Wild Berries

I agree with many others on this page that the name "Wild Berries" was a bad choice for this synthetic riot of a scent; as someone else has hinted at, "Violet-flavoured bubblicious with a little musk thrown in" would have been more apt (although admittedly less seductive). Still, once I'm over the disorientation brought on by the discrepancy between the name-based expectations and the reality of the fragrance, I have to say I kind of like it - I love the idea of violet bubblicious! I get why this isn't one of Keiko Mecheri's more popular scents, and I'll probably never use up my own little decant, but still: points for fun and originality, if not for naming skills.

Starlight_Angel is absolutely right - this is berries, berries, berries all the way down. Keiko Mecheri describe this as a fresh fruity and I think that's accurate. The berries, although sweetly fruity, aren't sickly or thick in the way that Byredo's Pulp is. There's no trace of rotting fruit here, nothing heavy or stifling. There is a slightly woody note as it dries down, but nothing so strong that it ruins those gorgeous berries :-D I love this perfume, I think it's so pretty, so light, so joyful. If I were to wear a fruity perfume this would be right at the top of the list I think!

When I tried this perfume I thought it would be like Lalique Amethyst or something similar. Unfortunately this is not as good. There are blackberry, black currant and raspberry notes in it but they smell a little plastic and too sweet. The packaging is elegant and the perfume itself was on the prissy side of the department store, so I was hoping something more exquisite. It's not the worst perfume ever, I guess I would wear it. Just not the most original one.

This perfume is one of the proofs thatniche and expensive does not always have to be great, exciting and... well... niche. If I found this one in any regular perfume store under the label of lets say Paris Hilton or another of the countless celebrities whose perfume flood the market, I would not be surprised. Wild Berries are all about a cloying, super sweet bubblegum, end of story. It has unfortunately a lasting power above average, and the synthetic bubblegum note lasts and lasts on me. It is not very pleasant, neither it is refined and definitely it is one of the worst creations from the house. For the price of 10/15 dollars, it would make a nice gift for a little girl, for what it is priced, you seriously have to love bubblegums to buy it :)

Sadly, this is the worst berry perfume I have ever smelled. This perfume is synthetic and unpleasant; honestly, this smells nothing like berries in real life--and it doesn't even resemble the sweet, commonly used berry notes of other perfumes! This perfume smells identical to the pink soap that comes bubbling out of the soap brush at a self-serve car wash, and that's not even an exaggeration.

Despite a very inviting name, Keiko Mecheri's Wild Berries is a disappointment to me. Berries, berries all the way - but definitely not wild, not even natural. On my skin I sadly can only smell soapy, synthetic berries - the perfume reminds me of some berry chew candies I ate as a kid. Not a smell I'd feel comfortable wearing.

On my skin unfortunately this opens as a blast of Bubblicious bubble gum. It pretty much stays there. I can't write anything poetic since it really does not develop much on me. It drys down a tad less sweet than the opening. But generally, it's another bubble gum scent on my skin. Meh....

Musky blackberry fragrance. Light enough. Not interesting. There are enough more bright blackberry fragrances.

Keiko Mecheri WILD BERRIES reminds me quite a lot of black currant tea. It's not sweet, but it is quite fruity while at the same time being rather green. I initially thought that this perfume must contain hyacinth, but it appears to be the black currant leaves alone which are imparting the green sensation. This is a very nice red fruit perfume for those who prefer their berries unsweetened rather than soaked in syrup or artificially sweetened. There's not a touch of sugar or vanilla added to this composition, which seems rich but almost stern compared to the "red berries" mainstream fragrances in near ubiquity. WILD BERRIES demonstrates once and for all that the reputation of red berries has suffered at the hands of those who serve them up only in candied form. Well, it turns out that berries in perfume are suitable for grown-ups, too. WILD BERRIES reminds me a tiny bit also of Rote Grüze, which is an infusion comprising dried red berries. It brews up rich, dark red and tastes delicious without sugar. I've never even been tempted to add sugar to it! It seems to me that anyone who appreciates Black Currant or Rote Grüze tea would feel a natural affinity for this perfume!

Wild Berries is a fragrance that is about the berries and nothing but the berries. Saying that, however, this is berries done well. Despite a slightly sharp opening, the fragrance quickly softens into a tangy/sweet berry compote. The balance of tartness and sweetness is just right here. As it dries down, I've found that it sweetens a little, and seems to wrap me in a silky fruity cloud. It's actually very reminiscent of the cutting up fruits for a juicy summer cocktail. The lasting power has exceeded 8 hours and still going strong. It is a scent that seems to wear close to the skin though, with very little sillage. If you like well balanced, natural, non-synthetic fruity scents, then this is one that definitely needs a try.

I picked up a pack of mixed berries at the health food store yeesterday (blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries) and when I opened them it immediately put me in mind of Keiko's Wild Berries. It's been several years since I've owned this but I think it's time for a new bottle. Good, fresh berries is what this reminds me of, with nothing added. There's no sugar or cream in here, just freshness. I had sent a decant to a friend before who said she thought it had a plastic smell, but I don't get that at all. To me, this is a great summer scent, or a great scent to remind you of summer.

I MUST have had a bad batch because mine smelled nothing like berries- synthetic or real. It had a vaguely powdery heliotrope and something like violet scented paper lining a very old lady's dusty oak drawers.That's all. There was something appealing enough that I tried wearing it a bunch because of the $ I spent, but in the end I couldn't deal with the nausea. After all of the other reviews I think I might try a sample and see if it was bad.

Absolutely gorgeous fruity blast at first then smooth deep berries. I find it beautiful and a little goes a long way, It's my type of scent. This is a fantastic scent that layers and blends perfectly with many of my favorite perfumes. I use it to blend through la vie est belle to add a berry nice effect. Love it! ❤
