White Petals

I got to try this today but I didn’t buy it because of what I suspected to be the inclusion of cedar... the “pencil shaving” note in the opening. It settles into a very pretty floral powdery fragrance with the cedar regressing into the background but emerging much further in the dry down. The interesting thing about this fragrance is how it endures so tenaciously on the skin and yet delivers zero projection. So if you’re after a skin scent that’s intimate, this could be a good choice, or it could just be a feature of Keiko Mecheri’s range, seeing as I tested two today and neither asserted their presence. Edited two days later. Having experienced this on my skin for a solid 7 hours, albeit with low projection, I started to regret not having bought it. It’s still a very intimate fragrance but it’s so enjoyable that I felt this could be something just for my pleasure. To my senses it’s more pale pink petals than white, exceedingly feminine and delicate. I returned to the store and bought the last one, wore it again last night...no regrets.

After reading the previous reviews this was a blind buy and Im so pleased I did. I understand that some have compared White Petals to Kenzo Flower but on me there is quite a difference. Although I also love Flowers this doesnt have the intense floral blast you initially get with flowers, but softer and quite woody which then blend into the, powdery, classy combination that lingers close to the skin. UPDATE This turned into intense woody on my skin and after trying it for a couple of days did not like it at all. The initial woody scent never faded and the powdery scent surfaced slightly but it then turned into woody again, no floral at all on me and it ended up making me feel nauseous.. Nothing at all like nivea fragrance .

A classy parfum but young,charming,floral but also woody. This is a very charismatic scent with an almost mystical and suave aura. It opens with the strong note of Lily of the Valley very pronounced,but soon the the beautiful camellia that I love and here is really well balanced. I also perceive woody and dusty notes... a complex perfume and as always, Keiko Mecheri amazes me. I love this perfume, for me it is very beautiful,when my sample ends definitely I will buy a full bottle... magnificent!!! Sillage: 8./10 Longevity: 9./10 Scent: 9./10 Overall: 9./10

A lovely white floral on paper that became a little sharp on my skin. Another girl who had tried it on didn't have this problem so I would recommend trying it on yourself!

I am seriously wondering whether Keiko Mecheri WHITE PETALS may be the precursor to CAMELLIA. I say this because the petals in this composition, too, seem much more pink to me than white. Upon application, I thought that I was perceiving tuberose and jasmine, but neither is listed among the notes. There is a sort of buttery quality, softy and comforting, and a thickness, to this creation. As the perfume develops, what seems to my nose to be magnolia comes through stronger and stronger. So perhaps camellia really does smell just like magnolia, as that was what I believed myself to be primarily detecting in CAMELLIA as well! I suspect that the low ratings on this perfume have something to do with the fact that WHITE PETALS is not at all a big white floral composition, as its name suggests. It's not at all sharp, and this is not at all about the triumvirate tuberose-gardenia-jasmine. Instead, it's a big, creamy, light pink floral composition. WHITE PETALS is soft and billowy and and luscious, and I'm sure to add either this one or CAMELLIA to my collection at some point. It's only a matter of time, since I love magnolia--or reasonable facsimile, which camellia appears to be.

This is a pretty, feminine, powdery floral. It soft and subtle with low projection, though it lasts all day on me with no touch ups. It is linear though, and what you smell on the dry down is pretty much how it remains throughout the wear. At least that's the way it wears on me. As far as any woody notes, I am not picking them up. It just wears as a powdery floral on me and that's it. I originally had this on my future to buy list but after wearing it several times have since removed it. Though the notes are nothing alike, for some strange reason it started reminding me of Prada Candy Kiss. I guess maybe because it's powdery, but so is Kenzo Flower and that doesn't make me think of this. Whatever the reason, I happen to like Candy Kiss more because of its pronounced orange blossom note. If you dislike orange blossom this might be a good alternative. For anyone else who just likes powdery floral scents in general this is a great choice, as is Candy Kiss. So, I've decided to compare the Flower by Kenso with the White Petals since some reviews were saying they are similar. Ok, I can get why people are saying that, but the difference is enough for me to really enjoy White Petals and to actually dislike the Flower. Flower is way sharper, has the 2000s vibe, while White Petals is round, comfy and calm. White Petals reminds more of the Nivea cream, like someone said in the comments, but it definitely smells like the expensive perfume version of that.

This was a nice little blind buy at a great price. First of all, I am so impressed by the longevity, especially for a Keiko perfume. I can smell it for hours and hours! The projection is intimate but you catch wafts when you move. And yes, it does resemble Nivea cream made with quality ingredients. It's pretty linear. The first spritz is a touch musty dusty - I have no idea why. It then begins to soften. There is a short period of time when the lily of the valley is a bit too harsh and artificial. But after 10-15 minutes, it is softened perhaps by the orris. Peony can be sharp too, but not in this case. No similarity to a green rose here. Everything just comes together to become a soft pretty, powdery floral that feels very feminine and nurturing. Odd, but I really don't get any narcissus, but I'm sure it's there doing it's job. I like it very much!

This is my sixth perfume purchase from Keiko Mecheri perfume house as I was very impressed with Clair Osbscur, Fleurs d’Osmanthus, Paradise Lost , Datura Blanche and my favourite Isles Lontaines. This was a blind buy but I should of known better about powdery scents . I’m just hit with an overpowering powder puff scent and this comes across as way too grandmaish and definitely entirely feminine cause of the Orris/Iris. The florals are in the background but I can’t differentiate the notes because the powder notes are way too predominant . On positive notes - White Petals is really well made of quality ingredients and the black bottles are so classy . It’s silage is close to skin but longevity is over 4 hours. It does remind me of nivea cream , if you like that kind of scent . I don’t think I will keep it as it’s just not my type of fragrance

A May bride, dressed in the finest silks and laces, beams in delight as the early summer sun dances across her skin. Around her a fragrant mists gently lingers, the soft and creamy bouquet wafting across the landscape in a delicate, delectable cloud. That is the image that I get projected when I smell White Petals...classic, clean and chic and incredibly beautiful. When I first smelled this perfume I wasn't sure I was going to like it. The top is earthy and a little dusty. The narcissus even makes it slightly sharp and green. However, that rapidly clears and leaves behind a heavenly muguet-dominated dry down. I get the lovely creamy candied-lemon scent that typifies lily of the valley fragrances to my nose, and this is accentuated and complimented by the lovely camelia. I find that the LotV in White Petals is very smooth and natural smelling with the creamy sweetness that I love about this flower. It's not harsh or sharp as it can be in some scents. White Petals has excellent longevity, with good sillage, which I find typical of Keiko Mecheri's perfumes. As it's one of my favorite flowers I'm always looking for a good muguet fragrance, and this is one that exudes elegance. I might just have to purchase a bottle of this in the near future.

This is a white rose, but it is not delicate. It has thick, heavy petals and is sitting in a rain soaked garden. Strictly speaking, this is a traditional perfume, as it does not push boundaries. But what it does, it does extremely well, and is of exceedingly good quality. Concentration, composition and materials are at the top of their game. However, if there was no label saying "White Petals", I might have guessed it to be called something else. It's a white floral that is on the verge of becoming pink, in my opinion. It's not one of those ubiquitous white florals. There is something jammy about the rose, particularly when you put your nose right up to your skin. It's the same quality found in another Keiko Mechieri - the better known "Loukhoum". But it's also present in Nina Ricci's latest release, L'Extase. Smelled further away, this fragrance is more "white", with a touch of power. But the rose is pretty strong for me. Projection is not great, but longevity is excellent. Try before you buy, this is expensive.

This is a very classy, elegant perfume. This one grows on me. I love it more and more every time I smell it. At first spray it smells like body lotion or that creamy Dove moisturizing body wash, mixed with Lily of the Valley. The Orris root in the opening gives it that thick waxy creamy texture. After a few minutes I smell Rose. At this point it reminds me of lipstick Rose by Frederick Malle. It's a clean waxy lipstick scent. It's absolutely gorgeous. About an hour later all lipstick is gone and it's soap again . It is a shapeshifter on my skin some days it smells more like clean pink flowers and Lily of the Valley and other days it smells more waxy and soapy. Sillage starts off moderate Within an hour to an hour and a half it's closer to the skin but detectable to other people in your personal space. I love it

i absolutely love this fragrance. it is soft and clean and milky in the best way (no sour notes whatsoever). i agree with the reviewers who said this fragrance has a similar profile to prada candy kiss (in the milkiness) and nivea cream (in the scent). this is lovely but it is not a beast mode-fragrance, so if you buy adjust your expectations for projection and sillage. otherwise, i think this is affordable enough to spray liberally and it's a scent that makes me feel soft and happy.

This is a very well behaved white floral, as the notes suggest. There is nothing harsh or strident about it. No one flower scent predominates and it stays close to the wearer. Suitable for day and office wear, if not very exciting. It develops a fresh laundry kind of aura after an hour or so.

This is really nice. Very elegant and lady-like. I can imagine anyone wearing this. It is not restricted to a certain age group or type. Feminine and classy perfume.

Sweet, powdery white flowers. A girl in white lace and pale yellow chiffon, eating a cheesecake as light and fluffy as a cloud. Reminds me of an old Lenor advert.
