I am so happy I got Kemi Jabir, and I have to say that right from the first spray, this is in the top 3 Kemi scents for me (Kemi, Jabir and Hayat). And now... On to the description and review! Jabir opens with an amazingly fresh and stunning blast of florals led by a faint yet very present raspberry (I think it’s a raspberry ketone used for the peony accord and masterfully done as it is always present throughout the life of the scent, and while it is very much present, it is never the focus of the scent), then combined with the super fresh blast of the freesia and light touch of rose creates an amazing floral melody, sure to enhance and pick up the mood of anyone who smells it. The opening, for me, can be compared to a morning walk into a fresh garden of flowers and coming across a raspberry bush in the field and eating a few after a night of rain. Violet, lily of the valley and Vetiver comes in a few seconds after the first opening blast and gives a watery accord that embraces the enchanting floral concoction, which gets enhanced by the pink pepper. As things progress, this eventually helps the olfactory profile to become a bit soapy, yet at the same time, keeps the initial opening present. And with you being reminded of it from time to time, it’s like you’re catching a glimpse at an olfactory photograph of the opening periodically throughout the life of the scent, oddly creating a sense of nostalgia of the opening when you are far into the heart and dry down of this olfactory treasure chest. The Oud, patchouli and musk are handled in an exquisite manner. They’re there adding their character, but are always in the background; adding their magic in so many different ways. This magestic combination enhances the florals giving an almost indolic accord, rather than only the scent of a high quality Oud, both combining like colors on an artists olfactory canvas. And then adding more colors yet, with the Violet, Vetiver, lily of the valley, and pink pepper adding an almost moist very lightly fertilized soil accord, it enhances this portrait of scents further by creating something almost akin to a forest floor. This is all done in perfect proportions too, as while its presence is there, it is never so loud as to make it a focus, just like the raspberry. For me, the best part about this is how it changes as it progresses, the florals stay strong but eventually morph into a soapy accord, yet because of the raspberry accord/ketone used in the peony accord, you will from time to time be reminded of the introduction, almost like the opening few minutes started again briefly, but then be brought back to the soapy/woody/fresh/watery backbone of the fragrance, with everything tied together by an almost haunting vanilla, which whips through everything from start to finish... Sometimes showing itself, sometimes working with the florals, sometimes balancing out the later soapy aspects, yet always smoothing everything out and keeping all the elements under control. This majestic concoction is Truly, worthy of being named after the father of alchemy and deserving of being labeled Al Kimiya. This is magical, so fresh, clean, light and airy, almost like a bright summer morning after a night of rain in a bottle, yet dense enough to be appropriate all year round and for any occasion. To the uninitiated to florals it will seem a bit feminine, but the more I spray this the more clear the opening blast is perfectly unisex, yet as it dries, it does lean a bit more towards the masculine side. However, that just might be my body chemistry, as I’m sure on a woman it will do exactly the opposite. Either way that is the magic behind the Al Kimiya of Jabir, and I say that anyone curious about it absolutely must get their nose on this enchanting scent, as it is truly inspiring, and something wonderful to behold. Truly one of the masterpieces of the Kemi Blending Magic brand.

Jãbir bin Hayyan “The Father of Chemistry” was born in 721 A.D. in the Persian city of Tus. ... He prepared chemicals, discovered several acids, improved many chemical processes and created devices, including filtration, alembic stills, and distilled alcohol, not to mention many of the advanced perfume distillation techniques still used by master craftsmen today. The fragrance “Jãbir” pays homage to his talent and invaluable contribution to the field, as the ancient practices of alchemy formed the basis of modern chemistry. In terms of the fragrance, there’s something about the way in which the floral arrangement is infused into the animalic musks that gives a certain mysticism and charm to the blend, as if the scent belonged into a different era , the brightness and perfumy sweetness produced by the marriage of peony and freesia is gently softened by the watery greenness coming from the lily of the valley, revealing a very harmonious introduction. Jãbir develops a very robust woody profile in the heart, with agarwood and vetiver paired to prominent musk that carries throughout the life of the scent with hints of vanilla. The scent lingers on skin for over twelve hours with tremendous projection. The overall experience of wearing Jãbir is as if coming from the dark into the light and back into the darkness in a never ending sequence. A majestic work of art.

I had a decant for years and initially found the oud too animalic/fecal. With time my nose no longer gets that. Instead it’s a stunningly rendered floral oud that has the nicest peony accord I’ve smelt yet. Peony for me is usually annoyingly sharp, overly sweet and very generic in women’s fragrance. Something I run from. But here it’s buffered, powdered to the nose yet not shy. Carved into a dark wood and lit from within. It pulls you in and makes you want to smell more. Violet touches are soft. Never too powdery or dense - instead veil-like. Intriguing, classy and both light but with sufficient heft and performance. Wear where you like, best in cooler weather and so beautiful she deserves you to be well turned out when you do ❤️

I am not sure why I do not find this the beast as many others do. It has moderate sillage, and good longevity, but isn't anywhere close to Kemi, for example in terms of strength and depth. Maybe I am just not very wild about most florals. I do not find the oud to be in the same league with many oud scents. The market is saturated (so to speak) with so many ouds, most of them synthetic. This is better than most oud fragrances, but does not rise to the top. I think it would be a good daytime scent at any time of the year. It is friendly and not nearly as challenging as Oud beast can be. I am glad I have a decant, but cannot see purchasing a full bottle any time soon.

A lovely Floriental centered around a nice peony note. The perfume opens briefly with notes of freesia, violet and pink pepper before going to the dense floral heart which has the central peony surrounded by slight rose and lily of the valley. The perfume settles on a bed of Laotian Oud surrounded by musk, vanilla, vetiver and patchouli. The slightly feminine leaning perfume has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. It is a happy scent which evokes the feeling of walking in an ancient Persian garden of delightful floral offerings. Enjoy!

I love Jãbir a lot for its bright sparkly fruity rosy Pink Pepper along with fresh floral notes with a musky tone in the background from the beginning to the very heart. The fresh and airy floral notes sort of dominated the scent until the late dry down when the more solid, earthy and woody notes of Vetiver, Oud, Vanilla and Patchouli became more noticeable. It has moderate to heavy sillage and very long lasting on my cooler than average skin. Personally I love Jãbir the most among the few fragrances by Kemi Blending Magic that I have ever tried.

Woha, for this one be prepared. Smells heavy, dark, like a wild animal. Maybe like a leather jacket you have been wearing for ages without taking a single shower, not sweaty, but dirty. Its very linear in its drydown but stays strong and has a good sillage. Recommend to sample before buy.

This is a real performer. Not a joke of a fragrance and one that will not disappoint. Great for making a statement like Oud For Greatness but doesn’t smell like it. Not a safe blind buy given its beast mode status! I think it’s masculine and strong !

Superb Quality perfume.!! Too Strong and on your face .. Nothing choking sort of thing but yes makes people turn around and aks what fragrance i am wearing.. Its overall nice and the bottle is tooo good

Opulent. Jãbir is a mind-boggling composition, an oriental symphony of florals, in which peony and freesia both shines. Around it, a counter fugue settled by lily-of-the-valley, violet, rose, quite an astringent oud note. Citrusy echoes in the background. Powdery, pungent, ashy, peppery hints here and there, sparkling, but very sketchy. Things will evolve in a quite peculiar, original rose-oud combo. Sort of wander in a forest-like experience. Dry, very sophisticated. The drydown is more on a vetiver, patchouli, vanillic, musky accord. Quite animalic and 'alive', dramatic, breathing almost in a cinematographic way. A praise for Kemi Blending Magic to its different vision in perfumery industry, with an eye of regard pointed towards quality of ingredients, new extraction techniques and technological advancements in the sector. I suggest you to try this if you are curious about it. To me, the composition is more apt to a feminine audience, but - as usual - anyone in the right mood could be a showstopper wearing this! Performances are great, parfum intensity is very long-lasting. Unfortunately, this is sold out actually on the website and prices are stellar. Well, they were sky-high even if it wasn't out of stock, currently, just to be precise... but you get for what you pay, as usual. I will explore further into the newer ideas that this fragrance inspires, and reaching new terroirs with the acquired experience. This is quite an artful creation in my books!

Named after father of alchemy, this sophisticated blend is a take on classical oud and rose combo but instead of dominant rose , you get lively freesia. Now freesia, as i learned from fragrantica is supposed to give a refreshing and peppery nuance which is exactly what you get mostly with fecal oud lurking behind somewhere. Unlike tempest, this is pretty linear scent that is loud yet sophisticated, if that makes any sense. I know it doesn't and that's the magic of Jabir.

You need to be ~really~ into animalic fragrances to understand and appreciate this. This is peony on a bucket of poo. Floriental in your face. Slightly less poo-ish than Al-Khat (I like sniffing it but would not wear). Never a blind buy for this one.

This gem I got absolutely no idea what it smells like before I purchased it. I mean I blind bought this one. I owned Luna for years and it's my signature scent. I think Kemi has that sort of perfumes that are captivating and you experience something new every single time you wear them. It's not for everyone, though. Jabir is lighter, but it has that blue cheese or if you lived in South East Asia you would recognise the stinky tofu note easily among the notes in Jabir. Stinky dirty old socks smell. If you wear Jabir outside in winter like the real snowy winter in the Urals or Siberia, you wouldn't really notice it that much, but it is there, not as strong as other stinky cheeses. So, don't be too scared. I am not disappointed, but I love stinky tofu or blue cheese, so probably got used to the smell. During first half an hour you can detect it, but then it just supports all those beautiful natural smelling flowers. I do not break the whole bouquet into separate flowers. It's just stunning and summery scent with a hint of sour smell after two hours. Expensive smell, and it's worth every penny you spent. I have got 50 ml, and it would last the whole life for me... One spray and it sticks to your body like a glue. It's bright and sharp, if any man love wearing flowers it's worth to blind buy it. My friend said it's a beautiful scent on a male.

Excellent quality and amazing performance, but never a blind buy. It has the similar musk notes as other perfumes in the Kemi line, although this one is very strong on floral and balsamic notes. It is more wearable than "Elixir" and "Al Khat" in my opinion, but still has a huge dose of floral notes that might not appeal to some. I cant appreciate patchouli or vetiver, unlike the notes pyramid above. Although not mentioned here, but it gives a similar note to olive leaves, a bit waxy, oily, and green. Projection and longevity are off the chart here, a small amount goes along way.

I got a sample about 1.5 years back when i just got hooked to oriental frags . But when i 1st sniffed i was like it smells like POO cause was not used to animalic type frags.. few days back i saw the sample again & sprayed it on my wrist & i was like HOW CAN I HATE THIS BEAUTY & without a second thought i ordered the bottle & now am addicted to it . 11/10 <3

The first time I smelled this fragrance, I fell in love with it. It has a lovely scent that uplifts your mood. You can smell the floral and Oud notes, surrounded by vanilla, patchouli, and musk. The scent's projection and longevity are also above average. I find it to be a beautiful oriental fragrance. It has become my favorite from this house. Cheers!

Amazingly built floral oud. The oud is up front but the florals are also up front. Keeping it oudy floral fresh the lily of the valley comes in and slaps the oud around and when it all settles you have a beautiful oriental floral amber that lingers and lingers beautiful fragrance

Very dated old woman smell, dirty and urinal dusty rose with disgusting animalix "shitty" undertone from.the laotian big amount of oud. Acrid dirty drydown, stinky and very very nasty smell Discontinued for a reason...

jabir on my skin mostly like jubilition men from amouage.. i mean the drydown on my skin.. simply the best more pjojection than amouage jubilition itself ;)

Absolutely gorgeous Oud and Florals perfume. This is an extrait concentration from the house. Very underrated. Overall 9/10. Amazing !!
