, I still went to school, lived with my parents and the 100€ I paid for it were a whole lot of money for me. The bottle I own is plain and rectangular and just says "Keiko Mecheri", the liquid got super dark but still smells great. Just so you have an idea how old the bottle I'm reviewing is. It's such an intense scent that I never use more than 2 little sprays, never reapply it and only use it on dreary rainy autumn days and in the snow, so I don't think I'll ever need a new one. I love it just as much at 33 as at 19, but now it also feels a little nostalgic for me and I use it less often. Loukhoum is simply a gourmand lover's dream come true. Almonds that almost smell like cherries. The best quality rose flavored Turkish delight, not the dusty cheap stuff from the tourist trap shops. Smooth Honey and deep, sweet vanilla. A beautiful hawthorn note that makes you wonder why perfumers don't use it more often, and a sprinkle of baby-powder musk. The opening is more focused on rose and cherry-almond, while the drydown is more of a honeyed musk and vanilla, but the development is more subtle than complex. Loukhoum can be smothering if you're using it wrong or just don't like opulent sweet perfumes, but on someone who loves it and knows how to handle it, this is be extremely cozy, feminine and gorgeous.

Uh, is my nose broken? I got a sample of this from LuckyScent and it almost didn't have a smell to me on the cotton pad I used to test it. Granted I had just nosegasmed from smelling the beautifully delicious Vaniglia by Mazzolari lol, but I expected to smell something and I didn't. I put it aside to let it dry down more and eventually, it did have a scent, but it actually resembled Vaniglia to a point so I was kind of let down. I do need to try both on my skin as I'm sure there are actual differences, but I was thinking this would blow my socks off and it was so hard to detect that it didn't. EDIT: Retested this on my skin and HOLY MOLY GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY YES MA'AM PAM! This is the consort to Tihota! No, it isn't masculine in the slightest, but it is right there with Tihota, I mean neck and neck, in gorgeousness! I couldn't believe how much this morphed on me into the most beautiful vanilla sugar bomb! Sorry for all the exclamations points, but this beauty right here...YOWZA! Smells just like Tihota and Sucre Noir had a wild fling with Vaniglia giggling in the background lol! I will play with the sample some more, but I think this is going to be my first full bottle niche purchase if I can convince myself to get over the idea of paying so much for fragranced vanilla sugar water lol. Confectionary offerings of fragrances generally fill me with an urge to run away to a corner where my senses can recover from their besieging onslaught. I was at Libertys of London and it was by chance that I ended up at the Kieko Mecheri collection. I found all creations quite exceptional. LOUKHOUM took me hostage. Instantly. It is uncomplicated, yet profound. It has a celestial, otherworldly quality about it. The rosy almond transported me back to a time of simple, sweet nuances. Days of wonder. When loss of innocence had no meaning. I carried it around on my wrist all day, a perfect anodyne for troubled waters. I come from a land of exotic temptations akin to Turkish Delight brimming with rose water, almonds, sugar syrup and honey. But LOUKHOUM, mixed with my chemistry turns into a transcendental experience. Silage is impressive, and I saw no radical transformation of notes in the dry down. It just wanted to be one with me. So now we have a symbiotic relationship! I bought it immediately of course, but when I got back to the USA. It's cheaper here than Europe. Now that I've been suitably humbled by it, I'm taking a break from my chypres and woods. Btw, it's great on the pillow. So, sweet dreams! I totally adore it and recommend it to people who have strong biases against sweet scents. it's lovely. Just try it! ,

I don't think I have any other fragrances with a Hawthorn scent note. It is not over powering in Loukhoum, but I do get it, especially at the opening, and I think it could be creating a little harshness. But the opening calms to the lovely baby doll head vanilla type note when smelling skin directly, while sillage of angelic rose vanilla fluffy perfume delight hovers off skin. For me I can 'see' through the powder of this fragrance, it's more of a puff effect on projection. I really like this perfume and it does have addictive qualities. Initially I discovered KM Loukhoum at MiN in 2013. At that time the bottle was purple, not pink, but it was the stand up bottle. I revisited my sample recently and decided to bite the bullet, buying it off the Luckyscent site. Now the purple bottle has changed and doesn't stand, which isn't that much fun, and the plastic cap seems cheap and ill fitting. My biggest concern is that the new version doesn't seem to have the great crazy longevity of my 2013 sample. But out of fear I haven't tested them side by side. I love Loukhoum and I'm not ashamed to say it, but at $120 for 50ml I want that long lasting powerhouse that I sampled. Regardless Loukhoum has a happy home with me and I'm glad I finally bought it!

Ordered the sample from Luckscent & at first sniff I deffinately got the cabbage patch kid plastic face baby powder scent, but that's a good thing reminded me of wonderfull childhood memories then I get some white musk almond and floral scent, then my favorite part comes which I'm surprised noone has mentioned this and if they did I must have missed it, INCENCE! Welcome to princess jasmine's palace balcony as I send off on my own flying carpet! This scent is well put together not too busy but pleasantly subtle different and a white musk incence gourmand. My signature scent is Lolita Lempicka so if you love scents like this and grew up in the 80's when cabbage patch kids were popular and you were raised by hippies who often burned Nag Champa incence I'm sure you will appreciate this I think I'm going to save up to purchase this, I'm a massage therapist and cannot wear strongly scented perfumes to work but this? This is one of those scents that you can wear and people will notice but not choke over. Mommy Likey!

I, by some miracle, won the vintage version of Loukhoum, and as of today, it is my most prized posession with Gormand Coquin. My apologies to everyone who was bidding on this couple weeks ago, but i was willing to go far...far...far, like, i literally had no limit, that is how bad i wanted the vintage version. Comparing vintage and new, there is only one singular difference-vintage lasts well over 24 hours, where current version can last some 8 hours on me. Smell wise they appear to be the same, with vintage being a tad more deep, and opulent. I live in Arizona and our temps are thru the roof, and it's humid due to monsoon, but i do wear this out and it smells absolutely yummy and amazing. I do not understand the comment bellow at all. I don't have a single perfume in my collection that i would not wear out. Will be on a hunt for another vintage bottle of it; i am moving this as my number one perfume out of my entire collection. There is nothing like this out there! 😍

As a Turkish delight lover I knew this would be a hit or a miss and I have to admit that I was really sceptic about the whole concept. I have been testing several perfumes that try to capture the essence of Turkish Delight but no other comes as close as this one. Yes, we have a winner! Loukhoum is a delicious pink fragrance that presents the concept like no other! I love how underneath this lovely powdery cloud all the notes are extremely well blended. It's a joy to unravel this fragrance and I find it amazing how a scent that feels so dry (powder obviously) manages to stay luscious and edible. Keiko Mecheri brings us an ambiguous scent: It's sweet in a childish way without ever being tacky or loosing refinement. It's sirupy but not cloying, on me it's actually very discrete. It's a beautiful composition that radiates warmth and stays close to your skin. A cuddly fragrance that you can't help but like. Staying power is excellent! I see a full bottle in the future :)

WHY did they change the bottle? I read one review online that it has been adulterated :( Oh man, say it isn't so. Of all the Loukoum fragrances, Sweet Oriential Dream by Montale, Serge Lutens Rahat and Louve and the Du Sour, this is by far the best! Does anybody have a bottle of the pink bottle shown here that they are willing to swap anything for. Check my fragrances, I have many! Too many. This is why when I find a fragrance I love, I end up buying 2 or 3 or them. Just for this fact! They get pimped out :( So disappointing. I wear this day, evening, and it's great for a spray or two to bring on the sandman. Just pm me a message if you see something in my lineup you might want to swap. Sigh.....I hope it isn't changed too much. Why do they have to fix something that isn't broken? :( Fast forward 9/14/2014: I still love this. I hunt down the pink bottles. It and SL SOD are very much alike on me. I do prefer this one a little bit more though.

Walking thru the grocery aisle which carried a selection of ethnic goods, after spotting rahat loukoum I had a craving for it as it was commonly eaten sweets/desert when I was a child growing up in Europe and I hadn't had it in a decade or longer. Well it smells better than it tastes, as I am not a kid anymore craving insane amounts of sugar,lol! Well come around to hear about this perfume, and having read many helpful insightful reviews, I decided to purchase it. Since I have an affinity for powdery scents there's going to be high probability of me liking or loving this scent. And Voila! I am amazed how the scent translates as a turkish delight. Just as it's name says, confectionery sugary powder, I love it, want to eat, it is delicious! Powder, honey, vanilla, almonds and whatever else floral, makes this amazing perfume shine:) Silage is excellent, lasted throughout most of the day. This is 100% Winner in my Perfume Wardrobe!

I absolutely love sweet gourmand fragrances. Loukhoum is pure candy, definitely Turkish Delight rolled in fine powdered sugar. It's gourmand perfection. My only "complaint" (if you can call it that) is that I wish the rose was more prominent. I get lots of sweet almond, honey, and powder, but the rose is slightly absent. I also detect a touch of something tangy in Loukhoum, which gives it a light and cheery quality that helps to balance the overwhelming sweetness. Might be the hawthorn. Loukhoum is pretty much interchangeable with Montale Sweet Oriental Dream. Loukhoum contains more powdered sugar and the honey is not quite as rich as in the Montale. I detect a bit more rose in Montale, but less powdered sugar. So it's really about which notes you want to be more prominent on your skin. If you like to take it slow with a man, don't wear this! I think most men would go wild if they smelled this and possibly eat you alive!!!!

This might be my signature scent. I have two versions of Loukhoum and I want to get every edition I can because I am so in love with this fragrance. I have the current edition bottle and the previous edition which looks like a flower (reddish purple bottle with a pink cap) The difference between the two is my flower bottle is slightly more syrupy than my newer bottle. Both are powdery but it isn’t “baby powder” to me more talcum powder but Loukhoum also smells edible because of the almond and honey notes. There’s a lot of doughy hawthorn creating a chewy texture and a rose running underneath (more like a rose water) with an overtone of powder- like teint de neige without the soapiness. I disagree this can’t be worn in the summer. I live in south Texas and this performs beautifully and makes me feel fresh and sexy. I need to try poudree and Parfum du soir.

It took me a while to fall in love and finally purchase this fragrance.I am so so happy I did. It is the epitome of sweet. But an elegant, ''expensive'' intriguing, feminine, sensual, playful sweet. It feels so thick, like a real piece of loukhoum. Slightly powdery, sweet vanilla, the almonds are not bitter and do not stand out, they rather enhance the composition giving it a ''nutty'' sweetness. The rose is fantastic, it makes it so sophisticated. Ever since I've got it been wearing it morning till evening. Great longevity and projection too. I really really adore this thing! I do not find it similar to HP...Hp is much more ''bitter'' liquorice-y and almondy. One negative side, I HATE the bottle:( it is not the same cute pink bottle with the white cap as in the fragrantica photo:(

I have a sample from Lucky Scent and i am wearing it right now. Not sure how i feel exactly. I like it, but i think this is more of an art for me than a wearable perfume. I love powdery fumes, but Loukhoum truly smells like baby powder, or diapers, and i absolutely hate using those expressions. Sadly, that is all i smell, and i am 2 hours into it. It feels warm and comforting, but it's thousands miles from being romantic or sexy, and million miles away from being a true gourmand. It is powdery and musky, and being from Eastern Europe i know very well what Loukhoum smells like, an this is not it, as nice as it is. I have a strange desire to own a full bottle of this, but i doubt i would ever reach for it. It is nice and it is not, at the same time.

One of my signature fall/winter scents of which I never tire sniffing. I'm endlessly surprised tobacco isn't listed in the notes as it is reminiscent of my uncle's cherry tobacco pipe smoke in the best way. Beautiful note combination that is so well balanced it teeters expertly between a gourmand and a floral. A perfect mixture of mysterious, yummy, and cozy. Almond and honey are present, but not sticky sweet on me. The dry down is fairly linear on my skin, but I do not mind it one bit. If you want intimate, cherry, almond, and tobacco, you will love this. Feminine, soft, and teasingly delectable - making it a perfect cold weather wear. Lasts beautifully on my skin and clothing.

Oh my giddy Gods!!! I thought Nez a Nez's Ambre a Sade was sweet but this is sweetness at a high level ... !! Do I like it? No ... I LOVE IT! If you love turkish delight, almonds and vanilla and want to smell like them - then this perfume is right up your street! Almonds, roses, icing sugar, nougat, parma violet sweeties, femininity, pink diamonds, turkish delight, strawberries & cream, honey - is just a fraction of the description of this delicious scent! I do think this is a lover or hater - thankfully I am in the first category! I have two new perfumes that I know I will wear more of than others and this is one of the two!

loukhoum is such a treat! a subtle, powdery rose, drizzled in honey with riveting scent progression. it opens like a powder puff to the face, the rose hiding behind the dusty cloud. you really need to enjoy a powdery scent profile to like this perfume; it lingers for a while. after about 2-3 hours on my skin, the powder brushes away to reveal rich, pure honey. it has that raw, earthy quality that clover honey has! it's simply intoxicating. if i were to take a bite from my perfumed skin, it might melt in my mouth.

I bought both the original Loukhoum and the Poudree version, expecting to like the poudree a lot more. To my surprise, I love the original Loukhoum the best. It is sweeter and more well-rounded. I get the honey note loud and clear. I get some powderiness and some soft florals in the background. To my nose, it smells like honey, caramel, and powder....which is pretty much my dream perfume. I could bathe in this stuff, but I won't (it has very strong sillage).

I recently purchased a sample of this from Luckyscent and I'm surprise at how much I like it! The opening smells like straight up baby oil but it soon starts to sweeten up and I get those hawthorn, rose, honey, and vanilla notes with a bit of a nostalgic plasticy scent (like a Strawberry Shortcake or My Little Pony doll). Overall I think this is great fragrance for those who like sweet powdery fragrances and I definitely plan to buy a full size!

This is gorgeous! On my skin this is not powdery like others are saying. It is honey (a slightly dirty honey), rose, musk and almond. On clothing it can go a bit powdery, but not overly so, and certainly not baby powder. I find it quite sexy, though it is somewhat cozy as well. I had been meaning to try it for years and recently sampled it. I bought it the next day, and have barely worn anything else since it arrived. This is a huge ❤️ for me!

Taste and smell... interconnected. The nose as a guard to warn you away from any inappropriate consumption... And, the vice versa, to lure you towards a delicacy, a Loukhoum... If you are a Turkish delight lover, you will appreciate this perfume... it's a true rendition. Don't overdo it with spraying it, though... Just like the sweet, too much sugar can be destructive! PS. One of the compliments received was: "You smell good enough to eat!"

After years of thinking about it, a weekend of blues in bed yearning for sweets finally made me buy Loukhom. This is just as beautiful as I remembered. The king of realistic gourmands in its honey rose almond glory. Agree with the most voted notes - honey is front and center. The rose gives it interest and zing so it’s not cloying. Another comforting beauty to carry me through the winter. I like to use this at home- it’s like a warm hug.

I was searching for years to find THE parfume that will replace Hypnotic Poison which I have been using for a long time..can say that Tobacco Vanille was the only one standing first in row until I discovered this beautyful scent - LOUKHOUM. I got so many compliments with this parfume - it is absoletuly the winner! Very happy with it - it suits me fantasti and it is very long lasting.

I ordered a sample from Lucky Scent, well worth $3 Loukhoum is very powdery and not overly sweet as I imagined. It's an amazing confection like sweet almond oil dusted with powdered sugar! Loukhoum eau Poudree is more powdery and sweet than this original Loukhoum but with less longevity. If you try Loukhoum and like it but want a less expensive dupe...try Hanae Mori Butterfly EDP.

I am currently on the "wait" list for this lovely perfume to be shipped to the company. Apparently, they are updating their "bottle style", which is a very nice updated purple with an elegant top. This, to me, is an everyday anyway kind of fragrance. It's powdery, soft, a little sweet but the almond gives it a new sense. It's a very nice fragrance.

At the first spill I bring back to my trip to Istanbul. In the great bazaar, the air was filled with sweet scents: sugar and honey, but from the lukum rose the aroma of rose-raspberry rose, rose, rose,in the almond and fulgora of mulberry juice, of citrus, mirra. A sweating sweetness with a dark underworld.

Absolutely gorgeous almond, rose, powder fragrance. The dry down is the most expensive baby powder scent you'll ever smell which is a great thing to me - extremely warm and comforting. This one lasts hours and hours. It's a joy to get little whiffs of it throughout the day. One of my very favorite scents.

Powdery heaven. I was growing up in the 90s and this scent reminds me of something from my childhood. Cannot actually remember what, but the memory is wonderful. I think it reminds me of make up our mothers used to wear in that time. And also, different kinds of candies. Good, very good.

HONEY! Honey envelopes my nose as soon as I spray and let the juice dry down on my skin. *swooooooooooooon* So very delicious. Not as powdery (of course) than the Poudree, but that is just fine since I own both fragrances. I do believe I will wear this to bed tonight.Delicious!

If you took a batch of almonds and soaked them in vanilla rum, then dipped them in a powder mixture of dried crushed rose buds and powdered sugar then toasted them in the oven you would have Loukhoum. I love this scent because it is warm, intoxicating, and sweet.

Baby powder for grown ups, those were my initial thoughts upon applying this fragrance, but it is so much more. It is smooth, sweet, warm and delicate and it really shines at night; it became one of my favourites almost immediately. I love it.

I LOVE this, I just got a bottle last week and it's my new favourite. So classic. The smell kind of reminds me of scented plastic dolls also... but it's floral and fruity and creamy and not too heavy but lasts for ages and is AMAZING!

This smells like a cabbage patch doll head, dipped in honeyed marshmallow fluff! It reminds me of childhood and yet smells grown up and sexy. Absolutely right into my top 10 of all time!!

So addictive! Loukhoum is like snorting a line of icing sugar at a krispy kreme. This is sweet, beyond sweet, and is so fragrant that it puts me in a sugar coma for hours at a time.

Just like the name, a Turkish delight dusted in powder, rose petals on top, sitting under someone’s warm breath. Manicured fingertips. It’s so feminine and delicate.

It was new year's day 2013 and I decided to blind buy this perfume. I know what you all must be thinking, but I had a coupon! My excuse and I'm sticking to it. (Min New York btw, got it for only $82!). Anyways, when it finally arrived in it's adorable pink bubble gum looking bottle I sprayed away...and just didn't know what to do. The bottle looked so cute, the notes looked just right, but that baby powder syrup was making me just cringgeee. I actually put it up for swap. Although when I was talking to a friend about why I wanted to trade it away, I gave loukhoum a second chance and it clicked. Loukhoum is a super almond powder scented with what smells like cherry syrup, roses, and honey. It's dribbly ooey gooey sweet but so super powdery. Whatever it was that I imagined it smelling like when I bought it really didn't match my expectations at all. Even though loukhoum wasn't what I was expecting it was still great! Loukhoum lasts forever, the silage is thick. If you want heavy, heavy powder with some intense syrup honey loukhoum style sweetness, you will not have to look another place! Later on I tried loukhoum eau poudree and ironically that smelt a lot more like what I was expecting this one to smell like. If you haven't smelt loukhoum by kieko before and you are mentally comparing it to be like white musk libertine by the body shop, forgetta about it!! This is 10x heavier I promise. Intense, rich, powder, loukhoum, syrup, are all things I would tag this fragrance with. Side note, I hate the bottle change. I think it looks like batman tripping on acid.

Silky, smooth, soft and sweet. It isn't as matte and the almonds aren't as bitter as they are in its flanker, Eau Poudree. Personally I prefer this one. There is already an almond scent that I adore, Etro Heliotrope, on my wishlist, so I won't put Loukhoum on for now. The top note of rose is beautiful, a softer version of the rose found in Mecheri's Attar de Rose. Overall, this perfume doesn't have the tang I usually associate with sweetness - it's strictly sugary. I do like sugary scents, and this one is my favourite I've tried, but in the end I might prefer to eat that dessert if that's what I was craving. The only strange thing about wearing Loukhoum is that if I put my nose to my wrist to get a good sniff, I can't smell it again for about 5 mins. Meaning that I try, but for some reason I perceive the scent as having disappeared. It's like it momentarily shuts off a part of my olfactory brain! I highly recommend this scent to anyone who likes sugary scents. Update: Now that the weather is warming up (in Ontario, this means it is no longer *bitter* cold, but hovering around -1C) I'm liking Loukhoum more and more. The rose, honey and almond seem more obvious than the sugar and vanilla I initially thought were heavy, and overall it feels powdery but light, texture-wise. The sillage is incredible and longlasting.

I recently attempted an experiment in which I used Turkish Delight to create a unique black forest muffin (mixed results). I ended up eating more raw TD than went into the muffin mix. I was equally intrigued at the thought of a perfume which was based on the same heady adult confection of Turkish Delight! So much potential! So does this smell like a quality Turkish Delight? Absolutely, but only from a distance. If you put it right up against your nose, it is right mess. Initially the Hawthorn smells just like a burst of sweet aniseed but it doesn't take long to segue into the sharp rosey confection. I can even smell the almond working as the powder used to keep the real uber-sticky Turkish Delight from sticking together. I can feel the vanilla but I don't find it too sweet or sticky or false. It is a very strange tactile sensation though - how can it be so creamy and powdery at the same time? I think MK Loukhoum captures everything that is delicious about TD without the unpleasant gastronomic results of overindulgence. I really quite like it but I am not sure I would like to walk around smelling like this too often.

This one wasn't instant love, more like instant intrigue. It's starts off with an intense blast of sweetness, but then I get an almost medicinal note. I'm actually reminded of something I've smelled in a pharmacy. Ah, then there it is! Light pink sugar! A young girl twirling her frilly skirt! The almonds come out and it becomes delectable. The medicinal note must have been the slightly bitter almonds working their way toward the surface. This is definitely a special gourmand in a sea of sweet fragrances. It has a unique combination of notes that are blended together perfectly. You definitely won't smell like anyone else in the room with this on. I know there are a couple more takes on Loukhoum (Turkish Delight) out there and I haven't tried those so I can't compare, but if they smell closer to the real thing than this I'll be delightfully surprised. I love it but I'm not "in love" with it as I actually prefer Loukhoum Eau Poudree and Loukhoum's honeyed sweetness requires a particularly playful mood, but it's definitely one of the best gourmand fragrances I've ever smelled.

Trying this one out today thanks to Kchild . this is realy somthing:)Sweet ,a dn almondy, honey and rose. absoulutly i can smell the Turcish delight. I love turcish delight. On the skin this is very sweet , Comforting , balansing one the edge off being to sweet . i fell like this is note the Sent to owerdo or sniff in closly, but one a distant basis this is realy beautiful. a bit powdery in the middle part , nicely whit the rose, almonds and flowers . then when the Vanilla and musk hits in in the end part i feel actualy a bit reliewd , was begining to get a little to sweet maybe. but the vanilla rescues in to somthing a bit warmer , softer, the woodsy notes and musk , gives it a bit more depth and if i should put a picture one it : The little sweet innocent girl in the begining whit the whole sweetnes part is slowly turning older . Getting more comfident and strong , The lady steps forward in the end. Sober and elegant:) i like this one . but im not shure i could pull it of in every ocations . this is a fragrance for special ocations.

Fresh, soapy cherries and almonds at first, then candyish, with a hint of rosewater and a dusting of icing sugar and ever so a touch green. My SO can smell baby powder, and though it's not overly baby powderish to me, I do tend to agree, it's like a sophisticated baby powder, but oh, so much better. I think I’m getting to like it actually! Regarding the comparisons to Serge Luten’s Rahat Loukoum, though both these fragrances are based on the same delicacy, they are so different! And that’s not a bad thing, as I guess there are lots of different recipes for the edible Rahat Loukoum. For me, although I like Serge Luten’s, I think I prefer Keiko Mecheri’s version, as the drydown is closer to the Turkish Delight I know, and it is more “alive” on my skin than SL’s. Now, if I could just have a second version please...if they would just add a touch milk chocolate to it, I would have a Fry's Turkish Delight chocolate bar! Delish!!

Loukhoum smelled like a basic, boring powder bomb the first time I tested it. I unscrewed the sample vial and POUF: there was powder. Almond powder. Rose powder. Vanilla powder. More powder. It seemed too simple, the way every note was unharmoniously crystal clear. And for such a seemingly fluffy scent, the thing was creepily potent and long lasting. But I think that's what warmed me up to it, ultimately. There's something kind of fantastic about a sugary sweet powder puff that's so unapologetically big and bold, like a horror movie kitten on steroids. If you can't quite dislike Loukhoum then you might as well just go ahead and marinate yourself in it. Like Angel, it's the sort of scent I want to be enveloped by and suffocating under. A blanket of Loukhoum. Or an avalanche, rather. More is more with this one.
