Tuberose

This scent is not for everyone. However, I think it really deserves some cred. Actually, I absolutely adore it. If I'd named it, I'd called it "Dirty Tuberose". I feel strong white lilies and jasmin in the opening, not clean and fresh white flowers though, rather something dirty. It also has something that reminds me of bubble gum or scented eraser. Eventually, the somewhat "dirty" note disappears, and I feel clean, soft tuberose. Longivity is very good, and sillage is moderate. It's sophisticated, and very interesting. Also quite sexy in my opinion. In my fantasy, this is something that Sylvia Plath or Simone de Beauvoir would have worn. It's like a punch in the face.

The opening has a really strong scent that I don't understand, but after about 30 minutes it settles down to a beautiful tuberose-jasmine scent. If you like strong white floral fragrances, this is nice. Definitely a try-before-you-buy scent.

This is awful. I'm a huge tuberose fan and this is the worst of all of the tuberoses fragrances I've tried. This REALLY smells like a cleaning product. It's something I would use it on the floor and think "yeah, smells ok". Also, it's the kind of clean fragrance you would smell at your dentist. Starlight_Angel described it perfectly "overly pungent aroma of synthetic tuberose coupled with an incredibly sickening soapiness in the dry down". Indeed, very soapy. Soapy to the point I thought my sample had gone bad or something. This smells like the cheapest soap you could find in the supermakert, really. I don't even understand how they had the nerve to call it "tuberose". It's ridiculous. EDIT: something really funny just happened. I found a sample of this among my other samples and decided to try it lol, started writing this review, and then noticed I had already done a review last year LOL! Anyway, this is my 2014 review > "BLAH. This fragrance smells so medicinal, synthetic and just cheap. If someone told me this cost $10.00 I would say it's expensive. Really, the opening is not tuberose and the drydown is just so awful and synthetic. Thank God this isn't strong because I just took a shower and I would have to take another one if this was stronger. If you are thinking about buying a sample of this or buying it: don't. I'm a tuberose fan and I don't like this at all."

When i tried a sample from Keiko Mecheris "Tuberose", i could not believe it, first i thought my sample has gone off. The opening is pungent fishy and soapy. I wonder what flower Mrs Mecheri smelled, when she created her "Tuberose". Maybe not a fresh but a half-rotten one ? Sorry. I already smelled fresh Tuberose flowers, the odour is heavenly, nearly edible. First there is a whiff of eucalyptus and freshly cut melon in the opening. After a while it smells lactonic like coconut-milk mingled with gardenia flower and jasmin. In the drydown there is a milky sandalwood. Yummi ! The dead heads smell a bit meaty like raw chicken or mushroom, maybe indol, but i never, never detected something that fishy. The fond of the fragrance is ok, when the fishy odour is gone. Nonetheless it is disappointing. Keiko Mecheris fragrances are usally musty, creamy, elegant and decent, but "Tuberose" is a bit of a strech.

First thing that came in my mind was root beer. ANOTHER fragrance that smells like root beer! *bleh* Pretty much the same reaction to Serge Lutens tuberose fragrance. Smells almost identical in that regard. SL has so much more depth though and mentholated too. All things I do NOT like in perfume lol Run away!
